Married The Crybaby Childhood Crush First, Then Fell in Love - Chapter 9
The day before going to the Civil Affairs Bureau to register their marriage, Lin Wanqing was called to stay at home.
Qiao Lihua placed the customized dress in front of her. Not far away, Lin Zhenxi watched the scene with malice.
Lin Wanqing glanced at her indifferently. Lin Zhenxi, fearful of being forced to bow ninety degrees and apologize last time, turned around with a very ugly expression.
Qiao Lihua chattered incessantly, “You need to be obedient and serve Yan Qiu well. Don’t forget you are a member of the Lin family; you must strive for more benefits for the family. Do you understand?”
Lin Wanqing frowned at the dress her mother chose. It was a heavily diamond-encrusted gown that screamed cheapness typical of an early-century, urban-rural blend, with expensive materials piled up ridiculously and a huge brand logo printed on it.
Qiao Lihua: “Lin Wanqing!”
Lin Wanqing looked up at her, “Does Mother have anything else to say?”
Lin Wanqing’s eyes observed her without batting an eyelid. Due to the registration tomorrow, she was nervous, the corners of her eyes were red, and her lips were pursed into a thin line.
Soft yet resilient.
Qiao Lihua’s face as a mother had been completely humiliated when the jewelry necklace she had prepared for Lin Wanqing was returned last time.
“Your sister is in high school, and in two years, she’ll be studying abroad and interning at the company, which will be a huge expense. Be sensible.”
Lin Wanqing: “.”
Qiao Lihua leaned in and looked at her fiercely, “Don’t think you’re something special just because you’re marrying Yan Qiu. You will never be able to repay what you owe the Lin family. You are just an illegitimate child who can’t see the light of day. You should be eternally grateful for being born.”
Lin Wanqing looked outwardly soft-natured but was inwardly very strong, not someone to be manipulated easily.
“So?”
Lin Wanqing directly faced her mother’s greedy eyes, watching the deep wrinkles at the corners of her eyes. Since entering university, her father hadn’t cared about her studies, and her mother couldn’t even be bothered to pay her tuition, let alone living expenses, perhaps assuming she was too timid to bring it up to her father.
Lin Wanqing lowered her eyes, took off the garment she was wearing, and put it in a bag.
“With all due respect, you don’t seem to have a direct bargaining chip to threaten me.”
In the past, Lin Wanqing was obedient to her out of gratitude for the Lin family raising her. Having her marry Yan Qiu, the benefits gained by her father, mother, and sister were already enough to offset all the years of upbringing.
Qiao Lihua’s face turned livid with anger, “Lin Wanqing!”
Lin Wanqing slowly closed the door, showing neither anger nor regret.
She sighed softly and put the hideously ugly dress in her own room.
…
The next morning, Yan Qiu’s car was parked outside the small courtyard gate.
Yu Fei followed her boss, “Wow, Miss Lin, your outfit today is truly… overly grand.”
Fortunately, Lin Wanqing was naturally beautiful and a born clothes hanger. Even the ugliest, most exaggerated clothes looked stylish on her.
She herself was more dazzling than those blindingly large rhinestones.
Lin Wanqing was helpless, “Secretary Sister…”
Yan Qiu raised an eyebrow, “Is everyone your sister?”
Lin Wanqing was flustered, “Sister Qiu Qiu, thank you for paying for the dress that day. I… I will pay you back later.”
Yan Qiu held out her hand. Lin Wanqing bent down, allowing her to caress her cheek.
Perhaps they needed to pretend to be affectionate in front of others. Lin Wanqing narrowed her eyes like a Holland Lop rabbit enjoying a stroke.
Yan Qiu said gently, “Go change into the clothes I got for you.”
Qiao Lihua stood nearby, her expression constantly shifting. “Old Lin, say something quickly. The clothes I picked for Wanqing are so beautiful.”
Lin Hui didn’t want to bother with such trivial matters, only finding his wife increasingly noisy. He bowed and offered his hands,
“CEO Yan, when do you think the wedding should be held?”
Yan Qiu’s finger stroked the metallic wheelchair. Although covered with a layer of soft leather, it still couldn’t conceal the wheelchair’s inherent weight and sense of helplessness.
The weather on the day of the marriage registration was excellent, with warm sunlight shining on Yan Qiu. She was wearing a very formal outfit, with a somewhat out-of-place gold enamel earring dangling from her earlobe.
“The wedding is not urgent,” Yan Qiu looked at the couple, “Are you two in a hurry?”
Lin Hui dared not say anything, “Not urgent, not urgent. Everything is arranged according to CEO Yan.”
Yan Qiu was satisfied, “Next time, don’t dress my wife in such a ridiculous outfit. Others might think my Yan family is in decline.”
Qiao Lihua couldn’t even maintain a shred of a smile, “I just wanted Wanqing to look festive.”
Yan Qiu saw Lin Wanqing come out and stopped the conversation, “Whether you want festive or you want to control her, you know best.”
Qiao Lihua’s face turned pale. Her dry lips opened and closed, unable to utter a single word.
God knows Yan Qiu would care so much about Lin Wanqing.
…
Upon reaching the Civil Affairs Bureau,
The date of their registration was chosen by a Feng Shui master hired by Old Master Yan. It was the most auspicious day in the past two months. There weren’t many couples queuing at the entrance, just scattered pairs sitting or standing intimately together.
Compared to other sweet and affectionate couples waiting to register, Yan Qiu sat in a wheelchair, while Lin Wanqing stood obediently behind her like an assistant.
Yan Qiu’s fingers tapped rhythmically on the wheelchair armrest.
Yu Fei desperately winked at Lin Wanqing: Go, go quickly, go snuggle up to the boss.
Lin Wanqing responded with her eyes: With so many people, is that appropriate?
Yu Fei’s eyes signaled: Yes, it’s very appropriate. The boss likes initiative.
Thankfully, Yan Qiu, being in the wheelchair, couldn’t see their silent exchange. Lin Wanqing forced herself to sit next to Yan Qiu.
“Sister Qiu Qiu…”
Seeing her little wife cozy up to her like the other small couples,
Yan Qiu quietly controlled the wheelchair to move a little closer to her.
Lin Wanqing’s palms were sweating profusely from nervousness, and her lips were dry with tension, moving like a rabbit’s tripartite mouth.
Life after marriage was unknown and terrifying. Perhaps Yan Qiu would have other lovers, or perhaps she would lash out at her when in a bad mood, or maybe she wouldn’t allow her to work or wear skirts outside.
Marriage was the beginning of a beautiful life for others, but for Lin Wanqing, it was stepping out of one fiery pit into another.
Yan Qiu: “Are you shaking?”
Lin Wanqing was startled and sat up straight, “N-no, I’m not.”
Yan Qiu gently stroked her cold, trembling hand, “Don’t be afraid.”
Lin Wanqing looked at her with red-rimmed eyes, a plea in her gaze that she herself hadn’t realized was there,
“Should we sign a prenuptial agreement?”
“No,” Yan Qiu leaned closer to sniff her, “Sweetie, you smell so lovely, very similar to the scent from a studio I like. We even have the same preferences.”
In a public place, she was obligated to pretend to be intimate with Yan Qiu. Her fingers tightly gripped the snow-white skirt hem, feeling Yan Qiu’s beast-like breathing near her fragile neck.
It was the fear of being preyed upon.
Lin Wanqing let out a small, vulnerable whimper…
She was terrified to the point of tears.
Yan Qiu wiped away her tears, “It’s our turn.”
She cried from just a slight touch near her neck. This wouldn’t do.
At the counter, the two sat together for a joint photo. One smiled naturally, while the other’s smile was strained, with the red blush from recently crying still visible near her eyes.
Yan Qiu looked at her affectionately, “Be good, don’t be nervous. Sign the marriage certificate.”
Lin Wanqing’s hand holding the pen was trembling with nervousness. Yan Qiu watched her with indulgence and affection.
Lin Wanqing wiped her tears, marveling at Yan Qiu’s excellent acting skills.
Yu Fei: “Wow, Miss Lin is so moved she’s crying.”
The official working at the counter exclaimed about the beauty of love, “The bride is so beautiful. You two must be deeply in love.”
Yu Fei: “Yes, their child is already three years old.”
The official: “?!”
“??” Lin Wanqing thought Yu Fei’s mouth deserved to be a liability.
With the small red booklet in hand, Lin Wanqing looked at the couples passing by outside and still felt that this moment was unbelievable.
Yan Qiu: “What’s the first thing other couples do when they get their marriage certificate?”
Lin Wanqing’s eyelashes fluttered violently. She bent down, mimicking the couple diagonally across from them, and gently touched Yan Qiu’s lips with her own, like a dragonfly lightly touching the water.
Yan Qiu pinched the skin on the back of her neck, “Kissing is not like that.”
Lin Wanqing’s breathing was rapid, her head felt light and dizzy, “I-I don’t know how. Please, Sister, let me go.”
Yan Qiu forcefully bit her lips, clumsily prying open her mouth, her tongue sweeping the inner wall of Lin Wanqing’s oral cavity.
The kiss was lingering and soft. Lin Wanqing was bent over, unable to escape as Yan Qiu controlled her neck, unaware of how much time had passed.
After the kiss, Lin Wanqing’s lips were bright red and swollen, and tears uncontrollably dripped from her chin.
Yan Qiu wiped her lips, “First time?”
Lin Wanqing’s clumsy and fearful look spoke for itself—a truly pitiful and shattered picture of a decent girl.
Yan Qiu: “Please get used to it quickly. In the future, countless kisses and more intimate things await us.”
She continued, “Did you learn? Now, take the initiative and kiss me once.”
