Obsessive Love, The Possessive Real Young Lady - Chapter 65
As the voice continued to transmit through the microphone…
Fu Jing’s breathing seemed to stop. The time and location matched so perfectly that she almost couldn’t believe that the girl she had been tracking for nearly half a month was the daughter she had abandoned all those years ago.
She bit her lip tightly, striving to control her emotions, not allowing herself to cry.
For so many years, she had imagined her daughter living well. Even if it was in poverty, as long as she was healthy and happy.
She never imagined her daughter would end up in this state.
Her daughter was supposed to be a lively, cute, intelligent, and beautiful girl. But now she was suffering from leukemia and could die at any moment.
The one who caused this disastrous result was her, her biological mother.
Fu Jing’s legs gave way, and she knelt on the ground, clenching her fists so tightly that her nails dug into her palms, yet she felt no pain at all.
Her heart had long been consumed by regret, and her tears fell uncontrollably.
Shen Shihao had just returned home and saw his mother kneeling on the ground, crying uncontrollably.
He was startled and rushed over to help her up: “Mom! What’s wrong?”
But Fu Jing just held onto him and cried, refusing to say anything no matter how much he asked.
During this period of returning to M City, besides the unsettling factor of Shen Wenshan lurking in the hearts of Shen Jiayan and Su Sui, their days were relatively peaceful. Su Sui had completely severed ties with Shen Wenshan, moved out of the Shen family villa, and was living with Shen Jiayan in that small villa.
She even rarely showed up at the company, moving all her work online.
In their daily lives, besides preparing the three meals for Su Sui, Shen Jiayan would have video calls with Gao Wei, who was far away in H City.
As the two were talking, the Director Mom from the hospital appeared in the camera view. After greeting Shen Jiayan and asking when she would return, she started talking to Gao Wei.
“Ah Wei, come to my office after your call. I have something to discuss with you.” The Director said, then disappeared from the camera.
“What did the Director want to talk to you about?” Shen Jiayan inquired.
“I don’t know.” Gao Wei shook her head. “Sis, has Su Sui been bullying you recently?”
Shen Jiayan glanced at Su Sui, who was reading only three steps away, “No. How would she dare bully me? I’m the one bullying her.”
“That’s good.” Gao Wei’s eyes curved into a smile. “Sis, I want to come to M City to see you too. Can you come pick me up? I’m so bored being alone here.”
As soon as she finished speaking, her phone was taken by Su Sui.
“The Director needs to see you.”
After saying that, she hung up the video call.
Shen Jiayan lay on the bed, propped up by her elbows, with her feet kicked up, playfully looking at Su Sui with raised eyebrows, “You don’t want Gao Wei to come find me, is it because the situation is unclear right now, or are you just jealous and don’t want her to come?”
Su Sui placed the phone back on the table, turned a page of her book, and replied calmly, “A bit of both.”
Shen Jiayan chuckled, “You’re quite honest.”
“There’s no need to hide small matters like this.” Su Sui retorted lightly. “Besides, I won’t hide anything from you in the future.”
The implication of this sentence was crystal clear: she was telling Shen Jiayan that she would have no secrets from her from now on.
Shen Jiayan’s heart fluttered slightly, and the corners of her mouth curved into a faint smile.
She suddenly found it amusing and couldn’t resist leaning over to kiss Su Sui’s cheek.
“Thank you, wifey.”
This address of “wifey” stunned Su Sui for a few seconds.
By the time she reacted, Shen Jiayan was already sitting on her lap, with her arms wrapped around her neck, breathing softly near her ear.
“What’s wrong?”
She looked up at her, her eyes flowing with a captivating allure, “Don’t you like me calling you ‘wifey’?”
How could Su Sui dislike it? She was ecstatic.
But she still maintained a stern face, “I haven’t proposed yet.”
“Oh, I forgot.” Shen Jiayan lowered her eyelashes and said with a smile, “Then I’ll call you that after you propose.”
Her tone was gentle, with a drawn out final syllable, as if coaxing a kitten.
Su Sui couldn’t help but swallow.
She reached out and cupped her face, gazing into her eyes, and said word by word, “I will marry you. I will definitely marry you.”
This statement seemed to possess a magical power that instantly shattered Shen Jiayan’s composure.
Her heart pounded wildly, her earlobes burned red, and her mind went blank.
Shen Jiayan leaned against her, closing her eyes to feel Su Sui’s warmth.
She suddenly realized that although she had acted nonchalant on the surface, as if nothing mattered, she had always been worried and fearful deep down.
She was afraid that one day in the future, Su Sui would suddenly stop loving her, and then she would truly lose the only family she had in this world.
But fortunately, Su Sui would never betray her.
Even though she had deeply hurt her heart in the past.
She was still willing to walk this path with her, accompanying each other.
This was perhaps because their feelings were deep enough to trust each other completely.
Shen Jiayan suddenly opened her eyes, staring intently at Su Sui.
“What’s wrong?” Su Sui noticed her gaze. “Why are you looking at me like that?”
“Su Sui…” Shen Jiayan softly called her name.
“Mhm, I’m here.” Su Sui tucked a strand of hair behind Shen Jiayan’s ear. “Is there something you want to tell me?”
Shen Jiayan bit her lip and nodded.
Up to this point, she still owed Su Sui an answer. An answer she had been waiting for for a very, very long time.
“What do you want to say?” Su Sui’s fingertips brushed across her lips. “Are you hungry? Or are you craving something, or maybe your fingers are itching?”
Shen Jiayan tightly grasped the hand that Su Sui had moved to her lips and shook her head.
But she found that when she opened her mouth to utter those three words, they felt stuck in her throat. She swallowed several times but couldn’t get them out. Shen Jiayan didn’t understand what was happening to her. Her feelings for Su Sui were genuine, but why couldn’t she say it out loud?
Perhaps because of Shen Wenshan’s existence, she always felt uneasy. Or perhaps because the image of Su Lu’s suicide kept replaying in her mind, filling her with dread.
She was afraid that if she confessed her feelings, a new twist might occur in her relationship with Su Sui.
But if she never expressed her feelings, how long could their relationship last? Shen Jiayan felt lost.
Her silence made Su Sui sense that something was wrong.
When Su Sui saw the hesitation, doubt, and struggle flickering in her eyes, she already had the answer in her heart.
“I know. I love you too.”
She leaned down and kissed her lips.
At this moment, Su Sui felt an unprecedented sense of fulfillment.
Her Jiayan had finally opened her heart to her.
“Jiayan,” Su Sui called her name indistinctly.
Shen Jiayan felt as if she were being tickled by feathers by the sound of it. She closed her eyes and responded, “You’re cooking today.”
When Shen Jiayan handed over the role of head chef, it meant her lower back would be aching again the next day.
The next morning, Shen Jiayan held onto the wall as she walked downstairs, muttering about Su Sui being a lunatic who used every trick in the book.
When she reached the bottom, she saw the culprit sitting in the dining room, having a video conference on her laptop.
Su Sui saw her, raised an eyebrow, and greeted her, “Morning.”
Shen Jiayan glanced at her, “You certainly look energetic.”
Su Sui smiled and said to Xiao Sun on the video call, “Wait a moment after you finish organizing these data, and send them to me.”
Saying that, she closed her laptop, got up, and walked over to Shen Jiayan. “I’m cooking today, you are responsible for eating.”
It seemed like years since she last ate a meal cooked by Su Sui. But that taste was truly unforgettable for Shen Jiayan.
The thought of eating Su Sui’s “dark cuisine” again made every cell in her body resist.
She quickly stopped her, “No! CEO Su, please sit. Cooking is too small a task to trouble you with.”
“Are you looking down on me?” Su Sui narrowed her eyes slightly.
“Absolutely not!” Shen Jiayan vehemently denied it. “I care about you; you exerted yourself last night, how can I let you cook today?”
Su Sui raised an eyebrow, sizing up Shen Jiayan with great interest.
She looked at her with a half-smile.
Shen Jiayan felt uneasy under her gaze and instinctively took a step back.
But the speed at which she retreated was no match for how quickly Su Sui followed.
With two steps, Shen Jiayan was cornered by Su Sui against the wall.
Su Sui braced her hands against the wall, trapping Shen Jiayan inside.
She looked at her and said with a smile, “Why aren’t you retreating anymore?”
“Smash this wall, and I’ll keep retreating,” Shen Jiayan challenged her, “Go ahead and smash it.”
“It cost money to build,” Su Sui leaned her forehead against hers, their noses bumping. “It would be a waste to smash it.”
Their breaths mingled and intertwined.
“Then let me go.” Shen Jiayan glared at her. “I’ll go cook.”
“No way.” Su Sui moved closer to her and pinched her cheek, saying, “You’re just looking down on me, so I’m definitely cooking today.” With that, she turned and slipped into the kitchen, even locking the glass door to prevent Shen Jiayan from interfering.
Shen Jiayan knew Su Sui was doing this on purpose, but she couldn’t do anything about it. She muttered an insinuation, “Childish ghost,” then reluctantly sat down at the dining table.
While waiting for Su Sui to cook, she opened her laptop to check some things.
Coincidentally, the files organized by Xiao Sun had just been sent over.
Shen Jiayan clicked to view them.
But the more she read, the tighter her heart became. She had thought that after their last direct confrontation with Shen Wenshan, he wouldn’t be able to do anything to them and would thus remain inactive.
Who knew that Shen Wenshan’s retaliation against them was on going. More accurately, it was a retaliation against Su Sui.
He was using the stock market to attack the projects invested in by Su Sui’s company. As of today, Su Sui’s company had already lost hundreds of millions in funds.
Not only was he suppressing Su Sui’s momentum in the stock market, but he was also sniping at Su Sui in other fields where her company was involved, causing the stock prices of the investments Su Sui participated in to continue to fall.
Although Su Sui’s company had invested in numerous projects, it couldn’t withstand this rate of loss.
Shen Wenshan’s methods were much more ruthless than she had anticipated.
The reason he was doing this was clearly to make Su Sui go bankrupt. When the company was liquidated, he could then step in and reclaim the 25% non-voting shares from Su Sui.
Shen Jiayan scrolled her mouse, lightly licking her slightly aching teeth. “This old bastard is truly too insidious!”
“I think so too.” Su Sui brought a bowl of steaming vegetarian noodles to Shen Jiayan, casually closing the laptop. “Let’s not talk about him for now. Try the noodles I made first, okay?”
As Su Sui spoke, she picked up a noodle, bit down on one end, and gave Shen Jiayan a suggestive look.
