Just Wanted a Flirtatious Fling - Chapter 6
On Saturday night at 7:30 PM, Xie Sui drove to the downstairs of Lin Yan’s apartment. He had specially driven a sports car one bought by his cheapskate father, which he usually found too ostentatious and had kept from driving. However, this crowd of people loved exactly this kind of good-for-looking-but-useless toy, so Xie Sui drove it out.
When Lin Yan pulled open the car door and sat inside, Xie Sui’s breath caught.
The boy wore a wine-red suit, underneath which was a black lace sheer shirt, the contours of his chest muscles faintly visible. His hair had been meticulously styled, and his eye makeup was exceptionally light yet just right to outline the shape of his eyes.
At this moment, Lin Yan looked entirely like a gift wrapped in luxurious packaging, waiting for someone to unwrap him.
Lin Yan leaned forward, rubbing his nose against Xie Sui’s: “How is it? Do I look good?”
“You look good,” Xie Sui said. “You will be the most dazzling one tonight.”
The Wushan Club was built halfway up the mountain, with a panoramic view of the city’s sparkling night scene outside the floor-to-ceiling windows. The party venue revealed luxury everywhere; the crystal chandeliers reflected a blurred, dreamy light, and the air was mixed with the scents of champagne, perfume, and a faint trace of other fragrances.
Lin Yan attracted a lot of gazes the moment he entered. Several young models surrounded him, praising his outfit in a subtle tone, while their eyes kept darting to Xie Sui on the side.
Xie Sui usually looked casual and untamed, but after putting on a suit, he still looked exceptionally presentable. Paired with those affectionate eyes, he was incredibly bewitching.
Lin Yan said proudly: “This is my boyfriend, Xie Sui.”
As Lin Yan introduced him, Xie Sui’s hand naturally looped around Lin Yan’s waist.
Even if they didn’t know what kind of sacred being Xie Sui was, humans were still visual creatures, and his temperament didn’t look like that of an ordinary person.
Several envious and jealous gazes were thrown toward Lin Yan.
The faces of the group put on smiles, and they began to tease Lin Yan, searching for topics of conversation.
Xie Sui responded to these pleasantries with ease, but while giving perfunctory replies, he spotted a familiar person.
Jin Huaiqian.
Sometimes Xie Sui actually wanted to marvel at the fate between himself and Jin Huaiqian.
Jin Huaiqian was leaning back on a black sofa. He was dressed in simple casual clothes, wore no glasses, and his hair was loosely combed back, revealing a full forehead. At this moment, he was slightly turning his head to listen to the person next to him speak.
And nestled in his arms was a woman.
Xie Sui recognized her—the newly rising starlet who had recently exploded in popularity due to a web drama, Yu Rui.
Yu Rui wore a silver slip dress, her long black hair making her skin look even fairer. At this moment, she was looking up and saying something to Jin Huaiqian, her lips almost pressed to his ear, her fingers touching his chest in a seemingly accidental or intentional way.
Jin Huaiqian’s expression was very flat. After listening to her finish, the corners of his lips hooked up slightly, and he reached out to smooth her hair.
Xie Sui raised an eyebrow; this scene before his eyes actually made his heart rate start to accelerate.
Noticing his distraction, Lin Yan followed his gaze.
“Is that… Jin Huaiqian? The son of the boss of the Jin Group. Why is he here?”
The Jin Group?
This was truly an unexpected pleasant surprise.
Xie Sui asked: “You know him?”
“Who in the circle doesn’t know him? Word has it he invested in several major productions; he was the main financier for Yu Rui’s web drama that exploded,” Lin Yan lowered his voice. “I’ve heard everyone say that the reason Yu Rui can have her current resources is all due to Jin Huaiqian.”
Xie Sui drank the champagne in his hand in one gulp.
He did not hide his gaze. His look was so fiery that it successfully caused Jin Huaiqian to notice and look over toward him.
Xie Sui blew him a kiss.
Subsequently, he held Lin Yan’s slender waist, accompanying him to socialize in the venue, and met the competitor Lin Yan had mentioned.
The other party actively initiated the greeting.
“Lin Yan, who is this?”
Xie Sui extended his hand: “Hello, Lin Yan’s boyfriend, Xie Sui.”
The other party returned the handshake: “Chu Ye.”
Xie Sui let go after a brief shake; he had no interest in this kind of person who was flat in both the front and back. On the contrary, Lin Yan acted as if facing a formidable enemy, exchanging a few perfunctory words before pulling Xie Sui away.
Xie Sui touched his face: “What’s wrong? Your mouth is drooping.”
Lin Yan said angrily: “He looked straight at you; he definitely has bad intentions.”
Xie Sui smiled and said: “Don’t worry, I have no interest in him.”
Saying that, his gaze slid down ambiguously, his hand gently tugging open Lin Yan’s jacket as he spoke with suggestive meaning: “He can’t compare to even one-ten-thousandth of you.”
Lin Yan’s face flushed red: “I’ll let you see tonight.”
Xie Sui looked in Jin Huaiqian’s direction, just happening to collide with Jin Huaiqian’s gaze. Yu Rui was currently putting a grape to his lips.
Xie Sui lowered his head to ask: “Are you tired? Do you want to rest for a bit?”
Lin Yan nodded.
Xie Sui led Lin Yan to a sofa on one side, which happened to be diagonally opposite to Jin Huaiqian.
Throughout the entire process, Jin Huaiqian’s gaze remained fixed on the two of them.
Xie Sui politely returned a smile, reaching out to ask the waiter for a glass of alcohol.
Lin Yan said: “Brother Xie Sui, I want one too.”
Just as Xie Sui was about to call the waiter, the words reached his lips but were swallowed back down.
“Come, let me feed you.”
He pressed the glass to Lin Yan’s lips. After Lin Yan drank a few sips, he stopped, with a bit of alcohol stain remaining near his mouth.
Xie Sui reached out to gently wipe it away, his gaze sweeping carelessly toward Jin Huaiqian.
Right at this moment, the music rang out.
The cake was pushed up along with the music, and the male lead, Chu Ye, began to cut the cake.
The crowd began to cheer and hollowly join in to show support.
Xie Sui had never liked this kind of scene; a bunch of people gathering together was either to show off or to compare.
When the cake was distributed over, Xie Sui looked at the heap of cream, unable to muster much of an appetite, and thus gave it to Lin Yan.
After eating the cake, Lin Yan was pulled away by several friends to take photos.
Having gotten some free time, Xie Sui came out to the terrace to get some fresh air and smoke.
The night wind was very cool, blowing away the dry heat of the indoor venue. Xie Sui lit a cigarette, and subsequently, footsteps sounded behind him.
“Borrow a light.”
It was Jin Huaiqian’s voice.
Xie Sui turned around, hooking his finger.
Jin Huaiqian bent down to approach. Xie Sui leaned against the railing, tilting his head slightly. Cigarette against cigarette, the spark flickered for a moment, and it was lit.
The two stood side-by-side along the railing, smoking silently. The city lights at the foot of the mountain looked like an inverted starry sky.
“You seem to be very popular,” Jin Huaiqian spoke first, his tone carrying no discernable emotion.
“You’re not bad yourself,” Xie Sui smiled back.
Jin Huaiqian let out a light chuckle, the exhaled smoke dispersing into the night.
Xie Sui thought of something fun, saying with a laugh: “I’ve thought of an absolutely explosive topic, do you want to hear it?”
“What?”
“Shocking news! The boss of Yiyuan Capital is actually the crown prince of the Jin Group. If this article is published, do you think our traffic will explode?”
Jin Huaiqian was not surprised at all by Xie Sui knowing his identity, as if he had already anticipated it.
He exhaled a breath of smoke, replying with a question instead of an answer: “What do you think?”
Xie Sui shrugged his shoulders: “How boring. Of course it won’t explode; before it even detonates, the fuse will have been cut by you.”
Jin Huaiqian laughed. When he laughed from the bottom of his heart, he possessed a unique, mature flavor. Xie Sui felt his own heart beating very fast; he was seduced by the beauty, unable to resist reaching out to touch the corner of his mouth.
To his surprise, Jin Huaiqian tilted his head to dodge it.
