Just Wanted a Flirtatious Fling - Chapter 5
The gaze behind Jin Huaiqian’s lenses flickered slightly: “Mr. Xie’s question seems a bit like using public office for private gain?”
Xie Sui looked back at him: “This is merely a routine question; every interviewee gets asked this.”
Jin Huaiqian crossed his legs, locked eyes with Xie Sui for a moment, and faintly spat out: “Thirty years old.”
Xie Sui raised an eyebrow, revealing a meaningful expression.
An old man.
“Second question. The name Yiyuan Capital has a very artistic conception. Could you share its origin?”
Jin Huaiqian leaned back slightly, resting his interlaced hands on his knees.
“Choosing this name is mainly because of the character meanings. Yi means to play chess or contend, and yuan means foresight. I believe investing is like playing a game of chess; one must not only see the current situation clearly but also have insight into the final outcome. We hope to be strategic layout-makers with a long-term vision, rather than just short-term arbitrageurs.”
Jin Huaiqian’s voice was steady as he spoke with eloquence.
Yet at this moment, what Xie Sui was thinking about in his heart was how raspy and sexy that voice had been when whispering in his ear that night.
Xie Sui smiled, the tip of his pen lightly tapping on the paper: “A very profound interpretation. Then, in your view, what is the most important trait for an excellent investor?”
Jin Huaiqian: “I believe it is judgment the ability to make correct decisions in a state of incomplete information. Besides that, perhaps a bit of intuition is also required.”
While Jin Huaiqian was answering, Xie Sui suddenly extended his right foot forward.
Beneath the table, his leather shoe lightly brushed against Jin Huaiqian’s calf.
“Intuition,” Xie Sui repeated the word, completely solemn and serious. “Then may I ask, comparing rationality with intuition, which one carries a heavier weight?”
“It depends on the situation,” Jin Huaiqian said concisely, looking at him fixedly.
This uncle really knows how to put on an act.
Xie Sui did not retract his foot; instead, it slid slowly upward along Jin Huaiqian’s calf, finally stopping at the inner side of his thigh, rubbing against it repeatedly.
“I heard that Yiyuan recently led the Series B financing for Muzhi Technology.” Xie Sui flipped a page in his notebook. “Could you talk about the thinking behind this investment?”
Jin Huaiqian: “Muzhi’s team has breakthrough technology in dynamic scene recognition. We are willing to provide support to any company with potential.”
Jin Huaiqian stopped there, not expanding further on the narrative.
The tip of Xie Sui’s foot began to draw light circles, spinning around the inner side of Jin Huaiqian’s thigh.
Xie Sui noticed Jin Huaiqian’s tensed jawline. He smiled slightly, his eyes entirely full of provocation.
Jin Huaiqian’s gaze was deep and unsearchable. “Mr. Xie seems to know the investment industry very well; you must have done many related interviews.”
“I’ve just looked over some materials,” Xie Sui smiled. “But what I am more interested in is the decision-maker himself. No matter how exquisite an investment philosophy is, in the end, it is a human choice.”
Jin Huaiqian’s Adam’s apple slid in a micro, barely perceptible movement.
Xie Sui stared at him for a few seconds. Seeming to have played enough, he pulled his foot back and sat upright back in his original seat, as if absolutely nothing had happened.
“Last question, President Jin.” Xie Sui closed his notebook. “In this era full of uncertainty, what do you think is the core essence that a person—whether an investor or an entrepreneur—should adhere to most?”
Jin Huaiqian fell silent for a moment: “Authenticity, probably. All calculations and disguises will ultimately and inevitably fail under the test of time. Only authentic choices can bring authentic returns.”
Xie Sui smiled: “A very splendid answer, President Jin. I think our readers will benefit immensely.”
He pressed the stop button on the voice recorder, and the interview officially concluded.
Jin Huaiqian stood up. “When will the interview content be published?”
“Next Monday.” Xie Sui also stood up. “I will send the draft to you for confirmation.”
“Looking forward to the results.”
The two looked at each other, their lines of sight intersecting.
This familiar yet strange atmosphere caused Zhou Zheng to feel bewildered.
Why does it feel a little weird between these two?
Xie Sui walked toward the doorway. Just as his hand gripped the doorknob, he suddenly turned his head: “Oh right, President Jin.”
“Hm?”
“You just mentioned authentic choices. If a person has one face in public and an entirely different one in private, does that count as authentic?”
Jin Huaiqian did not answer this question. Instead, he said to Zhou Zheng on the side: “Zhou Zheng, you go on down and get busy first.”
Zhou Zheng: “Alright.”
After Zhou Zheng walked out of the conference room, Xie Sui turned his head to look at Jin Huaiqian, a face full of confusion.
Jin Huaiqian lifted his leg and walked toward the door. With a sharp snap, the door closed right behind Xie Sui.
He stared into Xie Sui’s eyes and bent his waist, the distance between the two instantly closing in.
Snap, the lights went out.
“President Jin, what is the meaning of this?”
“Weren’t you playing very happily just now?”
“What just now?” Xie Sui played dumb.
“Then I’ll help you recall it,” Jin Huaiqian said in a deep voice.
The next second, what came straight at him was a passionate and highly aggressive kiss.
The first figure for the column was successfully secured, and it was none other than Jin Huaiqian, about whom there was not a single bit of data on the internet; the traffic could well be imagined.
Yiyuan Capital was very famous in the venture capital circle, enough to be called a wind vane. Yiyuan’s brilliance lay not in the quantity of its investment projects, but in its astonishing hit rate. Every single time, it was one step ahead of others, yet in the end, it always managed to make a killing.
The people in the office cheered and celebrated, praising Xie Sui nonstop.
The Operations Director was also very happy: “Although we can’t post photos, posting a short segment of audio is also fine.”
Zhao Shang snorted coldly: “Who knows if some kind of underhanded, unseen methods were used.”
The Operations Director frowned: “Zhao Shang, although you didn’t secure the interview, we saw your early efforts clearly and haven’t denied your contribution. Even though we don’t know why they agreed again, we can’t deny someone else’s results either by saying they used some kind of wicked or unorthodox methods.”
Zhao Shang moved his mouth, his face dark and gloomy, but he didn’t say anything more.
This couldn’t blame Zhao Shang for thinking too much either, because that fellow Jin Huaiqian had fiercely bitten a mark right on his collarbone. When Xie Sui came back and leaned down to grab something, it had been seen clearly by Zhao Shang.
Xie Sui smiled: “It’s fine, Director. It’s normal for young people to have a bit of a desire to win. I’ll transfer the audio to my colleague first.”
When Lin Yan called, Xie Sui had just finished editing the recording and transferred it to his colleague.
“Gege, are you free Saturday night?” Lin Yan’s gentle voice traveled through the earpiece.
Xie Sui asked: “What’s the matter, baby, miss me?”
Xie Sui counted the days; he hadn’t looked for this little model of his for two weeks already. Thinking of that young, tight physique and the performance in bed, his heart couldn’t help but begin to itch with anticipation.
“One of my… count him as a competitor, I guess, has a birthday party the day after tomorrow at the new club over by Wushan.” Lin Yan’s tone was soft and sweet as he began to act spoiled. “Can you accompany me? Help me hold up the fort.”
Xie Sui chuckled softly: “The model circle cares so much about putting on airs too?”
“This circle is more snobbish than you think,” Lin Yan complained. “He recently hooked up with a producer and is showing off everywhere. If I go by myself, I’ll definitely be looked down upon.”
Xie Sui coaxed: “Send me the address, baby. See you Saturday night.”
