My Boss Transmigrated Into a Maid and I Became Gay - Chapter 36
Lu Ying kept her guard up, crawling back another two steps on the mattress.
Even with her blurred vision, she could tell this was definitely the 999-square-meter bedroom and not the modest guest room at President Jian’s house.
What’s going on? Didn’t she write “The End”? Why was she back in the book? Or was this just a regular dream?
Lu Ying took a deep breath and gave her calf a sharp pinch.
“Ouch!” It hurts!
She really was back in the story. But if she’d already finished the book, what plot could possibly be left?
Wait… before worrying about the plot, she had a more immediate crisis: how to face the President Jian standing in front of her.
Should she keep acting like an NPC? It would be beyond awkward to interact with the “Maid version” of her boss as her actual self.
The lights flickered on, and the maid stood up to approach her. Lu Ying hesitated but didn’t dodge; she let the woman scoop her up.
In that warm embrace, Lu Ying instinctively went to rest her head on the maid’s shoulder, but the woman’s arms stiffened, holding her at a slight distance. Lu Ying had to awkwardly loop her arms around the maid’s neck just to stay steady.
Lu Ying stared at her. Jian Qin was looking straight ahead, refusing to meet her eyes.
She seems… unhappy.
We just got together in real life! Shouldn’t she be happy to see me like this? Lu Ying thought.
It wasn’t her imagination—they were moving much faster today. She was plopped down on the edge of the bed in record time. Jian Qin put her shoes on for her, and they headed toward the luxury bathroom.
Since they had only just started dating, Lu Ying’s heart was still fluttery. She saw the maid’s hand dangling nearby and, without much thought, reached out to hold it.
The moment she brushed against the maid’s palm, Jian Qin yanked her hand back as if she’d been burned. Not only did she refuse the touch, but she also sped up her pace, walking so fast she practically left a draft behind her.
Lu Ying: “…”
Where did my maid go—the one who used to take every chance to touch me?! Why is she being so cold and distant today?!
The boss was practically sprinting ahead, and Lu Ying followed behind, her cheeks puffed out in a pout. What is her problem? We’re together now, and she won’t even let me touch her!
Lu Ying’s sleepy brain couldn’t process the reason, so she just let her silent resentment simmer.
Entering the blindingly sparkly diamond bathroom, she squinted at the dozen or so maids that had appeared out of nowhere. Suddenly, a streak of pettiness hit her.
Lu Ying pointed to two maids who looked particularly eager. “The rest of you out. You two, help me wash up.”
The two maids looked timidly at Jian Qin. Jealous as they were, they never dared dream of replacing the head maid in her exclusive duties.
Jian Qin knit her brows. “Miss, your morning routine should be handled by me.”
“Don’t you hate touching me?” Lu Ying huffed, stubbornly looking away. “Then let someone else do it.”
The two bystander maids exchanged a glance, their eyes sparkling with gossip. Why does it feel like there’s some scandalous secret between the Young Mistress and Hua Hua?!
Jian Qin didn’t want to fail the “mission,” so she pressed a button to signal the others to lead the Miss to her throne. But when she actually saw another person start to wipe Lu Ying’s face, she couldn’t take it.
“Your movements are too rough. I’ll do it.” She snatched the towel from the trembling maid and took over.
Lu Ying wanted to glare at her, but the diamonds were too bright, so she just squinted and let out an angry “Hmph!”
Her pupils flashed a faint red, signaling her irritation.
Jian Qin sighed internally.
When she woke up in this world today, she felt no joy, only a desperate urge to return to reality. Although she suspected a subtle link between Lu Ying and the Young Mistress, she wanted to live in the real world now.
Just like the first time, a voice in her head dictated what she should do. If she deviated, time would simply loop back. She was frustrated. She couldn’t bring herself to be cruel to this “Lu Ying look-alike,” but she felt she had to draw a line.
It’s not fair to the real Lu Ying, she thought.
Before she had fallen asleep, she was still wondering how to explain this bizarre experience to her new girlfriend. She wanted to be honest about what she’d done in this other world. Now that she was back here, she was determined not to have any “improper” connections with the Young Mistress.
But she also couldn’t stand seeing anyone else touch the person who shared Lu Ying’s face.
Jian Qin’s mind was a mess. As she helped the Miss rinse her mouth, she almost forgot to mention that the water was “pure snowmelt from the Alps.”
The two “extra” maids had already slunk away. Lu Ying took the crystal goblet, her brain finally clicking into gear as she realized why President Jian’s attitude had changed.
I know the maid is President Jian, but she doesn’t know I’m the Miss. If she actually let me get close to her right now, that would be the weird part…
Lu Ying’s eyes shifted from angry red to a happy orange.
She’s “keeping her virtue” for me!
She decided she would just confess everything after rinsing her mouth. After all, they were dating now; the boss was bound to find out about her novel eventually.
Lu Ying prepared to speak, but the moment she finished rinsing, her vision went black—
She had returned to reality at the worst possible moment.
Lu Ying scrambled up from the guest bed, sat in a daze for a second, and checked her phone. Exactly 7:30 AM.
Crap! I forgot to ask her what time she gets up!
She jumped out of bed and heard movement outside. She poked her head out the door. President Jian was already dressed, sitting on the sofa with her iPad.
Hearing the door, Jian Qin looked up and smiled. “Morning, Lu Ying.”
“Morning…” Lu Ying nearly laughed, thinking of the “Ice Queen” version of the boss she’d just seen. “I’ll go change.”
“Wait,” Jian Qin set the iPad down and walked over. “I have some casual clothes. Do you want to pick something out?”
Wearing the same outfit two days in a row wasn’t Lu Ying’s style, so she followed the boss into the master bedroom. The hallway between the bedroom and the private bath had been turned into a walk-in closet—exactly the kind of design Lu Ying loved.
“Wow,” she breathed. “This is amazing.”
“You like it?” Jian Qin asked.
“I love it. Who wouldn’t love a closet this big?”
Jian Qin teased, “Then do you want to stay in the master bedroom next time?”
“…” Lu Ying’s lip twitched. “Actually… the guest room is very cozy. Simple and spacious. It suits my vibe better.”
Jian Qin laughed. “The casual stuff is over here. Pick something and get ready. I’ll make breakfast—it’ll be simple, so don’t be disappointed.”
The boss is cooking? Lu Ying’s eyes sparkled. “How could I be disappointed? Thank you!”
Lu Ying picked an outfit that matched her style and changed. Since she’d already “washed up” during the transmigration, she just splashed some water in the sink for effect, threw on some sunscreen, and ran out to help.
Jian Qin was putting warm milk on the table. She looked surprised. “That was fast. No makeup?”
“Nope. I’m a natural beauty,” Lu Ying grinned. “Let me help.”
Jian Qin found it a bit odd but didn’t dwell on it. Right now, she was focused on one thing: Lu Ying was wearing her clothes. Last night, the thought of Lu Ying in her pajamas had made her bury her face in her pillow; seeing her now in her daytime clothes made a fluttery, satisfying feeling rise in her chest.
The egg cooker buzzed. Jian Qin snapped back to reality. “Sit down, it’s almost ready.”
Lu Ying didn’t listen; she followed her into the kitchen like a little tail. Hard-boiled eggs were sliced perfectly and layered onto toast with other toppings, then pressed into neat triangles. Four sandwiches and two glasses of warm milk—a simple, nutritious breakfast.
Lu Ying’s eyes shone as she whipped out her phone to take a photo.
Jian Qin laughed, trying to block the lens. “It’s just breakfast.”
“It’s the first breakfast you’ve ever made for me. I have to document it.”
Once the photo was taken, Lu Ying decided to be bold. She grabbed the collar of Jian Qin’s shirt, gave her a light kiss on the corner of her mouth, and sat down with a beam.
“Thanks, Sister! I’m digging in~”
She took a bite and kicked her feet happily. It’s delicious! The best sandwich of her life!
Jian Qin, stunned by the kiss, took a moment to compose herself before sitting down.
…
Just now, when Lu Ying kissed her, she had smelled a familiar fragrance.
It was the exact scent of the toothpaste the Young Mistress used.
