My Gorgeous Wife Relies on Her Beauty to Commit Crimes - Chapter 2.1
After the kiss, Shen Jin lay quietly on the bed, her expression calm as if she had returned to a familiar place, her features slightly relaxed. Xie Jing looked down at her face, Shen Jin’s eyes were drowsy, hazy as they gazed at the ceiling. Xie Jing asked softly, “Aunt Shen, do you know who I am?”
You, who are you?
Shen Jin’s lips parted slightly. She should know the person before her, but her mind was muddled and heavy.
Xie Jing leaned closer. “I’m Xie Jing.”
Xie Jing.
Shen Jin’s mind was blank, overwhelmed only by a helpless heat that swept through her body.
It was humiliating because she knew what this was.
Desire came swiftly and fiercely, uncontrollable.
“I’m Xie Jing. Does Aunt Shen know who I am now?” Xie Jing lowered her lips close to Shen Jin’s, hovering in a near-kiss. A figure surfaced in Shen Jin’s mind, and she whispered, “Xie Jing.”
Shen Tuo’s girlfriend.
“I’m here.”
Xie Jing found herself pinned beneath Shen Jin somehow, their positions had reversed.
Shen Jin’s eyes were bright with moisture, slightly lowered as she looked at the woman beneath her, as if deep in thought. But Xie Jing knew she was drunk too drunk to be rational. Otherwise, her hands wouldn’t be wandering so freely.
Xie Jing closed her eyes, her smile hidden in the darkness. The lush mountain scenery was drenched by a sudden downpour, and in the solitude, a cry escaped. The light drizzle grew heavier, the rainstorm arriving with urgency and intensity. Xie Jing let out a gasp, wrapping her arms around Shen Jin’s neck.
Shen Jin looked down at the glistening wetness on her fingers. She was truly drunk so drunk she wasn’t thinking clearly.
Otherwise, she wouldn’t have ended up in bed with her son’s woman, indulging so recklessly.
Morning arrived, playful sunlight dancing across the walls. The room had only the sheer white curtains drawn, the blackout blinds neatly tied to the sides. Shen Jin’s internal clock adjusted automatically she opened her eyes just as the alarm clock on the bedside table struck exactly seven.
Shen Jin pulled back the covers, about to rise, when she suddenly froze. Looking down, she saw a slender, elegant hand resting unnaturally on her flat stomach.
The owner of that hand lay beside her on the pillow, still deep in sleep, undisturbed by Shen Jin’s movements.
It was Xie Jing.
Shen Jin’s body stiffened.
Outside, a commotion erupted. “Xie Jing! Are you awake?”
It was Shen Tuo, knocking on the door next door.
The pounding made Shen Jin’s heart clench. She watched as the sleeping woman beside her slowly opened her eyes, gaze unfocused at first, then sharpening into awareness as she took in Shen Jin’s rigid posture on the bed.
Xie Jing blinked, then flashed Shen Jin a bright smile. “Good morning, Aunt Shen!”
Her grin was sweet, her hair adorably tousled from sleep, adding an innocent charm.
Shen Jin lowered her eyes, her gaze landing on Xie Jing’s collarbone where several red marks stood out starkly.
Xie Jing stretched lazily under the covers, showing no trace of awkwardness at having ended up in her boyfriend’s mother’s bed. She nuzzled into the blanket and murmured, “So noisy. I’m not done sleeping yet.”
Shen Jin sighed. Xie Jing paused, her face half-buried in the sheets as she mumbled, “Why is Aunt Shen sighing?”
“Get out,” Shen Jin said coldly.
What? Xie Jing wondered if she’d misheard. Propping herself up on her elbows, the blanket slid down her bare back, revealing everything the wild evidence of what Shen Jin had done to her the night before.
Shen Jin averted her eyes, unable to bear the sight. “Leave my room,” she repeated.
Xie Jing’s smile vanished.
She hadn’t expected the person who was so proactive last night to turn cold and distant by morning.
Xie Jing did have feelings for Shen Jin, but she also had her pride. Without hesitation, she rolled up the blanket and slid off the bed, heading barefoot toward the door. Shen Tuo was still knocking outside, his voice clearly audible inside.
“Xie Jing, didn’t you say it’s been ages since you returned to the country? I was planning to take you out today. Are you a pig or something? I’ve been knocking for so long, and you’re still not up?”
Angry, Xie Jing strode forward and grabbed the doorknob. Suddenly, a force pulled her back. She struggled, but Shen Jin didn’t let go. The two wrestled near the door, Xie Jing trying to open it while Shen Jin twisted her arms, lifting and pinning her against the door before pressing her body against her. Xie Jing gasped for breath as Shen Jin lowered her head, her hot breath brushing against her.
It was a silent battle of wills.
Outside, Shen Tuo continued, “Are you getting up or not? You’re usually up early for workouts. Is my family’s bed that comfortable? Not even a peep from you.”
Xie Jing looked up, her amber eyes flashing with a provocative smile. Her lips curled mischievously. “Shen, mmph!”
With both hands pinning Xie Jing’s, Shen Jin couldn’t stop her from speaking. Without thinking, she lowered her head and sealed Xie Jing’s lips with her own.
The moment their lips touched, an electric current seemed to pass between them. Both fell silent, locking eyes. Shen Jin loosened her grip, and Xie Jing stopped struggling. Her eyes fluttered shut as her hands rested on Shen Jin’s shoulders, deepening the kiss.
Shen Tuo’s voice outside became indistinct. Shen Jin hadn’t expected Xie Jing to be even more alluring than she’d imagined, nearly losing control again. She quickly placed a hand on Xie Jing’s thigh, glancing at the phone on the bedside table, ringing at the worst possible moment. Outside, Shen Tuo had already disappeared.
It was Shen Jin’s driver calling. The boss hadn’t shown up at her usual work time, so he was checking if there were other arrangements.
Shen Jin turned to answer, “No changes. Still heading to the company. Wait for me a moment.”
As she hung up, the door behind her cracked open Xie Jing had slipped away.
Shen Jin stood still, phone in hand, before finally letting out a resigned smile and heading to freshen up.
Xie Jing came downstairs right after Shen Jin left.
Shen Tuo sat bored at the dining table, where a lavish breakfast was spread out. Shen Jin’s portion had been eaten and cleared, leaving two untouched plates. He greeted Xie Jing half-heartedly, “Morning, Sleeping Beauty.”
Xie Jing raised an eyebrow, unfazed by the morning’s incident. “What was all that noise earlier?”
Shen Tuo glared at her, his disheveled appearance lacking any intimidation. Xie Jing burst out laughing. “What? Does Young Master Shen need someone to spoon-feed him?”
He rolled his eyes. “It’s all your fault. I wanted to sneak you out this morning, but you were dead asleep. Now my mom’s ordered me to accompany her to Old Master Luo’s 70th birthday tomorrow.”
“Just go then,” Xie Jing said nonchalantly, sitting down to eat.
Shen Tuo muttered, “I heard Luo Hong is back.”
Xie Jing ignored him, focusing on her meal. Shen Tuo propped his chin on his hand, his gaze landing on the left side of Xie Jing’s neck. Suddenly, his expression shifted. “Hey, what’s that red mark on your neck?”
Xie Jing let out a surprised sound and asked, “Which side are you talking about?”
“Left.” Shen Tuo frowned. Why did it look so much like a hickey? Who had Xie Jing been with last night? Weren’t they supposed to have returned together?
Xie Jing waved it off casually. “I’ve been a little allergic since changing environments recently.”
Shen Tuo was still scrutinizing her when she smiled at him and said, “Thank you for your concern, Young Master Shen. It’s nothing serious.”
Shen Tuo coughed twice. Maybe he was overthinking it.
He then proposed, “You have to accompany me to the birthday celebration this time! As my plus one!”
Xie Jing rubbed her temples in frustration. “Will Aunt Shen agree to that?”
Shen Tuo gritted his teeth. “I knew she wouldn’t let me off so easily. Just watch me handle it!”
Xie Jing’s eyes curved into crescents as she nodded at Shen Tuo, her expression full of trust, which made Shen Tuo’s thoughts stir again. He reached out to take her hand but was swatted away.
