Male Lead, Let Go of That Heroine—Let Me! [Quick Transmigration] - Chapter 6
Chapter 6
In the past, Yan Hui was bound by a system, traversing through the worlds of various novels to play the role of the vicious female supporting character.
Yan Hui was naturally gay, but because she had to complete missions, she endured her disgust every day to follow the plot—seducing the male leads and oppressing the female leads—ultimately serving as a stepping stone for the protagonists to end up together.
She had completed thousands of these hackneyed missions, performing each one perfectly. Her points grew more numerous, and her life grew increasingly dull, tedious, and meaningless.
Yan Hui began to attack the system, intentionally disrupting its programming. The system would continue to issue missions, but the core program of the system started to side with her.
Starting from this world, she no longer planned to complete a single mission. She wanted to do whatever she pleased in every world. The more the system wanted her to do something, the more she did the opposite. She simply wanted to test whether she would truly be destroyed, as the system initially claimed, if all her points were deducted.
Yan Hui looked at Zong Yue, whose eyes were full of confusion, doubt, and a hint of bashful embarrassment. She wrapped her arm around Zong Yue’s waist, pulling her close. She licked her lips. “Zong Yue, haven’t you noticed that I’m interested in you?”
Zong Yue’s eyes widened, and her voice trembled. “…What?”
This was the first time Zong Yue felt she had lost her composure in front of Yan Hui.
Yan Hui lowered her head and gently sucked on Zong Yue’s lip. In disbelief, Zong Yue pushed Yan Hui away, covered her mouth, and said sharply, “….Yan Hui!”
Yan Hui touched her lips and said with a smile, “I’m here. Don’t shout; what if you attract someone? Or do you want to go public? I wouldn’t mind.”
Zong Yue felt Yan Hui had gone mad. Yan Hui clearly hated her—she had intentionally targeted her during the talent show and always opposed her in the group. It was impossible for Yan Hui to like her.
But… why did she kiss her? Was it just to disgust her?
“Is this fun for you?” Zong Yue looked at her. “….Just to disgust me?”
Yan Hui: “If I wanted to disgust you, why would I kiss you?”
“You clearly hate me. It’s impossible for you to like me.”
“Then do I need to prove it again?” Yan Hui licked her lips. “Want a French kiss? Or something deeper? I’m down for anything.”
Hearing Yan Hui’s blunt words, Zong Yue’s face instantly flushed crimson. She had never been in a relationship; even the kiss just now was her first kiss. “I-if you like me, why did you oppose me at every turn?”
“That was to intentionally catch your attention. If I didn’t provoke you, how would you have noticed me?”
Zong Yue: “….”
Yan Hui looked very serious; for a moment, Zong Yue couldn’t distinguish whether she was telling the truth or a lie.
But she still didn’t believe Yan Hui could like her.
“But… we’re both women.”
“So what?” Yan Hui raised an eyebrow. “If we like each other, gender isn’t that important.”
Zong Yue looked at her and said coldly, “But… I don’t like you.”
Seeing the female lead looking like she wanted to kill someone, Yan Hui nodded. “I know.”
“Good. I can act as if this never happened,” Zong Yue checked the time; it was already the early hours of the morning. “….Let’s keep our distance from now on.”
Yan Hui grabbed Zong Yue’s hand. Zong Yue tried to shake her off but couldn’t budge. “Let go.”
“Zong Yue, we’ve known each other for so long, I thought you’d understand me well.”
In the past, she might have understood Yan Hui, but the current Yan Hui was someone she couldn’t see through and didn’t want to understand.
“We are just teammates,” Zong Yue said.
Yan Hui smiled. “Then let me tell you what kind of person I am.”
“I don’t want to hear it.” Zong Yue frowned. “Let go.”
Yan Hui turned and pinned Zong Yue against the wall, their bodies pressed tightly together. Zong Yue’s hands were pinned above her head, rendering her unable to move. She warned Yan Hui, “Yan Hui, even a rabbit will bite when cornered.”
“Then bite. I’ll let you bite me.” Yan Hui leaned close to Zong Yue’s ear. “Just be gentle.”
Zong Yue’s ear twitched; she furrowed her brows and moved her head away. “What exactly do you want?”
“I have a habit: if I like something, I must have it.”
Zong Yue gritted her teeth. “…I am not a ‘thing’.”
Yan Hui smiled faintly. “People are no exception. Zong Yue, I’ll give you time to consider, but the result will definitely be decided by me.” She kissed Zong Yue’s forehead and said softly, “Yue Yue, get some rest. I’ll be heartbroken if you’re exhausted.”
Yan Hui let go of Zong Yue and left the practice room, leaving Zong Yue alone to struggle with her thoughts.
The next day, when Yan Hui arrived at the recording studio, she noticed Zong Yue wasn’t there. She asked, “Where is Zong Yue?”
Fang Xiaoxiao glanced at Yan Hui’s expression. Seeing that she didn’t look like she was about to lose her temper, she said, “The Captain isn’t feeling well. She won’t be coming to practice today.”
Could Zong Yue have been scared off by her yesterday?
Yan Hui raised an eyebrow. “What happened?”
Fang Xiaoxiao gave her a resentful look. “The Captain practiced too hard yesterday, so her body can’t handle it today.”
If you hadn’t dragged the Captain into practicing, she wouldn’t be unable to get up today. When Fang Xiaoxiao tried to wake Zong Yue this morning, Zong Yue was so tired she couldn’t even sit up.
Yan Hui smiled faintly. “Oh, okay.”
She hadn’t actually made Zong Yue teach her for very long last night, so it was impossible for Zong Yue to be that tired. It was obvious: Zong Yue was avoiding her.
Seeing Yan Hui smile, Fang Xiaoxiao was so angry she could barely breathe. You actually have the nerve to smile?
“I’m done practicing. You guys continue.” They were practicing several songs today. After hearing Fang Xiaoxiao and Xiao Su sing a few times, Yan Hui had already learned them. For the remaining time, she wanted to go see the person “faking” an illness. “I’m leaving first.”
Xiao Su watched Yan Hui leave and sighed. “Same as always. She hasn’t changed at all.”
Fang Xiaoxiao sneered. “If she changed, she wouldn’t be Yan Hui. Forget her; her part in this song isn’t big anyway, it won’t affect much.”
Yan Hui went up to the third floor. At the very end was the dormitory for the three members. The door wasn’t locked. Yan Hui walked in casually. There were two rooms, one large and one small. Fang Xiaoxiao and Xiao Su lived in the large one, while the small one—about the size of Yan Hui’s storage room—was Zong Yue’s. A bed, a wardrobe, and a desk; it was simple and clear at a glance.
The sound of running water came from the bathroom. Yan Hui glanced at the bathroom and sat down leisurely on the sofa to wait for her to come out.
Zong Yue had stayed in the practice room for over an hour to calm down last night before returning to the dorm. This morning, when Fang Xiaoxiao came to get her for the studio, she skipped practice for the first time. Perhaps Yan Hui wouldn’t be at the studio, but she didn’t dare gamble. The current Yan Hui was too unpredictable; she would avoid her for as long as she could.
Before showering, Zong Yue had asked Xiao Su if Yan Hui was at the studio. When Xiao Su replied that she was, Zong Yue felt relieved. It was a good thing she didn’t go; otherwise, she really wouldn’t know how to interact with her.
The phone on the coffee table vibrated a few times. It was a WeChat message for Zong Yue. Yan Hui glanced at it and saw a message from Fang Xiaoxiao.
– Captain, Yan Hui stopped practicing.
After Yan Hui read it, the screen went black.
The sound of water in the bathroom stopped. After a while, the door opened. Yan Hui turned to look. Zong Yue was drying her hair, wearing a long white T-shirt and white shorts. The damp fabric clung to her body, leaving little to the imagination; Yan Hui could even catch a glimpse of Zong Yue’s abs.
Sensing someone in the room, Zong Yue thought Xiao Su and the others had returned. She looked up, and her expression changed instantly. “Yan Hui! Why are you here?”
Yan Hui made no effort to hide her predatory gaze as she scanned Zong Yue’s body. When Zong Yue saw that look, her first instinct was to cover her chest, but then she felt that would be strange.
“Fang Xiaoxiao said you were sick, so I came to see you,” Yan Hui said. “But looking at you now, it seems you’ve recovered quite well.”
Zong Yue’s eyes darted around. “I took a shower and feel a bit better. I’m much better now. Thank you for coming to see me. You can leave now.”
“Leave?” Yan Hui stood up and walked over. Zong Yue watched her approach and backed away until she hit the door. Yan Hui propped her arm beside Zong Yue’s ear and locked the door. Seeing this, Zong Yue knit her brows tightly. “Yan Hui, what are you doing?”
“Nothing. Don’t be afraid. I just wanted to ask how Yue Yue plans to thank me?”
“What?”
Yan Hui smiled. “Didn’t Yue Yue just say ‘thank you’ for coming to see you? What is the thank-you gift?”
Zong Yue: “….”
That was just a polite formality. Taking it seriously is your problem.
“Or was Yue Yue just saying words she didn’t mean because she wanted to kick me out?” Yan Hui pouted. “I’m heartbroken. You have to coax me.”
“…..Get up.” Yan Hui was leaning too close. They were pressed so tightly together that Zong Yue could feel her chest, waist, legs, and a restless hand. “..Take your hand out.”
Yan Hui, whose hand had already slipped under Zong Yue’s shirt, said in surprise, “Oh my, I didn’t even realize when it went in?”
A vein throbbed on Zong Yue’s forehead. “Yan Hui, don’t cross the line.”
“How am I crossing the line?” Her hand slowly slid up along Zong Yue’s waistline. “I like you. Everything I do to you is an expression of being unable to control my feelings. Don’t you like it?”
Zong Yue panted heavily and said coldly, “I don’t like it. Take it away.”
“Zong Yue, you’re lying. Your heart is beating very fast.” Yan Hui chuckled softly, grabbing Zong Yue’s other hand to let her feel. “Can’t you feel it? Don’t you want it?”
Zong Yue shook her off. “I don’t.”
“Why not?” Yan Hui looked into her eyes. “If you’re with me, you can have anything. If you want fame, I’ll help you. If you want money, I’ll give it to you. So why don’t you…”
Slap!
Yan Hui touched her cheek, which had been knocked aside. She sneered, “What? You don’t like any of that? Then what do you want?”
Zong Yue glared intensely at Yan Hui, gritting her teeth. “Get the hell out.”
Yan Hui looked up. “Zong Yue, you hit me?”
“So what if I hit you?” Zong Yue’s eyes were red. “I told you, even a rabbit bites when cornered.”
Yan Hui stepped forward, grabbed Zong Yue’s hands to pin them above her head, and pinched her chin. She let out a scoffing laugh. “Why did you join the talent show? Why do you want to debut so badly? Why do you endure a teammate like me holding you back? Isn’t it all for money? If Song Lan leaves Fengxiang, I bet you definitely won’t leave. Am I right?”
Zong Yue froze. “It’s none of your business.”
“Fengxiang Entertainment is one of the top companies in the country. The resources are premium, and the pay is the highest in the industry. Artists here get famous quickly and make money fast. And what you need most happens to be money—specifically to fill that black hole of a family of yours, isn’t it?”
Zong Yue said angrily, “You investigated me?”
Yan Hui tilted her head and grinned. “No investigation needed. Artists have no privacy. Your affairs can be found easily by any tabloid reporter with a motive. It’s quite simple.”
Zong Yue actually knew that if she debuted, the mess of her family affairs would eventually be unearthed. It was only a matter of time. Whether Yan Hui knew now or the public found out later, it was all equally unsightly.
“So what? I need money, but I can earn it. I don’t need yours.” Zong Yue snorted coldly. “What do you have besides your family background? Someone like you is useless without the Yan Corporation. If the Yan family were gone, what would you have left? What right do you have to talk about keeping me as a mistress with your money?”
“So that’s the kind of person I am in your eyes?” Yan Hui touched her chin, let go of Zong Yue’s hands, and said coldly, “Keep you? Heh. Zong Yue, you think too highly of yourself.”
Yan Hui gave Zong Yue a deep, lingering look before opening the door and walking out.
Zong Yue’s strength left her, and she slumped to the floor. She stared at her hand. In her agitation, she had slapped Yan Hui. Was she finished?
She had hit Yan Hui. She probably couldn’t survive in this industry anymore. Maybe Fengxiang Entertainment would blacklist her?
Tears fell into her palms, one drop, then two. Zong Yue leaned against the door, hugging herself, desperately suppressing the sound of her sobbing.
