I Topped the Aloof Omega in a Scummy Alpha Novel - Chapter 3
“Oh, getting married… huh?”
Bian Yuchen’s face was like frost. She tilted her head slightly, staring out the window. The temperature in the car was already low, and the driver in the front dared not breathe.
Xuan Yuchi was completely oblivious: “Sister Bian, I miss you so much. You came at the perfect time. If you were even a little later, I would have been miserable.”
“Hug!”
She spread her arms and leaned toward Bian Yuchen, but she was met with a copy of World Cinema, which blocked her arms and landed between them, forming a clear demarcation line.
“Miss Xuan, long time no see,” Bian Yuchen looked straight at her.
Miss Xuan?
Xuan Yuchi looked at the cold face again and thought of the things she had done before going abroad.
Most likely, Yuchen was still angry.
Xuan Yuchi’s tone softened further: “Sister Bian, I was impulsive before, but now I’ve figured it out. Will you give me another chance?”
Bian Yuchen sneered and looked away: “What’s going on with those people outside?”
Xuan Yuchi looked outside awkwardly, suddenly realizing that the car was driving so slowly, intentionally keeping the group of people behind them.
Failing to repay a debt was not something to be proud of. Moreover, “she” had come up with such a terrible idea to avoid paying the money, and she really had no face to tell Yuchen.
Xuan Yuchi: “They are robbers. They’re very bad.”
The driver secretly glanced at Xuan Yuchi through the rearview mirror, a look that seemed to say:
She’s finished.
Bian Yuchen: “Is that so? It seems they are indeed very bad. Not only are they robbing you of money, but they are also trying to kill you?”
Xuan Yuchi pitifully said: “Yes, yes!”
“Stop the car.”
The driver stepped on the brake. The women behind quickly caught up. Some blocked the front of the car, and some tried to open the car doors.
Bian Yuchen glared at her again: “Xuan Yuchi, you better tell the truth, or you can get out.”
Why so fierce…
Xuan Yuchi pouted, her voice as small as a mosquito: “I owe some money abroad, and they are here to collect the debt.”
Bian Yuchen: “And what else?”
Xuan Yuchi rubbed her neck: “What else?”
Bian Yuchen said coldly: “Things other than owing money.”
Xuan Yuchi racked her brain, but she couldn’t figure out what Bian Yuchen was talking about. Her memories of being abroad were too vague, only surfacing occasionally and intermittently.
Xuan Yuchi: “Nothing special, just owed some money.”
Bian Yuchen: “Unlock the…”
Xuan Yuchi: “No, no, no! I remember!”
In fact, she hadn’t remembered anything.
Xuan Yuchi: [666, give me a hint. You must know!]
System: [According to public information, you were a ‘Sea King’ while abroad.] (T/N: Slang for a person who flirts with many people/players).
A Sea King?!
Her?!
As a few fragments of memory were awakened, Xuan Yuchi felt a tightness in her chest.
She had been ambiguously involved with no less than ten omegas abroad. What was worse, every single one of them was married.
Did Sister Bian know something and want her to honestly confess…
Xuan Yuchi was ashamed: “I… I…”
Bian Yuchen: “Unlo…”
Xuan Yuchi: “I’m a scumbag!”
Bian Yuchen glanced at her coldly.
That was the truth, at least.
Xuan Yuchi: “It was all just a game for me. It was for survival. Sister Bian, don’t worry, nothing happened between me and those women!”
The streetlights went out, and Bian Yuchen’s face darkened, hidden in the shadows. Xuan Yuchi seemed to see her sigh softly.
Xuan Yuchi tentatively asked: “Actually… if I said I had amnesia and those things in the middle weren’t done by me, would you believe me?”
Bian Yuchen closed her eyes.
Lying again.
Xuan Yuchi’s flaw had never changed since childhood.
“Drive.”
The women outside kept pounding on the car doors, to no avail. Feeling the car moving, those few who weren’t afraid of death spread their arms wide.
The driver’s skills were superb, and he drove away with a sharp turn.
Xuan Yuchi wasn’t sure if Yuchen believed her, but this matter was indeed quite absurd and would take time to accept.
Since Yuchen didn’t throw her out, did that mean she wasn’t angry for now?
Xuan Yuchi knew it. Yuchen couldn’t be that heartless!
It had been so many years. The longest they had ever been in a cold war was only two hours, although Xuan Yuchi was always the one who apologized first.
But she had finally returned from abroad. How could Yuchen bear to be angry with her for too long?!
Hehe…
Xuan Yuchi spoke in a soft voice: “Sister Bian, where are we going now?”
Bian Yuchen: “Pingjia Villa.”
Bian Yuchen seemed a little tired and closed her eyes. Xuan Yuchi kept her eyes wide open, watching her.
Counting the days, they hadn’t seen each other for six years. Bian Yuchen was twenty-eight this year, but her skin was as good as when she was eighteen, with a few extra touches of mature woman’s beauty compared to eighteen.
She used to walk down the street, and passersby would praise Bian Yuchen’s stunning beauty with infatuated looks. Xuan Yuchi used to think their reaction was exaggerated, but now she finally understood that her Sister Bian had the face of a celestial being.
She had been too unappreciative before!
It was only an engagement with someone else; she still had time to win her back.
Xuan Yuchi coughed: “Sister Bian, I heard you got engaged again.”
Upon hearing the word “again,” Bian Yuchen’s brow twitched. She lifted her eyelids.
Xuan Yuchi: “Do I… still have a chance?”
In Bian Yuchen’s eyes, Xuan Yuchi looked frivolous, smiling widely, seemingly unaware of the seriousness of the situation.
So she parted her thin lips and solemnly told her former fiancée: “It’s marriage.”
Xuan Yuchi: “Oh, getting married… huh?”
“You’re already married?!” As the one who gave up on the relationship first, Xuan Yuchi didn’t know where she got the courage to question this way.
Bian Yuchen stared straight at her: “Yes, I’m married.”
Xuan Yuchi: “Then… can you get a divorce?”
A hint of anger appeared on Bian Yuchen’s face: “Xuan Yuchi, what do you think engagement means, and what does marriage mean? You’re happy, so you announce to the world that you’ll spend the rest of your life with someone, and when you’re tired of it, you just pack up and leave?”
Xuan Yuchi lowered her head, fidgeting with the wrinkled hem of her clothes.
That year, Bian Yuchen knelt and begged her not to leave.
Xuan Yuchi said, “I’m tired of it. Please let me go.”
Damn those memories. Xuan Yuchi’s face was beet red.
The thought that Sister Bian had actually knelt and begged her made her too ashamed to look her in the eye.
She made a low, bubbling sound in her throat: “Ah, ah, ah, ah…”
When the car arrived at Pingjia Manor, Xuan Yuchi opened the door and got out. Bian Yuchen called out to her.
“This is the last time.”
The Bentley sped away.
Xuan Yuchi’s mood involuntarily soared.
Sister Bian had forgiven her again.
As long as she didn’t do anything to hurt Sister Bian in the future, they still had a chance.
She didn’t believe Sister Bian would fall in love with anyone else. As long as she was alive, she could wait for the day Bian Yuchen got divorced, and then she would seize the opportunity.
“Knock, knock, knock.”
Xuan Ling heard the knocking and first checked through the peephole. No one was outside.
“Who is it?” she asked in a low voice.
“Mom, open the door quickly. It’s me.” Xuan Yuchi tied her shoelaces and straightened up.
Xuan Ling looked through the peephole again in disbelief. Tears immediately welled up. She lowered her head to wipe away the tears, tidied up her top, and then opened the door for Xuan Yuchi.
“Mom, I missed you so much.” Xuan Yuchi reached out, but withdrew her hand just before touching Xuan Ling.
She hadn’t been close to her mother since she started middle school. At that time, Xuan Ling said she was half an adult and should be disciplined in her speech and actions, forbidding her from doing things like this. Xuan Yuchi almost forgot.
Xuan Ling nodded and took a pair of slippers from the shoe cabinet for her.
These slippers belonged to her father. Her mother still kept them.
Xuan Yuchi scanned the shoe cabinet, which only contained a few pairs of shoes, all belonging to her mother.
She bent down and put the slippers back: “I’m fine barefoot.”
Xuan Ling: “No need to change. The floor is cold at night.”
Xuan Yuchi was slightly shocked. When she was little, she was lectured by Xuan Ling for wearing shoes in the living room.
Could it be that the shock of bankruptcy was too great, making her mother realize the importance of family ties?
Of course, Xuan Yuchi wouldn’t be polite. She left a trail of yellowish footprints all the way to the sofa and sat down.
Xuan Ling locked the door and sat opposite her daughter.
As an only child, Xuan Yuchi never had the courage to talk to her mother. She was afraid to look into her mother’s deep eyes…
Traditional mother-daughter relationships were like ruler and subject, enemies, love rivals, sisters… only after the mother was bankrupt!
Did they become mother and daughter?
Three hours passed, and Xuan Yuchi was drowsy. She somewhat doubted that the burden of restoring the family was too heavy.
At Cloud Water Villa, Bian Yuchen finished her dinner with the producers and returned home at two in the morning.
She had drunk a lot of alcohol.
When she first entered the industry, she attended many dinners for networking. Five out of ten people in this line of work could drink a lot, and a newcomer actor had no right to refuse.
Later, when she became famous, no one dared to pressure her into drinking at the dinners she attended, and they stopped at a reasonable point.
Only today did she want to get completely drunk, but it turned out she was still one of those who couldn’t be defeated by a thousand cups.
A text message: Patriarch, are you available?
Bian Yuchen kicked off her high heels, collapsed into the recliner, tossed her phone aside, and massaged her temples.
A moment later, she called back.
Jessica: “Patriarch, I did as you asked and asked all Miss Xuan’s neighbors and former employers. Everything we investigated before is true.”
Bian Yuchen: “And what else?”
Jessica: “What aspect is the Patriarch referring to?”
Is it about Xuan Yuchi squandering money abroad and owing a huge debt? Or is it about Xuan Yuchi being ambiguously involved with many women?
To investigate Xuan Yuchi as quickly as possible, Jessica had put in a lot of effort. A local alpha thought Jessica was related to Xuan Yuchi and almost beat her up.
Bian Yuchen was silent for a while: “Did anyone threaten her? Did she have any unspeakable difficulties?”
Jessica: “Miss Xuan initiated everything. There were no exceptions.”
Bian Yuchen tightly gripped her phone, the veins on the back of her fair hand protruding.
“Stop investigating her matters.”
Bian Yuchen looked at the photos sent by Jessica, one by one. They were group photos of Xuan Yuchi and various women. She smiled brightly in every single one.
Bian Yuchen slid through the photos faster and faster. An accidental touch exited the photo interface. The summer heat was already annoying, and she heavily slammed her phone away.
A tiny crack appeared on the floor-to-ceiling window.
Bai Fu stood at the door.
She knocked, but no one answered.
The lights were clearly on in the villa. Bai Fu walked around to the outside of the floor-to-ceiling window. The smile that had been on her face froze when she saw Bian Yuchen’s gloomy expression.
Bai Fu shook the red wine in her hand and then pointed toward the door.
Bian Yuchen turned around and walked out of the room, her voice ice-cold: “What are you doing here?”
Xuan Yuchi woke up with a start from her dream. She felt the soft bed and closed her eyes again in peace.
She just dreamed that she stepped on a power line and was electrocuted.
