I'm a Major Villain with a Backer - Chapter 3
If one were to say Bu Liuliu’s consciousness had remained in a muddled state all along, the moment he realized he was being carried away from that giant crater, he could no longer remain calm.
He desperately wanted to speak, but for the time being, he was entirely unable to articulate any words.
Only his inner thoughts remained exceptionally active.
In moments like this, he didn’t even know what exhaustion meant.
Until…
“So noisy.” Within that clear, aristocratic voice, a hint of impatience rippled through.
So noisy? Who is so noisy?
Does this guy have something wrong with his head…
For no reason at all…
Truly problematic.
A spell technique struck Bu Liuliu’s body, or more precisely, landed straight across his mouth.
“Now you can say whatever you want directly, instead of continuing to inwardly malign this seat in your mind.” He certainly wasn’t afraid of death, eagerly courting it instead, and even willing to accept any wretched outcome.
Therefore, this fellow’s current situation was entirely voluntary on nobody’s part.
“Hoo… ah…” Bu Liuliu instinctively let out a sound, only to discover that his throat was bone-dry and painfully parched.
Big Hero, could you spare a drop of water to drink…
Bu Liuliu kept his mouth wide open, lying flat on his back as he silently voiced the plea.
Big Hero…
What else could this person possibly say?
Following that, the stranger raised a hand and flicked it lightly, sending a ray of light landing directly upon Bu Liuliu’s throat.
Bu Liuliu, whose throat had just been dry and agonizingly uncomfortable, instantly felt a wave of refreshing ease wash over him.
“That damn near suffocated me.” The moment these words escaped, it felt remarkably comforting.
“Thank you, Big Hero.” Although this person had hauled him away from the giant crater—and despite how dangerous and sharp-tongued the fellow was—business was business; the other party hadn’t grown so cold-blooded as to turn a blind eye and leave him to rot.
In truth, he had no idea that this male cultivator could indeed have turned a complete blind eye and remained entirely indifferent to human life. The only reason he intervened was entirely because Bu Liuliu’s current condition was exceptionally out of the ordinary.
Big Hero—let’s temporarily address him with this title!
“Who are you? How did you manage to find such a physical shell to house a stray soul?” A dead-to-the-world vessel, a soul-scattered vessel even someone willing to covet such a thing was a rare sight indeed.
“Big Hero, can I say I’m completely innocent here?” Ever since the other person’s earlier remarks, as a seasoned web-fiction addict, Bu Liuliu knew full well that the stranger possessed telepathic mind-reading abilities and could hear his inner thoughts clearly.
Recalling his previous internal monologues which the stranger must have heard crystal clear, considering how much he had vented and how the stranger already knew he was a fake—since things had reached this point, what more did he have to hide?
“What do you mean?” Could someone have orchestrated this deliberately?
Then what background could this soul possibly possess to have been framed in such a manner?
From the man’s perspective, for someone to fall into a physical shell like this was far more miserable than having one’s soul completely scattered.
“It was deliberately arranged by Lord Heaven! The moment I transmigrated over, I ended up like this.” As if he had finally found someone he could pour his heart out to without needing to keep up any pretenses, Bu Liuliu tossed all caution to the wind. He was already in this wretched state anyway; who on earth could possibly plot anything against him now?
“Transmigrated over?” Yet another novel term—what on earth did transmigrated over mean, and where from?
Although he had perceived that this soul did not belong to the original body, and had heard him mutter those bizarre thoughts earlier, realizing the soul possessed distinct peculiarities, the moment he attempted to probe deeper into the soul to explore its origins, he encountered a wall of dense fog. It was as though this person’s provenance was veiled by some mysterious force, rendering even him incapable of perceiving it.
Coupled with the fact that it had fused directly into this soul and triggered a state that even he found thorny and intractable, there was undoubtedly a problem an enormous problem.
“I’m telling you, I’m not from this world at all. Here’s how it happened you might find it hard to believe, but it’s the absolute truth…” Bu Liuliu had no reservations left.
He was just about to explain why he had appeared here and what kind of world this was… when he finished stating that he wasn’t from this world and prepared to elaborate on the specific details to the stranger… he discovered to his horror that… he couldn’t actually speak the words aloud.
“How is it?” Seeing Bu Liuliu simply leave his mouth agape yet unable to force out a single sound, the man knew instantly… something was amiss.
“Are you kidding me… I literally can’t say it out there…” Did the universe have to be this ruthless?
“It seems there is a heavenly taboo involved.” The man could tell that this soul had no reason to lie to him, and the moment the soul stated he was not from this world, he had sensed the emergence of a restrictive force belonging to the laws of heaven and earth.
If not from this world, which world was he from?
The Great Dao consists of three thousand paths—though three thousand merely served as a baseline number, just how many worlds truly existed was something no one could know. Even he could not guarantee that he had set foot within every single realm.
Given that reality, for a soul hailing from an entirely different world to surface right here…
“Then what should we do? Why don’t you just put me back and let me fend for myself and rot? As for your treasure, do whatever you want with it, I won’t have any objections anyway—anyway, I’m in this half-dead state right now.” Bu Liuliu promptly pitched his own proposal.
“You certainly know how to look on the bright side.” He genuinely knew how to let go, devoid of any pretense or falsehood.
“What else could I possibly do? I’ve already been scammed.” Did the man expect him to pick a physical fight with Lord Heaven?
He wouldn’t stand a ghost of a chance!!
“Yet this seat cannot simply put you back. To put it into words you might find hard to believe, this seat currently has half a life bound directly to your body, and the situation is immensely complicated. Until we find a workable solution, this seat will not allow you to come to harm, and will keep you by my side at all times. Because if something happens to you, this seat won’t fare well either. To put it accurately, you are currently this seat’s greatest weakness.” The man’s voice remained clear and aristocratic, casually laying bare his own tactical disadvantage just like that.
Much like Bu Liuliu, who hadn’t bothered to conceal anything, this was a display of absolute self-confidence—coupled with the sheer capability and strength to ensure Bu Liuliu remained entirely free from harm.
“What?!” Bu Liuliu let out a startled exclamation.
Could there really be a plot twist this absurd?
True to the hallmark of melodramatic web novels, even though the story had already reached its grand finale, the subsequent post-game plot was just as preposterous and happening right to him, making him feel as though the heavens were deliberately tormenting him.
What unforgivable sin had he committed to deserve such relentless torture?
