Obsessive Love, The Possessive Real Young Lady - Chapter 62
Admittedly.
When Su Sui heard Shen Jiayan’s voice, her whole body involuntarily tensed up, and her mind seemed to go blank.
Moreover, the same words, similar situations, had happened more than once.
She didn’t understand why she still felt nervous and flustered when facing Shen Jiayan’s questioning.
Su Sui subconsciously wanted to hang up the phone and escape her.
But Shen Jiayan seemed to anticipate what she was thinking, “If you dare to hang up, I will immediately go to M City to find you.”
As expected, her threat worked. Su Sui breathed a sigh of relief and put the phone back to her ear, “I’m fine, I’m not hiding anything from you.”
“You’re lying,” Shen Jiayan said with certainty, “If you weren’t hiding anything from me, why would Gao Wei send you those strange messages?”
Hearing this, Su Sui rubbed her temples.
She secretly cursed: What a good for nothing, short lived ghost who ruins things.
“What? Did I hit the mark?” Shen Jiayan’s voice came through the line.
She sighed and said, “I’ve been very unsettled lately. My mind has been filled with thoughts of you, and why the two of us ended up like this.”
“Even the current situation is exactly the same as the state four years ago when you hid your identity.”
“So, what are you hiding from me this time?” Shen Jiayan’s voice sounded tired, even trembling slightly, “Or rather, what are you trying to endure all by yourself again?”
Su Sui was silent for a moment.
She lowered her head to look at the phone screen, her eyes slightly narrowed.
At this moment, she knew she should continue to hide things from Shen Jiayan, preferably never letting her know for the rest of her life.
However, she suddenly changed her mind.
Su Sui’s fingers gripping the phone tightened slightly, “Do you really want to know?”
Shen Jiayan replied almost without hesitation, “Yes.”
“Then listen carefully, Gao Wei’s bone marrow match has been found,” Su Sui paused, then continued, “That person is Shen Shihao. Not only that, but Fu Jing also seems to have noticed this matter and has people investigating.”
After hearing this, Shen Jiayan fell into a strange silence.
The near-death experience she and Su Sui had with Fu Jing four years ago seemed to have happened just yesterday.
So much so that when she heard the name Fu Jing again, the sense of fear surged up like a tide, threatening to drown her.
Su Sui’s voice continued, “At this stage, I’m not sure what Fu Jing is planning, but based on my understanding of her, it’s certain that her ultimate target will be me. So…”
“So you pushed me away to protect me, right?”
Shen Jiayan’s tone was gentle and calm, as if stating someone else’s business.
However, Su Sui heard a deep sadness in the timbre of Shen Jiayan’s voice.
She eased the sourness welling up in her chest and said, “Protect you? I think you’re overthinking it. I did this purely for myself. After all, you are a burden to me. I don’t want to give Fu Jing any leverage over me, as that would only make me as hesitant as you are.”
Shen Jiayan’s lips trembled a couple of times, her throat felt stuffed with cotton, and she choked, unable to speak.
Burden…
Although she didn’t want to admit it, in reality, she was indeed Su Sui’s burden.
Thinking back over her life, from childhood until now.
When others slandered her, it was Su Sui who wholeheartedly defended her.
When others tried to hurt her, it was also Su Sui who protected her at the cost of her own life.
And her?
She only dared to hide behind Su Sui with peace of mind, watching her carve a path through thorns and brambles for her.
Moreover, she had been constantly demanding from Su Sui. Not only that, but now she had even added Gao Wei to the list, making it a responsibility Su Sui had to bear.
However, she also knew even better that the only reason Su Sui said that was for her sake, to look out for her, and not to make her sad or guilty.
It was just that Su Sui thought she was too weak.
From now on, she would protect Su Sui, protect Gao Wei, and protect everyone she cared about, in her own way.
“I understand,” after a long pause, Shen Jiayan took a deep breath and said, “Since that’s the case, from now on, I will never appear in your world again.”
After saying this, Shen Jiayan quickly hung up the phone.
Coincidentally, Gao Wei came out of her room, rubbing her sleepy eyes.
Seeing Shen Jiayan holding her phone, Gao Wei’s heart became anxious. But she didn’t dare to say anything, afraid that Shen Jiayan would notice something.
She could only approach slowly, trying to take the phone back from Shen Jiayan’s hand.
“Sister, when did you get back?”
Shen Jiayan was soaked, and water droplets were still clinging to her hair, falling onto the floor one by one.
Gao Wei quickly took a towel to wipe Shen Jiayan dry while asking her, “Why are you out in the rain? I remember packing an umbrella for you.”
Although she was talking, her eyes were fixed on her phone.
Gao Wei followed her gaze and saw that she was looking at the contacts page.
“Sister, were you on the phone just now?” Gao Wei asked tentatively.
Shen Jiayan turned her head, handed the phone to her, and then said coldly, “If you dare to help Su Sui hide things from me again, I won’t be polite to you in the future.”
Her tone was cold, spoken seriously and decisively.
Gao Wei was startled and forced a nervous laugh, “Sister, how could I dare to hide anything from you! Look at you, your clothes are soaking wet, go change first.”
Shen Jiayan remained standing, “What did Su Sui ask you to do?”
Gao Wei bit her lip, “N-Nothing, really.”
But when she looked up, she saw Shen Jiayan’s fierce gaze. She immediately confessed everything Su Sui had entrusted her to do.
After she finished explaining everything, Shen Jiayan had regained her composure.
She glanced at the phone in Gao Wei’s hand and said, “Then just do as she said.”
“Huh?” Gao Wei looked bewildered. She wanted to ask, but Shen Jiayan had already turned and returned to the bedroom.
Gao Wei shrugged, turned around, and went back to her room to send a message to Su Sui: [Su Su Sister, my sister has agreed. Maybe we’ll leave tomorrow. Don’t worry, I’ll help you take good care of her.]
When the next morning came, Gao Wei had finished packing and was searching online for scenic, sparsely populated tourist spots in the country, when Shen Jiayan knocked on her bedroom door, “Aren’t you getting up to eat?”
Gao Wei assumed Shen Jiayan wanted to leave after eating, but after breakfast, lunch, and even when it was time for dinner, Shen Jiayan showed no intention of leaving.
Chewing the rice in her mouth, she said, “Sister, didn’t you say you would follow Su Su Sister’s arrangements? So, where are you planning to go? When are we leaving?”
Shen Jiayan looked at the darkening night outside the window, her expression somewhat fixed.
Her gaze swept past the windowsill and lingered on the potted green radish plant.
“It’s still too bright outside now, we need to wait a bit longer,” she murmured, seemingly lost in thought.
Gao Wei found this remark slightly unsettling, “Sister, what do you mean? We’re just going on a trip, not stealing chickens or dogs. Why do we have to wait until it gets dark?”
Shen Jiayan ignored her, just turned her head and continued eating.
Around 9 PM, when Gao Wei was starting to doze off on the sofa, Shen Jiayan emerged from the room dragging her suitcase and said to Gao Wei, “Let’s go.”
“Eh, where to?” Gao Wei followed her drowsily.
Shen Jiayan grabbed her arm, “To the train station.”
Gao Wei blinked in surprise, “Sister, it’s so late, why are you suddenly going to the train station?”
“Don’t ask. Hurry up,” Shen Jiayan urged.
“Oh, okay,” Gao Wei said, turning to go back to her room to get her suitcase.
But Shen Jiayan stopped her, “No need to bring anything.”
Saying that, she pulled Gao Wei out of the door.
In the small red car, Shen Jiayan handed the prepared high-definition video camera to Gao Wei.
Gao Wei looked at the camera in her hand, then at the heavily disguised Shen Jiayan, “Sister, what are you trying to do?”
“Don’t ask so many questions. Just hold this and film the back of our car.”
After saying that, Shen Jiayan started the car.
Gao Wei’s small, worn-out car was quite old. Every time it started, there was a “rumbling” sound that came out, which was quite jarring.
Normally, Shen Jiayan would habitually grumble a few words.
But today, she kept her lips tightly closed, her eyes occasionally checking the rearview mirror, appearing exceptionally tense.
Gao Wei found it strange, “Sister…”
“Shh, don’t talk. Hold the camera steady,” Shen Jiayan warned.
Gao Wei obediently fell silent, focused on the road ahead, and held the camera up a little higher.
And just as she raised the camera, a sedan without its lights on suddenly appeared in the lens, following them at a steady, unhurried pace.
Gao Wei’s heart sank.
It wasn’t because she was naturally observant; it was just too bizarre.
The place where they lived was considered an old, run-down neighborhood. The neighbors were mostly elderly aunties and uncles.
Their routines were stable; everyone turned off their lights and went to bed by 8:30 PM every day. Therefore, in the alley, not to mention a car without lights, one couldn’t even see a single person.
Now, a car suddenly appeared. Could it be a coincidence?
Gao Wei thought that if it was, it was too much of a coincidence.
Just as Gao Wei’s mind was in turmoil, she heard Shen Jiayan say casually, “Just as I thought. Ah Wei, call Ah Ji and tell him we’ll be there in 1 hour, and have him prepare all the necessary tools.”
Gao Wei instantly understood; so this was her sister’s purpose.
But she was still a little worried, “Sister, what exactly is going on?”
“What’s going on?” Shen Jiayan glanced at her, “Once we catch the person, won’t we know what’s going on?”
Shen Jiayan drove around the town twice. Only after completely confirming that the car was indeed following them did she drive towards the pre-arranged spot with Ah Ji.
That place was the most desolate factory in the north of the town. After she drove the car in, she took Gao Wei and slipped into the dark factory building to hide.
In less than 5 minutes, the car that was following them also drove into the factory.
As the rusty iron gate made a few grating, stiff squeaks, Shen Jiayan heard Ah Ji and the others’ voices coming from the courtyard.
“How dare you follow our boss, you pervert!”
When Shen Jiayan brought Gao Wei out, she saw a person with a black cloth bag over his head, tied up tightly and thrown on the ground.
Gao Wei was so frightened her face turned pale, “Sister… Didn’t you say you would hand the person over to the police?”
Shen Jiayan, however, was calmer.
“Of course, I will hand him over to the police,” she waved at Gao Wei, signaling her to step aside, “But before handing him over to the police, I need to make him spill everything he knows.”
