- Chapter 1 - The Story Has Already Ended, What the Hell Is the Point of Transmigrating Now?!
Azure skies, dense canopies of trees.
At the center of the sea of trees lay a massive crater approximately one hundred meters in diameter.
Bu Liuliu, who was currently lying flat and rigid right at the exact center of this giant crater, felt a mood that matched the crater itself: utterly inexpressible.
He had transmigrated, following this fashionable trend in the most unexpected way.
The problem was that he had no idea what had triggered this transmigration catalyst in the first place. Regardless, by the time his consciousness cleared up and he had no idea what was going on, he was already lying right here.
Moreover, his entire body was exuding a decaying odor that made him want to vomit. Even though this was his current physical shell, it didn’t prevent him from feeling thoroughly disgusted with himself.
Lying here, temporarily unable to move, Bu Liuliu began routinely absorbing the information left behind by the original owner of this body so he could figure out just where on earth he had transmigrated.
The more information he took in, the more Bu Liuliu wanted to bite his tongue and die all over again.
And Bu Liuliu actually tried to do just that. Through his own hard-fought efforts, he bit his tongue to commit suicide—since things had already reached this point, what else was there to struggle for?
If dying once more was what it took, he could handle it; after all, there couldn’t possibly be any situation worse than his current predicament.
Yet, after biting his tongue in an attempt to end it all, Bu Liuliu discovered that he hadn’t managed to die. When he opened his eyes once more, he was still in this very world. Given the circumstances, he felt he ought to pause and mourn for himself for a full minute.
Also… his tongue hurt terribly.
Given that he was in such a wretched state and yet still capable of experiencing pain, logically speaking, Bu Liuliu ought to have felt some gratitude. As the saying went: It’s better to live a wretched life than to die a good death.
Yet right now, Bu Liuliu simply wished he could successfully die back where he came from.
Or simply drop dead and get reincarnated, either way would be fine!
Why did he harbor such an extreme thought? Entirely because his transmigration was a total nightmare.
He had transmigrated into a book.
It was an upgrading-style, harem-esque web novel that he had roasted to absolute extremes.
He had been innocently browsing a male-oriented web fiction site for a novel with high click counts, intending to use it to pass some time.
Who could have known that this novel was simply…
An absolute assault on his worldview.
As a red-blooded man, how could Bu Liuliu possibly tolerate a male-oriented novel containing content that belonged squarely on a female-oriented fiction platform?
He had skimmed through roughly the general plot from beginning to end, and immediately embarked on a frenzy of relentless snarking and roasting.
As for how exactly he had roasted it, he no longer cared to recall.
All he knew was that this novel, titled Asking Immortals, naturally ended on a happy note: the two male protagonists cue the emphasis, two male protagonists joined hands to slay the major villain and supreme demonic overlord, Bu Liuqing, obtaining the key to opening the path toward the cultivation continent from Bu Liuqing’s remains.
Their monumental achievements established an eternal legacy for this realm. It was the two male protagonists who breathed ultimate hope back into this imprisoned continent, transforming into legends of this realm before ultimately remaining together in mutual devotion, partnering up to head toward the new continent and pioneer their own brand-new domain.
Longevity and asking immortals a temptation no one could ever refuse.
Yet the demonic overlord Bu Liuqing had stubbornly concealed the secret of the key all along. He was simply damned, an evil sinner of the entire imprisoned continent whom everyone had a right to punish and execute.
What was the actual truth of the matter?
Damn it… to put it bluntly, Bu Liuqing himself didn’t even know he carried such a key! It was entirely hard-coded onto Bu Liuqing by the author simply to serve the plot requirement of providing a final boss for the two male protagonists to farm for experience.
And that wasn’t even the main point. The main point was that the major villain, Bu Liuqing, was thoroughly finished—completely and utterly dead.
Yet the innocent young man Bu Liuliu had somehow ended up mistakenly arriving in this world.
Bu Liuliu desperately wanted to complain once more and find out if there was any way to transmigrate back, because…
What on earth was the point of him transmigrated here when the story had already reached the grand finale?!
Corpse-lying, or… otherworldly zombie apocalypse.
And he smelled so foul!
While Bu Liuliu was lost in the passage of time, half-dead and half-alive, as he watched the seventh sunrise since coming to this world ascend into the sky—still completely paralyzed, his stench growing even more overwhelming, conscious only with stiff, unmoving facial expressions he decided to give up struggling entirely. He figured he might as well see if the heavens, seeing how spineless he was and how much he was humiliating the fraternity of transmigrators, would grant him a clean death to end his misery once and for all, letting him continue his muddled existence in peace. Just as he was sinking into total despair, a beam of light cut through space and time like…
A falling star descending straight from the heavens.
Trailing a long tail streak across the sky, it plunged directly toward Bu Liuliu right at the center of the giant crater. It was as clichéd and coincidental as that.
“Tch…”
The instant that beam of light merged into Bu Liuliu’s body, connecting with his soul at blistering speed, a chilling, mocking voice rang out.
Slower than the beam of light by a mere second.
Right inside the giant crater where Bu Liuliu had previously been left lying like a corpse, a second figure materialized. Through his dim, failing vision, Bu Liuliu watched as the newcomer stood directly before him against the backdrop of golden sunlight.
Then, the person utterly ignored his corpse-like physical shell, waving both hands as streams of flowing multicolored light danced about. Looking at the illusory radiance, it actually looked quite pretty.
Bu Liuliu had no idea what the other person was doing, but he knew for a fact that the person must be extraordinarily powerful. From the memories inherited from Bu Liuqing, he recognized that the other party’s techniques were vastly, incomparably superior to anything on this imprisoned continent. In any case, it gave Bu Liuliu a profoundly lofty, high-end impression.
Was this because of that clichéd scene just now? It seemed the earlier visual wasn’t an illusion or a hallucination of his he really had been struck by a meteor, though it didn’t hurt or itch. Presumably, it was some item belonging to this person that his body had accidentally absorbed, and now the owner was retrieving what rightfully belonged to him.
This was completely reasonable. Bu Liuliu simply relaxed his mind and body completely, letting the other person fiddle with him however they pleased. After all, he was essentially committing suicide by slow neglect anyway.
If the other person could lend a helping hand to finish him off, he would be genuinely grateful.
This simply wasn’t a world where he belonged.
The entire imprisoned continent was populated exclusively by men—fine, although there was a distinction between burly men and delicate ge’er, the fact remained… that he was a straight-as-an-arrow pure-blooded man. Coupled with Bu Liuqing’s notorious reputation across this imprisoned continent, before he even managed to reach the legendary cultivation continent, he’d probably be dead already. To avoid dying, he’d have to live under an assumed identity or mutilate his face beyond recognition.
Even so, Bu Liuliu could still have managed to limp along with the mindset of better a wretched life than a good death.
Yet how could any terminal case of a straight male survive in a world filled entirely with men?
Therefore, early death meant early rebirth.
So, buddy, do whatever you want. Ideally, just commit a little murder to silence a witness this person here has zero complaints whatsoever.
Bu Liuliu’s intentions were wonderful.
However, reality…
Took a sharp, unexpected turn right then and there…
