My Wife, So Fierce! - Chapter 75
Zheng Yao mercilessly pushed Shen Baiyi’s face away, casually offering an excuse: “I’m still hungry.”
It wasn’t exactly a lie, she really hadn’t eaten her fill.
But Shen Baiyi’s eyes still held a trace of resentment, though joy clearly dominated. Just as Zheng Yao was about to step away, Shen Baiyi threw herself into her arms again, hugging her and gently swaying, demanding confirmation: “Sister really agreed, right?”
“Just trying it out,” Zheng Yao corrected sternly.
No sooner had she spoken than Shen Baiyi stood on tiptoe to kiss her again, her voice brimming with delight: “Then I’m Sister’s girlfriend now! Sister can’t go back on your word.”
Girlfriend…
The term made Zheng Yao blush, but she quickly feigned composure and nodded: “Understood.”
She wasn’t the type to break promises anyway.
It was just dating was she going to chicken out?
–
After defining their relationship, Shen Baiyi seemed even more devoted than before. When Zheng Yao went out, Shen Baiyi had already fetched her a new pair of chopsticks.
Beaming, she urged: “Sister, sit down quickly.”
Noticing Shen Baiyi sitting right beside her seat, Zheng Yao frowned: “Go back to your own spot.”
Did they have to sit shoulder-to-shoulder even during meals? How clingy.
“I want to be closer to Sister,” Shen Baiyi didn’t move, speaking with a hint of grievance. “I’ve seen other couples sitting together.”
Other couples?
Zheng Yao sat down, pretending to ask casually: “Who are ‘they’?”
Just who had been corrupting Shen Baiyi?
“Lots of couples do this,” Shen Baiyi didn’t name anyone specific, insisting confidently, “Sister thinks I haven’t seen how it’s done even if I haven’t tried it myself? Don’t try to fool me.”
Zheng Yao: “…”
When had she ever tried to fool her?
Thinking Shen Baiyi sitting glued to her was exaggerated enough, Zheng Yao was taken aback when Shen Baiyi picked up a piece of meat with her chopsticks and held it to her lips: “Sister, say ah!”
“You think I’m a three-year-old?” Zheng Yao clicked her tongue, biting the meat into her mouth. She snatched the chopbacks and nudged Shen Baiyi’s chair with her foot. “Move aside. If you keep being this clingy, we’re breaking up right now.”
Shen Baiyi: “…”
The joy slowly faded from Shen Baiyi’s face as she reluctantly stood up: “How can Sister throw around ‘break up’ so casually?”
Her tone was full of displeasure and hurt.
Seeing her upset, Zheng Yao also felt it was inappropriate: “I’ll be more careful next time.”
“Sister still thinks there’ll be a next time?” Shen Baiyi raised an eyebrow.
Zheng Yao ignored her childish question and continued eating her lunch.
Though Zheng Yao paid her no mind, Shen Baiyi didn’t seem bothered, obediently sitting across from her. While she didn’t insist on hand-feeding her anymore, her eager staring was overwhelmingly present.
Zheng Yao initially intended to ignore it and focus on her meal, but Shen Baiyi’s gaze grew increasingly bold, as if coated in honey, enveloping her entirely in its sticky sweetness.
“Stop staring at me,” she finally snapped, looking up.
Shen Baiyi had been watching her with chin in hands. Unoffended by the remark, she obediently stood up: “Then I’ll go help Sister wash the bedsheets.”
That was quite the statement.
The thought of the dampened sheets made Zheng Yao flush with embarrassment. She quickly stood up and grabbed Shen Baiyi’s arm. “Can’t you just sit still?”
Shen Baiyi replied innocently, “When I sit, I just want to look at you, sister.”
She was definitely doing it on purpose!
Unfortunately, Zheng Yao had no proof and could only concede, feeling stifled. “Fine, look all you want.”
It wasn’t like she’d lose a piece of flesh from being stared at a few times.
Zheng Yao tried hard to ignore her gaze but suddenly remembered something else. “Weren’t you supposed to pick up Bub and Yaoyao? Where are they?”
Why had she come back empty-handed?
Shen Baiyi was taken aback by the question.
She averted her eyes, a flicker of guilt in her gaze. After staring at the table leg for a few seconds, she calmly replied, “On the way, it suddenly occurred to me that if we went to pick them up together, they’d probably be happier. So I came back early.”
That sounded reasonable enough, and Zheng Yao didn’t doubt it. She nodded. “Alright, we’ll go after we eat.”
It had been nearly half a month since she’d last seen Bub and Yaoyao, and she missed them quite a bit.
After filling her stomach, she headed to the bedroom to change clothes. She had expected Shen Baiyi to cling to her like sticky candy again, but surprisingly, she was diligently clearing the table.
She looked unusually well-behaved.
Zheng Yao’s heart instantly melted. Considering how obedient Shen Baiyi was being, she decided to spoil her today and not tease her at all.
By the time she changed into a loose-fitting dress and came out, Shen Baiyi was still busy in the kitchen.
Zheng Yao couldn’t help but pause at the doorway, watching her intently.
Sometimes, she really felt like Shen Baiyi was like the mythical “Snail Girl” always finding chores to do, either in the middle of housework or on her way to it.
Within seconds, as if she had eyes in the back of her head, Shen Baiyi turned to look at her. “Are you ready, sister?”
“Mhm,” Zheng Yao replied.
She jingled the keys in her hand and raised an eyebrow. “How about I take you for a ride?”
Who in their right mind went for a drive in the middle of the day?
She said it deliberately, yet Shen Baiyi acted as if everything she said was gospel truth, nodding emphatically. “Okay!”
Zheng Yao chuckled.
So silly.
But it didn’t take long for Zheng Yao to realize she was the silly one. Shen Baiyi was a complete kiss addict, as if she survived on kisses, constantly seeking them out.
As soon as Zheng Yao got in the car and fastened her seatbelt, Shen Baiyi grabbed her hand.
Shen Baiyi’s tone was wistful. “Sister, we’ve never tried kissing in the car before.”
Zheng Yao: “…”
After a long silence, she swatted Shen Baiyi’s hand away and said expressionlessly, “Shen Baiyi, we’ve only been together for less than half an hour.”
In such a short time, did she expect them to have kissed in every possible location around the world?
“Fine,” Shen Baiyi withdrew her hand, disappointment written all over her face. “But don’t you think kissing in the car is romantic?”
Zheng Yao didn’t think so, but Shen Baiyi seemed genuinely let down.
Remembering her resolution to be extra loving and not tease Shen Baiyi today, Zheng Yao clicked her tongue, grabbed Shen Baiyi’s hand again, and pulled her closer.
Luckily, Shen Baiyi hadn’t fastened her seatbelt yet, so she leaned most of her body over. Zheng Yao planted a firm kiss on her lips.
With a smack, Zheng Yao released her. “There, romantic enough.”
Shen Baiyi suppressed her joy at being kissed by her sister and attempted to push her luck. “Sister, I want more.”
Unfortunately, Zheng Yao was afraid her poor kissing skills would embarrass her, so she remained firm-hearted at this moment: “Fasten your seatbelt, I’m going to start driving.”
Shen Baiyi: “Okay.”
She could only sigh softly and obediently fasten her seatbelt.
Although they didn’t get to kiss, the sensation of her sister’s lips from earlier still lingered on her own. Unable to help herself, she curled the corners of her mouth into a smile.
Sister took the initiative to kiss her.
She stole a glance but unexpectedly got caught.
“Peeking again?” Zheng Yao raised an eyebrow, speaking seriously, “No peeking. I need to focus on driving.”
Shen Baiyi: “Okay.”
Shen Baiyi withdrew her gaze and was about to turn to look out the window when she heard her sister’s voice follow: “And no looking at the window either.”
Shen Baiyi turned her head in surprise.
Zheng Yao: “Don’t think I don’t know you’re peeking at me through the window.”
“So you knew all along that I was looking at you?” Shen Baiyi came back to her senses, her heart overflowing with joy, “You never told me to stop before.”
Zheng Yao fell silent.
Why did Shen Baiyi have that “I’m so into this” expression again?
She simply tossed over the spare sleeping mask she kept in the car: “Put this on.”
That intense stare was too distracting for her driving.
Shen Baiyi picked up the sleeping mask but didn’t rush to put it on. Instead, she looked at her pleadingly: “Sister, help me put it on.”
How was this person becoming more and more presumptuous?
Was this what couples called “little pleasures”?
Zheng Yao didn’t understand but respected it. Taking the sleeping mask, she beckoned: “Lean your head over.”
Shen Baiyi obediently leaned her head forward, her beautiful face full of dependence and trust toward her.
Zheng Yao put the sleeping mask on her. The mask was too big, covering most of Shen Baiyi’s face. Her lips, still red and tender from being kissed earlier, appeared even more tempting beneath the black mask.
Unable to bring herself to pull her hand back, she pinched the soft flesh on both sides of Shen Baiyi’s cheeks, watching as her face deformed under her touch. She couldn’t resist lowering her head to gently bite her lips.
Without those eyes staring at her, the sense of guilt faded considerably.
Being held by the face and kissed like this, Shen Baiyi didn’t pull away. Instead, she lifted her face slightly, adopting a posture of complete surrender.
How could she be so obedient?
Zheng Yao’s movements unconsciously softened as she carefully traced her lips. Feeling Shen Baiyi’s breath grow hot and erratic, she knew she wasn’t as calm as she appeared.
Just as this thought emerged, Shen Baiyi suddenly sucked on her lips.
A tingling numbness instantly spread throughout Zheng Yao’s body, causing her to momentarily lose focus. The next second, Shen Baiyi had turned passive into active, responding to her with intense aggression.
Zheng Yao immediately pulled back.
Patting Shen Baiyi’s cheek, she said seriously: “Alright, I can’t get distracted while driving. Be good.”
Her gaze fell on Shen Baiyi’s lips, noticing how swollen and red they were, and instantly felt a pang of guilt.
She absolutely wouldn’t admit that she was the one who initiated the kiss.
Fortunately, Shen Baiyi didn’t press further. She just stuck out her tongue to lick her still moist lips and nodded: “Okay.”
The motion was inexplicably erotic.
Zheng Yao quickly averted her eyes, suppressing her emotions to focus on driving. Throughout the entire trip to the animal hospital, Shen Baiyi remained unusually quiet, making Zheng Yao somewhat uncomfortable. She glanced at her several times while waiting at red lights.
With the sleeping mask on, most of her face was hidden, making it impossible to see her expression.
Was she really being this well-behaved?
Zheng Yao couldn’t help overthinking she had assumed Shen Baiyi would be chirping happily like a lark after she agreed to be with her, so why did she appear so calm instead?
Was she taking her for granted now that she had her, or was she brewing some grand scheme?
Zheng Yao pondered this endlessly until they reached the pet hospital, where she finally got her answer.
This little rascal was indeed brewing something big.
The moment they stepped into the pet hospital, Shen Baiyi interlaced their fingers and held her hand.
Zheng Yao paused mid-step, lifting their joined hands and shaking them slightly. “What are you doing?”
“We’re a couple. Isn’t holding hands normal?”
Shen Baiyi wore an innocent expression, but Zheng Yao strongly suspected that if she had a tail, it would be wagging higher than anyone else’s. She was practically glowing with smug triumph.
“Or does Sister want to hide me away and date me in secret?”
As she spoke, Shen Baiyi slowly lowered her head. Even without seeing her face, Zheng Yao could imagine how dejected she looked.
So pitiful.
Zheng Yao lowered their hands. “Who said anything about dating in secret?”
Since they were already together, she wasn’t the type to shy away from responsibility.
