I Was Taken by the Female Lead After Transmigrating into a Book - Chapter 89
The next morning, Bai Feifei woke up even earlier than Huo Wu.
But what was surprising was that, unlike last time, she didn’t feel that same level of discomfort, other than her body being a little soft. She could walk while holding the wall and even complete her morning routine on her own.
“What’s the reason for this?” Bai Feifei walked back and forth, as if to prove that her legs weren’t wobbly. After a while, she squeezed in behind Huo Wu in the washroom, stood on her tiptoes, and hugged her. It was a bit difficult, but she managed to rest her chin on Huo Wu’s shoulder and meet her eyes in the mirror.
The question was a little out of the blue, but with the memories of the previous two days still fresh, when Bai Feifei was sitting on the floor with her leg muscles trembling, it wasn’t hard to guess what she was trying to express.
Huo Wu let Bai Feifei sway back and forth behind her. After she bent her head down to rinse her mouth, she said, “I didn’t make you spread your legs too far last night.”
Bai Feifei had never learned to dance, although she had a very bizarre girl group experience… but that group had no representative works. Her body coordination was actually not very high, and she hadn’t gone through any systematic training. Although she had mentioned to Bai Xue that she wanted to practice, she was still only limited to following some simple moves. She also didn’t do any daily stretching exercises, which was why the last time she exerted a lot of force, she ended up like that the next day.
Bai Feifei didn’t know why, but Huo Wu, who had been exercising for years, knew much more about it.
Bai Feifei didn’t seem to be embarrassed by this. Hearing the words, she even kissed the part of Huo Wu’s neck below her chin and asked, “Is it related to my legs?”
“It’s related to stretching,” Huo Wu turned around and kissed her on the mouth, saying, “Recently, my workload has been a bit tight, and the final scenes are scheduled closely together. After this period is over, we’ll work out together.”
Bai Feifei and Fu Xiaoxiao were the typical ‘mud duo.’
If they could sit, they wouldn’t stand, and if they could lie down, they wouldn’t sit. The words “working out” for them were more like an expensive bath card. When Bai Feifei heard this, she subconsciously touched Huo Wu’s abdomen, which had a completely different feel from her own. It was firm, with no love handles, and the texture was fundamentally different from someone who didn’t work out. When she stood up, her abdominal muscles were tense, and the texture could even be described as very pliable.
Bai Feifei loved the feeling of touching Huo Wu’s belly.
Hearing the suggestion, she thought for a moment, her mind filled with romantic fantasies: Huo Wu would do push-ups, and she would lie underneath. Every time Huo Wu went down, she would give her a kiss. Or Huo Wu would do pull-ups, and she would sit high up and give her a kiss every time she pulled up.
If an absurd idol drama were to happen to Huo Wu, Bai Feifei felt like it wouldn’t be so absurd after all.
She giggled for a while. When she came back to her senses, she realized that Huo Wu was already holding her arms and had been looking at her with a scrutinizing gaze for a while.
Bai Feifei touched the corner of her lips to make sure there was no saliva, then took two steps and hugged Huo Wu. She buried her head in her collarbone, taking a sniff and then a kiss.
Huo Wu laughed, reached out, and stroked Bai Feifei’s smooth, long hair. She massaged her a couple of times. When Bai Feifei relaxed and leaned against her, she said, “I’m talking about proper exercise. What are you thinking about?”
Bai Feifei struggled to open her eyes, her mind wandering. She thought that Huo Wu, who had played a blind masseuse in a film years ago, must have done a lot of research. Her hands had so much strength; in just a few presses, they made her sleepy.
After a while, she woke up and grumbled, “Working out is so tiring. There has to be a reward, right?”
“What reward?” Huo Wu bent slightly, lifted Bai Feifei’s chin with two fingers, and gently pecked her on the lips, saying, “Like this?”
Bai Feifei was about to nod when she heard Huo Wu say, “Are you sure you want to use this action…” As she spoke, she kissed Bai Feifei again.
The kissing was already very familiar. Bai Feifei loved it and couldn’t help but follow up, pecking a few times and then licking and sucking with her tongue.
Huo Wu’s voice became a little hoarse as she said, “…as a reward?”
Bai Feifei couldn’t help but stare at Huo Wu’s lips. After a moment, her lust-crazed brain became a little clearer. From Huo Wu’s perspective, her brain wasn’t very smart as she tried to calculate the equation.
Soon, she shook her head and said decisively, “No.”
She could already kiss whenever she wanted, and Huo Wu wouldn’t refuse. If she made it a reward, she wouldn’t be able to kiss her unless she completed the task, and that would be a huge loss.
Bai Feifei suddenly became spirited, “How can you use something like this as a bargaining chip?”
She said righteously, “It will simply destroy our relationship!”
Huo Wu held back her laughter. “You’re absolutely right.”
After a night of indulgence, a lot of wine had been opened. Li Ke had actually intentionally let everyone loosen up. The filming was already halfway through, and there were no special holidays to celebrate. Everyone was feeling a bit down.
The all-night party also brought the already familiar team closer, and everyone was getting along well. Some minor conflicts that existed before seemed to be handled with a better attitude.
The only downside was that after a night of revelry, everyone was in a state of extreme fatigue mixed with excitement. Their bodies and spirits were very active, but their minds were empty.
This also made the day’s filming progress not very smooth. In the morning, they managed to finish the scenes for the main A group. In the afternoon, Li Ke simply gave them half a day off to rest. Everyone went back to catch up on sleep, and there was no rush to film at night, as they had to ensure everyone was on set the next day.
Even the most energetic person couldn’t keep up the high energy by the afternoon.
The “Behind the Scenes” film crew recorded the events until the evening of the next day. After documenting everything truthfully and confirming with the film crew, they finally announced that the first stage of filming was complete and everyone was to be withdrawn.
That evening was the last scene between Bai Feifei and Li Ran. He hadn’t finished filming yet; it would be a few days after Ling Xinghe, but yesterday he had celebrated at the wrap party with Ling Xinghe.
“It’s finally over,” Li Ran’s eyes were also shadowed with exhaustion from working through this period. “I hate this heavy rain.”
The unexpected extreme weather couldn’t even be accurately predicted by the meteorological bureau, which forced all of the film crew’s shooting schedules to be changed. Li Ran and Ling Xinghe’s scenes were originally meant to be filmed within two weeks, but due to unforeseen circumstances, the scenes scheduled for that period could not be completed as planned.
Li Ke was stubborn in some ways and didn’t compromise easily. He insisted on using natural light for certain scenes. Besides, many outdoor scenes were supposed to be sunny, which couldn’t be simulated with artificial light. Even post-production couldn’t achieve a 100% or even 50% restoration.
Meanwhile, Li Ran and Ling Xinghe had very busy schedules. Li Ke was forced to say that if the artists’ work schedules couldn’t be coordinated, they could terminate their contracts, and he would pay whatever was owed.
However, the teams for Li Ran and Ling Xinghe were surprisingly in agreement—missing one variety show wouldn’t kill them, but missing a chance to work with Li Ke would be difficult to come by a second time in their lives.
Not to mention Ling Xinghe and Huo Wu were siblings and yet it was still difficult for him to get a role in a film that Huo Wu was starring in and overseeing. Li Ran was in an even more difficult position.
After negotiations, the two of them had been traveling back and forth between several cities. Finally, with the joint efforts of all parties, they managed to film most of the scenes that were originally scheduled for two weeks.
Because of this, they both absolutely loathed the nearly month-long heavy rain.
But people’s joys and sorrows are not the same. When Bai Feifei thought back on this past month, she felt happy and fulfilled.
So, in front of Li Ran’s miserable face, Bai Feifei giggled, holding up a prop knife beside her. “I think this heavy rain isn’t so bad after all.”
Li Ran: “…”
Late at night, at a deserted school.
Fusang received an anonymous email containing a three-minute video. It was a surveillance video of a crossroad.
The video clearly showed her stopping at the intersection, leaving the exact spot at a precise moment, followed by the violent collision between a motorcycle and a van.
The sender of the email arranged to meet her at the abandoned building after her evening self-study at 10 PM.
The email was sudden and strange. It only specified the meeting time but didn’t mention what would happen if Fusang didn’t show up.
The continuous heavy rain made the abandoned building look desolate, like a post-disaster ruin. There were frogs croaking and insects chirping everywhere. When Fusang walked past a small puddle, she startled a large group of hopping frogs. In this environment, it was impossible to approach the building silently.
So, after thinking for a moment, she walked unhurriedly towards the building. But with one hand, she discreetly touched the location of her belt, hidden by her large school uniform, and lowered her head even more.
In the empty, old classroom, three boys were already waiting.
They weren’t wearing school uniforms. One had a broken arm, one had a broken leg, and the other one didn’t seem to be missing any limbs but was using a crutch. When he stood up, one side of his body was paralyzed.
Three people who survived the car accident but had their futures ruined.
Fusang stood at the classroom door, looking at the three men’s gloomy eyebrows and their aura of hostility. The hooligans who had lost their usual arrogant and wild demeanor in just a few days, smiled.
The four people were in a standoff, and no one broke the silence—until the sound of broken glass being stepped on came from the stairs not far away.
The boy with the missing arm had an expression of undisguised rage and hatred in his eyebrows. “You bitch, you brought someone with you?”
He spit out the cigarette from his mouth, stomped on it angrily with one foot, and strode towards Fusang.
Fusang didn’t dodge, letting him grab her collar with one hand. The force was so great it was enough to lift her up, leaving only her toes touching the ground.
The noise from the stairs suddenly grew louder. A distinctly male voice ran heavily from the mezzanine toward them, shouting, “Li Wei! What are you three doing? I’ve already called the police!”
“We have a hero coming to save the beauty,” Li Wei pushed Fusang with great force, sending her stumbling into the classroom. “Tie her up. Damn it, Li Ran, you traitor. You have the guts to come here. This bitch ruined the rest of my life. What about you? Are you just going to pretend you don’t know your brothers?”
Li Ran’s dash to the stairs stopped abruptly.
Li Wei was tall and big, nearly 1.9 meters tall, blocking the corridor filled with discarded construction materials. A cold wind howled outside the window. The corridor was only lit by the reflected lights and moonlight from the surrounding buildings. Coupled with his heavy breathing and the sound squeezing from his throat, he looked like a zombie from the end of the world coming to claim a life.
Li Ran subconsciously took a step back.
But in the next second, a painful groan from a young girl and the muffled sound of blows and angry curses came from the dilapidated classroom. The insults and the words being repeatedly mentioned made Li Ran’s expression hesitant.
He stopped his retreating footsteps.
“What video are you talking about?” Li Ran asked, looking at Li Wei’s tall figure. “Why should Fusang pay for Li Mingming and your brothers’ lives?”
