My Brother's Arranged Marriage Partner Is My Boyfriend - Chapter 69
Bai Nanxing felt there was no need to continue eavesdropping on the rest of the conversation. He didn’t even want to take his belongings; after descending the stairs lightly, he put on his shoes and walked straight out.
Mo Leyang was leaning against the car door waiting. Seeing Bai Nanxing come out so quickly, empty-handed, and with a look on his face that wasn’t quite right, he knew at a glance that something must have happened inside.
However, Mo Leyang did not ask directly. Instead, he waited for Bai Nanxing to approach and said, “Didn’t you want to get your things? Why did you come out so fast? Or, did they not let you take them?”
Bai Nanxing said nothing. He looked up and gazed at him quietly. At this moment, his heart felt incredibly complicated; for a moment, he didn’t know what kind of attitude he should have toward Mo Leyang.
If he hadn’t heard the truth tonight, he wouldn’t have harbored any resentment. Regardless of whether he was Bai Yi’s biological son in the end, Bai Yi had raised him for so many years after all, and he had accepted his fate.
At least, it wouldn’t be like this.
In his heart, there was nothing but hate—nothing but hate.
Mo Leyang sensed that things were very wrong. Seeing Bai Nanxing’s wet, red eyes confirmed this even more. He paused for a moment, then stepped forward and pulled the boy into a tight embrace. He stroked the boy’s back along the spine, offering comfort as he asked, “What’s wrong? Did that guy named Bai give you a hard time?”
Bai Nanxing pursed his lips and still said nothing. He tried his best not to let out any sound of sobbing, but fearing he might lose control, he simply buried his entire face in Mo Leyang’s chest.
Mo Leyang roughly understood. He didn’t continue asking, and after holding him quietly for a while, he grabbed the boy’s arms and pulled him back slightly. “So, can you tell me now what happened in there?”
“It’s nothing,” Bai Nanxing said, stepping past him toward the passenger side to open the car door.
But just as he turned, he was yanked back by Mo Leyang, pressed directly against the car, and firmly imprisoned between Mo Leyang’s arms.
“You’re lying.” Mo Leyang felt angry at this attitude. “If it were nothing, your eyes wouldn’t be red.”
Bai Nanxing’s emotions came and went quickly. Given a little time to ease them, he returned to his usual nonchalant appearance. Bai Nanxing gave a small laugh, one hand restlessly tracing patterns on Mo Leyang’s chest as he hummed, “I’m about to break free from the Bai family and will never have to be controlled by Bai Yi again. Can’t I be a little moved by such a big event, Senior?”
Mo Leyang rarely became obsessive over things, but he vaguely felt that Bai Nanxing was hiding something specific from him, and his seventh sense told him that this matter was no small thing.
If he didn’t get to the bottom of it, something might go wrong later.
Furthermore, with Bai Nanxing’s personality, he wouldn’t come to him for help even if something was wrong.
Unless Mo Leyang asked.
“Junior, do you think I’ll believe that?” Mo Leyang grabbed the restless hand and bit it lightly, not too hard. “Or do you think I’m the type of person who is easily fooled?”
Releasing his mouth and using the light from the streetlamp, Mo Leyang noticed several peculiar marks on Bai Nanxing’s wrist.
Calling them marks was inaccurate; they were actually tattoos.
Several snake-shaped tattoos.
When they were having sex before, he had never paid special attention to the position of the wrists. Now, looking closely, these tattoos seemed completely out of place on Bai Nanxing’s skin.
Moreover, he felt that with Bai Yi’s previous strict supervision of Bai Nanxing, he would never have allowed Bai Nanxing to randomly tattoo anything on his body.
That meant these tattoos were something Bai Nanxing had gotten done in secret.
“Do the tattoos look good, Senior?” Bai Nanxing asked suddenly with a smile.
Mo Leyang looked up, intending to say, “Junior, it turns out you have such a rebellious side too,” but before he could speak, Bai Nanxing continued.
“Senior, did you know? Slitting one’s wrists doesn’t cause death. No matter how deep you cut, you won’t die because the platelets will automatically coagulate. So, no matter how deep the cut is, a person won’t die; they will only feel a lot of pain.”
Mo Leyang was completely stunned.
But Bai Nanxing acted as if he couldn’t see the expression on his face and continued smiling. “Once upon a time, I was very curious about the scenes of wrist-slitting shown on TV. Does cutting a few marks really make a person die? So, I took a knife and tried to make a few cuts on myself to see if I would actually die in the end. The result I got was that simply slitting your wrists doesn’t kill you. It only makes you bleed a lot, causing you to faint before being sent to the hospital with a half-dead body, only to recover and continue living a sickening life day after day.”
“Later, I thought those scars were too ugly and was afraid of scaring others, so I specifically had someone tattoo a few snakes over them. Aren’t they special?”
Bai Nanxing spoke expressionlessly, as if he were telling a flat story without any emotional peaks or valleys, as stagnant as a pool of dead water.
Mo Leyang said nothing. He leaned his lips down and lightly kissed the spot, saying, “They look very good.”
Bai Nanxing didn’t respond to that but said, “Take me to the bar. I’m not going back to the dorm tonight.”
“Are you going to find Du Long?”
“Mhm.”
“How do you know that he… to you…”
“Brother Long wouldn’t!”
Mo Leyang felt that the old man harbored ill intentions, which is why he spoke subconsciously, but looking at Bai Nanxing’s expression, Du Long didn’t seem to be what he appeared.
Bai Nanxing didn’t bother to explain to him. After pulling his hand back, he said, “If you won’t take me, then you can leave now. I’ll take a taxi myself.”
Seeing that Bai Nanxing was about to leave, Mo Leyang immediately grabbed him. “What, you won’t ride in your husband’s car, and you want to ride in some wild man’s car instead?”
This little thing was truly getting harder and harder to serve.
“Thank you,” Bai Nanxing said.
Mo Leyang could hear that this ‘thank you’ was very reluctant, but the fact that he could say it at all was not easy, so he didn’t do anything else.
Along the way.
Neither of them spoke much. The atmosphere in the car was a bit gloomy, much like a young couple who had just finished an argument and were ignoring each other.
But Mo Leyang cared too much about what happened earlier and couldn’t help but speak up. “Do you… know Du Long very well?”
“Mhm.”
“How well?”
Bai Nanxing wasn’t in the mood tonight and didn’t feel like explaining. “Better than anyone.”
Mo Leyang suddenly became very unhappy. “Better than you know me?”
Bai Nanxing knew this pervert’s jealousy was acting up again. If they really went to the bar, they might end up fighting. He simply said, “Just take me back to the dorm. No need to go to the bar anymore.”
Having achieved his goal, Mo Leyang showed a triumphant smile. “As you wish.”
Just like that, Mo Leyang stepped on the gas all the way back to school.
It was already past midnight when they arrived. The entire campus was silent, with only a few room lights on while the rest was pitch black.
Mo Leyang was worried Bai Nanxing might fall. After getting out of the car, he simply picked the boy up to carry him upstairs.
But this was school, and there were surveillance cameras everywhere. Bai Nanxing didn’t want to become famous this way, and since Mo Leyang was so popular at school, he didn’t know what kind of rumors would spread. He resolutely refused.
“Mo Leyang, put me down!”
“Aren’t you tired? Is it not to your liking to have someone specifically serve you by carrying you upstairs?”
Bai Nanxing struggled desperately. “I don’t need you to serve me! And this is school. You’re a shameless pervert, but I still want my dignity!”
Because Bai Nanxing struggled so violently, Mo Leyang was forced to put him down. He acted aggrieved and said, “We’ve already exchanged rings. Is there a problem with me carrying my wife upstairs? Or is it that you, Junior, only treat me as your little lover and want to keep me hidden from the light forever?”
Bai Nanxing thought to himself: Some ‘little lover’—what kind of little lover is nearly 1.9 meters tall?
However, it was true that he didn’t want others to know about his relationship with Mo Leyang. It was just too conspicuous.
He didn’t want to spend all day being the subject of rumors.
“Silence means consent.” Mo Leyang hooked his lips into a smile and leaned down to whisper in Bai Nanxing’s ear, “Young Master Nanxing, are you planning to keep me as your kept man forever? I’m very good in bed and can completely satisfy your needs. Please don’t look for anyone else.”
Bai Nanxing was somewhat speechless. This guy was addicted to acting, wasn’t he?
But if there was to be a play, it required two people. He would just humor Mo Leyang.
“Sure,” Bai Nanxing said with a slight smile. “As a little lover, you must listen to your benefactor. If I find you being disobedient, I’ll just find a new little lover to keep.”
Mo Leyang was so charmed he felt intoxicated. He felt an itch in his heart and wanted to do something, but the little thing was clearly not in high spirits. If he really started getting handsy, he’d probably be banished to the ‘cold palace.’ He held himself back. “As you command, Young Master Nanxing.”
The two went upstairs and returned to their respective dorms.
Only now did Bai Nanxing have time to check his phone. He found that Yan Mo had sent him many voice messages, all asking if he was coming back tonight.
After turning the doorknob, he saw that Yan Mo had indeed left the door unlocked for him.
“Star Baby, you’re finally back.”
Bai Nanxing took off his coat and hung it up, giving a brief “Mhm.”
When he walked to his bed, he noticed a large envelope sitting on the desk.
But there was no name signed on it.
Picking it up, he could feel it was a mobile phone.
Bai Nanxing found it strange. He picked it up and asked, “Yan Mo, who sent this envelope?”
Yan Mo answered honestly, “A senior gave it to you. He said he knows you and asked me to help pass this envelope to you. Oh, by the way, that senior also said you have to look at this thing by yourself; you can’t show it to anyone else.”
Bai Nanxing had a bad premonition, but he didn’t open it immediately. Instead, he threw it onto the bed and went to the bathroom to take a shower.
After putting on his pajamas, Bai Nanxing climbed onto the bed and slowly opened the envelope.
It was a very new brand-name phone, and it was actually turned on. Aside from the original software that came with the phone, there was only one unnamed file sitting on the interface.
The bad premonition in Bai Nanxing’s heart grew stronger and stronger. His intuition told him not to click it, but since the other party had personally delivered it, if he didn’t look now, he would have to look eventually.
Death sooner or death later—he was going to die either way.
Worried there might be sound, Bai Nanxing specifically plugged in earphones.
After preparing himself mentally, Bai Nanxing clicked on the unnamed file.
In the next second, the content inside the file made his entire body tremble uncontrollably.
