Obsessive Love, The Possessive Real Young Lady - Chapter 3
The sunlight piercing the car window cast a somewhat hazy, unreal glow on Su Sui’s profile.
“What did you say?” Shen Jiayan asked.
Su Sui slightly averted her gaze.
At that moment, Shen Jiayan fiercely gripped her throat, as if intending to crush the other party’s bones.
“Say it again!”
Su Sui knew the reason for Shen Jiayan’s anger. In the other woman’s eyes, she was merely a toy with no human rights, to be played with at will. Since she had no human rights, how could she commit an act of self harm without permission?
“I’m sorry, I forgot.”
Su Sui’s lips curved into an arc. She took Shen Jiayan’s other hand and covered her own eyes with it: “This is your right.”
As the eyeball beneath the four fingers, warm to the touch, gently rolled.
Su Sui looked quietly at Shen Jiayan with that amber-colored eye.
Her light, understated sentence made Shen Jiayan’s fingertips tremble slightly.
In that instant, she seemed to see another side of Su Sui.
A side so terrifying it was daunting.
Even Chen Qianqian’s phrase “karma” inexplicably fell into her mind, repeating continuously.
If one day the Shen family declined, and she, helpless, powerless, and without influence, fell into Su Sui’s hands, then her fate would be…
The thought was instantly rooted out by Shen Jiayan.
The Shen family was wealthy and powerful. Even if it truly declined, it would still be better than a maid’s daughter.
In this life, this lifetime, she would never fall into Su Sui’s hands.
Karma? That was even more of a joke.
The pressure in Shen Jiayan’s hand increased until Su Sui’s already sickly complexion became even paler and her brow slightly furrowed. Then, she smiled, withdrew her hand, and sat back in the passenger seat: “To the stables.”
Having said this, she closed her eyes to rest, conveniently missing the lingering, meaningful look in Su Sui’s eyes.
Halfway through the drive, Shen Jiayan was almost curled up.
She hadn’t eaten much at lunch and had drunk alcohol on an empty stomach. Now her whole stomach ached as if the flesh in her chest was being twisted together.
After the car stopped, Shen Jiayan frowned as she got out and walked into the club.
“Miss Shen, please follow me here for a simple physical examination.”
She was a VIP member of the club, not only having private horses but also being equipped with full-time dedicated accompaniment.
The person speaking was precisely Shen Jiayan’s exclusive attendant and private coach.
In her impression, this coach spoke and handled matters very gently. Facing such a person, even with Shen Jiayan’s bad temper, she rarely lost it with them.
But today, Shen Jiayan completely ignored the person’s presence and walked straight toward the changing room.
While changing into her riding attire, her stomach was still cramping, and the pain was even increasing.
Shen Jiayan put on her wear-resistant gloves while looking at herself in the full-length mirror.
Cold sweat beaded on her forehead, and her complexion was somewhat pale.
Shen Jiayan felt she was being quite self-destructive. Her stomach was hurting terribly, yet she insisted on dragging her discomfort to ride a horse.
Perhaps it was Su Sui, who usually obeyed her every command, challenging and defying her repeatedly today.
Or perhaps it was the discomfort caused by Chen Qianqian’s mention of working in the company at the dinner table.
In any case, she was now using the method of tormenting herself to torment everyone around her, hoping to be tormented enough to be admitted to the hospital. Maybe then she could finally see the elusive father she rarely saw.
After dressing completely, Shen Jiayan applied some lipstick, using the bright red to conceal her paleness. Looking at herself, who now had a touch of vitality, she brandished the whip in her hand, making a swishing sound in the air, and then, satisfied, walked out of the changing room.
When she arrived at the lobby again, she saw Su Sui standing with the private coach.
The look in Su Sui’s eyes toward her vaguely revealed distress.
It was that look.
If she was in pain, Su Sui naturally had to be in pain too.
Shen Jiayan hid a faint smile and looked away: “Is the horse ready?”
“Miss Shen, as you know. Before getting on the horse, we must conduct a physical examination. This is also for your safety…”
Without waiting for the coach to finish, Shen Jiayan dropped a phrase: “10 minutes,” and then turned to walk toward the outdoor arena.
Su Sui: “Jiayan.”
Shen Jiayan’s wrist was grabbed. She tried to pull away from Su Sui, but the grip on her wrist did not weaken instead, it intensified.
Su Sui was really becoming more and more audacious.
Just before Shen Jiayan could flare up, Su Sui’s cool, clear voice entered her ear : “Drink this.”
A soft object filled her palm.
Shen Jiayan tilted her head to look at the pouch of milk in her hand.
Ten years ago, she foolishly tried to exchange starvation for a small amount of fatherly love, but the result was only a stomachache. Because of this, Su Sui developed the habit of carrying milk with her.
As soon as her stomach started hurting, the body temperature milk would always relieve her pain immediately.
But now, the warm milk lost its intended meaning for the first time, instead becoming the first step in her rebellion today.
She threw the milk onto the floor, then viciously stomped on it with her heel. With the sound of bursting, the milk stained her tailored riding pants and boots, rolling and soaking into the marble floor, gradually forming a picture with a bizarre, strange, and somewhat desolate black-and-white style.
It attracted everyone’s attention instantly, and the vast lobby fell silent.
Under their gaze, Shen Jiayan smiled sweetly: “Such a hassle, my shoes and pants are dirty.” Then, she vanished from everyone’s sight.
The racecourse in the setting sun was cleared, and the golden residual light enveloped the stillness. Shen Jiayan rode a white steed, darting past like a gust of wind, carrying a faint fragrance.
The crack of the leather whip and the sound of the horse’s hooves produced bursts of neighing.
One lap, two laps, three laps…
The wind whistled past Shen Jiayan’s ears. The violent jolting made her stomach ache even more severely, and black spots started appearing in her vision intermittently.
Yet, despite this, she merely furrowed her brows, her hands tightly gripping the reins, and she spurred the horse to full gallop with all her might.
She only deliberately slowed down and looked at her provocatively when she passed Su Sui outside the track.
And this time, just as Shen Jiayan was about to swing the whip again, Su Sui, who had been enduring outside the track, reached out and blocked the horse’s path.
A wind had picked up sometime, blowing Su Sui’s long hair. It made her look even more delicate, but this woman, who appeared so fragile, now stood like an unbreakable wall, stubbornly blocking Shen Jiayan’s way. Facing the horse’s hooves that could land on her at any moment, she showed no fear, her gaze tightly locked on the person on the horse.
If Shen Jiayan hadn’t reacted fast enough and reined in the horse in time, the consequences would have been unimaginable.
Shen Jiayan patiently soothed the startled horse, then dismounted.
“Su Sui!”
With an angry shout, she viciously kicked Su Sui in the stomach.
That kick made the person who had blocked the horse collapse, falling onto the muddy track.
But she still felt unsatisfied, so she directly straddled Su Sui and used the leather whip in her hand to strike the beautiful woman.
One strike, two strikes…
Shen Jiayan raised the whip high, and Su Sui, who was covered in injuries, smiled at her again.
“Why torment yourself when I’m here?” Su Sui sat up and stared straight at her : “If you still feel unhappy inside, you can continue. I can take it.”
Hearing Su Sui say this, an unidentifiable emotion spread through Shen Jiayan’s heart, gradually making her nose sting and her eyes well up with tears. But she stubbornly refused to let them fall. The moment she lowered her gaze, Shen Jiayan put back on that mask of overbearing pride.
She used the whip to lift Su Sui’s chin, her eyes brazenly admiring the marks left on Su Sui’s neck and cheeks.
Shen Jiayan: “Guess what my dad would do if he saw you this injured. Would he beat me half to death again?”
“No,” Su Sui answered very simply.
But Shen Jiayan didn’t believe a word. Just half a month ago, she merely lightly pushed Su Sui in front of her father.
Her father immediately protected Su Sui tightly like a protective cheetah guarding its cub, even remembering to give her a slap in passing.
Shen Jiayan remembered her father’s gaze at the time. It was exactly the same as the one he had when he wanted to drown her, then only 5 years old, in the swimming pool.
Su Sui’s appearance stole all the fatherly love that originally belonged to her, so Su Sui should bear everything. She was not wrong.
Shen Jiayan retracted her scattered thoughts, snorted, and looked away.
“The usual rules tonight.”
She dropped this sentence and left the racecourse. Behind her, Su Sui took a deep, contented breath before slowly getting up to follow her.
The two entered the lobby and bumped into an acquaintance.
It was Shen Jiayan’s cousin, Shen Shihao.
He was blocking Shen Jiayan’s path with his new girlfriend and a few other rich second-generation peers.
Shen Shihao: “Seeing me and you don’t even know to call me ‘Cousin,’ and you want to turn around and leave?”
Shen Jiayan was already unwell, and seeing this cousin made her even more exasperated. This guy was more of a pretender than her, clearly a cynical playboy, yet he acted humble and polite in front of her father and her uncle, pleasing both brothers greatly.
She glanced at him and reluctantly spoke, “Cousin.”
Seeing Shen Jiayan yield, Shen Shihao only then slightly moved aside to make way.
But before she could walk a few steps, his voice sounded again.
Shen Shihao: “Oh, I forgot to congratulate Cousin and Miss Su.”
Shen Jiayan stopped, turned back to look at him: “What do you mean?”
“Didn’t Uncle tell you?” Shen Shihao feigned surprise: “Oh dear, how awful. I thought Uncle had told you the news ages ago.”
Shen Jiayan returned to stand in front of Shen Shihao, and this time, her eyes were clearly blazing with fire: “Say it clearly!”
Shen Shihao looked at her with disdain : “Uncle is planning to hold a party in three months. And this party is for the two of you.”
“One is to announce the recognition of Miss Su as his goddaughter and to gift her 10% of the group’s shares. Of course, the most important thing is the engagement ceremony of you, this illegitimate child of unknown origin.”
“My engagement ceremony?” Shen Jiayan grabbed Shen Shihao’s collar : “You’re lying to me, Dad wouldn’t do this to me!”
Shen Shihao laughed, a very unrestrained laugh: “It seems you really don’t know.” He stared at Shen Jiayan, saying word by word: “Then I’ll be kind enough to tell you everything. You are about to be married off by Uncle to the Zhang family’s gay son in a business political alliance. Do you hear me clearly now?”
