I Just Want to Spoil and Run Away with the Abused Female Lead [Quick Transmigration] - Chapter 30
Shi Xingrao’s dark lashes trembled faintly.
From certain angles, the two of them looked very much like they were flirting a dazzling, radiant beauty and an equally beautiful yet stubborn girl, resembling a couple who could resolve their arguments with just a kiss.
Shi Xingrao was nearly driven mad by Lin Yi. She shouldn’t have pretended to have cat ears today; now that she had revealed her true nature, Lin Yi dared to say such outrageously flirtatious words only when she was sick.
As for Lin Yi liking her, Shi Xingrao didn’t even need to think to know that this person was just teasing her.
Lin Yi simply couldn’t stand seeing her with Lin Shuangran.
“Lin Yi, how dare you,” Shi Xingrao whispered in a low voice.
“Why wouldn’t I dare? Right now, I’ll call Lin Shuangran over and let her catch us in the act, how about that?”
“Or do you prefer dating me behind Lin Shuangran’s back?”
Lin Yi gently pinched the soft flesh on the girl’s cheek again, her tone still casual. “Shi Xingrao, why don’t you consider it? We could date secretly behind Lin Shuangran’s back. You come work at Lin Corporation, date Lin Shuangran at home, and date me at the office, how does that sound?”
Shi Xingrao: “…”
She wasn’t some heartless playgirl, what was there to consider?
“Or, I could move in with Lin Shuangran. After you finish dating her, you could continue dating me.”
Lin Yi lowered her voice, a hint of barely noticeable anticipation brewing in her amber eyes.
“Little fox, would you kiss Lin Shuangran and then come kiss me?”
The more she spoke, the more absurd it became. Shi Xingrao couldn’t take it anymore and used all her strength to scratch Lin Yi.
Oh, so that’s a no.
Lin Yi stared at Shi Xingrao’s slightly flushed face, sick with fever, and thought indifferently.
Lin Shuangran listened to Lu Ze’s words but kept feeling as if she could hear Shi Xingrao’s voice. She glanced past Lu Ze several times, but her view was blocked by a cluster of decorative plants in the shop. She couldn’t see clearly and had little interest in paying attention to what Lu Ze was saying.
“Xiao Ran, are you listening to me?”
Lu Ze watched Lin Shuangran’s expression, unsure whether she would help him, yet certain that she wouldn’t be so heartless toward him.
“We’re about to get engaged, Xiao Ran. You wouldn’t abandon me, would you?”
“I won’t be engaged to you. Business competition should be fair, I won’t help you go against the Lin family.” Lin Shuangran was distracted, thinking about Shi Xingrao’s heavy nasal voice when she woke up that morning. She had even less patience to deal with Lu Ze. She had come today to make things clear and put an end to everything from the past. “But since the Lin family called off the engagement, I’ll do my best to compensate you for whatever you want.”
The smile on Lu Ze’s lips froze. He wanted to demand why Lin Shuangran was being so cold to him, to ask if this was just another one of her manipulative games.
“Lu Ze, come talk to me about what compensation you want after you’ve thought it through.”
Lu Ze laughed in frustration, but reason made him suppress the anger rushing to his head. Now at least for now was not the time to burn bridges.
The man put on a hurt expression and smiled bitterly. “Do you really not care about our past feelings at all?”
“Sister, if I had any other choice, I really wouldn’t be here begging you.”
Lin Shuangran fell silent for a moment. In truth, things weren’t like this when they were younger. He used to follow behind her, his eyes sparkling as he called her “sister.”
She hadn’t forgotten her past with Lu Ze, but just as a five or six-year-old boy could be adorable, the man he’d become was equally detestable.
“Sis, could you talk to Lin Yi for me? Ask if we can delay the game launch a bit? At least give us some time to prepare. I’ve been having a rough time lately on top of the issues with the game about to launch.”
After Lu Ze left, Lin Shuangran prepared to leave, but a minor commotion nearby made her pause. “Just clean it up and it’ll be fine.”
Lin Yi’s voice was uniquely languid and unmistakable. Remembering that she’d likely heard Shi Xingrao’s voice earlier, Lin Shuangran’s fingertips turned icy cold.
Most people who came here were couples, so.
Lin Yi covered the person with her coat but couldn’t resist reminding, “Stay hidden. Lin Shuangran is looking this way. If you don’t want to be found, behave.”
Shi Xingrao lay limply across the woman’s lap, enveloped in the scent of her coat a rich, intense fragrance of bold red roses, as if trying to claim every space she passed through with her aroma.
“Sis, what are you doing here?”
Shi Xingrao felt like she must have been delirious with fever to listen to Lin Yi, but hearing Lin Shuangran’s cool, detached voice, her heart tightened instinctively, and she gripped Lin Yi’s sleeve.
Feeling the tug on her wrist, Lin Yi’s lips curved into a pleased smile. Affairs were truly the most thrilling.
Though Lin Shuangran was speaking, her gaze was fixed entirely on the woman lying across Lin Yi’s lap. Lin Yi always knew how to turn the tables, even in situations like this. The woman casually stirred her coffee with one hand. “Xiao Ran, what brings you here?”
That should have been enough, but for some reason, Lin Yi added, “I just finished work, so I’m spending some time with my girlfriend.”
