It Seemed My Fiancé Hated Me, So I Distanced Myself—But for Some Reason, He Complained - Chapter 31
“Excellent, they all seem to suit Clarissa perfectly. You there, I’ll be waiting in the other room, so please help Clarissa change.”
“Understood, Your Highness Lucas.”
The conversation progressed without my input, leaving me behind. I watched the scene unfold with growing anxiety.
“Clarissa, I’ll be waiting over there.”
His Highness Lucas smiled at me before exiting the dressing room.
The moment he was gone, I found myself surrounded by three maids.
“Lady Clarissa! Let’s get you changed right away! Now, this way please!”
Following the maids’ instructions, I was dressed in various outfits, had my hair styled, and makeup applied. It felt like reliving that garden party all over again.
“Clarissa! It looks absolutely wonderful on you!”
After the maids finished adjusting my hair and dress, I emerged from the dressing room to be greeted by His Highness Lucas’s beaming smile.
This time, following the maids’ recommendation, I wore a light blue dress adorned with scattered gemstones at the chest. My hair was styled in a half-updo.
Even though I’d borrowed a dress once before for the garden party, wearing such a dazzling gown still made me feel uneasy.
“Clarissa. Since you’ve gone through the trouble of dressing up so beautifully, why don’t we take a walk through the royal castle in that outfit? I’ll show you around.”
“Y-yes. Well then, I’ll take you up on your kind offer.”
“You’ve all done well. You may withdraw now. I’ll be showing Clarissa around the castle.”
At His Highness’s words, the maids saw us off with bright smiles.
His Highness Lucas and I began walking through the royal castle together.
He showed me each room of the castle one by one.
Halls with numerous chandeliers, serene dining rooms, a solemn chapel, and then gardens of breathtaking beauty.
Everywhere was so overwhelmingly splendid that I felt completely awestruck throughout.
“Clarissa, next I’ll show you the terrace. The view is absolutely magnificent.”
After returning from the gardens, His Highness Lucas said with evident pride.
Just as I was about to respond “I’d love to,” a shrill voice echoed from down the hallway.
“Lord Lucas! So, this is where you’ve been!!”
Turning toward the voice, I saw a glamorous young lady standing there with a beaming smile. She had wavy reddish-brown hair and wore a red dress adorned with abundant lace.
I stood there dumbfounded, staring at her.
