- My Omega Ex Begs For A Second Chance After Our Reunion
- Chapter 1 - Reuniting with Her After a Long Separation.
Lihua City, International Airport.
Even after two full years apart, Jiang Qiu still couldn’t help but freeze right in her tracks the moment they crossed paths again.
The Omega in her memory seemed entirely unchanged. Even though she was looking at nothing more than a silhouette from behind, she recognized her instantly. In that exact fraction of a second, her heart skipped a beat, leaving her feeling hollow.
Yu Sheng.
Her ex-girlfriend, her first love… the Omega she had once loved so deeply that she would have willingly given up everything for her.
She was also the very same woman who, two years ago, had stood right in front of her and heartlessly dumped her.
Jiang Qiu’s fingertips tightened their grip on the handle of her suitcase as her gaze locked onto the Omega’s back. Her breathing gradually grew rapid. The memory of Yu Sheng turning around and walking away all that time ago felt so vivid it was as if it happened yesterday. Jiang Qiu set her mouth in a hard, tense line, staring so intensely it felt as though she might burn a hole right through her.
“Jiang Qiu, I’m completely done using you.”
On that day in New York, the rain had been exceptionally heavy. Even her bright, vivid orange-yellow umbrella seemed to lose its color under the dark, suffocating storm clouds overhead. Facing Yu Sheng, Jiang Qiu had to stand there and listen to her utter those piercing, heartbreaking words.
The velvet ring box in her hand, one she hadn’t even gotten the chance to offer yet, was thoroughly drenched by the rain. The proposal she had meticulously prepared and all her bubbling excitement were instantly reduced to ashes, washing away into the dirt like the freezing rainwater. Then, streaks of lightning tore through the sky, illuminating half of the Omega’s face.
Yu Sheng’s eyes had lit up from the flash, but they were filled to the brim with smug satisfaction.
It was the smugness of successfully using someone, the triumph of achieving her goals. There wasn’t a single shred of love.
Not an ounce, not a millimeter. Jiang Qiu hadn’t seen any of it.
She was twenty-three that year when she was handed the biggest deception of her entire life. What made it worse was that she hadn’t even found out on her own. Yu Sheng had laid it all bare herself simply because she was finished using her and no longer had a need for her. From the very beginning to the bitter end, Jiang Qiu had been completely blinded by a web of lies spun by the Omega, entirely oblivious as she happily daydreamed about a future with Yu Sheng.
As an Alpha, she had envisioned the scene of running into Yu Sheng again countless times. She always assumed she would feel nothing but disgust or pure hatred toward the Omega. Yet, painfully enough, a fleeting wave of joy had actually flashed through her heart just now. Jiang Qiu knew she was utterly helpless against her own feelings. Even though two full years had passed, the past that should have been completely erased remained deeply etched into her mind.
Catching a glimpse of Yu Sheng looking as though she was about to turn around, the Alpha instinctively turned her body away to break eye contact, her fingertips trembling slightly.
She was terrified of meeting her, but she had also been terrified of never seeing her again.
During countless pitch-black nightmares, she would find herself staring blankly at Yu Sheng’s back, watching the Omega walk away from her over and over again. Before turning twenty, Jiang Qiu considered herself someone who always got exactly what she wanted. Her life had been smooth sailing without a single bump in the road, she had never truly encountered a setback.
As the sole heiress to Dominion, currently the largest winery in New York. Jiang Qiu had everything she could ever want at her fingertips. Her daily life was completely devoid of worries, having basked in success from the moment she was born. Raised in absolute luxury, everyone who knew her flocked to her with passionate adulation, whether genuine or fake. She was a person who had only ever heard praises.
Dominion’s massive influence stretched across all of New York. Rising entrepreneurs and high-society elites eager to secure a partnership held her in immense respect. Anyone who met her would bow deeply; absolutely no one dared to take advantage of her. When she was pursuing Yu Sheng, she had been entirely certain that she wouldn’t fail to catch this Omega’s eye. And just as she expected, they entered a relationship very quickly.
That was, until she suffered an unprecedented, devastating downfall at the hands of Yu Sheng.
Afterward, she decisively packed up, left New York, and moved to Lihua City in an attempt to completely forget her. She had honestly believed that with the world being as massive as it is, they would never cross paths again. She never could have anticipated such an unexpected reunion today.
Even after more than seven hundred days and nights, the deeply engraved marks of the past still could not be washed away.
“What’s wrong?” Wen Yan, who was standing beside her, finally noticed her unusual behavior and asked in a low voice.
Jiang Qiu snapped out of her daze. Her breath hitched for a moment before she replied, “It’s nothing.”
Wen Yan was soon to be her Omega fiancée. This marriage was a business arrangement negotiated and agreed upon by both of their families. Even though it lacked any foundation of romance, it represented the fresh start she was determined to make. Therefore, Jiang Qiu suppressed her swirling emotions, choosing to act as though absolutely nothing had happened.
It was merely a fleeting, passing glance. It didn’t mean they would actually interact or meet again.
The memories tied to Yu Sheng would sooner or later be entirely stripped from her life. She had already lost so thoroughly in the past, how could she possibly still secretly long for a shred of comfort?
Yet, her eyes inevitably drifted back toward that exact direction anyway. Following the Alpha’s gaze, Wen Yan looked over, but the crowd had already dispersed. The Omega hesitated for a moment before asking, “Did you see something?”
Yu Sheng’s figure had completely vanished, almost making the Alpha wonder if she had just experienced a hallucination. However, what she had seen just moments ago felt incredibly real. Jiang Qiu felt dazed for a second before she forced a faint smile, shaking her head as she spoke: “I must have misidentified them. Xiaoyan, let’s head home first to drop off our luggage.”
Wen Yan had already made up her mind to settle down permanently in Lihua City, and this was where she and Wen Yan would hold their wedding. Wen Yan had her own unavoidable reasons for this choice, and the Alpha naturally accommodated the other party’s wishes to the absolute fullest. She, too, intended to use their time here to get to know each other better and nurture their relationship.
Even though it was an arranged marriage set up by their parents, Jiang Qiu harbored no resentment toward it whatsoever. On the contrary, she was approaching this commitment with a deeply sincere and responsible mindset. To her, since this person was going to be her lifelong partner, she would make a genuine effort to build a harmonious life together. After all, affection could always be cultivated over time, and facing life with earnest dedication had always been her philosophy.
Furthermore, she couldn’t bear to see what Wen Yan had gone through in her past, which made her all the more determined to take excellent care of this Omega.
Once their bags were loaded into the trunk, Jiang Qiu and Wen Yan sat together in the back seat as the chauffeur drove them toward Chanyue Mingyuan. A quiet stillness settled over the interior of the vehicle. Jiang Qiu turned her head to look out the window. The trees and greenery blurring past failed to register in the Alpha’s eyes; she was visibly preoccupied with heavy thoughts.
After a short while, she lifted her gaze slightly and caught her own reflection staring back from the glass window.
The Alpha’s hair had been cut quite recently, with the ends barely reaching her jawline, and a few stray strands of her bangs were flipping up at her forehead. She reached up to press them down, but it did absolutely nothing. Giving up entirely, she pulled her hand back and meticulously studied her appearance.
Over the past two years, she had grown thoroughly accustomed to having short hair. The moment it grew even a tiny bit long, it made her feel incredibly uncomfortable. This discomfort bordered on an absolute obsession, to the point where she would often take scissors and trim it herself quite frequently.
Jiang Qiu considered her own features to be reasonably delicate. She possessed a pair of naturally thick, well-defined eyebrows that required no extra grooming, average-sized eyes, and dark circles under her lower eyelids that were hard to conceal. With a straight, elegant nose and quite excellent skin, she easily lived up to the word “beautiful.”
Unfortunately, the current her completely lacked the high-spirited, soaring confidence she once possessed back in New York.
Jiang Qiu could see the faint, lingering storm clouds deep within her own eyes. She couldn’t quite articulate her exact state of mind right now, all she knew was that the sudden appearance of that person had completely thrown her emotions into absolute disarray. It felt like the damp, heavy humidity of a rainy day, mistily wrapping around her heart. She was forcing herself to breathe, yet she found herself entirely unable to draw in a deep, satisfying breath.
Yet, the weather outside today was spectacularly beautiful, with absolutely no signs of rain.
The car was driving incredibly smoothly, but Jiang Qiu suddenly felt a wave of stuffiness wash over her, so she rolled the window down halfway. The chilly autumn wind was clearly a bit too harsh. As it gusted right into her face, the Alpha instinctively closed her eyes. The restless irritation in her chest seemed to ease up just a tiny fraction. Jiang Qiu took a deep, centering breath, only to suddenly hear Wen Yan let out a soft cough beside her.
The car window was immediately rolled back up, shutting out the rushing wind once more. Jiang Qiu turned around. “I’m so sorry. Was the wind too strong? Did it make you feel uncomfortable?”
The Alpha’s face was filled with genuine concern. Wen Yan kept her head lowered and shook it lightly. The Omega smoothed down her hair which had been ruffled by the breeze, casting a brief glance at Jiang Qiu with her pitch-black eyes before looking away again. Her voice was quite soft. “Please don’t worry, I’m completely fine.”
Jiang Qiu reached out, her fingertips gently brushing aside Wen Yan’s still-disheveled straight bangs. Looking at the Omega, she added, “If you ever feel uncomfortable, just let me know right away.”
“Thank you,” Wen Yan murmured, offering nothing more than that single phrase.
When she had met Wen Yan for the very first time, they were in the middle of discussing the details of their arranged marriage. The Omega’s family had arrived late, causing the atmosphere at the dining table to become painfully stiff, leaving Wen Yan sitting there as if she were on a bed of nails, repeatedly apologizing in a low voice. Jiang Qiu hadn’t felt an ounce of annoyance toward Wen Yan. Instead, upon sensing the Omega’s intense nervousness and anxiety, she had taken her outside to get some fresh air.
The Omega had thanked her softly, after which she seemingly had no idea what else to say, leaving nothing but the silent wind between them. Jiang Qiu understood that Wen Yan was a person of very few words and had also caught wind of the fact that this Omega was incredibly timid. She took the initiative to drive the conversation, and Wen Yan consistently responded to her words in a gentle, compliant tone.
Wen Yan always seemed to speak in an incredibly soft, mild manner, as if she didn’t possess a temper at all, displaying a shyness that almost bordered on a fear of strangers. Jiang Qiu had never seen this Omega get angry, nor did she have any idea what kind of situation would actually provoke her to anger. From the moment they met up to the present day, Jiang Qiu felt as though Wen Yan could accept absolutely anything. Even when faced with unfavorable circumstances, she would always internalize and deal with them silently on her own, never speaking up out of fear of causing trouble for others.
She really ought to show more consideration for this Omega. After all, this was her future wife, and she absolutely shouldn’t allow her peace of mind to be disrupted by someone who belonged firmly in the past.
The silhouette of Yu Sheng gradually faded from Jiang Qiu’s mind as her strong sense of responsibility reclaimed the upper hand. She had already promised to take proper care of Wen Yan. Furthermore, this was the Omega’s very first time visiting Lihua City, meaning she had no close friends to accompany her. Right now, the only person she knew here was her fiancée, so how could she possibly allow Yu Sheng to throw her thoughts into chaos?
The car glided into the underground parking garage. Jiang Qiu grabbed both of their suitcases and walked over to press the elevator button. Her heart had settled down quite a bit as she brought Wen Yan into their new home.
The apartment at Chanyue Mingyuan boasted an exceptional environment. This was a place she had specifically asked her close friend, Yu Kunian, to help her find. After putting the luggage away, Jiang Qiu walked back into the living room and noticed Wen Yan standing there in a daze. She pointed toward the newly installed sofa and said, “It’s a minimalist model. If you don’t like it, we can completely replace it, along with any of the other furniture.”
“Everything is wonderful, there’s absolutely no need to change anything,” Wen Yan replied.
Jiang Qiu didn’t press the matter further. She nodded while pulling out her phone. “I’m staying in the building right next door on the 11th floor. I’ve already sent the passcode to your phone, so you can head over whenever you like. You can rest for a little bit now, and then we’ll head over to attend the wedding banquet.”
Prior to their wedding, Jiang Qiu wanted to grant Wen Yan plenty of personal space to comfortably adapt to the new environment, so she didn’t plan on moving in together just yet out of fear that the Omega might find it awkward.
As for the wedding banquet, it naturally wasn’t theirs, but rather Yu Kunian’s. Jiang Qiu had deliberately pushed her return date forward specifically to attend Yu Kunian’s wedding today. After all, as a fiercely loyal friend of many years, Jiang Qiu absolutely could not miss it.
The wedding venue wasn’t far from their residential area, so Jiang Qiu simply drove Wen Yan there herself. Yu Kunian was currently caught up in a conversation with her two mothers. Jiang Qiu had no intention of interrupting them, but it wasn’t long before the other party spotted them and began walking over.
“This is Wen Yan,” Jiang Qiu said, her gaze resting on the Omega beside her as she introduced her to the person in front of them.
Yu Kunian offered Jiang Qiu a nod, then looked at Wen Yan with a polite, gentle smile. “I’ve heard a great deal about you. Pleasure to meet you.” Just as she finished speaking, an Omega stepped up to her side. The smile on Yu Kunian’s face deepened noticeably as she introduced her. “This is my wife, Song Minzhi, a professor at Lihua University. Thank you so much for coming to our wedding, please make yourselves entirely at home.”
“Miss Yu, Miss Song, happy wedding to you both,” Wen Yan responded with a hint of nervousness, looking at the perfectly matched couple before her. A faint glimmer of envy suddenly surfaced in the depths of her eyes.
Just as Jiang Qiu was about to speak again, her peripheral vision caught a figure that looked extraordinarily like Yu Sheng. Her words caught in her throat. She shifted her line of sight past Yu Kunian’s shoulder. That very figure was walking directly toward them, calling out to Yu Kunian in a thoroughly gentle voice. “Sister…”
The words the newcomer intended to say seemed to grind to an abrupt halt before they could be finished. Jiang Qiu’s eyes locked directly with theirs, and she froze completely.
The newcomer’s expression crumbled in an instant. Meanwhile, Yu Kunian spoke up once more. “This is my younger sister, Yu Sheng.” Failing to notice the drastic shift in Yu Sheng’s expression, she seamlessly continued, “Let’s get you introduced. This is Jiang Qiu, and this is Wen Yan.”
