Mistaken ‘O’ is a Crazy Gorgeous Boss - Chapter 35
This kiss was the epitome of tenderness.
Qu Zhen kissed without any technique, not because she didn’t know how, but because the moment their lips touched, her mind instinctively discarded everything she had ever learned. After receiving consent from the woman in her arms, along with her knowledge, she also cast aside her restraint.
Though not exactly reckless, she was no longer as cautious as before. She savored the kiss repeatedly, as if tasting an exquisite delicacy, quickly warming and reddening Shen Zhikou’s soft lips. She even lingered at the corners of her mouth, alternating between gentle and fervent kisses until Shen Zhikou willingly parted her lips.
Their tongues intertwined, and when she heard the soft, kitten-like whimpers escape the Omega in her embrace, she pulled back slightly, catching her breath before diving in for another taste.
Their long hair spread across the pillow like fine silk, fingers interlocked tightly as they kissed with abandon and immersion.
By the time the second kiss ended, Qu Zhen’s face was so flushed it could practically fry an egg. The air in the confined space was thick with ambiguity, their embrace radiating heat. The scents of lily of the valley and hyacinth trembled under the intensity, tinged with hues unlike any before.
“Zhenzhen.”
“Hmm.” Qu Zhen held her close, their eyes meeting. “Sister.”
Shen Zhikou’s cheeks were flushed pink from the kisses, the frost in her eyes long melted by unconcealable spring warmth. Gone was her usual cool reserve; now she was irresistibly alluring, both innocent and seductive, the smile at the corners of her eyes seemingly beckoning.
“The good child has turned mischievous,” she remarked.
Qu Zhen blinked. “How so?”
“Asked for one kiss,” Shen Zhikou murmured, “but took two.”
Qu Zhen’s cheeks burned crimson. She remained silent, offering no rebuttal, she had neither the stance nor reason to argue.
Because it was true.
She had pleaded for one kiss, yet upon touching lips, she lost control and took two.
Two.
The number made Qu Zhen even more bashful. She asked softly, “Does it make Sister dislike it?”
“No.” Shen Zhikou countered, “Do you remember what I told you during our vacation on Star Island?”
“Yes.”
“You can be a little more daring.” Shen Zhikou’s thumb brushed over the little alpha’s reddened lips. “It’s okay to be mischievous.”
Qu Zhen’s face flushed even deeper.
…
The next day, both woke late, emerging from under the covers close to 9:30.
After breakfast, Qu Zhen retrieved her tablet and notebook, sitting properly beside Shen Zhikou to detail her learning progress over the past few days.
“Sister, I’m done.”
She handed over her meticulously prepared notes. “This is a condensed version I compiled from the materials Dr. Fang sent, covering all aspects of the condition. Since Dr. Fang mentioned the patient needs to focus on nutritional intake, I also consulted a nutritionist and put together a meal plan based on her advice. It’s all tailored to Shen Zhikou’s preferences, with many dishes adjusted, you don’t need to worry about the flavors.”
Shen Zhikou’s gaze fell upon the two sets of notes, clearly crafted with great care.
She remained silent for a long time, intently reading through each page until she finished the last one before setting the tablet down.
“How long did it take you to prepare these?”
“Less than three days,” Qu Zhen replied with a hint of embarrassment. “The timing is a bit rushed, so some aspects might still need refinement. I’ll go adjust them later.”
Shen Zhikou looked at her, her thin silver-rimmed glasses masking the shadows in her eyes. “So, during these three days, you haven’t been eating properly or resting on time, have you?”
The room fell silent for a moment. Qu Zhen hadn’t expected Shen Zhikou to ask this. Not wanting to lie, she nodded like a chick pecking at grains.
“Well, yes, but I didn’t stay up too late, and I did have all three meals on time.”
Shen Zhikou pressed her lips together. “I’m very touched that you’re so considerate of me, but I also hope you’ll prioritize your own health.”
“I understand, Sister,” Qu Zhen said, gently touching her hand with a sweet, obedient smile. “I’ll be more careful next time.”
“Mm.”
Shen Zhikou picked up her tablet from the coffee table and pulled up a more detailed set of data for Qu Zhen to see. “This is my latest examination report. The numbers have improved across the board, which is good news for me.”
The dense data analysis made Qu Zhen’s head spin, but she persisted and read through all fifteen pages of the report thoroughly.
When she reached the conclusion at the end, she exclaimed excitedly, “Sister, our pheromone compatibility is actually 99%? That’s so high! But that’s really wonderful, things are truly getting better, bit by bit.”
“Mm.”
Shen Zhikou briefly explained her medical situation, mentioning that after a temporary mark, an Omega’s gland secretions could be extracted to directly test compatibility with an Alpha.
“Because the compatibility is so high, the doctor provided a new treatment plan based on these results.”
Qu Zhen focused intently on browsing the latest treatment plan, slowing her reading pace to avoid missing any details. The suggestions in this plan were somewhat similar to some of the materials Dr. Fang had sent, repeatedly emphasizing the importance of marking for recovery, along with effective daily soothing methods.
The level of intimacy suggested was slightly deeper than before, but each recommendation was backed by ample data and evidence.
After finishing, Qu Zhen asked Shen Zhikou for a copy to study in detail.
“Sister, I’ll make adjustments based on this treatment plan.”
“What adjustments?”
Qu Zhen outlined her plan: “Yesterday, I said I wanted to pursue you, and engaging in intimate acts during the pursuit might not be appropriate. But the truth is, we can’t avoid intimacy right now, so I want to readjust and implement things according to a new plan.”
“Zhenzhen.”
“Hmm?”
Shen Zhikou spoke unhurriedly, “Do you remember the clause about marital intimacy in the prenuptial agreement?”
Qu Zhen, still too shy to say it outright, murmured, “The frequency… once a week?”
“Mm.”
“I remember.”
“So, since neither of us is opposed to it and intimacy is unavoidable, try to accept it, adjust, and integrate it better into your plan. That way, we can achieve our goal within the set timeframe.”
Slowly guided, Qu Zhen gradually fell into Shen Zhikou’s trap.
“O-okay, Sister.”
The aroma of freshly brewed Pu’er tea filled the air from the coffee table. Shen Zhikou filled Qu Zhen’s purple clay teacup. “You said you want to pursue me because you unilaterally decided that I have no feelings for you?”
Steam wafted from the teapot’s spout, curling upward. Qu Zhen, whose hidden thoughts had been laid bare, lowered her gaze to the dark tea.
That was indeed part of the reason.
But it wasn’t the main reason.
Drinking tea required patience, much like marriage and romance. Qu Zhen sidestepped the question and explained her reasoning to Shen Zhikou: “Sister, the books say that the beginning of a relationship between an Alpha and an Omega should ideally start with the Alpha taking the initiative. I proposed pursuing you because you mentioned before that you wanted a relationship built on sincerity, with a twelve-month timeline. Before that period, we need to offer our genuine hearts, meaning we should fall for each other. I was the first to develop feelings for you, entering the next step faster than you did, and I also want you to feel the same way about me. So, it’s only natural that I take the initiative to pursue you.”
“Anyway, I’ll do my best in the time we have left.”
Her evasion was obvious, but Shen Zhikou’s focus was entirely on the phrase “I was the first to develop feelings for you.” She remained composed, concealing the turbulent emotions in her eyes, and replied calmly.
“I’m very much looking forward to it.”
For Qu Zhen, this was her first crush, her first time pursuing someone, and she had no experience whatsoever. Hearing Shen Zhikou say she was looking forward to it made her both nervous and excited.
She was nervous about making mistakes, overlooking details, or not being thoughtful enough. But she was also eager to see Shen Zhikou’s reactions, her responses, and to witness Shen Zhikou falling for her just as she had.
…
In the afternoon, the two packed their luggage and returned to Mingqiu County.
They left Haicheng just after two o’clock, and the drive on the highway took three and a half hours.
The black car made a brief stop at a gas station, pausing for five minutes before heading toward the Flower Shop. Qu Zhen was in the driver’s seat, her eyes fixed on the road ahead as gloomy, overcast skies loomed outside the window. Beside her, Shen Zhikou was on the phone with Qin Huan.
“We’ll be there in a little while, no need to rush.”
Originally, Qin Huan and Qu Han had planned to pick them up directly from the station, but both Qu Zhen and Shen Zhikou had politely declined. Partly because they had unexpectedly decided to drive instead, and partly because the rainy weather made it difficult for Qin Huan to get around due to her leg.
“Alright, alright. An hour ago, we suddenly got a big order at the shop from a hotel we’ve worked with for a long time. Your mom and I couldn’t really turn it down,” Qin Huan said apologetically. “If you arrive and don’t see us there, just wait inside the shop for a bit. Sorry, Koukou, for not being able to pick you up and potentially making you wait.”
“It’s fine, we’ll see you soon. Zhenzhen and I will wait for you at the shop,” Shen Zhikou replied gently.
After exchanging a few more words, they ended the call. A light drizzle continued to fall, and Qu Zhen played a soft, uplifting piece of music. She chatted with Shen Zhikou from time to time, bringing up a variety of topics, all things she had highlighted and noted from the books she’d read.
The music played on loop twice before they arrived at the flower shop. Qu Zhen was the first to step out, opening an umbrella and walking around to the passenger side to shelter Shen Zhikou completely, ensuring not a single drop of rain touched her.
Together, they carried the gifts and hurried into the flower shop.
The interior of Huanxin Flower Shop was decorated in the old-world style Qin Huan loved most, cozy and full of character. Flower stands near the entrance displayed seasonal blooms like lisianthus, hydrangeas, and strawflowers.
The shop was a riot of colors, brimming with the hues of autumn.
A few steps further inside, and a fragrant sea of flowers greeted them, making it feel like they had stepped into a fairy-tale realm.
At the front desk on the right, an Omega stood wearing a pheromone-blocking collar. She was less than 165 centimeters tall, her long hair braided and draped over her right shoulder as she lowered her head to look at the computer screen. Hearing the wind chimes hanging by the door jingle, the Omega instinctively lifted her gaze and met the eyes of the newcomer.
On the leftmost display shelf in the flower shop, placed prominently in the center, was a family photo. The Omega had seen Qu Zhen in the picture before and knew she was the daughter of the two shop owners.
As Qu Zhen approached, the Omega was about to offer a polite smile, but the warmth in her eyes froze and vanished completely the moment she caught sight of the Omega accompanying Qu Zhen.
A thermos cup at the edge of the table fell to the ground, its impact against the floor producing a sharp, clear sound.
The Omega’s pupils contracted slightly, her fingers at her sides clenching tightly, as if she had encountered an extremely dangerous figure, or perhaps a demon from hell itself.
