Marry First, Love Later With The White Cat Princess - Chapter 95
Fifteen minutes later, looking at the bright red, wide sleeved gauze robe in Lianyi’s hands, Liu Fenyun suddenly recalled the day Lianyi had taken her to buy clothes in Qifeng City.
That was the first time she had gone out to buy female attire after transmigrating. Lianyi had picked out many outfits for her in every imaginable color. Among them was this set of wide sleeved gauze robes, a festive, vibrant red that looked exactly like a wedding dress.
Back then, Liu Fenyun wasn’t used to wearing such bright colors and had returned them to the shopkeeper after trying them on. Little did she know, Lianyi had bought them anyway, even purchasing a second, identical set.
“You said then that you weren’t used to bright colors, so they’ve been sitting in the back of the wardrobe ever since,” Lianyi said, holding the two identical red robes. Her lips curled into a mischievous, cunning smile. “These are our wedding robes. I’ve wanted to have another wedding with you for a long time.”
Liu Fenyun took one of the sets, reflecting for a moment before saying, “It seems my intuition wasn’t wrong back then. I wondered why you’d buy colors I didn’t care for.”
With a flick of her hand, she set up an isolation barrier, carefully hung the “wedding robe” on a rack, and began to remove her outer coat.
Lianyi had originally intended to stand obediently by as a human clothes rack, catching the discarded layers. However, in less than half a quarter-hour, the two of them had already tumbled onto the couch.
Catching the cat demon who couldn’t keep her hands to herself, Liu Fenyun tightened her loosened sash. She leaned down to Lianyi’s ear and whispered with a laugh, “I suspect what Yiyi wants most isn’t the wedding ceremony, but the bridal night.”
“You’re talking nonsense…”
Before Lianyi could finish, her words were stifled by a soft warmth. Her cat ears twitched and folded back as she simply gave up all resistance.
Through the layers of clothing, Liu Fenyun massaged the “bad cat” from her ears down to her feet. Seeing that the cat couldn’t handle the affection and had burrowed into the quilts when she wasn’t looking, Liu Fenyun grabbed the stray tail left outside. She scooped up the cat filled bundle into her arms, stood up, and asked with a downward gaze and a smile, “We haven’t tried on the wedding robes yet.”
“Not trying them!” Lianyi glared at her. “Who ever heard of… of teasing the cat before the wedding process is even finished!”
“It was Yiyi who started the ‘teasing’ first.” Liu Fenyun set her down, her expression turning serious as she remembered she hadn’t asked what kind of wedding the cat wanted. “Yiyi, do you want a grand, lively wedding, or a quiet one?”
She had assumed the cat would prefer a quiet affair. After all, their international wedding last year had been exhausting, and she figured a yandere cat wouldn’t want others looking at her bride.
To her surprise, Lianyi replied, “Naturally, the livelier the better. It’s best if even the Kingdom of Zhuhuang knows we are wed.”
Liu Fenyun was stunned. “That’s… a bit too provocative…”
“What if it is?” Lianyi huffed. “Zhuhuang forbids same-sex marriage, yet they still let you, a female Prince Consort, marry me. Besides, even the High Priest, who is above tens of thousands, has ‘the habit of the rubbing mirror’ (lesbian tendencies). If you ask me, that doctrine will be abolished sooner or later.”
Before Liu Fenyun could say more, Lianyi suddenly threw open the thin quilt she was wrapped in, pulled it over Liu Fenyun’s head, and hoisted her toward the bed.
Another bout of chaos ensued. Lianyi even forcibly transferred a significant amount of demonic energy into Liu Fenyun, causing her to sprout cat ears and a tail just so she could rub them. She intentionally teased her as if scratching an itch, refusing to stop until Liu Fenyun let out a few “strange” sounds.
Liu Fenyun was now convinced: out of the entire wedding process, the cat definitely wanted the bridal night most.
Demons are generally more proactive in these matters than humans. As Liu Fenyun’s memories continued to return, she realized that back when she and Lianyi were in the Upper Realm, they had shared many secret nights together, usually at the cat’s request to help soothe her physical needs.
The palace they were staying in featured a warm spring. The water could be changed at any time without bothering servants to haul it. Consequently, the splashing in the spring didn’t cease until after midnight. Finally, Liu Fenyun dried the cat, carried her to the bed, and tucked her into the quilts.
The two wedding robes remained untouched, hanging quietly on the rack, silent witnesses to the revelry.
“After all that noise, aren’t you tired?” Liu Fenyun patted the cat snuggled in her arms.
Since they were simulating last year’s bridal night, the cat had only been responsible for rubbing her fake demon form and making her yelp occasionally. Liu Fenyun had done all the actual “work” throughout the night.
“I like it very much.” Lianyi curled her body slightly so Liu Fenyun could hold her tighter. “If you feel awkward, you can just treat me like a demon from a brothel.”
“Don’t talk nonsense.” Liu Fenyun frowned, her voice sinking. “Is that something to joke about?”
Lianyi didn’t answer, just giggled softly against her chest.
Liu Fenyun gave her a little pinch through her sleeping robe. Hearing a “meow” of surrender, she watched as the cat begged for mercy. Liu Fenyun then began rubbing the cat’s ears, mimicking Lianyi’s yandere tone: “You are my cat. Only I can touch you.”
She felt the cat’s ears stand upright in her palm.
“Lianyi’s blackening value has dropped to 90 points,” the system suddenly announced, startling Liu Fenyun.
“Just saying a sentence can drop the blackening value?!” Liu Fenyun found it incredible. Holding the sleeping cat, she thought carefully and asked the system, “I remember the cat’s interests are… specific. To lower the blackening value, surely you don’t mean… I have to do things a yandere would do?”
What is this? Between the master and the cat, does one of us have to be crazy?
“There is no specific data, but the probability of lowering the blackening value is as high as 80%. If the host can accept this method, active attempts are suggested,” the system encouraged.
Liu Fenyun’s frown deepened. “What’s the logic? Using yandere methods to make her feel like she’s the center of my world?”
“Precisely,” the system replied. “This method makes her view you as a peer. Normal people find it hard to understand yanderes, which creates a sense of distance…”
“No, I refuse to try that,” Liu Fenyun said firmly. “The source of her becoming a yandere was my departure without a word. That is my responsibility. I must be responsible for curing her.”
Even if “using poison to fight poison” was a medical tactic, she wanted to use a proper cure to return Lianyi to her former self. At its core, being a “yandere” was a mental affliction. As the Goddess of Medicine, she would eventually find the right treatment.
Since their one year wedding anniversary hadn’t arrived yet, the ceremony was postponed. The next day at noon, Lianyi sat in the palace eating a bowl of osmanthus rice cakes, occasionally glancing at Liu Fenyun, who was leafing through medical texts.
Liu Fenyun had been reading since she woke up, only pausing once to get food for Lianyi. Lianyi didn’t disturb her, content to eat her cakes in silence. She knew that when Liu Fenyun studied this intently, she was either reviewing or searching for something vital.
After finishing the last medical book, Liu Fenyun understood.
The books were borrowed from Qi Niao, but they were originally gifts Liu Fenyun had given Qi Niao when she was still a god. Among them was a mention of a medicine to treat “obsessive heart sickness.” However, this medicine only grew in the ancient cultivation realms of the Lower Realm, in places with abundant spiritual energy.
On a spread out piece of paper, Liu Fenyun swiftly wrote the three characters for the herb: “Bu Jian Chou” (No More Sorrow). She asked the system, “Does this world have this medicine?”
If not, she would have to use Qi Niao’s abilities to find it in another world.
“Human Realm, the Far East, Qingmu Immortal Mountain,” the system called up a map and marked a location.
Staring at the map for a while, Liu Fenyun smiled. “It seems my karma with that Madam Chong hasn’t been completely severed.”
However, they were staying in the Demon Realm for a while. Liu Fenyun noted the coordinates of Qingmu Immortal Mountain, deciding to wait until her memories were fully restored before taking Lianyi to find the medicine.
Lianyi walked over with her bowl, looking at the flowing script on the paper. “What is Yun writing now?”
Liu Fenyun thought for a moment, picked up her brush, and added a few strokes to the “Heart” radical at the bottom of the character “Sorrow,” turning it into a cat’s paw. She said leisurely, “Searching for Autumn.”
She soon hung the paper in the bedroom as a reminder.
Currently, both the Demon and Human Realms were in a state of constant conflict. Liu Fenyun didn’t know if they would encounter trouble here, so she hung the name of the spirit medicine in the bedroom to see it every day and ensure it wasn’t forgotten.
At the welcome banquet that evening, Liu Fenyun finally met Qi Niao’s Dao companion.
“Her name is Fu Yao. Her race is ‘Fu,’ a type of spiritual bird from another world,” Qi Niao said, hugging the feathered demon beside her and introducing her enthusiastically. “Actually, she’s quite young, only a few hundred years old. Don’t let her majestic aura fool you; when I first met her, she was just an innocent little thing~”
The majestic Monarch of the Feather Clan gave her a cold glance. But in the next second, in front of everyone, she pulled Qi Niao into her arms and kissed her deeply. She then looked around and explained calmly, “My lady enjoys exposing my past. Since you are all old friends, please do not take it to heart.”
She then turned her gaze to Luo Binglun. “You are Ah-Qing’s companion? The High Priest of Zhuhuang? My royal city is in need of a Star Official. If you are ever willing to stay in the Demon Realm, I shall reserve that position for you.”
“I am honored by your favor, Your Majesty!” Luo Binglun toasted her. “It’s just that I must stay in the Human Realm for a while longer. In the short term…”
“No matter. My lady can divine the stars herself; that position isn’t as critical as you might think,” Fu Yao interrupted. “If Ah-Qing intends to be with you, I cannot send her away on missions. But as the child refuses to be idle, I must grant her a title, and the same goes for you.”
While the Monarch was busy recruiting talent, Lianyi took the opportunity to pile her plate with food. Before she even finished her osmanthus wine rice balls, she had her eyes on the hairy crabs.
She had been stuck in the Seventh Princess’s sickly body for four years, restricted by a strict diet. Now that she had her own body back, she intended to make up for all the delicacies she had missed.
Liu Fenyun wasn’t very interested in the food. She ate a few bites and stopped. Following Lianyi’s gaze, she picked up a hairy crab. She began to methodically peel the shell, crack the claws, and separate the roe and meat into a small saucer. Finally, she drizzled some sauce over it and placed it in front of Lianyi.
