I Quit Being This Female Lead (GL) - Chapter 11
“Wi-Wife…???”
Everyone thought they had misheard. They stared at the two women with wide eyes: “President Xun, did you just say…”
“I said Mang Ke (芒可) is my wife.” Xun Fangyun (荀妨藴) rubbed the little rabbit’s head and said to the crowd: “Didn’t you know I was engaged?”
Everyone thought: Of course, we know you’re engaged, but we didn’t know who you were marrying!
Xun Fangyun chuckled as she rubbed Mang Ke’s head, continuing: “Because I’m usually quite busy with work, I often don’t have time to accompany her. Thank you for being willing to keep her company for tea today.”
Everyone: “…”
The room was suddenly eerily silent. Th-th-this… What’s with that doting expression! Could the person marrying Xun Fangyun really be this girl in front of us??? Why such a sudden twist??? The person whose clothing and accessories look desperately cheap, and whose bag is an outdated twenty-thousand-plus item, is Xun Fangyun’s wife???
Everyone gasped. Especially those who had just rolled their eyes at Mang Ke or spoken rudely to her, they all wondered if they should rush over and apologize right now. At best, they were the women behind wealthy men, ranked according to their husbands’ status. Now, they had offended Xun Fangyun’s new wife. If that woman was petty, their whole group could be in trouble!
While everyone was stunned, Yue Yin (悅茵) was also frozen in place. What??? The girl I wanted to pick up is actually my first love’s wife?! Is this for real? How is this so messy!!! I actually wanted to hook up with my love rival, invited her to dinner, and asked her to a tea party. It’s… unimaginable. Thinking of this, Yue Yin almost lost her breath.
Compared to the group locked in intense psychological battles, Mang Ke’s side was much simpler. Xun Fangyun was patting Mang Ke’s head with her hand, one tap after another, like disciplining a child, which made Mang Ke slightly uncomfortable.
“Don’t be fierce to me anymore. I know I was wrong.”
Xun Fangyun lowered her voice and asked: “Where did you go wrong?”
“Well… I just wanted to go out and have some fun. Staying home is so boring,” Mang Ke complained, grabbing Xun Fangyun’s hand.
“Oh?” Xun Fangyun snorted: “Staying home is a hardship for you?”
“Not exactly…” Mang Ke said: “I just don’t have friends and wanted to go out.”
Xun Fangyun glanced at the group of people behind her, whispering to Mang Ke: “You want to be friends with people like them?”
Mang Ke shook her head vigorously. Their bags cost several million each. She couldn’t afford that at all. How could she hang out with them? It was much more comfortable to drink milk tea and watch movies by herself.
Xun Fangyun smiled knowingly. She also disliked this group of chattering women. If they had that much free time, they should focus more on the plot to quickly end this book.
“Do you want to continue having tea?”
“No, the tea isn’t good…”
Xun Fangyun pinched the little rabbit’s face and said: “Then hurry up and leave with me. Can’t you see I came to rescue you?”
Mang Ke smiled like a blooming flower, holding Xun Fangyun’s hand and saying: “I can see that! Let’s go quickly!”
Xun Fangyun held Mang Ke’s hand, turned to the group, and said: “We have something to attend to, so we’ll leave first. Please continue your tea.”
Mang Ke also quickly picked up her bag, bowed to the group: “Then we’ll be going now. Let’s keep in touch~”
The two came quickly and left just as fast, disappearing in the blink of an eye. Only a room full of people were left staring at each other.
“Oh my god, did I say the wrong thing just now?” The woman in the green clothes who had previously scolded Mang Ke was sweating cold: “My husband is a manager at Xun Fangyun’s company. What if she fires him!”
The woman in black was also flustered: “I was just laughing at her! If she holds a grudge, we’re finished!”
“Yue Yin, what in the world is going on?” Someone pulled Yue Yin’s sleeve and said: “Aren’t you Xun Fangyun’s first love? How can you not even know she’s married and who the person is, causing us so much trouble!?”
Yue Yin recovered and rolled her eyes at everyone: “You brought this disaster on yourselves. Why are you blaming me? Don’t you think I would bring someone to a tea party for no reason? A bunch of idiots.”
After saying this, she also grabbed her things and left.
In the elevator, Mang Ke scratched her head and said: “How did you suddenly find me? You scared me.”
Xun Fangyun snorted, showing her displeasure. Mang Ke watched as the elevator slowly descended. This was a general-use elevator, so it quickly filled up with many people. Those people squeezed Mang Ke further inside. Mang Ke had no choice but to retreat step by step until she reached the corner of the elevator.
When Mang Ke turned her head, she saw Xun Fangyun leaning against the elevator wall with a look of distaste, staring at the people in front of her with displeasure written all over her face. Mang Ke guessed that Xun Fangyun, being used to being a CEO, probably didn’t like being crowded into an elevator like this. She quickly squeezed her way through the crowd. Soon, Mang Ke found her way next to Xun Fangyun.
“Excuse me…” Mang Ke looked at the person in front of Xun Fangyun, forced her way in between him and Xun Fangyun, and stood there like a wall, separating the two.
Xun Fangyun leaned against the elevator wall, her dark eyes staring at Mang Ke, full of amusement. The cramped elevator was very crowded, making it difficult even to turn around. Mang Ke looked at Xun Fangyun’s eyes, her face flushed. She scratched her cheek and turned her head to the side.
She smelled Xun Fangyun’s scent—fragrant, yet not the smell of perfume. It seemed to be the scent of having been in the sun… Mang Ke secretly peeked forward, wanting to smell the scent again.
“Don’t move around.” Xun Fangyun had lowered her head at some point and whispered in Mang Ke’s ear: “The elevator is so crowded. Why are you still trying to worm your way into my arms?”
Mang Ke’s face instantly turned crimson. She said exasperatedly: “I am not…” After speaking, she couldn’t help but bite her lip. The elevator was quiet. Even a slight whisper could be heard. Mang Ke didn’t dare to speak up for a moment.
Xun Fangyun seemed extremely entertained. She reached out and wrapped her arm around Mang Ke’s waist, pulling her completely into her embrace. Now this is great. Mang Ke, who had wanted to secretly smell the fragrance earlier, could now smell it to her heart’s content.
The elevator occasionally stopped while descending. Mang Ke felt that the ride was particularly slow today. Why did it stop so many times, and why wasn’t it full yet!!! Xun Fangyun saw that Mang Ke’s ears were red, so she reached out to brush aside the long hair tucked behind her ear, covering the red earlobes.
Mang Ke: “…” Now, they were even redder.
Xun Fangyun’s hand was on her waist. Xun Fangyun’s fair neck was in front of her. Her fresh scent was at her nose. Mang Ke felt like time was standing still.
The little devil was tired of poking. It half-heartedly nudged Mang Ke with its little stick—Xun Fangyun is so beautiful, with a slender waist, long legs, and lots of money. Isn’t she the lover of your dreams? Look how tightly she’s holding you. Don’t you want to hug her back? Elevator play—shy yet exciting. Don’t you want to try it!
Mang Ke gritted her teeth and blushed. Forget about ‘play,’ she did want to hug Xun Fangyun’s waist!!!! Xun Fangyun’s leather skirt, encased in her black trench coat, looked so slender and fierce.
Can I really hug her!!! Will I be beaten up if I do!!! Xun Fangyun is so aggressive. If she suddenly throws me out, where will I cry!!!! But… Wuwuwuwu, it’s now or never!
She struggled desperately internally, but the result was that even when they reached the 1st floor, Mang Ke still hadn’t had the courage to lift her hand.
Mang Ke: Useless! Aaaahhhh…
Complaining about herself, she followed Xun Fangyun out of the building with a slump.
“How did you get here?” Xun Fangyun asked, pulling out her car key: “By bus?”
Mang Ke shook her head: “I took a taxi.”
“Then come back with me,” Xun Fangyun turned to look at Mang Ke, extending her hand and saying: “Come here, don’t get lost.”
Mang Ke looked at her long, slender hand, her heart fluttering. Finally, she put her hand into hers. This is good too. If I can’t hug her waist, holding hands is fine!
Xun Fangyun held Mang Ke’s hand, seeing her face flush again. She felt that this paper character was truly amazing. Whatever she was thinking was clearly visible on her face. However… she didn’t dislike it.
