Marry First, Love Later With The White Cat Princess - Chapter 94
Yu Qingyue and Luo Binglun, having settled their affairs, rushed toward the Demon Realm without pause.
After returning to the human realm, Luo Binglun had not neglected her cultivation. During her time handling affairs in the Kingdom of Zhuhuang, she had asked Yu Qingyue for many demonic technique manuals to make up for lost ground. Since her demon form could not be seen by her clansmen, she practiced flying within Yu Qingyue’s spiritual consciousness.
By now, her flight speed could match Yu Qingyue’s. She didn’t stop once on the way to the Demon Realm; it was only when they entered the realm and flew to Kongmeng City that she felt an aching soreness in her wings and back.
Upon landing, Luo Binglun saw a woman in green approaching with great enthusiasm. Hearing the woman refer to herself as “Master,” she immediately realized this was Yu Qingyue’s mentor. She grew nervous, though she maintained a dignified and appropriate smile on the surface, obediently greeting her: “Greetings, Senior.”
Qi Niao was momentarily stunned to see her disciple had found a feather demon from the human realm as a Daoist companion. However, she quickly used her divine sense to observe Luo Binglun’s human origin. Smiling in acceptance, she reached out to stroke Luo Binglun’s wings. She couldn’t help but praise: “My, these wings are truly beautiful. The color is so vivid and striking, quite rare among female birds.”
Luo Binglun had never had her wings touched by anyone other than Yu Qingyue. Her back stiffened instantly as a numbing sensation spread through her body.
Seeing her acting like a startled quail, Yu Qingyue curled her lips into a smile and said to Qi Niao, “Master, she is shy. You’ll scare her like that and if Mistress sees, she’ll be jealous.”
“No, no, your Mistress is the most beautiful feather demon in the world,” Qi Niao said, though she reluctantly withdrew her hand. “So your companion was originally a human? Though the cultivation of a Green Kite cannot compare to a Blue Phoenix, they are more ferocious by nature. They are often mistakenly worshipped as divine birds because of their combat strength. Later, I’ll have your Mistress give this child a protective talisman, lest she be possessed by the Green Kite while sleeping.”
Luo Binglun felt a bit awkward being called “this child” at her age, but she relaxed when she remembered that the appearances of demons and cultivators are deceptive. She thanked Qi Niao and walked toward the guest room with Yu Qingyue.
“Master has always liked feather demons. She is always this enthusiastic toward them; you needn’t be nervous,” Yu Qingyue explained on the way. “On the contrary, Mistress is more steady.”
Luo Binglun nodded. After walking for a while, she couldn’t help but ask, “Does your Master… seem satisfied with me?”
She hadn’t detected any demonic energy from the woman in green, judging her to be human. Since the woman liked feather demons, she must have seen many, surely some more excellent than herself…
“You are the Daoist companion I chose, naturally, she is satisfied,” Yu Qingyue said, lightly pulling her into an embrace. “What’s this? The Great Priest, who stands above ten thousand, is nervous over such trifles?”
“This… this is clearly a major event!” Luo Binglun immediately retorted. “You know the Kingdom of Zhuhuang doesn’t allow same-sex marriage. In the future, I will eventually… marry you, and move to the Demon Realm… Your Master is your elder. If she is dissatisfied with me, I must correct myself early!”
Her face flushed with nerves. Checking to ensure no one was around, she sighed in relief and leaned into Yu Qingyue’s arms, grumbling, “Stop teasing me about these things…”
Yu Qingyue looked down, meeting her serious gaze. She gently stroked her back and gave a faint, warm smile. “Alright, I won’t tease.”
There were several guest rooms in the royal city of Kongmeng. After their moment of intimacy, as they passed one of the rooms, Luo Binglun suddenly sensed a familiar aura and stopped.
“What is it?” Yu Qingyue stopped as well.
“…Nothing, perhaps it’s a mistake.” Luo Binglun shook her head. Just as she was thinking that her disciple had long since passed away and couldn’t possibly return to life, the door creaked open. A young girl with brown hair and blue eyes, wearing the Saintess robes of the Zhuhuang Kingdom, stepped out.
Meeting her eyes, Sha Lanyi recognized her immediately but didn’t dare claim the relationship yet. She greeted her cautiously: “Hello… Lord Great Priest?”
As soon as she spoke, she was pulled into Luo Binglun’s embrace.
“Lanyi, is it Lanyi?!” Smelling the familiar scent, Luo Binglun almost thought she was dreaming.
She had originally thought it was Lianyi, but this girl emitted the scent of a human, without a trace of demonic energy.
Hearing her name called, Sha Lanyi felt relieved and whispered, “It’s me, Master.”
Seeing the master and disciple reunite, Yu Qingyue was slightly surprised, even though she had expected it. She hadn’t realized that after the soul separation, the possessed Sha Lanyi could return to life.
“Go inside and catch up,” she suggested. “I shall go check on my own disciple as well.”
Yu Qingyue and Liu Fenyun shared no communication artifacts previously, they had relied on her demon form to send letters between the two countries. She trusted her high-status disciple so much that she hadn’t even known the girl had died once.
If Qi Ran were still here, he would surely have mocked and scolded her upon her return.
Of course, Liu Fenyun and Lianyi knew that Yu Qingyue’s trip to Zhuhuang was also perilous, so they didn’t blame her. The two were overjoyed to see her return safely. They brought tea and cakes, sitting down to slowly recount recent events.
Once they started talking, the fact that Liu Fenyun had died once couldn’t be hidden. Lianyi felt that Yu Qingyue, as her Master, had to know.
After listening, Yu Qingyue fell into silence for a moment before sighing. “I did not expect the Monarch to seek help from the previous Witch Doctor Envoy. Those Envoys are only under the jurisdiction of the Witch Doctors. Even though I sent people to the Saintess Temple, we didn’t detect their movements, and the Priest Temple was even more in the dark.”
She thought for a moment and said to Lianyi, “However, I heard from Binglun that her secret room was searched. Those envoys must have taken some tracking artifact. Since your movements are unpredictable, they wouldn’t have found you so easily without one. Stretch out your hand, let me examine you.”
Lianyi obediently held out her hand. She felt Yu Qingyue’s demonic energy like a sharp blade, piercing her skin and searching through her meridians. She couldn’t help but let out a low whimper.
Liu Fenyun quickly pulled her close, channeling the surrounding spiritual energy to soothe her.
“It will hurt a little, but it will be over soon,” Yu Qingyue said, focusing her energy.
A moment later, she quickly withdrew her energy and opened her clenched fist. In her palm were two gu insects!
Lianyi was startled. Looking closely, she realized these seemed to be the insects Luo Binglun had placed in her years ago. She couldn’t help but feel guilty. She had forgotten to ask Luo Binglun to remove them; otherwise, those two envoys wouldn’t have found them, and Ayu wouldn’t have died.
Yu Qingyue looked at the insects in her palm, finding them strange. Gu insects come in pairs (Mother and Child) usually, the practitioner doesn’t leave the Mother insect inside the victim, and Luo Binglun wasn’t an unskilled practitioner.
“You haven’t finished, where did those two envoys finally die?” Yu Qingyue asked.
Lianyi, who was telling the story, fell into a long silence before whispering, “Because of Ayu’s death, I lost control for a while and… swallowed them whole…”
Even Liu Fenyun was shocked by this. At the time, she had seen the souls of the enemies inside Lianyi and thought Lianyi had just eaten their souls in revenge. She hadn’t realized she had eaten their bodies too?!
Yu Qingyue froze, looking at her suspiciously. “Then where are their souls and bodies? I didn’t detect any traces of them in you.”
“Their souls were taken by a god. I don’t know where. As for the bodies…” Liu Fenyun calculated the time. “They’ve probably been digested by Yiyi by now?”
Lianyi lowered her head uneasily, her voice even softer: “If I had been conscious, I would have just killed them. I’m not an evil, man-eating demon…”
She thought again and added, “Their belongings were taken by the God of Time. The Seventh Princess is returning to Zhuhuang, so the God of Time cleaned the items and gave them to her.”
Since things had come to this, and considering the envoys had attacked first, Yu Qingyue could only look on the bright side. It was a good thing Lianyi swallowed them, otherwise, they would have had to hunt for the Mother insect. With the insects destroyed, Lianyi was truly free.
“You can’t do that anymore,” Liu Fenyun reminded the yandere cat. “Killing is fine, but don’t eat random things.”
To lighten the mood, Liu Fenyun told Yu Qingyue about Chong Yun’s resurrection and how she had gone to the Qingmu Immortal Mountain to find her mother. With Chong Yun’s talent, entering the sect shouldn’t be an issue.
Yu Qingyue snorted lightly. “I knew that brat still yearned for cultivation. It’s a stroke of luck for her, though Madam Chong might not be happy.”
She knew Chong Youhuai had entered the mortal world to sever her emotions, but instead of severing them, she had added a karmic bond. If mother and daughter met in the same sect, it would be incredibly awkward, and the generational ranks would be a mess.
Liu Fenyun laughed awkwardly. “Will Master go see her?”
“Not for now. My time back is limited,” Yu Qingyue said. “If you two want to go, you can take the token Madam Chong gave you. It should be an artifact of the Qingmu Immortal Mountain and can serve as credentials.”
Yu Qingyue was not one for many words. Seeing that her disciple was fine, she plucked two feathers and gave them to the pair as shields before heading out to find Luo Binglun.
They had arrived at dusk. Now, night had fallen, and a crescent moon hung in the sky.
After dinner, Liu Fenyun and Lianyi went to a spirit-gathering platform Qi Niao had mentioned. They sat facing each other, drawing in spiritual energy to cultivate.
The night breeze was cool. Lianyi flicked her cat ears and suddenly remembered something. “Winter is coming again soon. I wonder what the Winter Month is like in the Demon Realm.”
She intentionally didn’t elaborate, but Liu Fenyun followed her train of thought: last year in the Winter Month, she had come to the Zhuhuang Kingdom disguised as a man and married this big white cat.
“Yes, it’s almost been a year,” Liu Fenyun said. “Our wedding anniversary is coming up, isn’t it? Where would Yiyi like to go? Or is there something you want?”
Seeing her catch the meaning immediately, Lianyi wagged her tail happily. After careful consideration, she wrapped her arms around Liu Fenyun’s neck and said solemnly: “I want to marry you again.”
She paused and added, “This time, it’s the cat demon Lianyi who wants to marry you.”
