Not A Stupid Beauty [Quick Transmigration] - Chapter 9
The next day, Shi Yu woke up in the guest bedroom.
Last night, someone had lost control and gone wild again, which caused her to pass out in front of the window. Maybe the guest room was closer, so that’s where she was brought. Or maybe, this was going to be her room from now on.
Shu struggled to sit up, her body aching. She looked around the room and felt more and more content.
The windows were clean, the sunlight came in beautifully, and the room was so big she could roll around on the floor if she wanted. The main colors were a soft pink and blue, which she really liked.
But who was this room originally for?
With Jiang Qiuyan’s personality, this was definitely not her style. So it must have been for someone she liked.
Pei Shuyu seemed to like the color blue…
Shi Yu’s mood sank. She didn’t know if she was a cuckoo taking over another bird’s nest, but to survive, she couldn’t afford to worry about it.
Every person for themselves.
In the Pei family, Pei Shuyu was the beloved daughter, while she was a despised illegitimate child. To save herself, this was the only choice she could make.
She told herself this, but she still felt a little uncomfortable. Shuiyu lay back down and covered herself with the comforter.
Her mother had once told her that to rise above others, you had to “eat” people. She couldn’t do that, so choosing this path to survive wasn’t wrong.
A little while later, she poked her head out from under the comforter and turned to lie on her side. She saw a pair of long, straight legs.
She looked up and saw Jiang Qiuyan standing by the bed, wearing a thin, silk nightgown.
“You… what are you doing…”
Shi Yu sat up suddenly, which made her whole body ache. She gasped.
Too much of a good thing can be bad. What they did felt nice and satisfying, but going overboard was a little too much to handle.
“Does it hurt a lot?”
Jiang Qiuyan sat on the edge of the bed and gently massaged Shi Yu’s aching back. Her movements were so natural that it felt like they had been a couple for a long time.
Shi Yu didn’t want to get used to this kind of closeness. If she did, she would have a hard time leaving later.
She pulled away from Jiang Qiuyan’s hand, hugging the comforter to herself. “I thought you went to work.”
Didn’t that alpha come here to call her back to work yesterday?
Jiang Qiuyan’s eyes darkened a little at the sight of her empty hand. But when Shuiyu spoke, her expression softened again.
“I am going to work, but I was afraid a certain little one would wake up and cry if I wasn’t here, so I decided to wait for her to have lunch.”
She had gone to a different room to shower so she wouldn’t wake Shuiyu.
Shi Yu’s ears turned red, and she lowered her head. “I wouldn’t cry.”
Jiang Qiuyan stared at her for a few seconds, then pulled her into her arms, rubbing her chin against Shuiyu’s nose.
“Then it seems like I’m the one who can’t leave my little baby.”
Shi Yu’s heart fluttered. She closed her eyes and leaned against her.
Someday, everything will go back to the way it was. So what if I enjoy this rare bit of warmth until then? I might never experience this kind of gentleness again in my life.
Neither of them said anything more, letting time pass in the quiet rhythm of their breaths.
After a long while, Jiang Qiuyan said, “Don’t overthink things. If you have a question, just ask me directly.”
This child’s mind is full of strange things. If I let her wander, I’ll be the one to suffer.
It’s better to just ask. I’ll tell her everything she wants to know.
Shi Yu nodded and rubbed against her shoulder. “I should go get ready.”
“Mmm.”
Jiang Qiuyan said yes, but she didn’t let go. And neither did Shi Yu.
Two minutes later, Shi Yu let out a little noise to remind her.
Jiang Qiuyan sighed in a way that showed how much she hated to let go. She kissed Shi Yu’s face hard, then reluctantly released her.
“Go on. Lunch will be ready after you get cleaned up.”
Shi Yu looked around and saw she had no clothes to wear. She looked up at Jiang Qiuyan, her eyes silently telling her to leave.
Jiang Qiuyan pinched her reddish earlobes, a laugh in her voice. “What? Should I take off my nightgown for you?”
Shi Yu quickly refused. She threw off the comforter while Jiang Qiuyan wasn’t looking and ran into the bathroom.
She really is like a startled rabbit. Jiang Qiuyan thought. A faint smile appeared in her eyes. She looked at the dolls on the table and the decorations around the room, feeling more and more pleased.
A month ago, she had just gone downstairs to get clothes for the omega that her assistant Lu Tong had prepared. When she came back, the omega was gone. Seeing the empty room, she felt a restlessness she had never experienced before.
She thought she should turn all of Haishi upside down to find the omega who dared to climb into her bed when she was weak and make her understand that she had done something she shouldn’t have.
Afterward, she remembered the omega’s soft face and sweet voice, and she felt that would be too cruel. It’s better to just lock her up. Since she liked to run away so much, she would make it so she couldn’t go anywhere.
This room had been redecorated at that time in a style a young girl would like: pink and blue wallpaper and a princess bed. The little omega would surely love it.
But the look on Shi Yu’s face just now seemed unhappy, as if she was worried about something.
Does she not like this style?
I guess it’s just what I assumed. I automatically thought a young omega would like these things. That’s a bad stereotype. She would ask Shi Yu when she came out and change it to whatever she liked.
The sound of water stopped. Shi Yu’s voice came from inside the bathroom. “Miss Jiang, can you please get me a set of pajamas?”
Shi Yu opened the door a crack, hiding her body and only showing a little of her flushed face.
Jiang Qiuyan opened the closet and picked a pink nightgown from a row of neatly organized ones. She stopped, holding it in her hand, and asked Shi Yu, “What kind do you want?”
“Whatever, anything is fine.”
Just something to cover me. I’m not picky. I don’t get to be picky anyway. Now she was a kept bird, so it was only natural to wear whatever her owner gave her.
Jiang Qiuyan’s footsteps moved away, then returned. A white silk nightgown was handed through the crack in the door.
“Wear this one for now.”
A simple style, a color that couldn’t go wrong, just like Shi Yu’s personality. Plain and unassuming, as if nothing really mattered to her.
But that was the biggest problem.
How can a person not have a single thing they like?
Anything is fine, whatever, just getting by… What’s the point of living like that?
This was not a good habit. She had to make her change.
Shi Yu came out wearing the nightgown. Her long hair, still half-wet, was draped down her back, soaking through the thin nightgown and revealing the bluish hickeys on her pale skin.
The nightgown was the same style as Jiang Qiuyan’s. It barely covered Jiang Qiuyan’s thighs, but on Shi Yu, it went down to her knees.
Shi Yu looked up at Jiang Qiuyan, who was indeed much taller than her.
Jiang Qiuyan walked over to her, rubbed the top of her head, and said with a smile, “Our little Xiaoyu is still a child. She’ll grow taller.”
Shi Yu nodded, her eyelashes fluttering.
That’s strange. Jiang Qiuyan knew what I was thinking.
The maid had already left after preparing lunch, leaving the two alone. They should have sat across from each other, but Jiang Qiuyan insisted on sitting next to Shuiyu. She didn’t want to eat the food in her own bowl, staring directly at Shuiyu’s chopsticks instead.
“Want to feed me?”
Their eyes met, and Shuiyu understood what she meant.
Jiang Qiuyan opened her mouth in a way that showed she was used to getting what she wanted.
Shi Yu: …
It seems she not only wants someone to sleep with, but she also wants someone to feed her.
And so, they ate their meal, taking turns feeding each other. When they were done, Shi Yu went to wash the dishes, but Jiang Qiuyan picked her up from the sink and carried her to the sofa, burying her face in Shuiyu’s neck and taking a deep breath.
“I don’t want to go to work.”
Shi Yu was surprised. She never thought Jiang Qiuyan would say something like that. Shouldn’t she be a workaholic who works 24/7?
She heard that after Jiang Qiuyan took over the company, its market value increased by hundreds of billions, and her own net worth had skyrocketed. She was the youngest alpha on the list of billionaires.
For a person like that to say she didn’t want to work felt unreal to Shuiyu.
“What are you laughing at?”
“Nothing. I just think…”
Jiang Qiuyan stared at her. “Hmm?”
“You suddenly seem like a real person.”
The moment Shi Yu finished speaking, Jiang Qiuyan bit her lips. Jiang Qiuyan held on to her lips, pressing down hard on her waist.
“That doesn’t sound like a compliment. I need to teach you a lesson.”
Her “lesson” was just kissing and touching. After a long, passionate moment, she finally had to get ready for work because of Jiang Qiunian’s endless phone calls.
“I should have just let Jiang Qiunian be the successor,” Jiang Qiuyan complained while putting on her shoes.
With all her shares and her mother’s investments and properties, she could spend money for generations without running out. Why was she working so hard?
Before, she didn’t care because she wasn’t interested in the things other rich people did. Work was a good excuse to avoid being set up on blind dates. But now it was different. She had Shi Yu.
She wanted to spend all her time with Shuiyu, nestling next to her and breathing her in, not staring at cold computer screens and reports.
She turned to cling to Shuiyu again, but Shi Yu pushed her away.
“Go on. How else are you going to support me if you don’t work?”
Jiang Qiuyan’s face fell. She grabbed her laptop and left, looking defeated. Shuiyu watched her sullen back, a smile on her face.
She has a childish side to her, too.
Her phone rang. She turned and went back to the living room to pick it up. The name on the screen made her smile disappear.
“Xiaoyu, my dad said you weren’t answering his calls, so I wanted to see if you would answer mine.” Pei Shuyu paused and said hesitantly, “If you’re free, let’s meet up.”
