Obsessive Love, The Possessive Real Young Lady - Chapter 24
The weather in early April still carried a slight chill.
However, the flowers in the villa garden had bloomed, even more vividly than in previous years. Not far away, a gardener was pruning the flowers with shears. Sunlight filtered through the gaps in the leaves and branches from the treetops, shining upon the person on the swing, making her gleam radiantly.
Shen Wenshan sat in the pavilion not far from the swing, sipping tea and reading a newspaper, occasionally raising his head to observe the person on the swing.
It had been a year.
Over this past year, the thing his daughter mentioned most on the phone was, “Where is that girl?” In fact, her sudden return to the country was entirely driven by the pursuit of that girl.
Besides that girl, it seemed her world could no longer accommodate anyone or anything else. His daughter shouldn’t be like this, nor should she be this way.
His phone, placed on the tea table, vibrated.
Shen Wenshan put down his newspaper and checked the content.
It was from Assistant Li, containing only a short sentence: “Mr. Shen, according to the plan, she has already run out, and our people are following her.”
When he read this sentence, the corner of Shen Wenshan’s mouth curved slightly upward.
He looked up at Su Sui.
Good daughter, I’m truly sorry, but I’m afraid your plan to find someone upon returning to the country will be in vain this time.
Shen Wenshan smiled, put away his phone, stood up, walked to Su Sui’s side, and patted her shoulder, saying, “Jiayan, there are some social engagements in business today please accompany your father.”
But Su Sui didn’t even lift her head to respond, let alone reply. What was worse, she brushed the spot he had just patted with her hand, as if he were something dirty.
Then she continued sitting on the swing, flipping through the copy of Destiny in her hands, a book she had read countless times.
Ever since that girl and Su Ma (Mother Su) left, Shen Wenshan had hired people to renovate the entire villa, inside and out. Moreover, the house had acquired many more domestic staff some specifically for laundry and cooking, some for gardening, and even a group of bodyguards.
All of this was done so that she could live comfortably and safely upon her return.
Who would have known that on her very first day back, she not only moved back into the maid’s room but also meticulously restored the room where that girl had lived to a one to one replica. She even had the swing moved out of the abandoned storeroom and reinstalled.
At this moment, the gardener was working, and behind Su Sui stood two bodyguards.
Her attitude truly embarrassed Shen Wenshan, and his tone deepened, “Jiayan, treating your father this way is wrong.”
Hearing Shen Wenshan’s words, Su Sui turned a page of the book and said in a flat tone, “Mr. Shen, I am Su Sui. As for where your daughter Jiayan is, you should know better than I do.”
After saying that, she closed the book, stood up, and returned to the villa’s maid’s room, completely ignoring Shen Wenshan’s face behind her, which was as dark as the night sky.
Back in her room, Su Sui locked the bodyguards outside the door.
She held Destiny in her palms as if it were a treasure and walked step by step toward the closet.
Opening the closet, she found a pillow and a thin blanket inside. She took off her shoes and sat inside. The closet was not large, nor was it spacious.
To stay inside, she could only keep her knees bent.
Su Sui closed the closet door from the inside, cutting off the light, plunging her vision into complete darkness, and her heart began to pound violently.
The moment she woke up after that severe injury, the first thing she did was check on Jiayan, who had been chained to her. To her dismay, the person was gone. Su Sui tried hard to recall the last moment in her memory, but after the car accident, everything afterward was a blank.
Where did Jiayan go?
Could she be in danger?
Or did she leave while Su Sui was unconscious?
Countless thoughts swirled in Su Sui’s mind; she was terrified.
She had to find her.
But when Su Sui tried to get off the bed, she discovered her legs couldn’t exert any strength. So, she crawled out of the room.
Outside was as dark as inside the closet, and the unfamiliar environment made her even more frightened.
She called out the name that haunted her dreams in a dry voice, “Jiayan…”
After crawling for a short while, someone arrived.
She thought it was Shen Jiayan.
But the hope was dashed again the moment the light came on.
The person was a blonde, blue eyed foreigner.
Su Sui learned from that person that she had been unconscious for three months.
Furthermore, she had been confined to a luxurious villa, with servants attending to her every need, including eating, drinking, relieving herself, and sleeping. Forget about finding news of Shen Jiayan, she didn’t even have any freedom herself.
From then on, she lived like a dead person.
Until Shen Wenshan sent a few books over, seemingly to appease her. Su Sui closed her eyes, clutching the books tightly, savoring the feeling of being alive in that moment.
“Ding”
The phone signaled a notification.
Su Sui opened her eyes and took out her phone from her pocket.
Ling’er is ringing: [Boss, I’ve found the person for you. When will you pay?]
Ling’er is ringing: [Are you trying to default on the payment? Let me tell you, don’t underestimate me. Even if you are abroad, I can find you! Pay up quickly.]
Su Sui looked at the message on the screen while holding her phone, stunned for a long time.
This person really was impatient.
It was by chance that she had stumbled upon this person’s paid missing person ad. So, just to try her luck, she had sent the other party a photo and information about Shen Jiayan.
Who would have thought that this person was quite efficient? News of Shen Jiayan surfaced in just under two months.
It was a blurry photo of a woman in a blue and white hospital gown, sitting in a dining room eating.
Her head was bowed, so her features couldn’t be clearly seen.
But Su Sui could still recognize her.
It was Shen Jiayan, although she looked very thin and haggard.
But it was definitely Shen Jiayan.
“Ding”
Another debt collecting message.
Ling’er is ringing: [Quick! Pay! Up!]
Su Sui took a deep breath, then slowly replied: [I will certainly give you the money once I see her in person.]
After replying, she carefully put the books she was holding into a hidden compartment in the closet, next to Yang Xinjie’s diary and the red wine glass Shen Jiayan had used.
She let her phone keep ringing without further attention.
In the dilapidated small red car, Gao Wei waited for a long time without receiving any message, so she casually tossed her phone aside. She angrily pounded the steering wheel.
“Damn it,” she cursed under her breath.
It was really bad timing for the car to break down now, and on top of that, the woman named Su Sui had run off.
Immediately, Gao Wei’s wail filled the small red car, “My 100,000 yuan! Just like that, down the drain!!”
The more she thought about it, the more heartbroken she became, and she pounded the steering wheel again fiercely.
No, she couldn’t let it go like this.
She had gone through a lot of effort and put on quite a few sob stories just to get that 100,000 yuan.
Furthermore, after some investigation, she found out that the woman called Su Sui was actually named Shen Jiayan. Before this, she was a wealthy young lady who, after discovering she had been switched at birth, couldn’t accept the reality and thus developed mental issues, eventually being sent to a mental hospital.
Someone raised in wealth like that, even if she escaped the psychiatric hospital, would have a hard time adapting to life in the lower strata of society, especially penniless and mentally unstable.
Thinking this, Gao Wei immediately decided to activate her network again and search the nearby neighborhoods thoroughly, hoping for a positive outcome.
She leaned over and picked up the phone she had casually discarded earlier. She composed a message titled “Urgent Missing Person Alert” and posted it in a group chat called “Thousand Mile Family Reunion M City Group 1.”
While waiting for a reply, she drove to her usual small shop for a meal.
The shop owner smiled broadly when she saw her. “Weiwei, any news about your parents?”
Gao Wei shook her head, clearly accustomed to this.
“No, they are probably not in M City.”
“It must have been tough for you, child. But don’t worry, you’ll definitely find them.”
Gao Wei concealed the sadness in her heart and smiled up at her, “Thank you for your good wishes, Fourth Sister-in-law.”
Time passed as Gao Wei chatted intermittently with her Fourth Sister-in-law. Gao Wei finished every last bit of the hot bowl of wontons.
Just as she placed the bowl on the table, her phone rang.
Gao Wei looked at it, and the corner of her mouth gradually curved upward.
Fourth Sister-in-law, wiping the table, saw her smiling so happily and asked, “What good news is that? You look so cheerful. Did you get news about your parents?”
“No, I found the money I lost.” After saying this, Gao Wei stood up and rushed out of the shop.
“Run slowly, don’t fall.”
The Fourth Sister-in-law stood outside the shop, watching the person sprinting down the narrow street. Her thin frame was wrapped in oversized sportswear, and her conspicuous red short hair kept bouncing in the setting sun.
Such a lively and cheerful child, what a pity…
“The Master really has no eyes,” the Fourth Sister-in-law sighed and returned to the shop.
Gao Wei got back into the car and looked at the message sent by the group member, focusing on the small blue dot on the map.
She hadn’t expected the 100,000 yuan to be so close to her.
Without a second thought, she immediately started her worn-out little car and headed toward the destination.
Five minutes later, the small red car stopped by the roadside. Gao Wei stared intently at the figure of ‘Su Sui’ squatting in the corner of a wall.
She was wearing thin hospital clothes, her long hair was disheveled, and she was staring blankly ahead, looking utterly miserable.
This was her 100,000 yuan.
Gao Wei was just about to get out of the car when she saw the ‘100,000 yuan’ lift its head and look over.
Startled, she quickly ducked back inside.
As expected of someone from a mental hospital…
Just that look, that demeanor, was enough to be intimidating…
Gao Wei swallowed hard, guiltily shifted her gaze away, and continued observing the surrounding environment.
Suddenly, the passenger door opened.
Gao Wei turned around to see that the 100,000 yuan she had been dreaming of was sitting next to her, holding a broken beer bottle.
“What are you doing!!” Gao Wei almost screamed in fright, “We have no past grudges, don’t mess around!”
Shen Jiayan raised the beer bottle, pointing the sharp end at Gao Wei, “Drive. Take me somewhere.”
“I… I won’t go.”
Shen Jiayan raised an eyebrow, pointing at the large character on her chest.
“You can see it too. I just got out of the mental hospital. Don’t provoke me.”
“Don’t get agitated!!” Gao Wei immediately conceded, “I’ll go, okay?”
The entire drive, Gao Wei watched the ‘100,000 yuan’ nervously, afraid that her mood might suddenly turn unstable and she might kill her.
Fortunately, the ‘100,000 yuan’ remained silent throughout the journey and did nothing else.
Finally, Gao Wei brought her to the destination. It was already dark by then.
She looked through the windshield at the brightly lit, magnificent villa before her, lost in a daze for a long time.
It occupied the entire hillside, overlooking the forest area.
The villa’s exterior wall was light gray, dotted with dark gray stone pillars, looking very elegant.
She couldn’t help but let out an exclamation, “The person who lives here must be very rich.”
“They are rich, but they only have money left,” Shen Jiayan said, her eyes darkening as well. She pressed the beer bottle against Gao Wei’s chin again, “Take off your clothes.”
“Wh-what?”
Inside the villa, Su Sui took advantage of the darkness to sneak out and move to the corner of the backyard wall. She carefully moved aside a wooden plank leaning against the wall and saw the pitch-black hole.
She let out a long sigh of relief.
Just as she was about to bend over and squeeze in, she heard voices coming from the other side of the wall.
“I really won’t run away, I beg you. Just let me go back to the car…”
“Stop talking nonsense, hurry up and go over there.”
