In this Second Chance at Life, where I can see skills as clear as day, everything feels like a breeze. And to make it even better, I’m spending my days joyfully with my First Love. - Chapter 63
It has been a year since the creation of our continent and the establishment of the Kingdom of Yasushi Sashima, where I reign as king and Ichika serves as the princess.
The name Kingdom of Yasushi Sashima admittedly sounds a bit lame, but according to Koumei, “The name Yasushi Sashima is known worldwide, and in terms of brand recognition, this is the most efficient choice.”
Since I had entrusted Koumei with the management of the country, I reluctantly agreed.
As of now, the Kingdom of Yasushi Sashima has been officially recognized by 190 countries.
Initially, nations like the United States claimed that the land in the middle of the Pacific Ocean was theirs. However, thanks to Koumei’s negotiations, almost all countries ended up recognizing our sovereignty.
Apparently, when Koumei mentioned, “If you have objections, the king himself will visit your country next,” no one dared to continue opposing us. …Isn’t that technically a threat?
Regardless, with global recognition secured, the Kingdom of Yasushi Sashima has grown to a population of over 10 million.
I don’t leave the house often, so I rarely see the population myself, but I’ve heard that 90% of the residents hold occupations other than “Villager,” and even those labeled as Villagers often possess unique skills.
The nation is incredibly diverse in terms of ethnicity, language, and culture. Many of its citizens are people from around the world who fled persecution due to their occupations or skills. It’s an inevitable outcome of our country’s inclusiveness.
However, this diversity also leads to frequent disputes. To address this, Koumei asked me to deliver royal speeches about once every three months.
The content of my speeches is simple: “Let’s all get along.” However, their true purpose is to intimidate the population, using my presence as a unifying symbol to keep the nation cohesive despite its diversity.
While I know Koumei has his hands full managing everything, I don’t feel too guilty about it. After all, when I last saw him, he was surrounded by about eight women. It seems there are some perks to his position.
The residents of the Kingdom of Yasushi Sashima now boast an average level well over 100, with some of the earliest settlers, such as members of The Stars of Adoration, reaching the maximum level cap of 999.
This is likely due to the Golden Fairy Papillons I’ve placed throughout the continent.
With such high levels and formidable collective strength, the nation’s primary industry revolves around dungeon resources.
Recently, the demand for mana stones as a replacement for nuclear and thermal energy has skyrocketed, leading to a surge in adventurers and advanced equipment.
In terms of mana stone and monster material production, our country surpasses the second-ranked United States by a factor of 100, cementing our position as the global leader in this field.
The next major industry we’ve focused on is agriculture.
With our vast lands and the dense mana overflowing from dungeons, crops grow stronger and faster here.
Additionally, farmers with agricultural professions and those with skills to enhance soil quality have helped propel our agricultural exports to the fifth-largest in the world.
On the other hand, we still rely on imports for electronic devices, machinery, and automobiles due to a shortage of skilled engineers. However, this reliance on imports has eased trade friction, so it’s not entirely a bad thing.
Besides, with infinite energy and countless level-100 adventurers, it’s unlikely any nation would dare declare war on us.
As for me, I’ve been working on improving and increasing the number of mechanical killing dolls, doing strength training, and occasionally intimidating the population.
I also installed teleportation magic circles connecting the lowest floor of Kanahebi’s dungeon to my parents’ and Ichika’s parents’ homes, ensuring they could move here anytime if necessary.
But mostly, I’ve been spending my time affectionately with Ichika.
Since moving to this kingdom, I naturally dropped out of the vocational school, which left me with an abundance of free time. With no obligations and almost every day feeling like a holiday, I found myself running out of things to do.
Ichika takes care of all the housework in an instant with her magic.
Although I see my grandparents, who live next door, about once every three days, they often use the teleportation circles to visit Japan or go on outings, so we’re not always together.
With nothing else to do, spending time with Ichika has become my primary focus.
There’s a saying that children in the countryside tend to be more inclined toward intimacy because there’s nothing else to do for entertainment. I now understand where that theory comes from.
When humans have both idle time and excess energy, and there’s a beloved partner nearby, it’s natural to spend most of that time engaging in intimacy.
Recently, we’ve even started to adopt the mindset of “If we have a child, we’ll figure it out.” We’ve stopped using contraception altogether.
Ichika and I have repeatedly exchanged words like “We’ll always be together” and “I’ll stay by your side forever.”
Still, I’m starting to think it might be time to propose to her properly.
I’ve been holding back because of Japan’s laws, waiting until I turn 18.
Now, in April 2012, I’m just shy of my 18th birthday. I would’ve just started my third year of high school in a normal life. But five years of living together have passed without a single issue.
Maybe it’s time to take the next step and finally get married.
If I’m going to propose, I want it to be unforgettable—something truly remarkable.
Over the past year, as our kingdom has grown, so has my strength. Even though defeating Golden Fairy Papillons no longer increases my level, my level has now risen to 74, and Ichika’s to 37.
While my strength is no longer something that can be fully represented by stats, I can confidently say that I’m at least 10,000 times stronger than I was a year ago when I fought Poseidon.
I’ve also significantly expanded our arsenal. The number of Yasushi and Ichika’s Killing Dolls Vol.2, now harder, more durable, and infused with greater mana, has grown to one million units.
My ability to create clones has also evolved. What was once capped at 1,000 clones has now increased to 100,000, with each of the original 1,000 clones capable of producing an additional 1,000 clones.
And then there’s Ichika, smiling softly in my arms.
This time, when I challenge the Supreme God, she’ll be by my side.
Ichika has her own reasons to resent the Supreme God, and she’s determined not to let me face danger alone.
The last time, I was able to fight with peace of mind knowing that Ichika, the person I trust most, was protecting my family. But now, there’s no Stampede to worry about, and with one million Killing Dolls Vol.2 stationed throughout the kingdom, I can confidently leave everything in their care.
Both mentally and logistically, I feel ready.
I’ve made up my mind: I’ll get my revenge on the Supreme God, land a solid punch, and afterward—I’ll propose to Ichika.
It sounds like the perfect setup for a death flag.
But no matter what kind of fate tries to stand in my way, I know that as long as Ichika is with me, we’ll turn it around.
That’s the unwavering confidence she gives me.
“Tomorrow, I’ll challenge the Supreme God.”
“Okay,” Ichika replied without hesitation, her voice filled with trust and determination.
And, of course, before that, we couldn’t resist spending one more loving night together. That much goes without saying.
