The district was a mix of neon lights and green signs.

On the second floor of a high-ceilinged apartment, Yue Yin  was sitting on the balcony sofa, looking at the brilliant moonlight outside. The sky in the book was clean and pure. Even in the dead of night, the moonlight poured down everywhere, illuminating Yue Yin’s surroundings as if it were daytime.

In the tall glass was a vibrant red liquid. Yue Yin picked it up, took a close-up photo against the moonlight, and froze the oscillating rhythm of the red wine with her phone.

Yue Yin thought for a moment and added: [Just missing the company]

She tapped the green send button, then threw the phone onto the empty sofa beside her, tilted her head back, and finished the red wine in the glass. The ice-cold red wine stimulated her tongue and throat. Yue Yin felt the taste was exceptionally novel.

Clatter—

She put the wine glass down and picked up her phone again. Although only a few seconds had passed, more than a dozen red dots had appeared on the messenger app, but she didn’t even look at them. Instead, she scrolled down and found a conversation from a week ago. Mang Ke’s last message to her was: [I’ve arrived at the location, where are you?]

That was the message Mang Ke sent her while waiting on the roadside during the last tea party. After Xun Fangyun  arrived and took her away, Mang Ke never said another word to her.

Why?

Yue Yin cradled her cheek, a little distressed. Why was Mang Ke ignoring her? What was the difference between her and Xun Fangyun? Or was loving Xun Fangyun Mang Ke’s destiny???

“Ugh…” Yue Yin sighed. Didn’t they say that entering this world would allow her to change the affection levels of different characters? Why hadn’t anyone’s affection level changed for her?

She poked Mang Ke’s profile picture and saw a post Mang Ke had made moments ago: [I’m sick, my mouth tastes like nothing. I want an angel to come save me with spicy dried fish!]

Yue Yin’s eyes instantly lit up! The little rabbit is actually sick???? Oh my god, how could such a healthy little rabbit get sick!!!

Yue Yin clicked on the image. It was an empty bowl of white porridge. It looked like the taste wasn’t great, or Mang Ke wouldn’t have bothered to make a post about it. The little rabbit has turned into a sick rabbit. Yue Yin felt like she should do something.

She moved her fingers and sent Mang Ke a message: [Are you feeling a little better?]

Mang Ke seemed to be on her phone and quickly replied: [Thanks for the concern. I’m much better today. The doctor said I’ll be fine if I sleep for two more days.]

Yue Yin: [How could you be so careless? The weather’s changing, so remember to keep warm. Being sick must be tough, right?]

Mang Ke: [Yes, it is. My mouth feels dry from being sick, and I can’t taste anything I eat.]

Yue Yin: [You’re still thinking about food at a time like this? You must really love to eat, huh?]

Mang Ke: [Hehe, I’m idle anyway, so what else is there to do besides eat?]

Yue Yin propped up her chin, her lips curling up with interest. Even though the little darling is sick, she sounds quite spirited based on the chat tone.

Yue Yin: [How about this, I happen to be free tomorrow. Shall I bring spicy dried fish and come see you?]

She originally thought Mang Ke would reply instantly to this message, but Yue Yin waited and waited, and after more than ten minutes, she still hadn’t seen a reply.

Yue Yin: ????? Why isn’t she replying to me!!!!!

At the same time, Xun Fangyun held Mang Ke’s phone with a look of displeasure.

“You’re sick. Why are you playing on your phone???” Xun Fangyun’s face darkened: “Do you know you have a fever again? If you don’t take good care of your own body, do you expect me to take care of you!”

Mang Ke covered her head with the quilt: “Stop lecturing, stop lecturing, Master, stop lecturing!” She had been lying in the quilt all day. She just woke up and wanted to play on her phone for a bit. Who knew Xun Fangyun had such a temper?

Mang Ke secretly muttered to herself: The domineering CEO now sounds like an old mother… People say that domineering CEOs are just childish brats with the mental age of three. Xun Fangyun is not only a childish brat but also a stubborn tsundere. Mang Ke poked her head out with a long face: “Why are you being so mean to me? Aren’t you going to comfort me when I’m sick?”

Xun Fangyun glanced at her, knelt on the bed, and squeezed her face into a ball. “If I comfort you, will you behave?”

“Ngh…”

“Little idiot should go to sleep. Phone confiscated.”

“Ah?!” Mang Ke quickly sat up: “No way, I just…”

Xun Fangyun looked at her with a cold face: “What were you just doing?”

“Nothing,” Mang Ke whispered: “It’s just that if I don’t operate it soon, I might be reported for being inactive…”

Xun Fangyun tucked the phone into her chest and told her: “With your skill, if you scattered rice on the screen, a chicken would play better than you. Go to sleep obediently. I don’t want to say the same thing twice.”

Mang Ke had no choice but to shrink her head and burrow into the quilt, preparing for her third sleep of the day.

Mang Ke’s phone was taken by Xun Fangyun back to her own room and casually tossed onto the desk before she started to wash up and prepare for bed. Although she hadn’t gone to work today, she had still spent the entire day caring for Mang Ke.

Xun Fangyun unbuttoned her shirt while chuckling softly: “I didn’t expect taking care of a sick person to be quite interesting.” She recalled the scene of feeding Mang Ke medicine—her face twisted up, goosebumps popping out from the bitterness. Xun Fangyun couldn’t help but wonder why Mang Ke was so much like a child.

After taking off the last piece of clothing and tossing it on the floor, Xun Fangyun was about to go to the bathroom when she heard a slight sound from the phone on the desk—a message notification. Mang Ke’s phone screen flashed, and a green thumbnail box popped up, the notification for a private message from a specific app.

Xun Fangyun turned around barefoot, walked to Mang Ke’s phone, and glanced at it. Due to privacy settings, the thumbnail box didn’t show who left the message for Mang Ke or the specific content. Xun Fangyun’s eyes stared deeply at it, as if she could see the contents through the thin electronic screen.

Ultimately, Xun Fangyun chose to respect Mang Ke’s privacy, flipped the phone face-down on the desk, and turned to continue her own matters.

A white mist quickly rose in the bathroom, obscuring Xun Fangyun’s sight and hearing. She completely missed that Mang Ke’s phone received another call. This time, without the privacy protection, the incoming call on the overturned screen only showed two words—Yue Yin.

The next morning, after Mang Ke slept for a full dozen hours, she felt like her body and mind had turned into a slime, soft and almost powerless.

She opened her eyes, greeted by the first wisp of beautiful sunlight. The warm sun spilled onto the bed and the carpet, making Mang Ke feel warm all over.

So comfortable! I feel like I’m instantly cured!

Mang Ke sat up and stretched, yawning as she planned to wash her face in the bathroom first, then get ready to eat breakfast downstairs.

Pushing the bedroom door open, Mang Ke walked boredly in her pink flannel nightgown toward the bathroom. After only two steps, she heard voices talking downstairs. Who is it, coming to the house so early in the morning?

Mang Ke was curious, so she stood on her tiptoes and peered stealthily over the second-floor railing downstairs. She saw Xun Fangyun sitting on the sofa in a black silk nightgown, her large black waves cascading behind her, elegant and charming.

Sitting opposite her was a woman with a graceful figure.

Xun Fangyun slowly spoke: “You came to see me. Is something the matter?”

The woman opposite her picked up a cup of tea, took a sip, and chuckled: “Can’t I come to see you just because I have nothing to do, Fangyun?”

Mang Ke leaned out and looked closely again, finally seeing the woman’s profile.

It’s Yue Yin? Why is she here???

Mang Ke’s heart skipped a beat. This woman… must be here to kick her out of Xun Fangyun’s house!!!!
