I'm a Professional at Being a Scumbag [Quick Wear] - Chapter 11
The sisters fell asleep in each other’s arms.
After all the commotion and the effects of the medication, Le Yi slept soundly, not even hearing her phone ring.
Chu Qiao, a light sleeper, woke at the slightest sound. When she saw Zhu Qiong’s name on the screen, her eyes sharpened. She took Le Yi’s phone and slipped out of bed.
Leaving the room, Chu Qiao answered the call.
Zhu Qiong’s voice was frantic: “Xiao Yi, where are you? Are you alright?”
She had noticed staff rushing toward their private room at the spa and realized something might be wrong.
When she arrived, Le Yi was nowhere to be found. Only a barely conscious man lay in the room, and a clueless attendant stood nearby.
The man looked like he was on the verge of death, nearly scaring the spa manager to death. The manager’s hands trembled as he called for an ambulance.
Zhu Qiong had searched everywhere for Le Yi but couldn’t find her. Her calls went unanswered, and she was on the verge of calling the police.
Chu Qiao found Zhu Qiong’s concern bitterly ironic.
Why didn’t you protect my sister back then? Who are you putting on this act for now?
“Best Actress Zhu, your acting skills are truly wasted without a Grand Slam award, but your performance won’t work on me. I’m not my sister, and I won’t fall for your act.”
Hearing Chu Qiao’s voice, Zhu Qiong fell silent for a moment.
She had always known Chu Qiao disliked her, which was why she rarely visited Le Yi’s home.
Though they usually maintained a veneer of civility despite their mutual antipathy, this was the first time Chu Qiao had spoken to her with such veiled hostility.
This made Zhu Qiong even more worried about Le Yi.
Suppressing her irritation, she asked in as calm a voice as she could manage, “Is your sister home? She’s not…?”
Chu Qiao’s eyes darkened, a cold light glinting in their depths.
This time, she had sensed something was wrong and followed her sister, arriving just in time to prevent serious consequences.
But if she had been even a few minutes later…
Chu Qiao’s heart clenched, as if a hand were squeezing her chest, making it hard to breathe.
She couldn’t bear to think about the possible outcomes.
If anyone had harmed her sister, she would have torn them to pieces.
When Zhu Qiong received no answer, her anxiety remained suspended. Just as she was about to ask again, Chu Qiao let out a cold scoff.
“Zhu Qiong, I know how you feel about my sister, but you’re not worthy of her. Stop hiding your dark intentions behind the guise of friendship. You don’t even have the courage to confess your feelings—what right do you have to claim you like her?”
Chu Qiao desperately wanted to ask why Zhu Qiong had left her sister alone in the VIP room, but after a moment’s thought, she decided against it.
Doesn’t she like Sister? Chu Qiao thought. Knowing what happened today won’t make her feel any better.
She would have to slowly process her own lingering fear and torment alone, while Chu Qiao could hold her sister and bask in inner peace.
Even if it was just a fleeting moment of warmth, she was willing to immerse herself in it.
Zhu Qiong stared at the disconnected call, her mind racing. The man’s gruesome state made her consider a disturbing possibility.
A chill ran down her spine. She switched off her phone and turned to find Xiao Qing.
If someone set a trap to harm Le Yi, what role did Xiao Qing play in it?
It could be a coincidence, but these coincidences were piling up.
Li Xianyun flew into a rage when he saw Zhao Wei’s mangled state.
He was a regular at the bathhouse and had collaborated with Zhao Wei on numerous similar schemes without incident. Who dared sabotage his plans?!
He grabbed the red-haired woman, his eyes burning with fury. “Who beat my brother like this?!”
The woman glanced at him, then burst into tears.
“I don’t know anything! I don’t know anything!” she repeated frantically, as if possessed. Frustrated by her lack of useful information, Li Xianyun shoved her aside and stormed off to find the manager.
The manager stood in the boss’s office, barely daring to breathe.
The man sat in his executive chair with his back turned, not uttering a word. The oppressive silence made the manager tremble even more.
Known for his ruthless methods, the boss had always been merciless. Now that the manager had made such a colossal blunder, would he be thrown into the river to feed the fish?
“Boss, this incident… it was mainly because… someone came to cause trouble. Otherwise, it wouldn’t have…”
“Otherwise, what wouldn’t have happened? Your dirty deeds wouldn’t have been exposed?” The man’s voice was cold and hard, radiating an inexplicable pressure. “Zhang Chao, you can’t possibly think I’m unaware of the things you’ve been doing on my territory, can you?”
Zhang Chao broke into a cold sweat, his knees buckling as he dropped to the floor.
“Boss, I’ll never dare to do it again! Please, give me one more chance!”
The executive chair swiveled, revealing the man’s sharp features and sinister gaze.
“One more chance?” Chu Ji sneered. “I’ve already given you countless chances.”
He tapped his fingers lightly twice on the desk. Two burly men in black suits entered and dragged Zhang Chao away.
Zhang Chao screamed like a dying man until one of the men stuffed a rag into his mouth.
The cleaning lady turned to see the empty plastic bucket and paused, puzzled.
Huh? Where’s my rag?
Chu Ji dealt with the men before remembering the look Chu Qiao had given him as she left. He pressed his temples, a headache brewing, and waved to his assistant waiting nearby.
“Give Chu Qiao all the surveillance footage we’ve collected on Li Xianyun. If she asks for anything else, cooperate fully.”
Tang Chen, the assistant, hesitated. “Should… should I go myself?”
“Of course! Do you think I’m going?”
“Alright,” Tang Chen replied, his face grim, as if facing certain death.
Let’s hope Miss Chu doesn’t make my end too gruesome.
Chu Qiao hadn’t slept all night, finally succumbing to exhaustion just before dawn.
Le Yi slept dreamlessly. When she woke, she felt only a slight fogginess in her head, nothing else amiss.
Fragmented memories surfaced. She sat up abruptly, pulling half the blanket off Chu Qiao.
Last night… a strange man tried to take advantage of me, and then…
And then what? Blackout. The memory cuts off.
“Sister,” Chu Qiao called softly.
She had woken the moment Le Yi yanked the blanket away. Watching Le Yi’s changing expression, she guessed her sister was reliving the previous night’s events and couldn’t help but interrupt.
It’s better to forget those unpleasant memories. I’ll bear the burden for you, Sister.
Le Yi turned to look at her. The girl’s skin was mostly bare, her neck and chest marked with a mix of fresh and faded kiss marks.
Suddenly, those sensual and intimate scenes flooded her mind.
Le Yi’s fingertips trembled slightly as she asked Chu Qiao, “Did I… again last night?”
Chu Qiao gave her a shy smile and wrapped her arms around Le Yi’s waist.
“Sister, don’t you remember? My waist still aches.”
Le Yi gripped the blanket tightly, inwardly cursing herself.
I can’t remember important things, but I never forget to do this kind of thing.
At first, she had reluctantly gone along with it due to her “scumbag gong” character. Now, she was becoming increasingly skilled, naturally falling into bed with Chu Qiao without needing any seduction.
I can’t keep sinking like this. The mission must come first.
Le Yi took a deep breath and tried to pry Chu Qiao’s arms away to get up, but Chu Qiao pressed her back down onto the bed.
“?”
Chu Qiao gazed down at her, her dark eyes filled with a tenderness that could drown her.
“Sister, stay with me a little longer.”
Her voice was so soft that Le Yi almost agreed.
“Qiaoqiao, it’s getting late. I need to make breakfast.”
She reached out to push Chu Qiao away, but the girl suddenly shifted, her hand landing perfectly on Le Yi’s rounded breast.
Le Yi froze, and Chu Qiao stiffened for a moment before letting out a soft, coquettish laugh and burying her face in Le Yi’s neck.
“Sister, what are you thinking about again? I’m still sore.”
With that, she pulled Le Yi’s hand downward…
Le Yi: That’s not what I meant at all!
