Let Me Go, My Childhood Sweetheart [Rebirth] - Chapter 31
A drunk Jin Yi was entirely different from her usual self.
Usually, her most common phrases were “whatever” or “fine by me.” Her tone was always calm, and she rarely seemed to care deeply about anything. But now, she was clinging softly to Chu Weiran, her chin resting on the older girl’s shoulder. The heat of her breath felt as if it were melting Chu Weiran’s resolve.
Most importantly, she was saying the most shameless things.
“If you have needs… I can help.”
Chu Weiran’s face flushed slightly as she thought of what she had done the previous night before sleeping. She had thought Jin Yi was asleep then. That was why she…
“You’re always swaying around in front of me… I can’t handle it either.”
Chu Weiran’s body trembled slightly. She hadn’t done it on purpose, but since… Jin Yi offered to help…
“I need help right now.”
Jin Yi suddenly lifted her head, her eyes bright and sparkling as she asked, “Really?”
The desire in her eyes was crystal clear. Chu Weiran instinctively nodded, but before she could say a word, Jin Yi buried her face back into the crook of her neck. Her voice was muffled and slurred, her warm breath making Chu Weiran’s ears burn.
“You’re so soft there. I really want to touch.”
If not for the alcohol, Chu Weiran never would have imagined Jin Yi speaking to her this way. Her heart turned to mush. Stroking Jin Yi’s hair, she whispered, “You can touch. Only you.”
“Really?”
“Really.”
Jin Yi laughed foolishly, her smile widening until her lips brushed against the sensitive skin of Chu Weiran’s neck. Chu Weiran shuddered, her own voice turning weak. “Xiao Yi…”
“Let’s go home first, okay?”
“Why?” Jin Yi looked at her with wide, innocent eyes, blinking slowly.
“My legs are weak…” If Jin Yi weren’t holding her up right now, she truly might not be able to stand.
“Oh.” Jin Yi seemed completely oblivious to the cause. She asked again, clingily, “Is it for real?”
Chu Weiran had to answer with all the patience she could muster. “It’s real.”
“Oh. Then can I do it now?”
…
Chu Weiran bit her lip, her good temper nearly exhausted. She gave a little pinch to the soft skin at Jin Yi’s waist. “Can we go home before you start touching? Please?”
In her drunken state, Jin Yi’s reactions were slow. She only felt the pain a moment after Chu Weiran finished speaking. She scrunched up her face in a piteous pout. “Fine, we’ll go home. Why do you have to be so mean?”
“I hate you.”
Looking at that bare, clean, beautiful face, Chu Weiran felt an itch in her heart. So cute. Xiao Yi is so cute.
She reached out and pinched Jin Yi’s cheek, causing the girl to frown even harder and swat her hand away. Chu Weiran pinched her again, adding a threat: “If you let me pinch you now, I’ll let you touch me when we get back.”
“Oh.” Jin Yi nodded obediently, her frown vanishing as she let Chu Weiran have her way.
Once she was satisfied, Chu Weiran took Jin Yi’s hand. “Come on, let’s go home.”
“Mm!”
So obedient, and so silly.
On the way back, Jin Yi insisted on sitting in the passenger seat. Chu Weiran couldn’t talk her out of it, so she gave in. Throughout the drive, Jin Yi did nothing but stare at Chu Weiran, acting perfectly well-behaved.
But the moment they stepped through the front door, that changed.
She hugged Chu Weiran tightly from behind, sliding her hands around her waist.
“Wait a second!” Chu Weiran hadn’t expected her to be this impatient. She was both excited and incredibly overwhelmed. She turned her head to give Jin Yi a quick peck on the corner of her mouth. “Let’s shower first, okay?”
“Mm…” Jin Yi looked reluctant, but eventually nodded. “Then I want a bath. We do it together.”
Chu Weiran felt quite helpless. She had worried for nothing; she wanted nothing more than to bathe with Jin Yi. “Fine. A bath. Together.”
A drunken Jin Yi had no sense of shyness. Seeing that Chu Weiran had agreed, she began to strip. She undressed as she walked toward the bathroom, while Chu Weiran followed behind, picking up her discarded clothes.
Tracksuit jacket, pants, bra, underwear.
By the time they reached the bathroom door, Jin Yi was completely bare. She was about to open the door when she realized something was wrong. She turned to Chu Weiran, frowning. “I’ve taken everything off. Why haven’t you?”
“I’ll do it inside.”
Hearing that, Jin Yi’s dissatisfaction vanished. She nodded with a smile, grabbed Chu Weiran’s hand, and dragged her into the bathroom. Then she lunged at her, trying to help her undress.
“Let me start the water first. Wait a moment.”
Scolded slightly, Jin Yi stood obediently, watching with wide eyes as Chu Weiran started the bath. Once the water was running, she clung to her again.
“Slow down, I can do it myself.” Jin Yi was being a bit too forceful, and Chu Weiran, unable to handle the intensity, gave her a gentle push.
When Chu Weiran had planned to seduce Jin Yi earlier, she didn’t think it would be this difficult. But now, with Jin Yi staring intently at her as she undressed, it was truly hard. Her hand rested on her zipper, unsure how to move.
Jin Yi’s eyes were urging her on. What have I gotten myself into?
She closed her eyes and pulled the zipper down. She couldn’t see Jin Yi and Jin Yi…
“Ranran, you’re so white.”
Boom. Chu Weiran felt her face explode into a blush that reached all the way down her neck. Drunken Jin Yi was surprisingly good at flirting.
“Wait for me… let me get my clothes off.” Chu Weiran’s throat felt dry, her voice taking on a different kind of sexiness. Hearing it, Jin Yi swallowed hard.
“Ranran is so beautiful!”
Chu Weiran closed her eyes and finished undressing. They stood before each other, completely exposed.
Because she had been busy with her own clothes, Chu Weiran hadn’t really looked at Jin Yi. Now that she saw the pale, graceful body before her, she froze. It was more embarrassing than her own nakedness.
“Can I start now?”
“What?”
“This…” Jin Yi’s hand grasped at the air, and she swallowed again. She felt aggrieved; her head was spinning and she had been waiting for Chu Weiran forever, but the older girl was so slow.
Chu Weiran bit her lip and whispered, “You can.”
“Yay!”
Drunken Jin Yi had no shame. She made Chu Weiran turn her back to her…
Chu Weiran bit her lip hard, suppressing any sound. A wave of heat rushed from her toes to the top of her head. She began to doubt herself. Was she spoiling Jin Yi too much?
An unnatural flush appeared on Jin Yi’s face. The drunker she got, the bolder her thoughts became—and the bolder her questions.
“Ranran, are you feeling unwell?”
“N-no…” Squeezing those words out through her teeth took every ounce of Chu Weiran’s strength. She felt weak and slumped into Jin Yi’s arms. This only made things more convenient for Jin Yi.
But Jin Yi suddenly pulled her hand away and gave her a gentle kiss on the cheek. “You’re tired. Let’s sleep.”
Chu Weiran was speechless. Did I start the bathwater for nothing?
“Shower first.”
“Oh. Scrub-a-dub-dub!”
Jin Yi gave a playful little hop. Her hair got in her eyes, and she brushed it away irritably, muttering, “My hair is so long. It’s longer than Chu Weiran’s.”
“I’m going to cut it short, otherwise Chu Weiran will tease me.”
With that, she hopped directly into the bathtub before Chu Weiran could even react. Chu Weiran didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. When she called her “Ranran,” she did things that made her face burn. When she called her “Chu Weiran,” she acted as cute as a child.
“Come in~”
Seeing Chu Weiran dazing off, Jin Yi became unhappy and pouted as she called her. Only when Chu Weiran joined her did she go quiet, before immediately clinging to her again.
She blinked and asked, “Where is the little bunny?”
“What?” Chu Weiran was caught off guard, not understanding.
“I mean my little bunny.” Jin Yi gestured with her hands and splashed some water. “You’re supposed to play with a little bunny when you take a bath.”
It was childish, yet adorable. Chu Weiran wondered if Jin Yi would remember any of this tomorrow. “There are no little bunnies here. Just be good and wash up, okay?”
“You’re lying!” Jin Yi put her hands on her hips, her cheeks puffed out.
Chu Weiran burst into laughter; Jin Yi hadn’t been this cute even as a child. She pinched Jin Yi’s cheek and stopped laughing before asking, “How am I lying?”
“There clearly is a little bunny.”
“Where?”
“You have one!” Jin Yi muttered unhappily, “You’re so stingy!”
…
“Stop playing and wash up!” Chu Weiran’s face was bright red as she forced Jin Yi to finish the bath.
Afterward, Chu Weiran tried to take Jin Yi back to her own room, but Jin Yi threw a tantrum on the way. “I want to sleep with you! I don’t want to be alone!”
“Why?”
“I’m afraid!”
This was clearly not something the usual Jin Yi would say. Chu Weiran pursed her lips and asked, “Are you serious?”
“Of course! I’m sleeping with you. To your room.”
Now it was Jin Yi dragging Chu Weiran by the hand toward her bedroom. Once inside, she threw Chu Weiran onto the bed and immediately pinned her down. She clung to her like an octopus.
Chu Weiran found it hard to breathe under Jin Yi’s weight, yet she couldn’t bring herself to push her off. She loved the feeling of their skin touching far too much.
Jin Yi nuzzled her face and asked dizzily, “Are you Chu Weiran?”
“Mm…”
After the bath, Jin Yi seemed slightly more sober, but not completely. One moment she felt like a child, the next she felt like she was back in her past life. Her mind was filled with the image of Chu Weiran lying in her arms. She blurted out, “You can’t be with Ye Yuan.”
Chu Weiran had always known Jin Yi had a clear goal, but she didn’t know the reason. Hearing her bring it up again, she decided to finally find out.
“Why?”
“Because Ye Yuan is not a good person. You can’t be with him.”
Chu Weiran knew that part, but she was curious how Jin Yi knew. Currently, everyone knew about Ye Yuan and Qin Chaomu, but back when Jin Yi first warned her, those two hadn’t been exposed yet.
“Then why didn’t you want me with him before? Our relationship wasn’t… that close.” For some reason, Chu Weiran found those words hard to say. Instead, she asked, “Do you want me to stay away from him because you like me?”
Jin Yi shrank into her arms and nuzzled her again, her brow furrowed in thought. Chu Weiran looked down at her and stayed silent. She thought to herself: If this little troublemaker dares to say yes, I’ll be with her. Tomorrow no, right now.
Jin Yi was thinking about the last words Chu Weiran had said to her in her past life. As if possessed, she whispered, “I am…”
“I like you.”
“But… I can’t like you.”
“Why?”
“Because… because I like you.”
The rest was unintelligible. Chu Weiran leaned down to listen, only to hear Jin Yi’s steady, even breathing.
She was fast asleep.
