Obsessive Love, The Possessive Real Young Lady - Chapter 27
5 a.m., dawn was breaking.
Shen Jiayan, lying prone by the bed, was still fast asleep.
In her dream, she sat on the bay window, striking down at the person kneeling on the floor.
The person let out several low, painful sounds, but as these sounds reached her ears, they brought back a long-lost sense of familiarity, causing the Amazon to welcome its tropical rainforest season.
“Su Sui…” she mumbled out the two words in her sleep, causing the person unconscious in the bed to open their eyes briefly.
The oblivious Shen Jiayan, in her dream, walked closer to the person kneeling on the floor and lifted their chin.
But she saw a grayish white eyeball. The pupil was dilated and lifeless, without a hint of spirit, but full of fear, darkness, and death, and it rotated slightly.
In an instant, fear surged towards Shen Jiayan like a tide! She was so frightened by her own face that she collapsed onto the floor.
Just then, with a “click,” the door opened.
Shen Jiayan looked over. A figure stood in the bright light.
The person was backlit, making their features indistinguishable, but it was certain that they were wearing a long dress, high heels, had long flowing hair, and were holding… a whip!
Even the blurry outline still made Shen Jiayan feel a sense of authority and oppression.
The person slowly stepped forward, the “clack clack” sound of the high heels remarkably clear in the quiet air.
Shen Jiayan nervously grabbed her collar and swallowed. She wanted to speak but found her throat constricted, as if someone was strangling her, making her unable to utter a single word.
The person was getting closer and closer. She held the leather whip, her gaze fixed on Shen Jiayan, a smile playing on her lips, seemingly quite pleased with her state of distress.
“Su Sui.”
This soft call seemed to carry a hint of sweetness, making one’s bones tingle.
But upon hearing this tender call, Shen Jiayan’s body couldn’t help but tremble, and she became even more panicked and fearful.
Ah, how could she forget. She herself was Su Sui.
She fearfully looked at the other person’s face, which was pale, bloodless, yet blurred.
But subconsciously, she knew the other person was currently pressing their lips tightly together, watching their prey with eyes as sharp as a hawk’s.
She crouched down in front of her.
Shen Jiayan’s eyes slowly shifted downward with the other’s movement. She saw the person’s thick, dark hair spreading out like a waterfall, the ends partially obscuring the slightly open neckline of the long dress, yet still faintly revealing the collarbone and a beautiful, suggestive view.
Her chin was lifted by the whip, forcing her to meet the other’s gaze.
Cold fingertips traced back and forth over her blind right eye.
“Who allowed you to mess yourself up like this?”
A line that used to constantly be on her own lips, but now she was the one listening to it.
It left Shen Jiayan momentarily unsure how to respond.
Especially when faced with the other person’s eyes, which were still as deep as the ocean and utterly inscrutable.
It made her even more uncertain whether she should deny it, or simply acquiesce…
“Did you do wrong? Hmm?”
Another familiar phrase, but unlike her own, the drawn-out final syllable contained a hint of seduction, utterly provocative.
Shen Jiayan couldn’t see the person clearly, but she could smell a unique scent on them, mixed with a faint scholarly fragrance. The combination made her heart beat faster and faster.
“Su… Su Sui.” Shen Jiayan subconsciously called out.
But the other person seemed not to hear, continuing to close in until their nose almost touched hers. “You shouldn’t be hurt. You should listen to me obediently.”
Lowering her voice, their lips pressed together.
The kiss left Shen Jiayan utterly bewildered, unable to guess if the other person intended to hit her or merely torment her with this ambiguous sensuality.
Yet, she didn’t resist; she even felt a certain longing.
Shen Jiayan closed her eyes, feeling her body grow hotter and hotter. So hot it felt like it would melt, and she didn’t understand why.
She even thought, just sink into this. Allow the warm, moist temperature to continually lick at her lips…
“Gou Dan, stop licking!”
A lowered, unfamiliar voice made the immersed Shen Jiayan open her eyes.
She saw a fluffy brown puppy, constantly licking her face with its tongue, its tail wagging happily from side to side!
“Woof woof”
The barking echoed repeatedly in the room, completely pulling the still-dazed Shen Jiayan back to reality.
Startled, she reflexively recoiled, ending up sitting on her butt on the floor.
She looked at the scene before her in disbelief.
She had just been… by a dog…
The thought gave Shen Jiayan goosebumps all over.
“His name is Gou Dan, and he’s usually very obedient. He’s just a bit lecherous; he licks when he sees a pretty girl…” Gao Wei said, glancing up at Shen Jiayan.
She saw that her face was almost as dark as charcoal.
She quickly hugged the dog to her, saying insincerely, “Next time you lick people indiscriminately, I’ll take you to be neutered.”
“Woof!”
Gou Dan whined, seeming to half-understand, then obediently shrank into Gao Wei’s embrace, not daring to move.
Shen Jiayan couldn’t be bothered with the woman and the dog. She quickly got up and rushed into the cramped bathroom, washing her face thoroughly, wishing she could scrub the skin right off.
When she came out again, the person who had been sleeping on the bed was already up, feeding the few pets with dog and cat food.
Her frail appearance looked like she could collapse at any moment.
Hearing the movement, she looked up, “Have a seat first. I’ll get breakfast ready for both of us after I finish feeding them.”
Shen Jiayan didn’t speak, sitting on the sofa and staring at the toilet paper scattered on the floor from last night’s attempt to stop the bleeding. She finally asked, “You had a fever all night. Also, why wouldn’t the blood on your leg stop?”
“Oh, that.” The woman finished feeding the pets and turned to look for food in the cabinet. “Leukemia is like this. You get a fever when you catch a chill, and a small wound won’t stop bleeding. I’m used to it.”
Leukemia?! Shen Jiayan snapped her head up.
Her knowledge of this disease mostly came from news reports. She only knew that if a person with it couldn’t find a suitable bone marrow transplant, it was essentially a death sentence.
What she couldn’t understand was the other person’s casual tone, as if talking about something perfectly ordinary.
She couldn’t detect a single hint of sadness in her voice, only optimism.
What kind of person could be so carefree and indifferent when faced with such a serious illness, even managing to smile about it?!
“Here.” Gao Wei handed over a cup of instant noodles. “Thank you for last night. If you hadn’t taken care of me, I’d probably be chatting with Lady Meng by now.”
Shen Jiayan took the hot instant noodles without a word, a feeling of guilt welling up inside her.
Gao Wei: “By the way, normally speaking. Since I was in that state last night, shouldn’t you have taken me to the hospital?”
This question deepened Shen Jiayan’s guilt.
Facing those large, dark eyes, Shen Jiayan coughed a few times, “How could I? I didn’t know your name. Secondly, I’m penniless. Besides, if I took you to the hospital and the police got involved, wouldn’t I be sent back to the sanatorium…?”
The three reasons were perfectly valid, but they made the corner of Gao Wei’s mouth twitch. She didn’t know whether she should cry or laugh.
In any case, surviving and being saved by this mentally unstable rich young lady was truly a blessing from heaven.
Thinking this, Gao Wei smiled and extended her hand, “My name is Gao Wei. Gao from ‘gaoxing’ (happy), Wei from ‘qiangwei’ (rose). What’s yours?”
Three years and two months. A full three years and two months.
Su Sui tightly held the wine glass with a lipstick stain, her gaze deep and focused.
“Shen Jiayan, where exactly did you go? Why can’t I find you anywhere?”
As she spoke, she leaned closer to the dried lip print, vigorously sniffing the lingering scent.
It was faint, so faint she could barely smell it.
Su Sui lay on the floor, holding the wine glass, recalling their past together over and over again.
In her memories, she repeatedly kissed the dried lip print, aligning her lips with it.
Her eyes gradually became obsessive, then excited.
The next morning. The housekeeper knocked on the door. “Miss Su, the corporation has sent people to pick you up.”
A moment later, the door opened.
Su Sui was wearing a black long dress and a grey trench coat, which made her look even more slender, as if she would fall apart with a gust of wind.
She nodded slightly and said to the housekeeper, “Please ask them to wait. I’m going to see Mr. Shen.”
Pushing open the door to the first-floor maid’s room, she saw the man who was once elegant, now sitting in a wheelchair, his mouth crooked and eyes askew.
The moment he saw Su Sui enter, his eyes filled with terror.
Unfortunately, he could only make “ooh-wah ooh-wah” sounds.
Su Sui walked over, crouched beside Shen Wenshan, and took out the medicine he had hidden under the wheelchair, sighing softly, “How many times have I told you, all medicines have side effects. Why won’t you listen?” she said, putting it into her pocket.
“Don’t worry, I will definitely make sure you stay alive. After all, my Jiayan cares very much about you, her father.”
Su Sui’s tone was very gentle, but the words she spoke were exceptionally cruel.
Having said that, she walked to the wardrobe, took out the diary left by Yang Xinjie, and sat on the edge of the bed. “Where did we read to yesterday?”
Her fingers curled the pages, flipping through. “Here. Today I should read to you how they exchanged their feelings.”
“‘June 29th. Weather: Sunny. She came to see me, holding my favorite flowers, saying the words I most wanted to hear. We held hands for the first time, kissed under the sunset for the first time…'”
Su Sui gently stroked the handwriting on the page, a sweet smile on her face.
“‘Here, she said, ‘Lin Mu, I love you, very, very much. Only death can separate us, no, not even death…'”
Shen Wenshan struggled violently, a “hissing” sound coming from his throat. He seemed to want to yell at her to stop but couldn’t make any sound.
“What a pity, Lin Mu really died.”
Shen Wenshan’s pupils contracted. Mustering all his strength, he squeezed out a sentence through his teeth, “D-don’t, don’t mention, her!”
But Su Sui paid him no mind, continuing to talk to herself, “Today the corporation is holding an election for the acting chairman. How about giving this position to Shen Shihao? After all, your current state is thanks to him. He should really like this thank-you gift from me.”
Su Sui closed the diary, her tone leisurely, “Guess how long the Shen Corporation will last in the hands of that good for nothing?”
After saying all this, she closed the diary again, put it back into the secret compartment, turned, and walked out of the maid’s room.
