- I Helped My Best Friend with Her Romance—and Fell for the Enemy’s Strategist
- Chapter 32 - Is Stream-sensei Actually Fu Yanxi?
Yu Qiuli and Fu Yanxi escorted the two to their dormitory entrance.
“Well, that’s it for today. I’ll head back now…”
“Alright, take care on your way.”
“You too.”
The two bowed respectfully to each other.
Lin Ruocheng: “…”
Lin Ruocheng smacked her forehead. When would these two blockheads ever catch on?
She grabbed Fu Yanxi’s hand and shook it.
“Anyway, you have to come into my dream tonight. I don’t care, got it?”
“Mm, I understand.”
Fu Yanxi nodded. Lin Ruocheng pouted her red lips, rose slightly on her tiptoes, and struck a pose as if asking for a kiss.
Then she glanced at the two human-shaped robots.
The robots remained unmoved, watching the scene as if it were a show, which instantly infuriated her.
“Seriously, you two! Aren’t you going to learn? Do I really have to kiss her for real?”
“Ah… oh.”
Is this how couples are supposed to be when parting? So clingy?
They didn’t know. After nearly a year of dating, they had only kissed on the cheek.
That was it, fully upholding the importance of a first love.
“Um… can I give you a kiss?”
“Mm… you can.”
Song Wanqing lowered her head slightly and kissed her on the forehead, leaving a faint lip print.
Afterward, both their faces flushed bright red. How to describe it?
They looked exactly like monkey butts.
Only then did Lin Ruocheng nod with some satisfaction.
These two were really terrible at dating. They didn’t usually seem like this, did they?
Why were they so awkward once they got together?
After saying goodbye, Song Wanqing returned to the dorm still grinning foolishly.
That smile was utterly worthless, not just worthless, but also incredibly silly.
It was as if her IQ had taken a nosedive.
When her other two roommates returned, they were startled, almost thinking she had been possessed by some ghost or spirit.
It wasn’t until they heard Lin Ruocheng’s explanation that they relaxed.
“No way, you’ve been dating for over nine months? And just one kiss made you like this? That shouldn’t be the case, right?”
“And we had no idea you and Yu Qiuli had been together for over nine months. We really didn’t know you well enough. You two really are childhood friends and besties, after all.”
“But Wanqing, you’re not being fair. You owe us a treat, you kept this from us for so long. We even asked around about what your girlfriend likes, and it turns out you two were already together?”
“Alright, alright, I’ll treat you to a meal.”
Song Wanqing knew that once the truth came out, she’d be pestered for a treat.
She wasn’t afraid of that, but she was worried that Lin Ruocheng would find out she and Yu Qiuli had tricked her into meeting Fu Yanxi.
That would mean their relationship had started on the wrong foot.
If she found out, would she end up disliking Fu Yanxi even more?
That was hard to say.
“Chengzi, didn’t you say you’ve been working on a 3D yuri otome game lately? Are you looking for voice actors now?”
“I heard that Stream CV, the voice actor you’ve been following, is having an offline game event in our city. Do you want to check it out? I heard Stream-sensei is really hard to book. If you could get her, your game would definitely blow up.”
“Stream CV?”
Lin Ruocheng’s ears perked up at those words.
To be honest, she had been listening to yuri audio dramas since high school. She was very familiar with Stream-sensei’s voice, known as the most expensive voice in Lancheng.
She can voice any type of sound.
And it’s not just yuri audio dramas, she’s also voiced female leads in TV dramas, movies, anime, and more.
So far, it seems no one knows what Stream CV actually looks like.
I heard this might be her first offline appearance.
“Really?”
“Of course it’s true! Why would I lie to you?”
If she could invite Stream CV to voice a character in her game, it would be absolutely perfect.
She adored Stream’s voice, every single audio drama, TV role, practically every character she’d ever voiced, she had listened to them all.
And not just once or twice. She had even designed one or two game characters specifically with Stream CV in mind. She loved Stream CV so much that it felt like her voice surrounded her everywhere, across various video platforms, even the opening announcements for every English exam were recorded by her.
In fact, she had been planning to take the initiative and visit Stream-sensei this very weekend.
Who would have thought Stream would actually reveal her face now!
The odds of that happening were slimmer than stepping outside and getting hit by a hundred million dollars.
Besides, everyone knew Stream-sensei was all about her voice, no one had ever seen her face.
Almost no one knew what she looked like.
If she could land Stream-sensei for her game, it would definitely sell like crazy.
No doubt about it.
She dreamed of marrying Stream-sensei!
She didn’t care about anything else, Stream-sensei was her ultimate waifu!
Lin Ruocheng checked the schedule, the event was this Saturday, and she had no classes that day.
Perfect timing to attend the offline event.
Just thinking about it got her excited.
“Wanqing, are you going?”
Song Wanqing was still lost in the fantasy of having just kissed Yu Qiuli, unable to snap out of it.
After all, this was only the second time in nine months that she had taken the initiative to kiss her!
Usually, it was just holding hands and hugging, nothing more.
Their relationship was even more chaste than a clean, slice-of-life novel.
“Wanqing! Song Wanqing!”
“Ah? Yeah, I’ll go with you. Can’t let you be my strategist for nothing.”
At least she had a conscience.
She knew it wasn’t easy for her, good that she recognized that.
Lin Ruocheng kept a scrapbook filled with stickers and silhouette cutouts of all the characters Stream-sensei had voiced. As one of the top female CVs, anyone in the fandom knew Stream-sensei. Since she often voiced dominant roles, she had amassed a huge following of dreamers.
And Lin Ruocheng was one of them.
…
By Saturday, Lin Ruocheng, who usually loved sleeping in, woke up extra early.
She dressed meticulously, putting on her most eye-catching outfit: a striking red strapless maxi dress that was sure to turn heads.
If she could, she would have loved to bring a banner.
But that would be way too embarrassing.
This was better. She’d known since she was little that she was pretty.
The kind of pretty she was fully aware of.
She was sure Stream-sensei would notice her!
She shook Song Wanqing, who was still asleep. Wanqing glanced at her phone.
“Chengzi, have mercy! It’s only seven! Let me sleep a little longer, just a bit more, I’m begging you. Please, have some pity on me. Please, oh merciful bodhisattva!”
Song Wanqing clasped her hands together in prayer.
She was so tired she was about to resemble a panda.
She had spent last night testing the game Lin Ruocheng developed and only managed a few hours of sleep.
I’m so sleepy right now, I could drop dead any second.
“Those who have left the worldly life must harbor compassion in their hearts. Therefore, you should listen to me. Besides, I heard your girlfriend is going too, so are you going or not?”
“I’m going!”
Lin Ruocheng had her earphones on, listening to Stream’s latest yuri audio drama “Morning Sun.” Why did she keep feeling like she’d heard this voice somewhere before? More importantly, this time it seemed to be the voice actor’s natural voice but why did it sound so much like Fu Yanxi?
Stream couldn’t possibly be Fu Yanxi, right?
