Obsessive Love, The Possessive Real Young Lady - Chapter 38
Su Sui’s words were like a needle, deeply piercing Shen Jiayan’s heart.
She knew that everything Su Sui said was right, but instinctively, she didn’t want to admit it.
She wasn’t running away, and she wasn’t scared.
She genuinely just wanted Gao Wei to be with the people she cared about. Even if she truly reached the end of her life.
She could see them in her final moments and make up for the regrets in her heart.
She truly thought this way she wasn’t selfishly running away!
All of this was Su Sui’s excuse, using Gao Wei, because she wanted to keep her. It must be so.
It was all to make her feel guilty, to make her blame herself, and then willingly stay here.
Yes, this was Su Sui’s goal and tactic!!
But why, even after figuring out Su Sui’s true intentions, was her heart still so heavy? It felt as if something was brutally tearing it apart, bloody, intensely painful, making even breathing difficult!
Shen Jiayan clenched her jaw tightly, struggling to hold back her tears, but they still uncontrollably spilled from the corners of her eyes, dripping onto her chest.
“You’re crying, so, this round belongs to me,” Su Sui said softly.
Her tone was calm, as if stating something utterly unrelated to herself.
Shen Jiayan raised her head and looked at Su Sui. She stared intensely at that cold and stunning face, seeming to want to etch the woman’s image into her mind.
Her heart was filled with anger.
Anger that Su Sui had schemed against her in this way.
And even more, hatred for herself.
Her mind was flooded with countless thoughts.
These thoughts were incredibly chaotic, tangled into a messy ball, making her head buzz.
Su Sui raised her hand and gently wiped away her tears. “You don’t need to worry about Gao Wei; I’ve already found a professional caregiver for her. As for you, it’s time to go home.”
Her expression was extremely gentle, her movements intimate, just like she was coaxing her closest partner. “Come back. Everything you once wanted, I’ve gotten for you.”
Hearing Su Sui’s words, Shen Jiayan’s pupils contracted sharply, and an icy malice shot out from her eyes.
She clenched her fists, her nails digging deeply into her palm, yet she felt no pain whatsoever.
Her throat choked up. “You really make me feel disgusted now!!”
Su Sui’s smile remained. “How could that be? I only did what I should have. Besides, shouldn’t you be thanking me? If it weren’t for my persistence, given Gao Wei’s physical condition, she absolutely wouldn’t have survived this summer.”
“She, you see, would have been like the leaves outside the window, slowly turning yellow, withering, and finally detaching from the branch to drift away with the wind.”
“And no matter how much you liked her, you ultimately couldn’t keep her. But I can make her live a little longer.”
Su Sui reached out a slender, fair finger and tucked the loose strands of hair behind Shen Jiayan’s ear.
She lowered her eyelids, a gentle curve emerging on her lips, and softly asked, “Am I right?”
Su Sui’s voice carried a mesmerizing, alluring quality.
When she lowered her eyes, she was like a pure flower, making people feel pity and a desire to cherish her.
Yet, her eyes were bright and clear, like two concealed dark springs, deep, dangerous, and daunting.
Shen Jiayan looked at Su Sui, her fingers slowly curling, her lips pressed into a tight line, her eyes empty and bewildered.
After a long time, she finally said hoarsely, “You… really are a lunatic.”
She turned her head away, not daring to look at Su Sui’s face again, afraid she might rush over and slap her two more times.
“Lunatic or pervert, whatever you call it. I did everything in my power to help you keep Gao Wei. In return, you must stay by my side. This is a fair trade.”
After saying this, Su Sui walked straight toward the door.
Shen Jiayan looked at her retreating figure, her heart twitching.
How did this woman manage to make her both love and hate her!!
Loving her tenderness, hating her indifference, and loathing her cruelty!
Shen Jiayan closed her eyes, suppressing the turmoil in her heart. After a while, she opened her eyes, turned around, and walked out.
The moment she stepped out of the room, she saw Gao Wei sitting quietly in a wheelchair outside the door.
The instant she saw her, she quickly concealed the self-reproach in her eyes and beamed, “Sis…”
Cutting off her unfinished sentence, Shen Jiayan rushed over and hugged Gao Wei, “I’m sorry, I came too late.”
Actually, she wanted to say even more, “I’m sorry, because of my cowardice, I almost hurt you.”
But she ultimately didn’t have the courage to say it out loud.
She knew Gao Wei too well if she said those words, Gao Wei would probably feel even more guilty.
Su Sui stood at the corner, watching Gao Wei and Shen Jiayan embrace, her heart a mix of feelings.
The three of them had vastly different personalities.
Gao Wei’s personality seemed weak, always timid. But she was the strongest and most optimistic of the three.
And Shen Jiayan’s personality seemed arrogant and spoiled, with a bad temper. But she was the most vulnerable and sensitive of the three.
She needed to be protected.
She needed to be loved by others.
At the same time, her kindness far surpassed the average person.
Only she herself was an out-and-out lunatic.
What she wanted, she was determined to seize, no matter the cost.
Su Sui slightly narrowed her eyes, her gaze passing over Gao Wei to look at Shen Jiayan. “Tell me, why did fate have to arrange for the three of us to meet?”
The sky outside the window had darkened, and in the hospital room, Gao Wei lay on the bed, chattering excitedly about how good the hospital was, how professional the doctors were, and even praising the caregiver Su Sui had hired to the heavens.
But Shen Jiayan knew that these were all Gao Wei’s words of comfort.
“Sis, you know what? My attending physician is a top expert in leukemia. When I first came to M City back then, I couldn’t even get an appointment with him. And their hospital even has a special antidote. And, and, their hospital’s bone marrow matching…”
“Alright, I know. You’ve said all this countless times. Doesn’t your mouth get tired?” Shen Jiayan stood up, interrupting her, and took the thermometer from the caregiver, “Here, take your temperature.”
“Oh.” Gao Wei took the thermometer, obediently placed it under her armpit, and casually said, “Sis, actually, Su Sui is a good person.”
“Where is she good?” Shen Jiayan countered, “If she were good, she wouldn’t have… Forget it, just don’t mention her in front of me again.”
Gao Wei pouted, but after hesitating for a long time, she finally spoke the words on her mind. “Sis, you have a prejudice against her. That’s why you can’t see her good points.”
“You’re still mentioning her, aren’t you!” Shen Jiayan made a gesture to playfully hit her.
“Aiya, can you let me finish talking?” Gao Wei interrupted her urgently. “You’re patient with me, so why can’t you be a little patient with Su Sui? She’s a patient too.”
“A patient?” Hearing this, Shen Jiayan found it absurd. “How is she like a patient?!”
Su Sui was so energetic; she tormented her for a whole day, leaving her sore for days.
How was she in any way like a patient?
Simply ridiculous.
“I’m not saying she’s physically sick,” Gao Wei said, sitting up and touching her own chest. “It’s here.”
“She has psychological issues.” Gao Wei sighed, and continued, “Su Sui must have had a very unhappy childhood, which is why she has become somewhat yandere and paranoid now.”
Gao Wei’s words pulled Shen Jiayan’s memory back to the past.
She remembered the first time she was alone with Su Sui, in the abandoned warehouse in the garden.
That day, a toy car someone gave her rolled through the crack in the warehouse door. To get the toy car back, she opened that dilapidated iron door.
When the door was opened, she saw Su Sui, small and thin, dressed in rags, covered in bruises, standing in the darkest corner, trembling.
No matter what she asked, Su Sui kept her head lowered and wouldn’t say a word.
Even when she approached and reached out to her, she would subconsciously hug her head and squat down, constantly repeating, “I’m sorry, I won’t dare to do it again next time.”
That sight made her heart ache greatly. Later, she often brought Su Sui along, and even helped her teach Su Lu a lesson several times.
She also filled the storage room where Su Sui was often punished with all sorts of toys.
It wasn’t until she discovered that Shen Wenshan treated Su Sui better than her that she began to bully and humiliate her, even burning all the toys in the storage room to ashes.
If what Gao Wei said was true, then Su Sui’s current state was truly due to her and Su Lu.
Gao Wei noticed the change in Shen Jiayan’s expression, and a hint of distress flashed in her eyes.
But in the next second, she deliberately raised her voice quite a bit, pulling Shen Jiayan’s scattered thoughts back.
“Generally, people like her are fine as long as you don’t touch their security trigger point. But whoever touches her security point, she will go completely crazy, without any reason.”
“Her security point?” Shen Jiayan asked.
“For example… you,” Gao Wei tilted her head to look at Shen Jiayan. “Think about it, why does Su Sui only obsess over you and not others? Why is she exceptionally sensitive only toward you?”
Gao Wei paused, and continued, “That’s because you are the root of her illness, and also the medicine she relies on for survival.”
Night was deepening, and the streetlights were beginning to glow.
Shen Jiayan drove her car towards the Shen family villa.
All the way, Gao Wei’s words kept repeating in her mind.
What root of illness, what survival medicine.
Gao Wei must have been scared by Su Sui, inventing all this nonsense to help her plead.
Su Sui had an unhappy childhood, but did that mean hers was good?
According to Gao Wei’s logic, she should also have psychological problems.
So why hadn’t she become like Su Sui? Not to mention her, Gao Wei’s background was far more tragic than both hers and Su Sui’s; she hadn’t known who her birth parents were since birth and was suffering from a terminal illness.
Gao Wei didn’t have psychological problems, so why was Su Sui so fragile?
It simply made no sense.
Su Sui was clearly just possessive because she couldn’t have what she wanted.
Shen Jiayan suddenly felt a little irritable, and seeing the Shen family villa complex getting closer, her annoyance intensified.
“Screech”
The tires rubbed against the road surface, making an ear-piercing scream.
Shen Jiayan slammed on the brakes, stopping the car by the roadside.
She looked up at the window with the light on.
And inside the window, Su Sui, wearing a milky white silk nightgown, was kneeling on the carpet.
One hand was clenched into a fist, the other held a leather whip, with which she was fiercely beating herself.
Fresh red blood seeped through the snowy-white nightgown.
Even the air was mixed with a faint smell of blood.
Accompanied by muffled groans.
Su Sui’s eyes were empty, and she muttered to herself through clenched teeth.
“You shouldn’t treat her like this. You love her, yet you can’t even overcome this bit of possessiveness. What right do you have to say you love her!”
“Your love is hypocritical, filthy, dirty, and ugly. You simply don’t deserve her!”
“That’s why she hates you and dumped you. Because Su Sui is a complete and utter lunatic, a psychologically twisted pervert!”
With every word Su Sui spoke, her hand movements grew heavier, until her clothes were ripped to shreds.
Naked, covered in scars and bruises.
“Crack, crack, crack”
And the sound of the whips just happened to cover up the approaching footsteps…
