I Love Her Because She’s Dim-Witted And Filthy Rich - Chapter 14
Move in and live with her?
Duan Bainian had to admit, she was starting to think of some very strange things.
She was naturally queer. Back in high school, she had a crush on her deskmate. Of course, that bit of adolescent infatuation was like a pebble thrown into a pond—quiet, ripples fading, ultimately ending without a sound.
Later, when she started university, she was encouraged by her roommates at the beginning of the semester to participate in a certain singing competition. Unexpectedly, she ended up winning third place in the national finals.
After that, because she was under a management contract and hadn’t met anyone who made her heart flutter, Duan Bainian naturally remained single.
However, that didn’t mean she didn’t understand “those things.” She was precocious; as early as high school, when she first realized she liked girls, she had already sought out knowledge on the subject.
Now, Su Miao was actually taking the initiative to suggest they live together.
Duan Bainian shook her head with a smile. Heavens, did this little fool even know what she was saying?
Of course, the little fool didn’t know what she was saying.
Seeing Duan Bainian remain silent while shaking her head, Su Miao grew anxious. “I’ll live with you so I can protect you! What if you get bullied again?”
Duan Bainian smiled to herself, thinking: If you move in with me, I’m afraid I won’t be the one getting bullied.
However, such thoughts could only remain thoughts. Su Miao was different from her; Su Miao wasn’t naturally queer.
Duan Bainian pinched Su Miao’s cheek. “Where would there be so much danger? Go back and rest early.”
Su Miao looked indignant. “That assistant of yours is useless! They don’t even know how to protect you! And you won’t even let me move in! You really are a fool!”
Duan Bainian couldn’t help but laugh. Heavens, look at what this little fool was saying. She was actually calling her a fool?
Duan Bainian suppressed the urge to pull the little fool into her arms and squeeze her. “This film wraps up early next month. Moving back and forth is such a hassle. If you move here, your assistant won’t be able to take care of you.”
Su Miao said earnestly, “I don’t need an assistant to take care of me. I can take care of myself.”
Duan Bainian’s face showed helplessness, but her heart was filled with joy. She truly loved this little fool who was so clingy toward her.
And so, as if possessed, she gave in. “If you don’t find it troublesome, then move in.”
Su Miao immediately beamed with joy. “I’ll go pack my things briefly and move over right now!”
In just over ten minutes, Su Miao arrived with her daily necessities and pajamas.
This was the first time Su Miao had entered Duan Bainian’s bedroom. She was incredibly curious, looking at everything and touching everything.
Duan Bainian, coming out after her shower, looked on speechlessly. “Aren’t all hotel room layouts more or less the same? What’s there to look at?”
Su Miao shook her head. “It’s different.”
Duan Bainian asked, “How is it different?”
Su Miao sniffed the air. “The smell is different. Your room has your scent.”
Duan Bainian couldn’t help but laugh. “What scent do I have? A girl’s scent is just the smell of skincare products and body wash, isn’t it?”
Su Miao shook her head again. “It’s different…”
As for exactly how it was different, Su Miao couldn’t say. She just thought it smelled wonderful and kept sniffing.
Seeing that Su Miao couldn’t explain herself, Duan Bainian urged her to go shower. It was already nearly midnight; they needed to sleep early.
Su Miao complied, took her pajamas out of her small bag, and began to take off her clothes.
When Duan Bainian turned around, she saw Su Miao halfway through undressing.
Taking off her outer clothes was understandable, but it looked like she was about to unfasten her bra right there—what was that about?
Duan Bainian hurriedly looked away. “Didn’t your mother tell you not to just take off your underwear in front of other people?”
Su Miao looked at Duan Bainian with confusion. “We’re both girls, it’s fine, right? Back in the dorms, everyone just changed in front of each other.”
Duan Bainian found herself unable to argue. “…Fine, continue then…”
Su Miao was going to continue, but seeing that Duan Bainian seemed to mind, she silently clutched her pajamas and went straight into the bathroom, deciding to undress there instead.
After dawdling until the middle of the night, Su Miao finally emerged from the bathroom. Seeing that Duan Bainian had left half the bed open, she instinctively climbed onto the other side.
It was late, and Duan Bainian was exhausted. While she might have had some strange thoughts a few hours ago, at this moment, she only wanted to sleep early to stay healthy.
However, Su Miao had been making a racket, so she had to wait for her to come out.
Now that Su Miao was in bed, Duan Bainian immediately reached out and turned off the bedside lamp. “Go to sleep.”
But how could Su Miao sleep?
Since she was a child, she had never shared a bed with anyone other than He Aizhi. At this moment, she was incredibly excited, wishing she could pull Duan Bainian up to run through a couple of scenes!
Su Miao scooted closer to Duan Bainian and hugged her arm. “I can’t sleep!”
Duan Bainian: “……”
Su Miao stroked Duan Bainian’s arm. “Duan Bainian! Your skin is so smooth!”
Duan Bainian: “……”
Su Miao was completely unaware of Duan Bainian’s speechless state. “Duan Bainian! I’m so happy! I’m actually living with you!”
“I’ve never shared a bed with anyone before. I used to see other people sleeping with their best friends and whispering secrets, and I’d be jealous to death!”
“Growing up, I only ever slept with my mom. But my mom always talks in her sleep. Last year, when I was already in college, I went home and slept with her one night, and she actually asked me in her sleep if I’d finished my homework! It was so scary!”
Duan Bainian was truly at a loss for words. Two hours ago, how could she have felt that she “loved this little fool to death”? Right now, she didn’t want Su Miao clinging to her at all.
Duan Bainian sighed softly. “Su Miao, it’s late. We have to get up early tomorrow. Let’s just sleep, okay?”
Only then did Su Miao realize she was disturbing Duan Bainian’s sleep. She abruptly cut off her mid-sentence and spoke obediently, “Sleep, sleep. I won’t talk anymore.”
Ten minutes later, Su Miao’s breathing became even.
Su Miao had fallen asleep.
Duan Bainian, who had been dying of sleepiness but was now wide awake thanks to Su Miao’s chatter: “……”
Su Miao was a restless sleeper. Within moments, she was clinging to Duan Bainian like an octopus.
Su Miao’s breath hit Duan Bainian’s neck with every exhale. As she shifted her sleeping position, Su Miao’s legs would stretch out and curl back up, brushing against her over and over.
Duan Bainian didn’t sleep a wink all night.
She thought to herself: So, this is what it feels like to have a hundred claws scratching at your heart.
