Obsessive Love, The Possessive Real Young Lady - Chapter 16
The voice sounded frantic…
Had someone returned?
Shen Jiayan walked out of her room in a few quick steps and descended the stairs. Before she reached the first floor living room, she came face to face with Mother Su, who was ascending the stairs with one arm bandaged in a sling.
“Jia… Miss Jiayan…”
“Mother Su, what happened? Why is no one home? Where is Su Sui?”
She fired off a string of questions, but Mother Su stood petrified in place.
In her mind, the words that Su Sui, covered in blood, had whispered into her ear not long ago kept echoing: “Do you think Jiayan will hate you?”
She didn’t know how Su Sui had been injured, nor did she know how Su Sui had seen through her intentions at a glance.
But she didn’t have time to dwell on it. Su Sui was injured, and Shen Wenshan, Fu Jing, and Shen Shihao were all gathered at the hospital.
No one cared about her, and no one cared about her daughter. This was a golden opportunity for her.
So, she had found an excuse to rush back, wanting to take her daughter and escape the Shen family together.
But when she saw her daughter, Su Sui’s words kept ringing in her mind like a curse.
Would she hate her?
If it were before, she would have confidently said absolutely not. After all, her original selfish act of swapping her daughter into the Shen family was genuinely meant to be for her daughter’s good.
She didn’t want her daughter to live a poor and wandering life, or to be born with a murderer for a father.
But now…
She didn’t know.
Shen Jiayan urged her, “Speak up, are you deaf or mute?”
Mother Su looked at Shen Jiayan, her lips moved, and finally she spoke with difficulty, “They… they are all at the hospital.”
“Hospital?” Shen Jiayan furrowed her brows. “What are they doing at the hospital? What happened?”
“Did Su Sui put Fu Jing and her son in the hospital?” She then laughed. “Serves them right! As expected, Heaven has eyes. They’ve done so many bad things, and now they’re getting their comeuppance.”
Mother Su: She looked at Shen Jiayan, wanting to speak but holding back.
But Shen Jiayan didn’t notice Mother Su’s expression. After she finished laughing, she turned to Mother Su. “Right, where is Su Sui? Is she okay?”
“Su… Su Sui, she…” Mother Su stammered, “She’s being treated in the emergency room at the hospital. I came back to get her a change of clothes.”
“What!?” Shen Jiayan’s face suddenly changed after hearing Mother Su’s words. “Tell me again, emergency room!? What exactly happened to her?”
“I… I don’t know either…” Mother Su shook her head haltingly. “This morning, when I woke up, I found her lying in the courtyard, covered in blood. I was so panicked and didn’t know what to do. Fortunately… fortunately… Mr. Shen came, and only then was she rushed to the hospital…”
“Which hospital?!”
“People’s Hospital…”
Before Mother Su could finish, she saw Shen Jiayan vanish from her sight like a gust of wind.
She stared blankly at the empty stairwell, recalling the panic stricken look on Shen Jiayan’s face just now. A sense of fear suddenly welled up in her heart.
Her daughter seemed to care very much about Su Sui…
People’s Hospital.
Shen Jiayan rushed panting outside the emergency room. From a distance, she saw Shen Wenshan and Fu Jing waiting outside.
“Dad.” Shen Jiayan quickly ran to Shen Wenshan, asking anxiously, “What exactly happened? Why is Su Sui injured? How is she now? Is it serious?”
Shen Wenshan glanced at the dishevelled and messy Shen Jiayan, his face sinking, and he pursed his lips, unwilling to speak to her.
It was Fu Jing nearby who replied coolly, “What could be wrong with her? Just a lot of blood loss.”
Remembering what her cousin had said over the phone, Fu Jing felt a chill down her spine.
She knew Su Sui was crazy, but she hadn’t expected her to be this crazy.
Who would have thought that a young girl would stab three burly men and finally jump out of the car to escape?
It truly echoed that saying: you don’t fear the tough, only the vicious. You don’t fear the vicious, only the one who doesn’t fear death.
And Su Sui was the one who didn’t fear death…
Fu Jing shivered, not daring to continue the thought.
“A lot of blood loss?” Shen Jiayan mumbled, frowning.
What exactly happened last night after she left?
Why would Su Sui lose so much blood?
Before she could ask in detail, two police officers appeared before her.
“Hello, we are from the police station. Who reported the crime?”
They spoke and showed their badges.
Shen Shihao, who had been sitting in the chair observing with a cold eye, suddenly tensed up, looking exceptionally worriedly at Fu Jing behind Shen Wenshan.
This scene was instantly noted by Shen Jiayan.
The matter of Su Sui’s injury definitely had something to do with this mother and son.
“I reported it.” Shen Wenshan pushed aside the obstructing Shen Jiayan and walked straight toward the police officers. “Comrades, let’s talk over there.”
Shen Wenshan led the police officers away, leaving Shen Jiayan and the mother and son, Fu Jing, alone outside the emergency room.
Her gaze shifted back and forth between Fu Jing and Shen Shihao, finally settling on Fu Jing.
Fu Jing seemed to sense her stare and looked up.
“Jiayan, what do you mean by looking at me like that?”
Shen Jiayan merely smiled.
Her smile made Fu Jing’s heart skip a beat: “You’re getting more and more unruly.”
“Unruly?” Shen Jiayan slowly walked closer, stopping just an arm’s length away from the other person.
“I respect you as my elder and call you Auntie.”
“But if Su Sui’s injury has anything to do with you. Then, I promise I will make sure you and your son have no relationship whatsoever with the Shen family.”
After Shen Jiayan finished speaking, she turned and walked toward Shen Wenshan.
She left Fu Jing behind, staring hatefully at her retreating back, grinding her teeth.
Little savage!
I’d like to see who kicks out whom!
“Shihao, go get a blood sample from Su Sui.”
