Obsessive Love, The Possessive Real Young Lady - Chapter 30
Su Sui stood frozen in place, her eyes, once unreadable to Shen Jiayan, now brimming with a rage that seemed capable of igniting the entire bar in the next second.
Her voice trembled, hoarse, sounding as if it were squeezed out through clenched teeth.
Even the lights in the bar seemed to catch her fury, beginning to flicker ominously.
Standing under this erratic lighting, Su Sui appeared exceptionally terrifying.
Even more frightening than Chen Qianqian, who was bloodied from a beating she had just received from Su Sui moments earlier.
“Why?” Su Sui pressed on, stalking toward Shen Jiayan step by step. “Tell me! Why? You hid from me for three years was it because I wasn’t good enough?”
Shen Jiayan: “……”
Su Sui: “Was it because I lost you back then, that you decided to punish me like this?! Is that why you found a new toy to keep you company?!”
As she spoke, tears streamed down her cheeks, tracing paths down her neck until they dripped onto the neckline of her dress, soaking the fabric.
Shen Jiayan remained rooted to the spot, gazing at the woman before her who appeared fragile, helpless, and pitiable, but was, in her very core, utterly paranoid, stubborn, and vicious.
Heaven knew how terrified she was right now.
Ever since that fleeting glance in the rearview mirror of Gao Wei’s old red car three years ago, witnessing the madwoman like Su Sui, Su Sui had appeared countless times in her dreams, repeating all the terrible things she had done to her.
Whipping, assault, even forced… love…
They had reunited in their dreams countless times, tormenting each other countless times, with so much intimacy, so much entanglement but those were just dreams, nightmares one would eventually wake up from.
But now, she was facing reality, a reality whose end was unknown.
This was their first meeting and first confrontation after their roles had been swapped…
Facing this Su Sui, Shen Jiayan felt a sharp pain in her chest, like being pricked by countless needles, a dense wave of agony sweeping over every nerve ending, making her suffocate.
She slightly lowered her head, her gaze flickering, unable to even meet Su Sui’s eyes, let alone answer her questions.
Shen Jiayan secretly gritted her teeth, constantly reminding herself: I cannot be afraid. No matter how much guilt I feel, I absolutely cannot be afraid of Su Sui!
However, her prolonged silence extinguished the last shred of Su Sui’s patience.
Su Sui took two swift steps forward, grabbed Shen Jiayan, pulled her behind the bar counter, and smashed a bottle of XO onto the floor in front of her.
Then, with a loud smash, the glass shattered everywhere, the strong, pungent alcohol spilled across the floor, and the aroma instantly filled the air.
One bottle, two bottles, three bottles…
“Ah!” The surrounding patrons shrieked and quickly moved a few steps away, distancing themselves from the two. Some even fled the bar entirely.
But Su Sui kept pouring, only stopping when a circle of spilled liquor formed around their feet.
She gripped Shen Jiayan’s arm so tightly that she nearly crushed her bones.
This action caused Shen Jiayan to wince.
“Not talking, are you? Then never speak again!”
As Su Sui’s words fell, a sense of impending doom exploded in Shen Jiayan’s heart.
Inevitably, Su Sui’s actions seemed to mirror her thoughts. She reached under the bar and pulled out a lighter, flicking it open with a sharp snap until the flame lit up.
Su Sui leaned close to Shen Jiayan’s ear and whispered, “Let’s die together. That way, you’ll never abandon me.”
“How about that?”
Without waiting for an answer, she immediately aimed the flame at the puddle of liquor closest to them.
The tongue of fire quickly caught, the blue-tinged flame leaping up to cover half of Su Sui’s face, making her look even more monstrous and terrifying.
Shen Jiayan cried out, “Aji, quickly get the exti… Mmmph”
Amidst the piercing screams from the surroundings, Su Sui cupped Shen Jiayan’s face and kissed her.
The fire grew stronger, the smell of alcohol choked the air, and the people inside scattered and fled.
Only the two behind the bar remained motionless, seemingly engaged in a passionate kiss.
Su Sui kissed Shen Jiayan fiercely. If one looked closely, they might even notice a smile playing on her lips a smile bordering on madness.
Shen Jiayan felt breathless and suffocated.
But strangely, her brain seemed to have stalled, stopping all thought.
She stood there in a daze, allowing Su Sui to kiss her. The heart in her chest felt as if it had been set alight by the fire, beating wildly; every cell in her body clamored with tension and excitement over the kiss.
Her eyes were wide open, as if she couldn’t see the growing blaze or the licking flames that were about to reach the skirts of their dresses.
Just as her senses and thoughts were completely consumed by this life-risking intimacy, white smoke accompanied by a sizzling sound rose amidst the firelight.
The fire began to recede. Aji appeared behind Su Sui, holding a fire extinguisher.
In an instant, the fire was out, and Aji knocked the arsonist Su Sui unconscious with a heavy blow from his baton, right into Shen Jiayan’s arms.
Aji panted, looking at the unconscious Su Sui, then turned to a slightly irate Shen Jiayan: “Boss… this, this… should we call the police?”
Shen Jiayan glared at Aji, then shook her head, signaling him not to report it. She told him to clean up the scene and close the bar for the night.
She then dragged the unconscious Su Sui out of the bar, chose a secluded spot, and unceremoniously dumped her onto the sand.
Shen Jiayan sat down on a beach chair, lit a cigarette she hadn’t touched in a long time, her stimulated fingers trembling slightly. She glanced fearfully at the unconscious Su Sui lying on the sand.
Frustrated, she grabbed a handful of sand and threw it at her.
It didn’t satisfy her hatred, so she turned back, rummaged through the bar’s storeroom, found a shovel, and proceeded to bury Su Sui up to her neck in the sand.
Shen Jiayan dropped the shovel and sat down opposite Su Sui’s head, poking her forehead with her finger.
“You just decide to set a fire!”
“You just decide we should die together!”
“Do you have any idea how many plates I washed and how many deliveries I made to save up for this bar?!”
“Go mad, go crazy again!”
But looking at Su Sui’s pale and haggard face, her heart was a mixture of indescribable emotions.
She couldn’t understand what could have happened to make Su Sui turn into this. In her memory, although Su Sui had an extreme and dark personality, she would never have harmed her yet today, she tried to drag her into death.
Insane enough, wild enough, disobedient enough!
After a long while, she sighed, lay down on the sand, and her head unconsciously rested against Su Sui’s cheek. The night wind felt cool on her face.
She stared at the bright moon, a sense of melancholy welling up in her heart.
Su Sui, do you realize that the way you looked just now truly resembles how I once was?
Annoying, frightening, making everyone afraid to come near.
Shen Jiayan closed her eyes, but Su Sui’s words from just now replayed in her mind: “Not talking, are you? Then never speak again!”
A slight curve formed on her lips, and tears slipped from her eyes, tasting intensely bitter as they rolled into her mouth.
She hadn’t cried in a long time she had grown accustomed to being strong over the years. But now, for some reason, she couldn’t control her emotions.
Shen Jiayan opened her eyes, turned to gaze at Su Sui’s face, and suddenly felt that no matter how much time passed, her heart would still ache because of this person.
She still loved her.
It was just that this love was no longer pure; it was mixed with too much guilt, too much pain, too much hatred.
Complex emotions intertwined, forming an unsolvable knot in her heart.
That was why she ignored every email from Su Sui, deleting them without even reading them.
In countless sleepless nights, she even tried to numb herself with the content from the listening devices, trying to trick herself, to replace the love buried deep in her soul.
But seeing Su Sui again, she finally realized she couldn’t deceive herself any longer.
She still loved Su Sui, a love so intense it was like drinking strong liquor, burning her to the bone.
Shen Jiayan reached out and stroked Su Sui’s cold cheek. Her eyes lowered, and she murmured to herself, “I’m sorry. I apologize for stealing your 23 years of life. I’m sorry for what Su Lu and I did to you. I’m sorry… I’m sorry that I can’t continue to love you anymore. I’m sorry…”
Su Sui was woken up by the rain. When she awoke, she was soaked to the bone, her long black hair plastered messily to her forehead.
In the dim dawn light, there was only sand. As she struggled to get up, she realized half her body was buried in the beach.
Without guessing, she knew this was Shen Jiayan’s handiwork.
Instead of getting angry, Su Sui’s lips gradually curved upwards, becoming more pronounced and bolder as the rain washed over her.
Her Jiayan hadn’t changed; at least after she did something wrong, she would still punish her as before.
When she finally managed to dig herself out of the sand, the rain had softened considerably.
Su Sui didn’t know where Shen Jiayan had gone, so she headed back to the bar, intending to wait for her there.
Arriving at the bar entrance, she saw the ‘Closed’ sign hanging on the door.
Su Sui’s heart clenched involuntarily.
Had Shen Jiayan hidden away again?
Su Sui paced back and forth in front of the door, unsure where to go or how to find Shen Jiayan, when she saw a person walking slowly toward the bar, holding a flowery umbrella and cradling a cat.
Gao Wei was walking one step and looking around twice.
Yesterday, Aji had mentioned a madwoman came to the bar and nearly burned it down. Her heart had been uneasy ever since. She had intended to come see the state of her beloved bar.
But Shen Jiayan wouldn’t let her leave.
Gao Wei had a strange curiosity: the more people tried to stop her, the more she wanted to investigate.
So, Gao Wei sneaked out while Shen Jiayan was sleeping. She even brought Maoqiu (Fur ball) along, just in case she was discovered, so she could claim she had gone out looking for the cat
Just as Gao Wei was feeling proud of her cleverness, she spotted a disheveled person with long, unbound black hair and bare feet standing at the bar entrance, pacing back and forth.
Gao Wei thought, “Could this be the arsonist madwoman Aji was talking about?”
Gao Wei cautiously approached, observing carefully. She only relaxed once she realized the person was a sickly looking woman, just like herself.
She walked up and said, “Hey, who are you? Why are you standing here?”
Su Sui recognized the face under the flowery umbrella immediately it was the person in the picture with Shen Jiayan.
Like herself, she was a broken toy, easily manipulated by anyone.
