Obediently, Lean on my Shoulder - Chapter 8
Chapter 8
Teng Ming was determined to see it through back then: if you shake off my hand, I’ll just hold it again!
To be honest, he was actually afraid that Fan Ye might fly into a rage at the time.
But he didn’t; that time, Fan Ye didn’t shake off his hand, but instead allowed him to hold it…
Looking at this guy now, with his mouth open, begging Teng Ming to feed him fried eggs.
The difference is like heaven and earth.
However, a sudden sense of being moved welled up in his heart, making Teng Ming feel his eyes grow hot.
Is this the legendary feeling of happiness?
“Thanks, wife…” Fan Ye mumbled while chewing, the smile on his face seemingly glowing.
Just then, the owner brought out Fan Ye’s breakfast, a very large plate filled with steamed buns, corn, sausages, bread, and the like.
It seems the owner is very observant!
After setting the tray down, Fan Ye gave Teng Ming a wicked smile and even winked.
Alright, Teng Ming admitted he was just charmed by him; his heart fluttered for a few beats, but he couldn’t easily tell that guy, or else he’d start showing off again.
Fan Ye picked up a fried egg from the plate and put it into Teng Ming’s bowl.
“Hmm? Why return one?” Teng Ming looked at Fan Ye, puzzled.
Fan Ye said, “You should also replenish your protein.”
These words were roguishly charming yet considerate.
Teng Ming felt a wave of emotion.
It is precisely these small moments of being moved that forge a long-lasting relationship, right?
However, this sentiment was quickly shattered by Fan Ye.
He saw Fan Ye pick up a sausage from the plate, intending to feed Teng Ming, saying: “Wife, open wide”
Oh my god, this guy in broad daylight, and the owner was sitting right there at the counter!
He certainly wasn’t going to open his mouth. “Eat it yourself, I’m full.”
Fan Ye smacked his lips and asked with intentional doubt: “Don’t you like eating sausages very much?”
Teng Ming bit his lip, feeling like he was a second away from cursing.
Fan Ye leaned close to his ear, “Tell me, do you like mine more?”
Yours?
You’re what?!
Even though this wasn’t the first time he’d been flirted with like this, it worked every single time—which was strange.
Teng Ming’s face turned red; he pushed Fan Ye’s face away with one hand and said, “Just eat your food!”
Fan Ye laughed happily, switched his chopsticks to his left hand, stabbed a bun and stuffed it into his mouth, while his right hand traveled from the tabletop to under the table, wandering from beneath the table toward Teng Ming’s vital parts.
Teng Ming shuddered and slapped Fan Ye’s hand away.
Fan Ye laughed even harder. Now he finally ate properly, but he dropped a classic line: “Your mouth says no, but your body is very honest!”
Although the booth was some distance from the counter, the hall was empty and no music was playing, so it was highly likely the owner heard Fan Ye’s words.
Precisely at that moment, the owner turned on the music.
Great, now it was certain the owner had heard Fan Ye!
Teng Ming felt he had completely lost face.
Teng Ming went back to the room to use the restroom; before leaving, he told Fan Ye to finish his meal and then return to the room to change clothes, because they were heading out immediately.
But when Teng Ming was all ready, Fan Ye still hadn’t returned to the room, so he went to the lobby to look for him.
The trays had been cleared; Fan Ye was sitting there playing with his phone.
From the side, his shoulders were very well-defined; because he was wearing a tank top, one could faintly see part of his pectoral muscles.
Teng Ming originally intended to go over and call him directly, but he noticed he was engrossed in his phone with a smile on his face. So, he quietly walked behind the booth, intending to startle him, but accidentally caught a glimpse of some chat content.
Someone had said something flirtatious to Fan Ye, and he had actually replied with something flirtatious back.
“I miss you so much!”
“Haha, really? I miss you too.”
Teng Ming felt as if his heart had been struck violently; he plummeted from the earlier feeling of happiness to rock bottom.
“Hey, time to go.” Teng Ming poked Fan Ye’s shoulder.
He didn’t want to be the kind of person who snoops on other people’s chats.
Even if that person was his boyfriend.
Fan Ye was startled, nearly dropping his phone. “What’s wrong with you? Ghosting around! You scared me!” His tone was somewhat heavy, and he quickly locked the screen.
Teng Ming saw all of this.
If your partner is a Taurus, or if you have a close friend who is a Taurus, then whatever you do, do not lie to them or keep things from them. Why say this specifically here?
Because people born under Taurus can easily see through your tricks. Seeing through them is one thing, but they are very good at playing dumb and pretending they know nothing. In reality, they see through you completely and are privately keeping a tally. When it accumulates to a certain point, it will erupt in various forms, and then you will know its power.
Teng Ming was a very typical Taurus of this kind.
Fan Ye knew this too, so while Teng Ming was pretending to be unbothered, he said: “That’s just a good friend. I only just found out he opened an inn in Dali, we were just chatting.”
Teng Ming nodded. “Oh! It’s time to go, go change your clothes.” Having said that, he sat down on the sofa opposite Fan Ye.
Fan Ye looked down at his clothes. “What, is it not okay for me to go out wearing this? Am I not handsome?”
Teng Ming raised an eyebrow. “You’re handsome, but we’re going cycling later; you’ll be cold in a tank top.”
“I won’t.” Fan Ye said, opening his phone and handing it to Teng Ming.
Teng Ming looked at the phone, then at him. “What are you doing?”
Fan Ye said, “My wife is suspicious, so of course I have to let him check my phone to prove my innocence!”
Teng Ming frowned. “What do you mean by that? How am I suspicious? Did I say anything?”
Fine, he was suspicious, and he did want to take the phone and check it, but he couldn’t do that.
Teng Ming really wanted to say this in a joking tone, but the tone he heard himself using wasn’t like a joke; it was more like resentment.
Fan Ye scrutinized Teng Ming. “Alright, I was wrong.” With that, he took back the phone.
These words immediately made Teng Ming angry; he stood up and walked toward the exit. “You’re not wrong! Let’s go.”
Fan Ye felt something was wrong with Teng Ming, so he decided to listen to him and go back to change. “Wait for me outside for a bit, I’ll change my clothes.”
About five minutes later, when Fan Ye came out of the room, he saw Teng Ming and Li Shuren sitting on rattan chairs in the courtyard, laughing and talking.
For some reason, Fan Ye just couldn’t stand the sight of Li Shuren.
Seeing Fan Ye come out, Teng Ming said, “Fan Ye, guess what? Li Shuren is also going for a ride around the lake! Let’s go together!”
“Alright, calling me by my full name in front of outsiders now.” Fan Ye said with some dissatisfaction. Then he paused, looked at the ready-to-go Li Shuren, and said to his boyfriend: “Also, you said a ride around the lake? When did we agree to go for a ride around the lake today?”
Teng Ming said, “We settled on it before we even came to Dali.”
“But we didn’t say that today.” Fan Ye looked at Teng Ming. “Today we’re still going to the Dali Ancient City!”
The tone of these words was very domineering, as if there was no room for discussion.
If the two of them were fooling around in the room, saying such things might have a flirting effect. But in this public place, it was a fuse to ignite a war especially since Teng Ming was already feeling a bit disgruntled.
After Teng Ming took two heavy breaths, he said: “By what right do you get to decide where we go? I am definitely going for a ride around the lake today. If you want to go to the Dali Ancient City, go by yourself!”
Go see your online friend!
Fan Ye’s eyes widened; he completely didn’t expect Teng Ming to suddenly blow up.
Seeing Teng Ming stand up and prepare to leave with Li Shuren, Fan Ye rushed over and grabbed Teng Ming’s arm. “Wait, am I your boyfriend, or is this guy?”
Teng Ming made a face of bewilderment. “That has nothing to do with who my boyfriend is!”
Fan Ye said, “Then what does it have to do with?”
“Don’t you have friends you know in the Dali Ancient City? You go see yours; there’s no need to drag me along.” After finishing his words, Teng Ming shook off Fan Ye’s hand and left with Li Shuren.
Fan Ye was stunned, watching the backs of Teng Ming and Li Shuren as they walked away, feeling like his lungs were about to burst from anger.
Fine, Teng Ming was right his little boyfriend’s intuition had always been very accurate. But he wasn’t just going to the Dali Ancient City to meet a friend; he just didn’t want to be with Li Shuren.
His partner had just walked off with someone else, leaving a bitter taste in his heart. Anger was mixed with jealousy, and within that jealousy was a powerless feeling of being afraid to lose him…
When had the old Fan Ye ever felt this way?
It could also be said that among his previous partners, not a single one had made him feel these things.
On his way to the Dali Ancient City, in order to stop the continuous surge of powerlessness within him, Fan Ye made a move born of a vengeful nature.
Not only did he meet the friend who opened an inn in Dali, but he also met a fan on Weibo who had been contacting him for a long time wanting to meet.
Not only did he meet them, he took photos.
Not only did he take photos, he let the other person “take advantage” (touch his abs).
Not only did he let them take advantage, he posted the photo to his Moments (Friend Circle).
After doing these things, Fan Ye didn’t continue to play with those fans (one could guess with their toes what some fans wanted). He found a café and sat down, pretending to read a book.
In reality, he wasn’t reading at all; he was staring at his phone to see if there was a “Like” or a comment from Teng Ming.
Fan Ye knew his little boyfriend very well. Regarding photos intended to trigger jealousy, Teng Ming wouldn’t curse or cry or exhibit any emotional behavior; instead, he would give it a “Like”!
Now, what Fan Ye wanted was to see Teng Ming’s Like, as that would prove he had seen the photo.
