In A World Full of Silence, My Heart Will Find Its Way To You - Chapter 69
“Please stop. We agreed not to do this anymore.”
“When did I ever agree?”
“You promised you’d wait for me last time. You said it was okay even if I was slow.”
“I said I’d wait. But I never said I’d hold back.”
“What are you saying…?”
It sounded like a play on words, but Eric’s gaze had grown even more intense.
Aria froze under his stare, her mind going completely blank. Facing him like this was overwhelming.
She bit her inner lip gently. How long could she endure? Against this man’s relentless pursuit?
In the brief silence that followed, only the sound of their shallow breathing lingered between them.
When Aria finally leaned back, trying to put distance between them, Eric wrapped his strong arms around her waist and pulled her close into his broad chest.
“I told you not to run from me.”
“I’m always the one asking for your help, but I can’t do anything for you in return. You deserve someone better—someone from a noble family. That’s why…”
“Use me as much as you want. I’ll gladly let you.”
“I know how hard you worked to build your status. You want to protect that too, don’t you?”
“Since when did I care about that kind of thing? So tell me the truth—what are you really thinking? Do you want to push me away? Do you want me gone?”
Aria couldn’t say a word. Her pupils trembled with hesitation.
Her heart, betraying her thoughts, continued to pound wildly in front of him.
His deep blue eyes, bathed in moonlight, were full of emotions. Just looking into those beautiful eyes made her chest ache.
She was afraid—afraid that marrying someone like her, a fallen noble, would stain his hard-earned reputation.
Afraid that getting closer out of selfishness would only lead to regret.
Lost in countless thoughts, Aria suddenly heard his voice.
“You’re confused again.”
Startled by his low, firm voice, she instinctively looked up. He stared at her with unreadable eyes, as if seeing through her completely.
That gaze felt like it could see straight into her soul, and Aria felt herself being drawn in.
Noticing her frozen expression, Eric’s lips curled slightly.
“I need you. Isn’t that enough? That’s why I can’t let you go.”
“So accept it. You’re never going to be able to leave me anyway.”
As his eyes darkened even more, Aria found herself unable to resist anything he did.
When his gaze flicked down to her lips, she shut her eyes tightly, overwhelmed by a familiar tension.
Without giving her a chance to think, Eric leaned in slowly. His lips gently met hers.
He moved carefully, restraining himself, trying to calm the growing storm inside.
But his grip around her waist only grew firmer.
Like fate—something inevitable that was bound to happen.
Only their breaths tangled in the air, sharp and drawn.
Eric’s eyes wandered back to her lips again, filled with yearning and temptation.
She reached out, trying to push him away to regain clarity, but it only seemed to stir something deeper in him.
Eric gently intertwined his fingers with hers and lowered her onto the bed.
He kissed her again—soft but firm—until her once-dry lips were warm and moist.
“Pl… please…”
Aria’s voice trembled without her realizing it. Eric leaned close, whispering softly in her ear as if savoring her reaction.
“Say you need me. Say you’ll never leave me. Then I’ll stop.”
He grinned slightly, drawing close to her delicate neck. A drop of water from his damp hair slid down, trailing along her skin.
His touch, though gentle, sent shivers through her. She told herself it was wrong. She needed to resist. But hesitation faded quickly as emotion and instinct overwhelmed her.
She tried to retreat from the unfamiliar feeling, but her body responded before her mind could catch up.
Even as she grew self-conscious of her fragile figure, Eric’s presence seemed to melt away all fear.
She felt trapped between desire and guilt—drawn to the one person who both saved and ruined her.
If only she could drown in him and let all the guilt and thirst fade.
Breathing heavily, she clutched at his shoulders. The pain was unfamiliar, yet she couldn’t push him away without falling deeper.
Tears welled up in her eyes as she tried to hold back a sound.
“I… I need you. So please…”
Eric kissed her again, repeatedly, gently but possessively.
He was burning up with desire, and she could feel it in every breath, every movement.
As they moved together, only one voice echoed in her mind—his.
“Do you want me to stop?”
It was his final question, but Aria couldn’t think anymore.
All she could see was Eric—drenched in sweat, his entire being focused on her.
“No… don’t stop…”
Smiling faintly, he pulled her close once more.
They breathed each other in, their connection deeper than words.
“Stop… please…”
The pleasure that washed over her was sharp, almost painful in its sweetness. She tried once more to resist—but failed.
Her vision blurred. Only feeling remained.
Her soft moans slipped through bitten lips, and tears rolled from her wide eyes.
Eric licked them gently, cherishing her like a precious jewel.
Held tightly in his arms, Aria finally closed her eyes.
And in that moment, she realized something.
Inside his embrace, she felt alive—renewed, and overwhelmed by a strange kind of happiness.
“You’re never going to leave me. Not even a step away.”
Just as he said, she couldn’t escape him—not even for a moment.
Uncaring and intense, he had completely taken over her world.
He had become everything to her. Late at night, darkness settled deeply over the land. The cloudy sky wrapped the Bailey estate in an unusually heavy gloom.
Count Dennis, dressed in comfortable clothes, sat on his bed reviewing documents under candlelight.
They were reports to be given to Eric about the mining operations in the Bailey territory—updates from the time he’d been away.
Trying to grasp the current situation, the Count felt a growing pressure as he laid out plans. Eric’s absence had left a noticeable gap.
After Edward’s wedding had ended so bitterly, Count Cecil’s interference in the business had only grown stronger.
Of course—it wasn’t easy for anyone to give up wealth and influence they once held.
Convincing Count Cecil, who was deeply tied with other nobles, would not be easy.
“That foolish boy…”
Even to the Count, Edward was a pitiful son. He could’ve turned a blind eye and passed the business down to him.
But in his heart, only Eric’s ambition remained vivid now.
Shaking his head to dismiss lingering doubts, a knock on the door suddenly pulled him out of his thoughts.
