My Husband is Suspicious - Episode 44
Eleanor sighed softly. In a way, not everything had been properly revealed. And she hadn’t considered that Dreid might be telling the truth.
Eleanor looked at the disarranged magic sphere and said quietly,
“I didn’t mean to think badly of you. It’s just that you…”
Then Dreid cupped Eleanor’s cheek. For some reason, Eleanor found it difficult to meet his eyes. She was confused about what was right at this moment. Should she look at him with the lingering discomfort in her heart, or should she completely trust Dreid?
Even as she was thinking that, Eleanor felt his gaze. More than anything, his hand was warm and his face was close. His faint breath seemed to spread around her lips.
“I’ll look into that bastard’s business.”
Dreid said again as if making a pledge. Then he slowly took his hand away. The warm warmth disappeared in an instant.
Then Dreid lightly kissed Eleanor’s cheek. As his soft lips brushed past, Eleanor naturally looked at him. He was smiling as if he knew Eleanor would look at him.
“Eleanor, I hope you don’t worry about this at all this time.”
“……”
“It annoys me even to hear that bastard’s name come out of your mouth.”
Dreid said, grinding his teeth. His bright blue eyes were filled with a strange heat. If Mackiv were right in front of him right now, he would kill him. Eleanor was about to say that nothing had happened with Mackiv, but stopped. After all, she had told him the day she returned from Delphos, and he had said that he already knew.
‘He already knew?’
Eleanor frowned. Only now did that fact enter her mind. How on earth did Dreid know that? Did Dreid really believe in her to say that? Eleanor was curious.
“Dreid, do you really trust me?”
When Eleanor looked up, Dreid met her eyes and said,
“Eleanor, even if you and that bastard hit it off, I can’t give you up.”
“Then you trusting me means…”
“I’ve trusted you from the start. I don’t know about you, though.”
He looked as if he was hurt that Eleanor didn’t understand his heart.
‘No, really, nothing happened.’
Eleanor felt a pang in her heart as if she had done something terrible to Dreid. But she still felt heavy in her heart to believe all of Dreid’s words. It was as if there was a stone in it. She kept thinking about how he had interfered with the work of the agency. She thought she had heard all the facts from him, but she felt trapped again.
Then Dreid said,
“Eleanor, aren’t you tired now?”
Dreid asked softly if he wanted to go to the bedroom with Eleanor. He was acting differently, as if he had forgotten the story they had just shared. Eleanor looked at the desk. The disarranged magic sphere was still there.
“I want to work on the magic sphere more. If you’re tired, go to sleep first.”
Eleanor didn’t feel like going to the bedroom with him. Dreid nodded surprisingly easily. He looked at Eleanor for a moment, then turned his gaze to the green magic sphere in the center.
“Eleanor, is there still no news from this magic sphere?”
“Yes, if there was a response, I wouldn’t keep that magic sphere on.”
Eleanor said somewhat listlessly. She was even thinking about turning off that magic sphere now. She kept it on with a faint hope, but now even that hope seemed forced.
“Maybe giving up is a good way.”
“Give up?”
“The present is more important than the past, isn’t it?”
Dreid met Eleanor’s eyes. Then he added, as if adding to it.
“Like you’re here in front of me now.”
Dreid spoke as if Eleanor was everything. As if he could only see her in front of him. His eyes were also directed at Eleanor. It was as if he wanted her to know his heart. Eleanor paused for a moment and then shifted her gaze to the green magic sphere. For some reason, she couldn’t look him straight in the eye right now.
‘Has my heart changed?’
That didn’t seem to be the case. She couldn’t talk about the pin clip, and she didn’t ask if he was the emperor’s bastard. All because she was afraid he would get hurt.
If she had no feelings for Dreid, she would have asked easily. She wouldn’t have cared how he would react.
Rather, it seemed that her belief in Dreid was not yet complete. As she thought that, Eleanor slowly opened her mouth.
“The past is also important to me. Maybe it’s really forced, but I still want to find it someday. That necklace.”
Dreid slowly nodded. She didn’t expect him to understand, but she was grateful that he listened silently.
He said as if agreeing with Eleanor’s opinion.
“You’ll be able to find it someday.”
“……”
“When the time comes.”
Dreid said, looking at the magic sphere. His handsome eyes were slightly furrowed and hardened. He seemed to have some worries. Eleanor unconsciously asked him.
“Have you ever desperately searched for something too?”
Then Dreid turned around. He looked at Eleanor for a moment and then nodded. Then he said with a strange smile.
“A few years ago, I also desperately searched for something. I’m glad I finally found it. You’ll be able to find it someday too.”
“……”
What was it that Dreid had desperately searched for? For a moment, she was about to ask him, but she couldn’t. She was afraid. She wondered if he had a past related to someone else.
In the meantime, Dreid looked at the green magic sphere for a moment and then left the room.
Eleanor looked at the door Dreid had left through and fell into thought.
‘By the way, does he know something about the necklace?’
But even if he knew, it didn’t make sense for him to say that. If he did, he would have found the necklace long ago. Why would Dreid hide that necklace?
‘It’s not even related to the Dreid family anyway.’
It didn’t make sense. Eleanor sighed and bowed her head on the desk. Her head was only complicated without anything being resolved properly.

Eleanor slowly opened her eyes. As soon as she opened her eyes, she saw a magic sphere that had been assembled to some extent in front of her. It was the result of matching it almost all night yesterday to control her complicated head. Now the magic sphere was almost completely matched. All that was left was to turn it on properly.
Her head was still tired, but she barely managed to pull herself together. The magic sphere, which was already in place, seemed to bring a lot of news. Eleanor turned on the magic sphere with a trembling heart. After a while, purple light floated around and the magic sphere turned on.
A smile naturally appeared on her face. Staying up all night yesterday was not in vain. Then she heard a knock on the door.
Eleanor got up with a light heart and opened the door. As soon as she opened the door, she met bright blue eyes. It was Dreid. He smiled as he met Eleanor’s eyes and said,
“Eleanor, did you stay up all night?”
“I was matching the magic sphere…”
He took another step closer. Eleanor stepped back slightly. Dreid looked at the distance that had widened for a moment. Then he slowly raised his gaze and met Eleanor’s eyes. There was a faint question in his gaze. It was as if he was asking why she was stepping back.
She still wanted to trust him and her feelings for him hadn’t changed, but she lacked complete trust.
Thinking about it, she seemed to have trusted him too easily. It was her first time experiencing something like that in Delphos, so it was shocking and she just wanted to rest, so she didn’t think deeply. No, Dreid was telling her calmly, so she just wanted to believe him. After all, the person she met at the cafe was also his half-brother.
But Dreid still didn’t tell her the decisive thing. What Dreid was saying was all raising questions. Especially the matter about Mackiv. Moreover, she couldn’t completely trust that he would investigate it himself now.
Then Dreid took another step closer and wrapped his arm around Eleanor’s waist. It was an instant. Eleanor raised her head. As she met his bright blue eyes, he smiled and whispered in Eleanor’s ear.
“Eleanor, I’m yours.”
His hand slowly stroked Eleanor’s waist. As Eleanor’s eyes widened, he chuckled and slowly stepped back. He lightly touched Eleanor’s cheek. Naturally, Eleanor came to look at him. As their eyes met, he slowly said.
“If you think I’m bad…”
“I’ve never thought you were bad.”
His eyes lit up as if he was interested. She had never thought Dreid was bad. But things that made her constantly suspicious kept happening, and she thought she would continue to suspect him until she knew the truth.
“I just think you’re…”
“Eleanor, is that magic sphere complete?”
Dreid naturally changed the subject. Eleanor frowned for a moment and then turned around. Just in time, the magic sphere was turning around, emitting a purple light.
“I completed it while staying up all night yesterday.”
As Eleanor spoke, Dreid said, looking intently at the magic sphere.
“What are you going to do with that magic sphere?”
His eyes seemed to be shining stubbornly for some reason. Eleanor looked at him for a moment and then turned her gaze away.
“It’s boring in the mansion, so I’m just going to lightly collect rumors from around.”
“I’ll tell you the rumors from around. I don’t think you need to go that far.”
A hint of coldness was revealed in Dreid’s bright blue eyes. He didn’t seem to like the idea of using the magic sphere itself.
Eleanor was somehow more suspicious of Dreid’s defensive attitude.
‘Why is he even stopping me from using the magic sphere?’
No matter how much she thought about it, she couldn’t understand.
‘Could it be that he already noticed that I’m tracking rumors about Mackiv?’
Dreid was quite quick-witted, so that was possible. Just the fact that he was being so defensive was enough. Eleanor didn’t like his reaction. Anyway, she had worked hard to assemble the magic sphere, and not using it was a huge loss.
Eleanor raised her head and said to Dreid.
“Dreid, I’ll take care of using the magic sphere myself. It’s not like I’m going to be in danger just because I use the magic sphere anyway. I’m not going around outside.”
