- Imprisoned by Forced Love! The Yandere Disciple Tied My Hands and Told Me to Be Good
- Chapter 15 - As Long as It's Fed by Master, Everything is Sweet
The events Yue Qi spoke of were the experiences of the original host; Mu Chenyuan had no memory of them whatsoever. At most, he was just a scapegoat.
But this “blame” hadn’t been shifted for nothing. For several days now, he had been enjoying the high life: the great Demon Venerable himself dressed him, crowned him, brought him water, and cooked his meals. If it weren’t for that god-awful ending, Mu Chenyuan truly felt he wasn’t getting the short end of the stick. Being a canary locked in a cage was, after all, more comfortable than being locked in a cubicle at his old company.
Since Yue Qi had agreed to his request, one good turn deserved another. Mu Chenyuan sensibly picked up the other ring from Yue Qi’s palm, took his hand, and slid it onto his ring finger. He did so without hesitation or disgust, thinking simply this kid is actually quite pitiful.
July 7th, the Qixi Festival.
Although Crescent City was inhabited by the Spirit tribe, they were quite enthusiastic about celebrating human festivals. Early that morning, the streets were already adorned with lanterns and streamers. As promised, Yue Qi brought Mu Chenyuan down the mountain to celebrate in the city.
To avoid being recognized, Yue Qi cast an illusion. He transformed his appearance into a common spirit hound, complete with white dog ears. He then cast a spell on Mu Chenyuan to give him the look of a spirit cat.
The illusion was peculiar. In Mu Chenyuan’s eyes, Yue Qi’s face hadn’t changed—only his styling had. However, when others looked at Yue Qi, they saw someone completely different from what Mu Chenyuan saw. The same applied to himself.
Walking down the street, Mu Chenyuan pinched his soft black cat ears and looked at Yue Qi’s white dog ears. “Do you like cosplay?”
Yue Qi clearly didn’t understand the term, but he caught the general drift. “Crescent City is filled with the Spirit tribe; it’s best to follow local customs.”
“But you’re a Spirit tribe member yourself. Why would a fox cosplay as a dog?”
“My ears are gone.”
“I know that. My point is you’re a fox.”
Yue Qi paused before saying, “Master, I believe I told you before… my clansmen are all dead.”
“Oh… I see.” Mu Chenyuan chose to shut up immediately, not wanting to poke at old wounds. He recalled the System mentioning this before. Being ‘beautiful, powerful, and tragic’ is one thing, but being a ‘jinx’ to everyone around you is another. No wonder he had to turn into a dog; he was the last spirit fox left in the world.
After walking in silence for a while, Mu Chenyuan couldn’t help but ask, “Then why am I a cat? And a black cat at that?”
“The personality fits,” Yue Qi replied, leaving Mu Chenyuan utterly puzzled. My personality is like a cat’s?
The confused Mu Chenyuan was led by Yue Qi into a clothing store. It was still early, and the shop had just opened. Perhaps because of the festival, business was already booming. The shopkeeper had a deer’s head, which startled Mu Chenyuan for a moment before he realized that not all of the Spirit tribe had the ability to evolve fully into human forms. They were, fundamentally, a half-demon, half-human race.
In the shop, Yue Qi bought Mu Chenyuan a new outfit. It was black, and even the hair crown was made of black jade. It was a clear “couple’s outfit” paired with Yue Qi’s own clothes. Once Mu Chenyuan changed, his “ethereal immortal” aura vanished, replaced by the look of a young attendant from the Demon realm.
The two returned to the street. Wearing matching rings and couple’s outfits while wandering the shops, Mu Chenyuan felt as if he were truly on a date with a man. Wait, not ‘as if.’ I am!
As they roamed about, Mu Chenyuan felt a bit hungry. Just then, he caught a whiff of something sweet and fragrant. Following the scent, his eyes landed on a street vendor selling tanghulu (candied hawthorns).
Gulping, Mu Chenyuan thought: I’m an Immortal Venerable now; how can I be craving tanghulu? But then he remembered his childhood—walking past vendors and staring longingly with a mouth full of saliva, only to be chased away and insulted because he had no money. As a child, he wanted them but couldn’t afford them. As an adult, he had money but had forgotten his old desires in the rush to earn it.
Mu Chenyuan had only stared at the sweets for a second, but Yue Qi captured his expression instantly. Without a word, he stepped forward and bought a stick.
When he returned, Mu Chenyuan looked at him in confusion. “You like these too? Don’t you have no sense of taste?” The use of the word “too” was subtle, fully exposing his own secret craving.
Yue Qi didn’t plan to expose him. He simply gave a charming smile. “I want Master to feed me. As long as it’s fed by Master, everything is sweet.”
“Feed you?”
Yue Qi’s gaze landed on Mu Chenyuan’s lips. Mu Chenyuan understood instantly but gave a flat refusal: “Don’t even thin—mmph!”
Before he could finish his sentence, Yue Qi caught the topmost hawthorn ball between his lips and pressed them against Mu Chenyuan’s. Before Mu Chenyuan could protest, the syrup-coated hawthorn slid into his mouth!
So sweet—
After delivering the hawthorn, Yue Qi immediately pulled away. He said nothing and made no further move. Instead, it was Mu Chenyuan who, while chewing, glared angrily at the triumphant Yue Qi. He warned him: “The quota for kisses today is used up! You’re not allowed to”
Again, before he could finish, the second hawthorn ball was pushed in!
Mu Chenyuan: “…”
A single stick of tanghulu left Mu Chenyuan’s lips swollen for quite some time. He had endured at least seven or eight forced kisses. Consequently, after finishing the snack, Mu Chenyuan sulked and ignored Yue Qi, his face darker than a charred corpse.
In his heart, he made a silent vow: If I talk to you again, I’ll take your last name!
Yue Qi didn’t mind the cold shoulder. Instead, he asked calmly, “Does Master want to eat anything else?”
Mu Chenyuan replied without a second thought: “Yes!”
Yue Qi laughed silently and affectionately rubbed Mu Chenyuan’s fluffy cat ears. “What do you want to eat?”
Looking around, Mu Chenyuan pointed to a distant barbecue stall. “There.”
Yue Qi took his hand naturally and led him toward the stall.
“Hey, wait… let go of me…” Mu Chenyuan’s anger flared again at being led by the hand. Being kissed was one thing, but holding hands! Especially with so many people watching.
Even though no one was actually paying them any attention, Mu Chenyuan felt awkward. Yue Qi ignored his protests; the more he tried to pull away, the tighter Yue Qi held. Mu Chenyuan was being handled with ease.
In his mind, he started cursing again: I’ll &%#! you!
However, once they reached the stall and saw the sizzling, succulent meat skewers, Mu Chenyuan instantly threw his mental profanity to the wind. His eyes lit up, shining brighter than ten Ultramen.
Without asking a single question, Yue Qi bought several of each skewer he liked. Holding the fragrant meat, Mu Chenyuan’s mood improved significantly. His resolve broke in a second, the word “foodie” practically written across his face. He had already completely forgotten the vow he had just made.
