- I Need To Find A Way To Make Her Love Me Again
- Chapter 15 - An Accident on the Road in the Dense Fog
Jiaoyu was very sensitive to thunder. When she saw the dark clouds gathering, her eyes changed color. She turned her head, whipped the Huos beast with her tail, and ran toward the mountain forest.
The injured Huos beast roared in fury. How could it let the other party off easily? It chased after her.
Liu Ruoni saw that Yan Xingyu was still hanging onto the Huos beast and, fearing she might get hurt, also chased after them. She didn’t forget to say, “Miss Guan, you go up first. We will catch up.”
In an instant, only Guan Fei was left on the Ten Thousand Steps. She held the wooden walking stick in her hand, her fingertips digging deep into it. After standing silently for a long time, she started to move forward.
The Huos beast crawled rapidly through the forest. Yan Xingyu watched the dark clouds above them chasing the little fox to strike it. At this moment, she reacted quickly, reverting to her original body size, and deftly dodged the streaks of lightning striking down.
The two beasts chased each other relentlessly. The dense fog in the mountains grew heavier and heavier. Yan Xingyu couldn’t even see the little creature anymore. Fortunately, she held tightly to the Huos beast, thinking she would wait for it to take her out of this place first.
“Master.”
Hearing the voice, Yan Xingyu said, “Xiao Yin, how did you get out?”
“Don’t go forward. Stop.”
Yan Xingyu’s eyebrows furrowed as she looked at the dense fog in front of her. She asked, “Why? What’s ahead?”
Xiao Yin replied, “Master, I sense an infiltrating Yin energy. Don’t go any further it’s very dangerous.”
Yan Xingyu looked at the dense fog in front of her and struggled internally for a moment, but still chose to listen to Xiao Yin. She shouted, “Little creature, don’t run any further, it’s dangerous! Change direction!”
After shouting, Yan Xingyu jumped off the Huos beast in one fluid motion. Standing steady, she held a silver blade in one hand to wave away the fog and held another silver blade to guard herself.
Since she could use spiritual power, she guessed they might no longer be near the inner sect’s Ten Thousand Steps. Thinking of this, Yan Xingyu fumbled for another way in the fog, seeing if she could get out.
As she walked, her foot suddenly hit something hard. She thought it was a stone. When she looked down carefully, she saw a large water jar half-buried in the soil of the deep mountain forest.
It was covered with a thick wooden lid. Yan Xingyu wondered who would bury a water jar in this deep mountain forest. She kicked the wooden lid. Seeing no reaction, she continued to walk forward.
However, after only two or three steps, Yan Xingyu felt a slight tremor beneath her feet. For some unknown reason, she suddenly shivered and looked back.
A pair of bulging black eyes were staring at her from the gap between the wooden lid and the water jar. Yan Xingyu couldn’t help but swallow, and she was so scared that she turned her head and ran.
Watching the fog flow rapidly in front of her and feeling a cold wind swirling behind her, a chill ran down Yan Xingyu’s spine. She sped up her escape, but how could she be faster than a demon beast with an extra pair of wings?
A low squeak sound got closer and closer to her. Yan Xingyu turned her body, transforming a long spear in her hand, and thrust it out.
The seven foot long figure reacted swiftly and flew into the air, dodging the attack. She saw that the creature’s snow-white fluff was clustered around a pair of giant black eyes, and it had a pair of large antennae on its head. Its huge wings each had three cocoon-like things hanging from them, but this didn’t affect its flight.
Yan Xingyu immediately thought, “Where did this big moth come from? Could it also be one of the ancestors of this Qingding Mountain raised? Ahhh! Save me! I hate moths the most!”
The Plain Moth didn’t care whether the person disliked it or not. After dodging the human’s attack, it flew forward and struck again.
Yan Xingyu was afraid that her spiritual power would not be enough when fighting the demon beast, so she quickly used a spiritual talisman. Feeling her body instantly replenish, she began to fight the large moth that was relentlessly clinging to her.
The Plain Moth only knew to try and capture the person, while Yan Xingyu was much more agile. She specifically targeted the creature’s vulnerable spots. The moth was not like the previous Huos beast, which had tough scales that couldn’t be penetrated.
Instead, her attacks made the moth squeak continuously. The Plain Moth was extremely angry and actually spat out white silk from its mouth. Yan Xingyu saw this and took a few steps back, being careful not to be touched.
Her evasion allowed the Plain Moth to discover a weakness, so it no longer used its sharp claws to catch her. It puffed itself up and violently spat white silk to entangle the person.
Yan Xingyu continuously dodged, but failed to notice a hand suddenly appearing behind her and grabbing her shoulder. Scared, her hair stood on end, and she quickly swung her blade toward it.
A “clang” sound rang out between the two people. Yan Xingyu clearly saw the face of the person in front of her.
She exclaimed, “Auntie?!”
Yan Xiaoling held her sword, blocking the person’s attack. Looking at her niece’s completely guarded look, she smiled and said, “Rou’er, don’t be afraid. I’m here.”
With that, she brandished her sword, formed a seal, and cast a formation. Countless phantom sword shadows stabbed toward the Plain Moth, instantly knocking it to the ground.
Seeing the Plain Moth pinned to the ground and howling, Yan Xingyu realized how powerful Yan Xiaoling was. However, wasn’t the other party supposed to be in the Demon Realm? Why would she appear here? She asked, “Auntie, why are you here?”
Yan Xiaoling turned to look at her and said, “Rou’er, if I hadn’t come, wouldn’t this little brute have hurt you?”
“I asked you to go to Yuanming Mountain, so why are you here at Qingding?”
Yan Xingyu said, “Auntie, this is a long story.”
Yan Xiaoling looked around, her eyes darting, and said, “Rou’er, let me take you out of here first before we talk.”
Yan Xingyu nodded and agreed. It was a good chance for her to think about how to make up some story to deal with the original owner’s aunt.
Yan Xiaoling slashed through the void with her sword, directly cleaving a path through the dense fog. She said, “Rou’er, go out through this path.”
Yan Xingyu lifted her foot and walked toward the path that had been cleaved open. Yan Xiaoling followed behind. After they walked for a while, the sound of the Plain Moth behind them grew louder and louder.
Yan Xiaoling instinctively felt something was wrong. She turned back and saw a dark figure standing beside the Plain Moth.
Yan Xingyu felt the person beside her change her movement, and turned to see Yan Xiaoling flying back to the Plain Moth. She also saw another person who surprised her.
“Yirong.”
Yan Xiaoling held her sword and went straight for the person’s vital point. Yirong saw the person attacking, but just waved her hand. A ball of black mist appeared in front of her, and the sword plunged directly into the black mist.
Yirong’s other hand released a swarm of black shadow fish that swam over the Plain Moth, which was struggling and howling on the ground. Yan Xiaoling saw the little black fish nibbling at the Plain Moth, and her eyes flashed with coldness.
She pulled out her long sword and continued to attack the person, but without exception, the sword would become trapped in Yirong’s black mist. Seeing that she couldn’t restrain the other party, Yan Xiaoling shouted, “Rou’er, come and help me! Help me kill this little brute that killed my sister, that killed your mother!”
Yan Xingyu looked up. She saw the other party’s colorless and waveless eyes also looking back at her. For some reason, her heart trembled.
Seeing that the person was slow to move, Yan Xiaoling shouted, “Rou’er, what are you doing? Hurry up and come here?”
Yan Xingyu only picked up her long bow and shot an arrow at her, but the arrow was not accurate.
Yirong’s body didn’t move an inch. She watched the arrow brush past her cheek. As if sensing something, she slightly lowered her eyes and accelerated the speed at which the black shadow fish consumed the Plain Moth.
Yan Xiaoling cursed in exasperation, “You truly are the useless daughter born to my useless sister! You can’t even shoot an arrow straight! Yirong, why haven’t you killed her yet?”
Yan Xingyu watched the woman start to speak malicious words, and she internally sighed. The time for Auntie’s ‘good personality’ was too brief.
“Shut up.”
Hearing the words spoken by the person in front of her, Yan Xiaoling laughed out loud, “What, are you angry? Yirong, what right do you have to be angry? Who are you?”
“Something that is neither demon nor ghost, yet still thinking of being my sister’s daughter. Are you worthy?”
“But you can never be now. My sister was killed by you, and our entire family was killed by you, hahaha.”
Seeing the woman become increasingly frantic, Yirong spat out a ball of black mist, seemingly intending to take Yan Xiaoling away.
Yan Xingyu saw the other party’s intention, no longer watched from a distance, and flew forward to slash and break the black mist. She said, “You can’t take her away.”
Yan Xiaoling smiled when she saw this, “My good niece has finally come to her senses! Quickly kill Yirong! She is our enemy! Don’t let her go!” Saying this, she took advantage of the standoff between the two, turned around, and used her sword to kill all the black shadow fish on the ground.
She then flung out a long silk ribbon, wrapped up all the cocoon clusters on the Plain Moth, took them away, and flew off. Yirong wanted to chase, but Yan Xingyu blocked her path.
Looking at the person staring at herself with a complicated expression, she asked, “What do you want to do?”
This was also what Yan Xingyu wanted to ask: “Yirong, what do you want to do?”
