- Chapter 49 - Not Sharing a Bed with Her
Last time, Long Ling applied the medicine herself, merely smearing it on her body, and the wound quickly healed.
She didn’t want intimate contact with Violet now, and when Violet came over with the medicine, she dodged and weaved, refusing to let her apply it.
Violet dipped her slender fingertips into a bit of the magical medicine and gently admonished the silver-white little dragon on the bed.
“If you move again, I’ll be angry.”
This sort of task was usually handled by servants. Her willingness to personally attend to the little dragon showed how much she valued her, yet this little Strawberry Dragon was ungrateful.
Long Ling used her horns to push away Violet’s wrist and flared up: “I don’t want you to apply my medicine.”
She was determined to oppose Violet!
So what if she got angry? She was already grounded anyway, so she could be as angry as she liked!
Violet noticed the little dragon’s resistance and frowned, saying, “If you don’t apply the medicine, how will your scales heal? Always so careless, getting hurt and then feeling wronged.”
Her distress wasn’t from the pain of falling. Violet only thought she was deliberately throwing a tantrum.
Why come to see her if she was confined to the ‘Cold Palace’?
Long Ling’s plump dragon tail thumped impatiently on the bed: “Give me the bottle, I can apply the medicine myself.”
Violet lightly patted her tail: “Stop making a fuss. I already have medicine on my hand.”
Long Ling bared her sharp little teeth and bit Violet’s wrist. She wanted to bite Violet hard but couldn’t bring herself to do so.
Her icy-blue eyes secretly watched Violet, who didn’t raise her hand to hit her but simply let her bite, watching her with composure.
The arrogant and unreasonable Great Evil Dragon was truly infuriating.
Long Ling bit down harder, her sharp teeth pressing against the delicate skin, leaving a circle of red marks along Violet’s wrist.
Violet couldn’t help but smile at the little dragon. After Long Ling finished biting, she wiped off the saliva with a handkerchief: “My scent gland isn’t here. Why are you biting randomly?”
Long Ling’s fair cheeks flushed red. Of course, she knew the scent gland wasn’t there; she wasn’t trying to do that with Violet!
Violet’s eyes shimmered: “Wasn’t I just feeding you during the day? Are you hungry again tonight?”
Long Ling immediately refuted her: “I’m not hungry, I don’t want your pheromones, go away!”
Violet’s red lips curled into a slight arch and she released her rose pheromones. Long Ling was somewhat addicted to Violet’s pheromones; instantly, her heart thumped, and her breathing quickened.
Long Ling immediately held her breath. Even if she suffocated herself, she wouldn’t inhale another drop of Violet’s pheromones.
Violet watched as the entire dragon turned pink. For an Alpha, mutual attraction through pheromones is irresistible, and as the two dragons marked each other more often, they would gradually become loyal only to each other. Thus, she didn’t care about the little dragon’s verbal protests contradicting her body’s desires.
While Long Ling was busy fighting the temptation of the pheromones, she couldn’t resist, and Violet easily applied the medicine for her. After using up one bottle of the magical medicine, Long Ling’s scales quickly recovered and looked brand new.
Long Ling lay completely still on the bed, deciding to just enjoy it since she couldn’t fight back.
She thought that was the end of it after the medicine was applied, but Violet instructed her, “It’s late. I need to sleep. Carry me onto the bed.”
Long Ling sprang up on the bed, dragging her plump dragon tail, and angrily said, “You’ve made me so small now, how can I carry you?”
A hint of a smile flashed in Violet’s eyes. She picked up her staff and transformed Long Ling back into her human form.
Long Ling lifted Violet from the wheelchair, placed her on the bed, covered her with a blanket, and bent down to take off Violet’s coat.
Long Ling recalled Violet’s usual sleeping habits and couldn’t help but ask, “Do you want to take off your inner clothes and change into a nightgown?”
Suddenly, Violet hugged her waist.
Violet’s beautiful cheek gently rested against her chest: “Just hold me for a moment.”
Long Ling’s body instantly stiffened.
Ahhh, what was she doing? Wasn’t she arguing with Violet just now?!
Why did she automatically obey and help Violet whenever she was asked to do something?!
Slap her face, she wanted to slap herself! Why did she care about whether Violet needed to change her clothes?!
Long Ling pushed Violet’s hands away: “I don’t want hugs, and I don’t want to sleep with you.”
Violet held her tightly: “Why are you still throwing a tantrum? Haven’t I already told you? As long as you stay with me in the manor, there will always be a place for you here.”
Long Ling clenched her fists: “I also said I don’t want to be kept locked up in the manor by you. Anyway, I won’t sleep with you.”
Violet frowned: “If you don’t sleep with me, where do you plan to sleep?”
Long Ling defiantly said: “I’ll sleep in the kitchen.”
Violet’s beautiful eyes narrowed: “You are forbidden to go there. The kitchen smells of grease, and I don’t like it.”
Long Ling couldn’t help but erupt: “Just because you don’t like it, does everyone have to listen to you? Why are you always so overbearing?”
Violet glanced at her: “Everything here is mine, and you are mine too. Until you pay off your debt, you are not qualified to sleep separately from me.”
Long Ling clenched her jaw: “I will pay it off eventually. The tavern is already starting to make money. We earned over ten thousand silver coins today.”
Violet was unimpressed: “That’s only about one hundred gold coins. Instead of relying on the tavern to make money, you should serve me properly. I can give you a pouch of gold coins at once.”
She knew the Evil Dragon Lady was wealthy, so rich that the gold coins stored in her home could form a large mountain, each coin as thick as a gold pancake. A pouch of gold coins she casually gave out contained three thousand gold coins.
But the money her tavern earned was from her own hard work and labor, different from what the Evil Dragon Lady gave her.
Long Ling found herself unable to communicate with Violet. She turned her body, presenting her back to Violet, and coldly snorted: “I’m going to sleep. I’ll go to the farm to plant vegetables tomorrow.”
Seeing that Long Ling dared to ignore her again, Violet angrily pulled all the blankets away.
There was a fireplace in the bedroom, making it warm and not cold at all. Long Ling, like a quiet little salted fish, covered herself with the coat Violet had just taken off.
The coat still carried the scent of rose pheromones, which smelled pleasant. Although it wasn’t as soft as Violet’s embrace, she quite liked it in her heart.
She knew her body was somewhat addicted to Violet’s pheromones, but she couldn’t help it. Previously, to make Violet conceive a dragon egg, she had worked hard to mark her every day, and the more often they marked each other, the more infatuated she became.
Fortunately, she hadn’t fallen too deeply; for now, smelling the pheromones on the clothes was satisfying enough.
However, the Evil Dragon Lady wasn’t so bad after all. At least, the Evil Dragon Lady wasn’t like the nobles in the palace of her previous world, who would make her get up in the middle of the night to cook. If the dishes didn’t satisfy them, they would even deduct her monthly salary.
Long Ling comforted herself once, lying even flatter. A happy day was a happy day. She needed to sleep early, as she had to check on the vegetables at the farm tomorrow.
Violet hugged the blankets, waiting for the little dragon to burrow into her bed on her own. After waiting for a long time, she heard Long Ling’s even breathing.
How could she be asleep?!
Violet threw the blanket aside and picked up the sleeping Long Ling, pulling her back into her arms.
Violet rubbed Long Ling’s face: “Don’t sleep. You didn’t hug me tonight, didn’t kiss me, and you even dared to throw a tantrum at me.”
Long Ling was hazy with sleep, her head swaying from being rubbed. She had been shocked by the tree spirits in the Foggy Forest today and was already exhausted, so she didn’t clearly hear what Violet was mumbling.
Violet knew she was sound asleep, and rubbing her became easier. The little dragon even emitted a sweet, strawberry pheromone scent when she slept.
“It’s just an irrelevant Alpha. Was it necessary to keep arguing with me?”
The sleeping Little Strawberry Dragon whimpered and burrowed into her embrace. Violet stroked her plump dragon tail, feeling both love and resentment for the Little Strawberry Dragon.
She had never humored an Alpha like this, nor had she personally applied medicine to one. How could the little dragon be so unappreciative? Any other Alpha would have been overwhelmed with gratitude.
Violet rubbed her for a while. The little dragon’s fair cheeks were rubbed pink, and her rosy lips had a beautiful sheen of moisture.
Violet lowered her eyes and gently kissed her. The Little Strawberry Dragon’s lips were very soft.
Her first kiss with an Alpha, her first time being marked by an Alpha, her first time mutually feeding with an Alpha. They had a long future ahead.
Violet hugged the little dragon even tighter and entered a dream with her.
Long Ling was confined to the manor, guarded by dragon guards whenever she entered or left. She could only visit the farm and the pasture. Buying plant nutrient solutions and procuring vegetables were entrusted to Nora.
The tavern had only earned money for one day, and most of it was spent on supplies. Long Ling even contributed her prize money from the Salmon Feast Competition to keep the tavern running smoothly.
Aeloris didn’t immediately return to the forest and was very willing to help her. Nora mentioned that the tavern was short on vegetable supplies during this period, so Aeloris proactively arranged for the elves to deliver delicious vegetables and also asked Nora about her situation in the manor.
Long Ling had relatively free movement within the manor. The Illdare Manor was vast; it took her three months to roughly explore the interior.
She wrote to Aeloris, telling her that she was managing okay and not to worry about her. If Aeloris had things to busy herself with, she could return to the forest first.
But Aeloris didn’t give up on her. She kept encouraging and comforting her, saying she would find a way to rescue her. Occasionally, she would also ask Nora to send some rare and delicious fruits, and once she even sent a very beautiful gem, which Long Ling secretly hid, afraid of Violet seeing it.
Long Ling felt very embarrassed and could only teach Mina more recipes to let Mina cook for Aeloris.
Long Ling felt the hope was slim. As Violet had said, she owed Violet a large debt. Back in the Arnold family, she had seen the IOU signed by the Elder Grandmother, which consisted of many, many pages of debt.
If she hadn’t been an Alpha, she might not have been chosen by Violet and would already be languishing in prison, unless gold coins fell from the sky or the Elder Grandmother discovered a gold mine.
Even if they had money, Violet was still a Duchess, and the third in line to the Fergus family inheritance, with immense power. Even going through the normal process to dissolve the agreement wouldn’t be easy.
Long Ling truly didn’t believe that the Elder Grandmother, at her age, would confront a Royal Duchess for an ordinary little dragon like her. After all, there were six other little dragons her age growing up in the clan, and although the others were Omegas, Alphas and Omegas had equal inheritance rights in this world.
The Arnold family had always had an Omega as the head of the family, so when they heard that selling her to Duchess Violet could clear the debt, all the dragons unanimously agreed. They only told her to be careful in serving Her Grace the Duchess.
Long Ling sighed just thinking about it. Over the past few months, Violet would spend every weekend accompanying her, except when she was busy with political affairs in Grace Harbor.
Even though she and Violet were in a cold war, she still had to sleep with Violet at night, though she wouldn’t willingly share a bed with her.
