Life After Being Claimed by the Disabled Dragon Lady - Chapter 55
In the deeper secret room of the treasure chamber, there was no magic crystal ball. Violet watched as Long Ling hugged the dragon tail and went inside, not coming out for a long time.
She toyed with the ruby on her finger, moving her wheelchair and placing the magic crystal ball by the bed.
Last time, she put the little Strawberry Dragon in an empty fish tank, demanding water and food, deliberately making trouble for her. This time, she probably wouldn’t settle down so easily either.
That night, Violet slept alone in the bed, gently closing her eyes, waiting for Long Ling to cause a fuss again like during the day. But this time, it was exceptionally quiet.
The lights in the bedroom were bright, and the fireplace radiated warm heat.
Violet usually held Long Ling in her arms to sleep. Suddenly, with a dragon missing, the bed somehow felt cold.
Perhaps because it was too lonely, the crimson dragon tail popped out on its own.
Violet ignored the tail, pulled up the quilt, and tightly closed her eyes.
The surroundings were silent; the little Strawberry Dragon made no sound at all.
What was she doing in there for so long? There were gems everywhere in the manor; what was there to look at? Was she repenting?
Violet opened her eyes, sat up in bed, and picked up her staff.
Just as she was about to open the secret room door, she paused slightly, then hesitantly put the staff down again.
The next second, she picked up the staff without hesitation and opened the secret room door.
Long Ling, tired of cuddling with the gems, was leaning against the wall sleeping when she suddenly heard movement from above the secret room. She quickly scrambled out of the gem treasure chamber.
Violet, dressed in a black silk nightgown, sat in her wheelchair at the entrance of the secret room, looking down at her.
Long Ling had thought Violet would confine her for many days after exiling her, so she hadn’t expected to see Violet again so soon.
“Viel, why are you here?”
Upon seeing her, the little Strawberry Dragon’s icy-blue eyes lit up, then quickly became misty, her nose turning red. Her tone sounded wronged and pitiful.
She had probably hit her quite hard today. The little Strawberry Dragon’s posture was a bit stiff as she ran over, like a wounded, limping puppy.
Violet’s heart involuntarily softened. But remembering Long Ling’s betrayal and secret meeting with another Omega, her tone turned very cold: “I didn’t permit you to go to the treasure chamber.”
Long Ling clenched her fingers, looking somewhat lost.
Was Violet coming over in the middle of the night just to stop her from looking at the gems?
Long Ling stood on the step below, her voice low: “I won’t go again next time.”
Violet slightly raised her chin, staring at Long Ling’s fair cheeks, waiting for the little dragon to repent and apologize.
Long Ling felt her heart pounding nervously under Violet’s gaze, feeling anxious: “Are you going to continue locking me up?”
Violet glanced at her coldly: “Every dragon who has betrayed me will pay a terrible price. Do you think you have the right to escape?”
The expression on Long Ling’s faces instantly collapsed. She knew that Violet coming over late at night was not just about sending her to prison.
Many insignificant little ones like her in the palace often died quietly in the dead of night.
She asked pitifully, “Will I be beheaded?”
Violet kept a straight face and said nothing.
Long Ling asked sadly, “A gift of poisoned wine for suicide?”
Violet still didn’t speak.
Long Ling understood. This was to give her a dignified death, allowing her to hang herself with a white silk rope.
What should she do? Could she possibly hold out until Ms. Mo Dai came to rescue her?
Long Ling’s eyes instantly reddened: “I don’t want to die.”
If she died, she would become the first dragon in the world to be wrongly executed.
In her original world, she would have already knelt down and loudly proclaimed that Violet was killing a loyal subject.
But that didn’t work here. She could only look at Violet with such loyal eyes, trying to awaken Violet’s conscience.
Violet rolled her eyes at her. What a useless little Strawberry Dragon.
With such small guts, how did she dare to go and secretly meet another Omega Dragon? She should have just stayed obediently by her side forever. Yet, she even dared to run away!
She raised her hand and used magic to pull Long Ling close. Long Ling suddenly moved closer to Violet, her breathing becoming urgent with nervousness, afraid the evil dragon would devour her whole.
Violet clutched Long Ling’s collar. Her heart pounded nervously. Violet’s face suddenly came closer, her high nose gently touching hers, their breath close enough to feel, and her cold, alluring red lips looked tempting.
Violet’s tone was low and icy: “Killing you would be letting you off easy. You can only be locked up by me, and you’re not allowed to go anywhere. Your betrayal of me is your current punishment.”
Long Ling was stunned by Violet’s deep gaze. The warm breath carried a rose-like fragrance, tempting her lips to dry and her throat to involuntarily swallow.
She subconsciously wanted to admit her mistake, but thinking of the injustice she had suffered, she couldn’t help but bite her lip and defend herself: “You’re wronging me! I did nothing wrong!”
Her silver-white long hair was suddenly pushed aside by slender fingers. Through the thin fabric of her clothes, Long Ling felt Violet suddenly bite her vulnerable scent gland. The moment the sharp teeth clamped down, a wave of pain instantly struck.
Unlike the pleasure felt when an Omega’s scent gland is bitten, Alphas mostly feel pleasure through inhaling pheromones. Being bitten like this only causes pain.
Long Ling’s delicate eyebrows furrowed in pain. So, it hurt this much to be bitten by an Omega. Did Violet feel this much pain when she bit her before? Was her technique that poor?
Was it because she didn’t serve the evil dragon lady well enough that the evil dragon lady didn’t like her as much?
Violet felt the little Strawberry Dragon’s body trembling with pain, her arms taut. She bit hard, but ultimately couldn’t bring herself to use too much force, releasing her grip after venting her anger.
Long Ling’s silver-white dragon tail, however, had somehow slipped beneath Violet’s skirt, wrapping around her crimson dragon tail, twisting tightly inch by inch. The smooth scales rubbed against each other, making a sound that seemed to heat up the room in the quiet night.
Long Ling had never actively initiated an advance on Violet like this. She had always felt that since Violet’s legs were disabled, she needed to be gentle with her. But this time, Violet kept bullying her and even bit her. She truly couldn’t stand it anymore.
Violet saw her own dragon tail being intruded upon by Long Ling. Although she should have pushed Long Ling away, her scent gland suddenly felt a surge of stimulation. Rose-like pheromones involuntarily seeped out, almost sliding down the two intertwined dragon tails.
Violet’s cheeks flushed red, but a flash of Long Ling being entangled with another Omega crossed her mind. She immediately pushed Long Ling off her body, snapping: “Get down! Continue repenting your sins.”
Long Ling stumbled a few steps from the push, almost falling down the stairs.
She hadn’t yet recovered from the warmth of the moment when she saw Violet about to close the secret room door. She quickly said, “I didn’t commit any crime!”
Violet didn’t give her a chance to argue, watching her with cold eyes: “If you dare to go out and secretly meet another Omega again, I will make sure you don’t even have the chance to speak.”
Long Ling only wanted to leave because she didn’t want to be constantly locked up. And Ms. Mo Dai was only helping her out of kindness. She had also promised her that she would provide medicine to treat the evil dragon lady’s leg injury.
Although she could buy medicine herself, ordinary medicinal wine might not be effective enough for the evil dragon lady’s leg injury. In this magical world where even elves could exist, she wanted to provide the evil dragon lady with the best possible treatment.
Seeing Violet about to leave, the only sliver of light about to disappear, Long Ling quickly said: “Don’t go, Your Grace. It’s so dark in here. I’m hungry, I’m thirsty, and I’m cold. I want something to eat.”
Violet’s wheelchair indeed stopped. Long Ling saw Violet’s beautiful profile and thought she would soften and take her to bed, but Violet still closed the secret room door.
Violet had seen too many Alphas take an inch when given an inch. If she were so easy to talk to, the line of Alphas pursuing her would already stretch to the capital city.
She would only pamper Long Ling when she wanted to. When she didn’t, Long Ling had to honestly stay inside and take her punishment.
Violet still had the scent of strawberry pheromones on her, and her dragon tail was also damp. She called Elina in to attend to her in the bathroom.
Violet leaned in the bathtub and told Elina, “Go prepare some food and drink, and also grab a set of bedding. Bring them to the bedroom later.”
Elina quickly bowed in assent, guessing it must be for Miss Long Ling. It was normal for two dragons to eat and drink after such an intimate moment late at night, but what was the bedding for?
Elina suddenly realized and immediately went to prepare a new set of bedding. However, when she brought the items to the bedroom, she found the bedding on the big bed was all neat and clean. She checked the floor too, but there was nothing.
Miss Long Ling wasn’t in the bedroom either. As a servant, Elina didn’t dare to ask, so she quietly put down the items and left.
After Violet finished bathing, she used magic to dry her hair and body herself. She let Elina attend to her and helped her back into the wheelchair. After dismissing Elina, she reopened the secret room door.
Long Ling had thought Violet wouldn’t come back, but the secret room door opened, and food and drink were placed in a container and handed to her. They were still warm when she took them out, along with a warm quilt.
Why did it feel like she was going to be kept in the secret room forever?
Long Ling took the container and pleaded with Violet, “Viel, I want to go out.”
Violet crossed her arms: “You can come out when you’ve finished reflecting.”
Long Ling couldn’t figure out what she had done wrong. She wrapped herself in the small quilt, stacked gold coins to create a table and chair, and sat down to eat, chewing on bread and sipping mushroom soup.
The mushroom soup was salty, and the chopped onions inside hadn’t been properly sautéed. It wasn’t as delicious as hers. She missed her crystal little kitchen so much.
When would this life end? Could Ms. Mo Dai really help her get out?
Ms. Mo Dai, whom Long Ling was desperately thinking of, finally gathered all the funds three days later and rushed to Illidari Manor with the old family patriarch.
Violet was receiving the messengers in the administrative hall. She was a bit confused when she heard that Long Ling’s grandmother and mother were coming together. Why the sudden visit at this time?
She asked Butler Marcia to entertain them first, changed into more formal clothes herself, and then went over in her wheelchair.
It was the first time the old patriarch had seen Duchess Violet in person. If it weren’t for Long Ling’s relationship with the Duchess, she wouldn’t have the qualification to visit directly, as she was the head of a truly declining family.
But after Long Ling’s mother gave them the assets, she immediately wanted to redeem her child. The old patriarch could only shamelessly come to ask for her.
Although Violet arrived in a wheelchair, her aura was very strong, as if she were looking down upon them.
The old patriarch couldn’t help but want to be more respectful the moment she saw Violet: “Your Grace, I am Long Ling’s grandmother, Long Qiushan, and this is Long Ling’s mother, Long Modai.”
Violet’s eyes lightly swept over the two dragons sitting on the sofa. From their features and eyes, they indeed bore some resemblance to Long Ling, suggesting a familial relationship.
But why was Long Ling’s mother so young, and why did she resemble the Omega Long Ling was secretly meeting? Even the scent of her pheromones was similar. Could she have misunderstood Long Ling?
Violet’s tone was very calm: “Please sit down. You are Long Ling’s elders, so there’s no need to be so formal. Is there anything you wish to discuss at my manor?”
It was also Mo Dai’s first time seeing her daughter’s fiancée this close. Violet was indeed as beautiful and charming as the rumors described, with noble manners in every movement. If she didn’t know that Violet was disabled and an Omega, her sheer presence would surpass any Alpha Queen Mo Dai had ever met.
Though such a woman was excellent, she was too dominating. Her daughter’s temper was so gentle. Even before marriage, Violet was already relying on her power to constantly bully her daughter. If they actually got married in the future, Long Ling would surely be completely suppressed.
She hoped her daughter could live a safe and happy life. If she could find an equally gentle woman, they could live in harmony and she wouldn’t have to suffer.
With this thought, Mo Dai’s eyes became resolute. She gently nudged the old patriarch’s arm.
Adhering to the usual Eastern reserve, the old patriarch first exchanged pleasantries with Violet: “Well, Long Ling has been with you for half a year now. She’s been clumsy since childhood, and she must have caused you a lot of trouble these past few days at your manor…”
The old patriarch observed that Violet still looked nonchalant, and her heart suddenly felt unsteady.
Logically, if the Duchess had a lot of friction with Long Ling, she should have mentioned more unsatisfactory aspects of Long Ling at this point. But why wasn’t the Duchess following the expected script?
And since Long Ling was locked up, didn’t that mean the Duchess was unhappy with the engagement? Or did she want Long Ling to follow her without any title, serve as her temporary mistress for a while, and then discard their little dragon?
My poor child. If that was the case, she wouldn’t agree either.
Violet elegantly picked up her coffee cup and took a small sip: “Continue.”
The old patriarch carefully chose her words: “She is the only Alpha in our family. Some time ago, the family business started to improve, and we managed to earn some money. If you…”
Violet’s gaze suddenly became sharp. The old patriarch had never encountered such a forceful presence.
The coffee cup was suddenly placed back on the table, clinking softly against the coaster.
Violet said flatly: “If you wish to visit Long Ling, you are welcome to stay at my manor for some time. If you have nothing else to say, I will have the butler show you to your quarters.”
The old patriarch was immediately terrified, her aged cheeks hesitant. She looked at Mo Dai beside her: “Well… actually, staying first is fine. I haven’t seen Long Ling in a long time, and I don’t know how she’s been doing lately.”
Mo Dai immediately clenched the old patriarch’s arm tightly, warning her through gritted teeth in her ear: “Don’t forget what you promised me.”
The old patriarch could only stand up again, looking firmly at Violet, and seriously said: “If you are unwilling to be engaged to Long Ling, we would like to take Long Ling home. We have also prepared the money to repay the debt, and we wish to renegotiate the agreement with you, Your Grace.”
Mo Dai glared fiercely at the old patriarch again. Why was this old dragon still so stubborn? This sentence didn’t sound like a breakup; it sounded like a forced marriage!
