Obsessive Love, The Possessive Real Young Lady - Chapter 73
It was quiet outside the window, so quiet that only the sound of the wind could be heard.
In the moonlight, Su Sui observed Shen Jiayan nestled in her arms.
She was sleeping soundly, her long, curled eyelashes trembling slightly, her fair cheeks flushed, her lips pressed tightly together, and her breathing even and deep.
Su Sui’s gaze was very gentle. Her fingertips toyed with a few strands of wine-red hair, but her mind was replaying what Shen Jiayan had said during the day.
Adopting a child…
This was the first time she had resisted Shen Jiayan’s idea, an idea that was even harder for her to accept than accepting the existence of Gao Wei in Shen Jiayan’s world.
She knew that if she agreed to Shen Jiayan’s proposal, it would mean that from then on, the lives of the two of them would inevitably be disrupted by a child.
It might even add another point of conflict detrimental to their relationship.
However, when she thought of Shen Jiayan’s disappointed look, she couldn’t bring herself to refuse her harshly…
Su Sui’s thoughts drifted away. She didn’t know when she had closed her eyes, lost in her own contemplation.
When she opened her eyes again, she saw Shen Jiayan looking at her, her eyes filled with inquiry and probing.
“Why are you awake?” Su Sui chuckled lightly.
“You weren’t asleep?” Shen Jiayan blinked, her tone casual.
“Just thinking about something,” Su Sui pulled Shen Jiayan closer.
Shen Jiayan leaned into Su Sui’s embrace and lowered her head.
She looked up and glanced at Su Sui, “What were you thinking? Tell me.”
Su Sui smiled faintly, “Thinking about you.” She reached out and pinched Shen Jiayan’s nose, “Don’t overthink things, hmm?”
Shen Jiayan stared at Su Sui, a deep look flashing in her eyes.
“What’s wrong?” Su Sui asked her.
“Nothing,” Shen Jiayan shook her head. She leaned against Su Sui and fell silent.
Su Sui turned her head and gazed at the person in her arms, “Jiayan, do you like children very much?”
Shen Jiayan looked up at her, “Why bring this up all of a sudden?”
Su Sui chuckled, “Just asking casually.”
Shen Jiayan raised an eyebrow, “I didn’t like them before; I thought children were too loud and restless. But later…” As she spoke, she sat up straight, staring at Su Sui, “I met a little girl at the orphanage who has a personality very similar to yours.”
Su Sui’s pupils contracted, but she kept her smile on her face, “Oh? How is she similar?”
Shen Jiayan noticed her tension, pulled the blanket over Su Sui’s shoulders, “At such a young age, she always had a frown on her face. Gloomy, just like storm clouds about to rain. She was withdrawn, always playing alone, all by herself. She looked quite pitiful, so I wanted to give her a home.”
Su Sui was stunned for a moment after hearing this.
She understood what Shen Jiayan meant: she wanted to use this child to redeem her own childhood and perhaps redeem Su Sui’s as well. It was both a compensation for Su Sui and a salvation for herself.
Su Sui held Shen Jiayan’s hand, the corner of her mouth lifted, her eyes filled with tenderness, “Since you want to give her a home, then we will adopt her.”
Shen Jiayan’s eyes flickered slightly, and she didn’t say anything.
The next day, the adoption plan was put on the agenda by Su Sui. To raise a child well, she specifically bought a stack of books on parenting, covering everything from child psychology to nutrition and medicine.
She even thoughtfully prepared a room full of pink for the little girl, filling it with toys and dolls.
The night before the adoption, Shen Jiayan held Su Sui and talked for a long time.
She buried her face in Su Sui’s shoulder, “I’m a little scared… I’ve never taken care of such a young child.”
“It’s okay,” Su Sui hugged her and patted her back, “We are adults; we will take good care of the child.”
The next day, they set off for the orphanage in H City.
After the car stopped, the director brought the child out.
Su Sui looked at the little girl hiding behind the director, small and thin, with pigtails, but her eyes always held a sense of lifelessness.
Even though Su Sui had given herself enough mental preparation, when she truly faced the child, she found she couldn’t willingly accept her. Especially when she saw Shen Jiayan squatting in front of the girl with the stuffed bear she had bought, saying, “Xiao Xiao, do you still remember me?”
Her jealousy and possessiveness almost drowned her.
Xiao Xiao clung to the director’s leg, staring fixedly at Su Sui with her eyes, “This auntie doesn’t like me.”
Su Sui glared back defiantly, then squatted next to Shen Jiayan, snatched the bear from her hand, and forcefully shoved it into Xiao Xiao’s arms, “I truly don’t like you. But my wife likes you, so you must come with us.”
Su Sui’s unreasonable manner made Xiao Xiao bite her lip tightly, staring at the stuffed bear in her arms with red-rimmed eyes.
But Shen Jiayan, watching the two of them one big and one small couldn’t help but stifle a laugh.
Unexpectedly, the big one and the small one spoke in unison, “What’s so funny!”
At this, not only Shen Jiayan laughed, but even the director laughed too.
Before their laughter faded, Gao Wei’s voice sounded from behind them, “Sister, my mom and I are here to pick up Xiao Xiao.”
When Xiao Xiao saw Gao Wei, her face immediately broke into a smile. She let go of the director’s trouser leg and ran toward her, “Sister Awei!”
Gao Wei squatted down, ready to pick up Xiao Xiao, but was stopped by Fu Jing, “The doctor said you shouldn’t exert yourself too much; let me do it.”
Saying that, she bent down and held Xiao Xiao in her arms, “Xiao Xiao, from now on, you can’t call her Sister Awei anymore; you have to call her Mom. Understand?”
Xiao Xiao looked at Gao Wei doubtfully, “Are you really going to be my mom?”
Gao Wei nodded and pointed to Fu Jing, “This is your Grandma; she makes the most delicious food.”
The three of them looked very cheerful and harmonious, which left Su Sui completely bewildered. Wasn’t the plan for Shen Jiayan to adopt Xiao Xiao? How did it turn into Gao Wei?
Shen Jiayan saw Su Sui frowning in confusion, covered her mouth, and chuckled softly.
Then, she took out a check for 1 million RMB from her bag and presented it to the director as a donation.
As a thank you and a farewell to Xiao Xiao, the director specially kept them for a meal at the welfare home.
After eating their fill, Shen Jiayan took Su Sui to her beach bar.
The bar had closed early for this. Shen Jiayan stood behind the counter, skillfully shaking the cocktail shaker, pouring various colored liquids.
Finally, a vibrant cocktail, dazzling like a flame, was presented before Su Sui.
She picked up the glass, brought it to her lips, and took a small sip.
As the spicy liquid slid across her tongue, her eyes grew deeper.
“Is it good?” Shen Jiayan asked, resting her chin on the bar counter.
Su Sui smiled, took another sip, stood up, pinched Shen Jiayan’s chin, and kissed her.
The kiss, mixed with alcohol, was even more intoxicating.
Su Sui let go of Shen Jiayan, her eyes hazy, almost drunk, and asked, “Why aren’t you adopting Xiao Xiao? Didn’t you want to give her a home?”
“You understand me so well,” Shen Jiayan reached out and wiped the trace of alcohol from Su Sui’s lips, “Do you still need to ask me?”
She smiled brilliantly, like a flower blooming in midsummer.
Su Sui looked at her, the haze in her eyes growing thicker.
“Su Sui,” Shen Jiayan gazed at her, “I know the only reason you agreed to the adoption was entirely for my consideration. Likewise, the reason I gave up the adoption was also for your consideration.”
Her speech was slow and calm, every word hitting the mark in Su Sui’s heart.
Su Sui was stunned for a few seconds, then lowered her head and whispered, “I don’t need you to consider me…”
Before she could finish, her lips were sealed by Shen Jiayan’s.
After a light kiss, Shen Jiayan stroked Su Sui’s ear and looked at her remaining left eye, “No, you do. After all, my identity now is your wife, your partner, the person you will spend the rest of your life with.”
She paused, then continued, “So, you need me to consider you and care about your feelings. Only in this way can our relationship go the long distance. Isn’t that right?”
“Su Sui, I love you. I truly, truly love you. So don’t refuse my efforts for you, and let me contribute to our relationship, make a sacrifice, okay?”
Hearing this, Su Sui suddenly felt her heart beat much faster.
She looked up at Shen Jiayan, “What did you say? Say it again.”
Shen Jiayan looked at Su Sui in confusion for a moment, then understood what she wanted her to repeat.
She pinched Su Sui’s nose and, with a smile, said, “I love you, Shen Jiayan loves Su Sui.”
“I said,” she leaned a little closer to Su Sui, “I love Su Sui, I love Su Sui very much.”
Su Sui’s heart pounded wildly. She hooked her arms around Shen Jiayan’s neck and kissed her.
People are strange sometimes; even when they can sense the other person’s feelings, they always expect the other person to say it out loud, as if only then is the love truly real.
Su Sui had always been waiting for Shen Jiayan to say those three words, “I love you,” out loud.
She had been waiting, waiting for Shen Jiayan to utter those three words herself. Even when Shen Jiayan proposed to her, she hadn’t said it.
Su Sui thought she would never hear it from Shen Jiayan’s own mouth and had even stopped hoping or expecting it.
But today, Shen Jiayan suddenly confessed to her first, which made Su Sui ecstatic and incredibly moved.
Even the brief kiss couldn’t extinguish the fire of excitement in her heart.
So, Su Sui pulled Shen Jiayan to run onto the beach and shouted toward the sea, “I love Shen Jiayan! Very, very much!”
Seeing Su Sui like this, Shen Jiayan couldn’t help but laugh out loud.
But she remained composed, turned to look at the sea, and casually said, “So childish.”
She paused for a moment, turned to Su Sui, curved her lips into a smile, and then also shouted toward the sea, “I love Su Sui too! Very, very much!”
Their voices echoed in the night sky, awakening the sleeping stars, and the starlight above gradually brightened, illuminating the dark firmament.
Just like their love, shining upon each other and accompanying each other.
Under the vast expanse of stars, Shen Jiayan and Su Sui lay hand in hand on the beach, gazing up at the sky.
Shen Jiayan said, “I want to stay in H City and continue to run my little bar.”
Su Sui: “Okay, I’ll stay with you.”
Shen Jiayan continued, “I also want to raise a few cats; I’ll play with them in the sun when I have time. You can read a book when you’re bored.”
Su Sui replied, “Fine, I’ll listen to my wife on everything.”
Shen Jiayan turned to look at her, “What about your thoughts? What do you want to do?”
Su Sui gazed at Shen Jiayan, her smile gentle, “My thoughts are all in my eyes.”
The End.
