- Chapter 1 - You Were the One Who Provoked Me First
“F*ck, whose Omega is in heat? It smells so good.”
“It’s an A-level Bergamot. To have the nerve to go out when the scent is this sweet—they’ve got guts.”
Lu Siyan’s cheeks were flushed crimson, his breathing ragged, and his vision blurred behind eyes dampened by sweat. He reached out to cover his gland at the nape of his neck, which was severely swollen and felt like a small walnut lodged under the skin. He stumbled away in a daze.
The scent-blocking patch he had used to cover his leaking pheromones had been lost at some point. His completely exposed scent organ would only serve to attract more and more low-level Alphas in a short amount of time.
“Hey, Omega, open the door.”
“Let big brother give you a bite, and you’ll feel much better.”
“Just let me mark you, and no other Alpha will dare touch you.”
“My pheromones are B-level Green Ivy. They smell great. Want to give them a try?”
To an Omega in heat, the world was nothing but the sound of heavy breathing. The space around him warped and shifted in size, and the lights overhead flickered between brightness and shadow. Driven by sheer panic, he burst into a bathroom stall and slammed the lock shut just before anyone could grab him.
A surge of intense heat rolled up from his lower abdomen, making his skin feel scalded. Sweat, saturated with the scent of pheromones, secreted frantically, leaving his body feeling drenched and slick.
“Heh, smell that? I bet he’s a virgin.”
“The pheromones are so sweet they almost smell metallic. I want to see how much longer he can hold out.”
“Once he loses his mind, he’ll have to open the door and beg us to bite him.”
Outside the stall came lewd laughter. Lu Siyan had collapsed the moment he entered the narrow space, his knees hitting the floor and scraping off a layer of skin. The wound stung sharply.
His fingers fumbled through the items spilled from his backpack, searching frantically until they found a box of unopened, extra-strength scent blockers. His vision was a chaotic blur and his fingertips trembled so violently that even peeling off the adhesive backing felt like an impossible dream.
No, it can’t be… I can’t let these low-life Alphas mark me.
The Omega’s heart raced, his breathing was shallow, and the tip of his pink-tinged nose was wet with sweat. He shook his head forcefully, trying to stay conscious, and bit down hard on his slender white wrist, hoping the pain would pull his sanity back.
After desperately wiping the sweat from the back of his neck, he used the entire box of blockers to cover his swollen gland. However, the small stall was already completely saturated with the scent of Bergamot; it wouldn’t dissipate anytime soon. If he didn’t run, he was a sitting duck.
The Omega raised a canister of anti-wolf spray and charged out.
Sizzle—!
The bleached-haired Alphas were caught off guard, clutching their eyes and howling in pain. He took the opportunity to bolt, ducking into the emergency stairwell, but they were quick to pursue.
“Damned Omega, what are you acting all pure for? When you’re in heat, don’t you still have to beg us Alphas?”
“Bitch, you Omegas can’t survive without an Alpha. Your gender is naturally inferior.”
Lu Siyan ran and fell, crawled up, and ran again. An Omega raised in luxury, his body was now covered in bruises. He couldn’t even manage to climb a few short steps, and he couldn’t shake the “tails” behind him.
In the midst of a total physical and mental breakdown, a faint scent drifted past his nose—a cold Camellia and Cedarwood. It brought an immediate, powerful relief to his scorched emotions and rising body temperature.
It was an Alpha. And an S-class Alpha at that. Cold, crisp Camellia and Cedarwood pheromones.
It felt so good, smelled so wonderful. The Omega, on the verge of despair, had eyes rimmed with red, but his gaze suddenly lit up as if he had found a savior.
Lu Siyan looked up. Just inches away, another door to the emergency exit was pushed open. The man standing there had well-defined fingers holding a half-lit cigarette, and his wrist was wrapped in a white bandage. Through his blurred, shaking vision, Lu Siyan could just make out a tall, upright silhouette in black. Though he couldn’t see clearly, he felt the man must be handsome.
No, extremely handsome.
The Omega lunged forward desperately, slamming into him with a thud. He heard the man on the other side of the door clutch his hand and hiss a low curse: “Fuck!”
Lu Siyan didn’t have time to apologize. Instinct drove him to cling to the man’s body, his voice sounding like it was coated in honey: “Save me.”
The S-class Alpha’s spine stiffened instantly, but he didn’t push him away. In those few seconds of silence, Lu Siyan could feel the man’s gaze falling on him, scanning him over. Lu Siyan couldn’t stand steadily; his arms tightly circled the Alpha’s waist as his breathing grew erratic and heavy.
With the Omega’s rising body temperature, out-of-control pheromones, and the two thugs chasing from behind, the man quickly grasped the situation.
So, an Omega in heat being targeted by Alphas with bad intentions.
The man let out a cold snort, tossed his cigarette, and ground it out fiercely with his foot. An aura of natural-born nobility overwhelmed those around him as he spoke in an icy tone: “Get lost.”
Don’t you hear me? Get lost.
An S-class Alpha, a perennial woody scent, Pinaceae. They certainly couldn’t win a fight against him, and after spotting the Rolex on the man’s wrist, they figured they probably couldn’t afford to offend him either. But they had finally encountered such a cute Omega in heat…
“Brother, it’s a misunderstanding. That little guy is my partner.” “He just went into heat and isn’t thinking straight. He’s just throwing a tantrum with me.”
Lu Siyan shook his head, crying, “No, I don’t know them.”
The man reminded them impatiently, “Didn’t you hear him?”
He doesn’t know you. You can go now. Besides, the kid is a virgin; his pheromones are pure. How could he be your partner? Truly a toad lusting after swan meat—having the gall to stand there with a B-level face and talk such nonsense.
He was asking for a beating.
Seeing that they wouldn’t leave, the man casually rolled up his sleeves and unstrapped his watch. “Fine. I see having a nose is useless for you two anyway.”
Might as well just break them.
The B-level thugs caught his drift and waved their hands frantically. “No, no!”
But they were a second too late. Suddenly, a mountain-collapsing wave of Camellia and Cedarwood pheromones surged forth. Under the suppression of a high-level Alpha, the low-level Alphas had no power to resist. The cold, fresh wood scent was so intense it was almost choking, but for Lu Siyan, who was in heat, this scent was perfect.
The young Omega, lacking any restraint, frantically and greedily tried to extract more pheromones from the Alpha’s body to soothe himself. While the thugs below the stairs were being crushed so hard they couldn’t even stand straight, Lu Siyan’s nose had already unceremoniously buried itself into the crook of the man’s neck.
So fragrant. It smells so good. I want more.
The Omega didn’t care about the fight at all; he didn’t even know when the thugs had been chased away. Surrounded by the pheromones he loved, the sense of comfort was lethally overwhelming.
It wasn’t until a sudden, light chuckle sounded that the Omega was gently pushed away by the tip of his nose.
“Little guy, are you taking advantage of me?”
Without the man’s body for support, Lu Siyan instantly lost his strength. He swayed and slumped to the floor, leaning against a corner. His forehead was covered in fine beads of sweat, and his eyes were misty with moisture. He looked like a fish tossed onto the shore, struggling to breathe, weak to the point of exhaustion.
But having been soothed by the Alpha’s pheromones, his condition was finally stabilizing. He was no longer as frantic as before. However, the sudden interruption of the intimacy left Lu Siyan’s eyes wide with shock. A sense of grievance, cowardice, and trepidation washed over him, as if he were asking why he had been pushed away.
The unintended look of innocent charm on the Omega was incredibly cute.
The man knelt down, trying to level his gaze with the boy’s. “You like S-class Alphas?”
Dazed and realizing he was being asked a question, Lu Siyan nodded, then quickly shook his head. The Omega wasn’t lying; he was just confused. He had met many S-class Alphas over the years, but to find pheromones he liked this much… This man was the first.
He liked the man’s pheromones, and the man happened to be an S-class Alpha. So, by calculation, that meant… he liked S-class Alphas? No, no… that math was wrong.
The man laughed softly. “You certainly know how to pick them. You didn’t care for the B-level thugs, but you like an S-class handsome guy like me?”
Lu Siyan couldn’t see clearly, but he stared at the man and nodded seriously this time. Yes, he really was handsome—especially the way he crushed the cigarette and rolled up his sleeves to deal with those people. It hit every one of Lu Siyan’s heartstrings.
The Omega asked obediently, “Can you mark me?”
The man burst into full laughter. “Mark you?” He clicked his tongue. “While I understand why you’d fall for a handsome guy like me at first sight… No.”
An Omega in heat is entirely controlled by hormones. One moment they might claim to be the reincarnation of Ultraman. A confession of love in this state was even less believable than an Alpha saying “I’ll love you forever” in bed.
This little guy is wicked. He had just saved him, and now the kid wanted to lure him into a crime?
After being rejected, the little Omega’s eyes welled up, the corners of his mouth turned down, and his nose turned red. “I don’t care. I want you to mark me.”
“You’re sticking to me now?”
The Omega nodded. “Mhm…” He confessed honestly, “I like your pheromones.” He wanted to stay with the Camellia and Cedarwood forever.
“I get it. My pheromones do smell great…” The man boasted, reaching out to ruffle the boy’s hair. The Omega immediately clung to him again, as if afraid this “natural suppressant” would run away.
The Alpha tapped his hand. “Hold on for thirty seconds. I’ll call someone to take you to the emergency room.”
Emergency room? No, no.
The Omega shook his head frantically. He didn’t like those cold medical instruments; he didn’t like needles piercing under his skin—it hurt. He just wanted the Camellia and Cedarwood pheromones. He wanted the Alpha in front of him.
“I want you to mark me right now. A permanent mark is fine too.”
He was in too much pain. In all these years, he had never smelled such comfortable, wonderful Alpha pheromones. The physiological attack of the heat was devastating. Lu Siyan clutched his stomach and began to sob uncontrollably. “Please, I beg you.”
The Alpha pressed down on the boy’s rising fingers. “I know it’s hard, but we can’t…” The man softened his voice. “How about this? You smell my pheromones first, and once you feel better, we’ll find a doctor?”
How could he take advantage of someone like this? To mark a barely-adult, incoherent Omega in the middle of their heat? The man coaxed him gently.
The Omega hugged him tightly and nodded through his tears. But unexpectedly, just as he was wrapped in the man’s gentle, cold Camellia and Cedarwood scent, Lu Siyan suddenly tilted his chin up.
He wanted this Alpha.
The man clearly didn’t expect it. Caught off guard, their noses bumped together. The man’s lip was cut by the Omega’s teeth, and he stumbled back, clutching his bruised nose. He didn’t have time to scold the “unfair” little guy, because the next thing he knew, his collar was gripped tightly and he was pulled back down.
“I want you to mark me.”
The fierce and stubborn Omega acted with a desperate intensity. Because he didn’t know how to kiss, he just bumped into the man clumsily. The clashing of teeth and noses couldn’t be resolved, so he simply jumped up to wrap his arms around the man’s shoulders and bit down hard on the back of his neck.
“Fuck!”
Ingratitude.
The little beast had bared its fangs and slammed the Alpha against the wall. The man’s brow twitched violently; the pain in his flesh was sharp. A massive amount of pheromones were sucked away by the Omega through the blood. The Cedarwood smoothed out the Omega’s restless heat, and Lu Siyan’s blurred eyes gradually cleared as his sanity briefly returned.
Lu Siyan blinked. Wait… why was he biting an Alpha’s shoulder? An S-class one?
The Omega realized a beat too late how much trouble he had caused and immediately sprang away from the man. He took a moment to process the situation. “S-sorry.”
He hadn’t meant it, even if his fingers were touching a lip stained with the man’s blood. The Omega avoided eye contact, stammering as he backed toward the emergency door, his strength failing him.
The Alpha clutched his injured shoulder, his waist bent, and he dropped to one knee. The man’s eyes darkened—the situation was wrong, especially the scent radiating from his body.
Lu Siyan’s breath hitched, and he nearly jumped. “R-rut?”
How? Why so suddenly? Could it be because of that bite?
An Omega in heat and an Alpha in rut alone in a room? This was practically an invitation to a crime. Lu Siyan felt guilty and worried as he pressed against the door. “I’ll go get a doctor for you.”
But his legs were too weak to run far. Just as his fingers gripped the door handle, a shadow loomed behind him. The man grabbed the gland at the back of his neck and hauled him back.
The Omega instinctively shrunk back and almost screamed as his “vital point” was seized. The man pinned him forcefully against the same wall he had just been leaning on, his large hand pressing down on the boy’s fluffy head. With just a little pressure from that broad palm to flatten the back of his neck and expose the gland, he could feel the delicate Omega trembling under his absolute suppression.
The Alpha had completely lost control. The rut had been forcibly triggered by the pheromones the Omega had released during his heat.
He leaned down, his teeth piercing the gland that had never been touched before—domineering, fierce, and leaving no room for escape. Lu Siyan was pinned by a single hand. Before he slipped into total unconsciousness, he faintly heard the man behind him mutter in a raspy voice:
“You were the one who provoked me first.”
