- Chapter 12 - Forced to Marry the Prince 12
Yu Xianqing drank his tea in silence when, suddenly, his fingers paused.
“Qi Lin.” His voice suddenly sank. “You are trembling.”
Qi Lin snapped out of it and looked at Yu Xianqing in confusion: “Your Highness, it is you who are trembling.”
“No.” Yu Xianqing set down the tea and rose quickly. “The entire room is trembling.”
Right then, a turn of events occurred.
“Warning! Warning! Emergency power cut! Emergency power cut! Insufficient energy supply—insufficient energy supply—”
The alarm blared, and red light instantly illuminated the entire room. Qi Lin’s expression sharpened as he shielded Yu Xianqing, saying quickly: “Your Highness, do not move rashly. I will go get help immediately.”
Yu Xianqing looked out the window. “It’s too late.”
Qi Lin: “The soldiers on the starship will be here soon, do not worry.”
“They can’t come.” Yu Xianqing pointed at the window. Despite the situation, his expression remained as calm as water.
“Look, the scenery outside is changing, and the fuselage is shaking. This means our aircraft has detached from the starship and its energy connection has been cut.”
Qi Lin walked to the window to check the situation and found it to be exactly as Yu Xianqing said—their aircraft’s top cabin had been hooked by a small thrust starship, completely detaching it from the original Imperial starship and dragging it away.
“Where is Prince Zelan?” Qi Lin hurriedly pulled out his terminal, only to find the signal had also been severed.
“Zelan was invited to the capital of Valiran Planet this morning for military drills,” Yu Xianqing said. “They came prepared.”
Seeing Yu Xianqing’s calm face, a suspicion rose in Qi Lin’s heart. “Could their target be—”
“Noble Human Highness, welcome to Valiran Planet.”
A broadcast voice rang out from an unknown source in a cheerful tone.
“I am your most fanatical number one fan; you may call me Sri Lanka. With your Human Highness gracing us with your presence, it would be quite a breach of etiquette if I did not welcome you personally. Please forgive my somewhat presumptuous approach.”
Murderous intent erupted in Qi Lin’s eyes. “That name belongs to a star pirate in this remote star sector.”
Star pirates… I see.
Yu Xianqing did indeed know of such a character; in the original novel, he was one of the protagonist’s friends and helped him quite a bit.
These star pirates were essentially fond of killing and looting. Long before Yu Xianqing was married off, these bandits had set their sights on him.
He just hadn’t expected them to dare act at this moment.
The broadcast continued to play shamelessly.
“Human Highness, your beauty and poise truly make one’s heart yearn. God knows how many times I’ve shot a load over your photos! If I weren’t piloting the ship, I would truly want to fly over immediately to embrace you, kiss you, take off your cute little clothes, and brutally violate you…”
“Shut up!”
Qi Lin’s fur stood on end. The protective traits of a Border Collie emerged as his body partially beastized, his sharp claws viciously shredding that damn broadcasting machine.
Yu Xianqing’s expression didn’t change; he remained in a thoughtful state as if the person being insulted wasn’t him.
The annoying broadcast did not disappear, however. After the machine was shattered, it emitted a harsh and strange tone.
“Don’t be so quick to lose your temper. To obtain the Human Highness as a matter of course, we’ve prepared some other things.”
“…Not good.” Yu Xianqing suddenly turned around, picked up the black box, and stuffed it into his portable spatial bracelet. “They might blow up the aircraft.”
“What?” Qi Lin was incredulous.
The sound of prying came from outside the aircraft’s sealed hatch. The two turned to see several burly orcs of different skin tones wearing flight suits barging in.
As a doctor, Qi Lin was hard-pressed to resist. They quickly subdued him, forced Yu Xianqing into a complete flight suit, and were about to toss Qi Lin aside and kidnap Yu Xianqing.
“Wait.” Yu Xianqing struggled to hold onto the door frame. “Take my doctor with me, or I will certainly die.”
The several orcs looked at each other and, in the end, under the standoff, reluctantly forced a flight suit onto Qi Lin as well.
Ten seconds after they left, the small aircraft, along with everything inside, was destroyed by the starship with a loud “boom.”
“How could…” Qi Lin stared blankly at that cluster of dazzling sparks in the universe.
Yu Xianqing’s brow pressed down slightly.
Zelan was still training troops in the capital. Before long, he would receive the news—no, he very likely had already received it.
The grey universe was floating with dust and black mist, so dim it looked like countless overlapping nights. Those flickering nebulae looked like eyes embedded within.
Yu Xianqing looked out the window; through a layer of high-alloy glass, it was far less shocking and brilliant than what could be seen with the naked eye now.
An excitement and burst of inspiration completely inconsistent with the current scene arose, even making his steps a bit lighter.
His wrists were bound with handcuffs, connected to Qi Lin. The two were held captive, walking on a long sky bridge.
Yu Xianqing’s inadvertently quickened pace almost caused Qi Lin to trip: “Highness?”
Only then did Yu Xianqing remember the current situation. He turned back to Qi Lin and asked with concern: “Are you alright?”
Qi Lin shook his head with a complex look: “I’m fine.”
He was an orc from a prestigious family. Having followed his father since childhood, he had seen many things. Even being kidnapped didn’t fill him with as much terror as ordinary people; he was still relatively calm.
But a pampered human was different. Yu Xianqing’s health was already poor, yet not only did he force himself to stay calm, he also worked hard to save his life—Qi Lin truly didn’t know how to face him. For an adult male orc to be unable to protect the weak and instead be protected by the other was simply a disgrace.
“Are you okay? Is there anywhere you feel uncomfortable?”
“I’m fine,” Yu Xianqing replied softly, immediately followed by the star pirate beside him giving Qi Lin a vicious slap.
“Shut up!”
These star pirates lived life on the edge; their strength was naturally not small. Blood appeared at the corner of Qi Lin’s mouth, and his eyes had turned into vertical pupils as he let out a low growl at them, baring his canines.
“Slap!”
Another slap. Qi Lin immediately lifted his head, his eyes flashing with an extremely terrifying, fierce light. He had almost lost his reason and was about to tear apart this orc who dared to provoke his dignity at all costs!
“Qi Lin!” Yu Xianqing gave a light rebuke. “Do not cause trouble.”
The human’s gentle voice at this moment carried a trace of strange magic. To the ears of the canine orc, it was an undeniable command.
Qi Lin’s Border Collie ears flattened into an unwilling arc as he lowered his gaze.
The human was not only the patient he served but had also saved his life. Canine orcs were the most loyal of all races. Now, even if Yu Xianqing asked Qi Lin to go and die, he would do so without hesitation.
The journey was silent, except for the occasional crude jokes from the star pirates.
“No wonder that prince wanted to marry a human; he’s so fucking beautiful.”
“Once the boss is bored with him, can he give him to the brothers to play with for a couple of days?”
“Probably not. Looking at him, he probably wouldn’t survive three days in bed.”
“Hahaha…”
Having just spent a wild night with Zelan last night, dark red marks occasionally showed on Yu Xianqing’s neck and wrists, drawing even more unscrupulous gazes and verbal obscenities from those orcs.
Qi Lin almost jumped up to be beaten again, but Yu Xianqing remained silent from beginning to end, his gaze slowly scanning the Star Laser Swords hanging at their waists.
Supposedly, this was the best weapon for combat in the dark-matter-filled universe, capable of both firing lasers and providing close-range defense and offense.
The glowing stones embedded on them were said to be some kind of energy stones that could enhance the strength and power of the Star Sword. Blue energy stones were the most precious, and white ones were the lowest.
Yu Xianqing observed the universe; the blue nebulae, in his view, were the most beautiful.
But these small fry only had white stones on their Star Swords. Yu Xianqing quickly looked away.
Crossing the sky bridge, they brought Yu Xianqing and Qi Lin onto that starship, locking them in the aircraft at the very edge.
The hatch closed, and the strange environment was somewhat suffocating.
When they were being separated, Qi Lin struggled desperately: “Do not separate me from the Human Highness!”
His strength was momentarily so great that he almost overturned several burly star pirates restraining him. Just as those few were about to use some methods, the long-silent broadcast voice rang out.
“Hiss, the one from the Hierodorus family has gone mad, almost blowing up my fleet—hey, what are you doing?”
Hearing news of Zelan, Yu Xianqing seemed to light up with hope, lifting his eyes to look toward the sound source.
“Little beauty, expecting him to come save you? Your orc does indeed have some skill, but this place is full of our people. It’s impossible for a fleet as huge as his to drive in here. You’d better give up on that idea!”
Hearing this, Yu Xianqing seemed startled, pursing his lips as his face slowly turned pale. Seeing this pitiful look of his, the broadcast voice seemed even more delighted.
“So pitiful. They’re still camped outside the star system. By the time the pretty prince brings his group of uniformed subordinates over, you’ll have already been played to death by us.”
When Qi Lin was mentioned, the broadcast voice gave casual instructions.
“Lock him up with the human. When I come back later to favor the human, I can have a watchdog. Good doggy, at that time you can watch how your master screams!”
With a few laughs, the broadcast turned off again, and everyone walked away, leaving them in the narrow interior of the aircraft.
Qi Lin’s eyes were red with rage. Yu Xianqing curled up in the corner and didn’t move much. He was only wearing a white shirt with two buttons undone, and the material of the shirt was already wrinkled.
He didn’t have many other thoughts; only one realization popped into his mind.
Zelan is fine.
That’s good.
“Highness, are you afraid?” Qi Lin asked with concern.
“I’m not afraid.”
His tone carried its usual gentleness. In this situation, it could be said he was calm to a terrifying degree.
Qi Lin froze, subconsciously asking: “Why?”
Yu Xianqing lifted his head to look at him. His dense, long black hair covered most of his expression, leaving only his long eyelashes visible as they lightly fluttered. A faint and certain smile appeared in his calm black eyes.
“He will come.”
“Prince Zelan, I advise you not to struggle too much. The Human Highness is in our hands and is being taken care of very… sizzle sizzle—Warning, warning, the machine has been scrapped—”
The transmission robot emitted the sound of damaged current. Zelan withdrew his beastized claws with a face full of frost.
This was already the third transmission robot he had smashed.
An orc who had lost his companion in his own territory was irritable to the extreme, wanting nothing more than to hack the star pirates who stole the human to death with a chaos of swords.
“Commander, calm down!” Albert followed his fast footsteps in a panic, holding analysis materials.
“The Human Highness’s terminal health data is connected to our database. The data is normal; he has indeed not suffered any harm yet. Please remain calm first. That star sector is the star pirates’ territory; our army cannot get in there for a while—”
“Calm down?” Zelan stopped abruptly. “If anything happens to Yu Xianqing, I want them all buried with him!”
“I know, I know.” Albert was breaking out in a cold sweat. “Right now we have to arrange an army raid; you must be there to command.”
“Albert.” Zelan suddenly asked, “Do I look like the kind of orc that is easy to bully?”
“No, no.” Albert’s cold sweat was pouring; he was practically drenched. “It’s just these star pirates who are too ignorant of what’s good for them.”
Zelan nodded expressionlessly, his hand on the Star Sword at his waist, his gaze fierce as he gave an order.
“You command. The whole army doesn’t need to enter; just use artillery to open a gap in the atmosphere.”
Albert was shocked: “You are—”
“Give me an elite squad of fifty people.”
Zelan slowly drew his sharp longsword, the smooth blade reflecting a frigid face.
“Sign a life-and-death waiver and come with me to save the Imperial Consort.”
“You can’t! Highness, to be safe, we should break through as quickly as possible. Your safety is the most important!”
Zelan turned to look at the adjutant who had followed him for years. His expression and tone became extremely alien to Albert.
“Listen well. Safety or no safety, I don’t give a damn.”
The longsword suddenly unsheathed, cold and sharp, so piercing that Albert couldn’t help but take a step back.
“Even if I die today, I will personally slaughter them.”
Yu Xianqing had been locked up for nearly two days. During this time, they were moved from the aircraft to a small planet, arriving on land from space.
This small planet seemed relatively backward, lacking the high technology and civilization of the Imperial Capital. Yu Xianqing inadvertently caught a glimpse of the people here still using horse-drawn carriages for transport.
Upon seeing the star pirates, the group of ragged residents bowed their heads in fear, automatically making a path for them.
…It seemed this was a planet controlled by the star pirates.
They were taken to a high tower. Someone brought water and nutrient solutions, but neither Yu Xianqing nor Qi Lin drank them.
The star pirate leader called Sri Lanka finally made an appearance on the third day.
He had a ring of short stubble, very masculine, and his features revealed a sort of wicked handsomeness. Those excessively shrewd eyes fixed on Yu Xianqing, scanning him once before he laughed with satisfaction.
“Not bad, not bad. Truly a beauty in ten thousand.”
“…” Yu Xianqing sat on the bed, inconspicuously scanning the man’s waist.
Sri Lanka carried a light gun, its head embedded with an extremely beautiful blue energy stone.
A light gun was an absolute killing machine in close combat within ten meters.
“What, eyeing my baby already?” Sri Lanka touched his crotch suggestively. Yu Xianqing silently moved his gaze away, only to hear Sri Lanka say with great interest:
“I’ll let you see tonight which of us, me or the prince, is more powerful.”
The beauty didn’t speak, but Sri Lanka wasn’t annoyed.
“Tonight, will you take the initiative to wash yourself clean, or should I help you… take a mandarin duck bath?”
“No need. I’ll do it myself.”
Qi Lin, who was gagged and tied in the corner, began to struggle madly and hit his head against the wall.
“Quiet.”
Yu Xianqing gave a faint instruction, and Qi Lin stopped unwillingly, his mouth and nose huffing.
A warrior can be killed but not insulted. If this damn star pirate really came tonight, Qi Lin would protect the human even if it meant his death.
Yu Xianqing entered the bathroom. A set of cream-white clothes had been placed there—thin and soft, exposing quite a bit of what should and shouldn’t be exposed.
Feeling the discomfort of being watched, he looked up and found at least five cameras placed in the bathroom for a 360-degree view.
“…” Psycho.
“System, help me block all the cameras.”
“Understood.”
As soon as the words fell, that sense of discomfort disappeared instantly.
Yu Xianqing stepped into the bathtub and washed himself simply.
Only when putting on that set of clothes did he rarely hesitate.
“Can you guarantee I won’t be touched by others?” Yu Xianqing asked.
“Messenger, please rest assured. Since it is a special situation, we have prepared several self-defense tools.”
“For example?”
System: “For example, an atomic bomb.”
Yu Xianqing: “…”
Possible, but not necessary.
“Anything else?”
Finally, through threats and promises, Yu Xianqing got a dagger as thin as a cicada’s wing from the system, hiding it close to his heart.
He was already prepared. If it really didn’t work, he would fake his death.
Hopefully, this star pirate would have no interest in a dead person.
When he walked out of the bathroom wearing the white gauze clothing, Sri Lanka’s eyes noticeably brightened.
The star pirate took three steps in two to come up and try to pull him into his arms, but Yu Xianqing dodged him.
“Beauty, you’re already washed, and you’re still playing games with me?” The star pirate laughed, his lower half already shamelessly hard. Yu Xianqing frowned slightly and glanced at him, but who knew this glance would only make the star pirate harder.
Motherf*cker.
Pervert.
Yu Xianqing’s body was flexible. When Sri Lanka lunged, he could always dodge nimbly. The other party intended to play games with him, but before long, he lunged again while huffing.
“Beauty, stop playing…”
The star pirate soon lost interest in the game and grabbed Yu Xianqing, pinning his hands. Just as he was about to kiss him, his subordinate’s panicked voice suddenly came from outside the door.
“Boss! Boss! The outer defenses have been breached!”
“What?!” The star pirate immediately straightened up, kicked open the door, and grabbed the reporting soldier by the collar. “What the hell are you doing? I went through so much trouble to shake them off yesterday! How did such a huge fleet get in?!”
“I-I don’t know!” The soldier trembled in fear. “They said a gap was opened outside, it seems the prince himself rushed in with fifty people…”
“Fifty people?” The star pirate roared. “What is there to fear about fifty people?”
The soldier’s legs were so weak he was about to kneel. “But… but they… they said…”
Before he could finish, the low sound of hoofbeats came through the vibration of the ground.
The star pirate’s face changed. “Is their army coming over?”
The soldier didn’t know either and looked bewildered before being tossed aside.
Yu Xianqing went to the window of the tower, bracing his hands against the wall and looking down.
There were many fully armed star pirates guarding near the tower, but now they were gathered together as if facing a great enemy.
He looked into the distance. On that road stretching to the end of his vision, dust suddenly flew up.
“Clatter, clatter, clatter—”
Clear hoofbeats suddenly arrived. Yu Xianqing braced himself on the windowsill and looked with effort. In a blur of sand and dust, he saw that familiar figure.
—It was Zelan.
The black steed’s mane flew, and its hooves kicked up countless clouds of dust. Zelan held a longsword, his hand rising and falling as he cleanly sliced off the heads of the star pirates blocking his way.
His silver curls were stained into clumps by blood, his deep face was covered in bloodstains, and his expression was a ferocity never seen before.
Behind him, as he rode like the wind, countless headless corpses were already piled up.
…Had he been rushing and killing all the way?
Yu Xianqing’s heart suddenly thudded heavily, his gaze uncontrollably following that figure.
Zelan seemed to have a premonition and looked up while on the horse.
Though it was quite ill-timed, Yu Xianqing suddenly felt.
He looked like a dirty little bun with blue eyes.
