I Heard That I am a HeartBreaker - Chapter 57
The two of them looked at each other and fell into silence. Given the current situation, they weren’t sure what to do—should they leave or stay?
Qi Sijiao could not imagine a scenario where she shared a bed with Gu Lingxi. Of course, it wasn’t that she hadn’t fantasized about sleeping with her Senior, but under these circumstances, that thought was immediately dismissed.
Thinking about it now, Qi Sijiao would rather lie down with Gu Lingxi than have her Senior and that woman in the same bed. She was willing to sacrifice herself to protect her Senior’s honor.
Seeing Qiu Shuang speak like that, Gu Lingxi naturally shut her mouth; if she said any more, she really would be kicked out. Then, she looked at Qi Sijiao with a puzzled expression, only to see the other girl walk straight to her side of the bed and lie down.
Since they weren’t allowed to speak, Gu Lingxi could only use glares and hand gestures to demand why she was lying on her bed for no reason and why she hadn’t gotten lost yet.
Qi Sijiao lay there with complete entitlement. As long as she was there, no one was getting close to her Senior!
Seeing that the other girl was completely ignoring her, Gu Lingxi walked over and shook her forcefully. Qi Sijiao simply closed her eyes, looking perfectly content. The two were at a stalemate.
When Qiu Shuang closed her eyes and didn’t hear the sound of the door opening, she felt confused. She turned around and saw these two “talents” on the other bed, staring each other down.
“What are you two doing?”
“I’m sleeping.”
Qi Sijiao answered righteously, without a shred of guilt for occupying someone else’s bed.
“Why don’t you go downstairs and open another room? Did you not bring money?”
Gu Lingxi couldn’t understand how Qi Sijiao could be so thick-skinned as to take her bed so shamelessly. Her family were lawyers, yet not only did she ignore the law, she didn’t even have basic morals.
Qiu Shuang was equally baffled. Just moments ago, these two were fighting to the death, and now they could lie in the same bed?
She was truly astonished by the thought processes of these “eccentrics,” but after thinking about it, she said nothing. It was best not to comment further on people with such mental states; what if one of them suddenly decided to come over and sleep in her bed instead?
“There is no way I am leaving you alone in a room with Senior.”
Qi Sijiao stated her bottom line, then lay in the center of the bed with her arms crossed. She didn’t believe the other woman would dare get in, and even if she did, so what?
Gu Lingxi looked at her and smiled through gritted teeth. She couldn’t just not sleep, and sleeping on the floor was out of the question—why should she sleep on the floor if the other girl wouldn’t?
“It’s fine. Junior, I think there are many misunderstandings between us that we can talk about later. Please move over and leave half the space for me, thank you.”
After saying this, Gu Lingxi pushed Qi Sijiao aside, lifted the covers, and climbed in. Qi Sijiao watched her smooth movements, said nothing, and closed her eyes.
Qiu Shuang looked back at the two of them. Seeing they had finally quieted down, she sighed and turned off the lights. The room fell into total silence, though what was happening beneath the surface was hard to say.
In reality, Qi Sijiao couldn’t sleep. To be honest, lying there was very uncomfortable. She was usually a very trendy person, and her clothes were covered in accessories. Since she had lied down directly without taking off her coat, the necklaces she was wearing were digging into her painfully.
Normally, she would have gotten up to take the clothes off, but then she thought of Gu Lingxi lying next to her. Qi Sijiao had to admit that the other woman was more mature, handled things capably, and even conducted herself with more decorum.
If she suddenly started stripping now, how embarrassing would that be? She decided to endure it; the night would pass eventually. Perhaps she would get used to it if she just kept lying there.
Gu Lingxi had her eyes closed, but she was wide awake. To be honest, this was a very novel experience for her. She had slept with many people, but this was the first time she had shared a bed with her love rival while her crush lay in the bed next to them. If someone had told her this before, she wouldn’t have believed it, yet here it was.
Qi Sijiao’s discomfort grew as she lay there. Suddenly, she felt a hand touch her waist. Her brows furrowed instantly. She knew the woman was a flirt, but she didn’t expect her to be so shameless as to touch her?
Heaven and Earth be my witness—if Gu Lingxi knew what the girl was thinking, she would have vomited blood. She truly couldn’t sleep, and seeing the other girl constantly fidgeting and her pendants jingling, Gu Lingxi’s OCD was triggered. She desperately wanted to straighten the girl out.
Qi Sijiao decided to give her a pass for a moment and pretended she didn’t notice, but she realized the other woman couldn’t seem to stop.
What was this? In ancient times, Cao Cao “quenched thirst by thinking of plums”; today, Gu Lingxi was “thinking of Qiu by touching Sijiao”? She really wanted to punch her again.
The more Gu Lingxi tried to straighten the chains, the more frustrated she became. What was wrong with this chain? Why wouldn’t it sit right? Suddenly, Qi Sijiao grabbed her hand and gave it a hard twist.
Before Gu Lingxi could scream in pain, the other girl covered her mouth and pulled the blanket over both their heads.
“Are you sick? If you’re sick, go deal with it yourself. Why are you touching me? You’re a psychopath, Gu Lingxi.”
Gu Lingxi hissed in pain and pinched her back.
“You’re the one who’s sick! Do you think you’re some kind of goddess? My OCD is acting up. Can’t you take off that trashy chain on your clothes? It keeps rattling.”
Qi Sijiao was already frustrated because the chain was keeping her awake; hearing the other girl mention it made her snap.
“My chain is my problem, what does it have to do with you?”
Just as the war between them was about to reach a boiling point, Gu Lingxi heard the sound of someone tossing and turning nearby. Qiu Shuang, feeling a headache coming on, turned over in her sleep.
The two immediately froze, terrified of waking her. With the heavy quilt muffled over their heads, Qi Sijiao wiped her sweat and looked seriously at the other woman.
She had actually looked into Gu Lingxi’s name before. Her parents had mentioned the drama in that family during casual dinner conversations.
However, everything she knew was second-hand. Qi Sijiao only knew one thing for certain: the woman was a player and not a good person.
Of course, Gu Lingxi herself never doubted or refuted that fact.
“Why do you like Senior? Is it just to show off like before? Senior is different from the people you’ve met in the past. If you aren’t sincere, please don’t hurt her.”
Gu Lingxi was surprised by Qi Sijiao’s words. To be honest, she thought the girl was just a flighty brat, but it turned out she was actually quite observant.
“Qi Sijiao, whether I am serious or not has nothing to do with you. It seems you really like Qiu Shuang, yet you charged over here for no reason just because of an anonymous text. You’re probably just an idiot.”
Qi Sijiao ignored her. She would investigate for herself who was using her as a weapon; as for the rest, she would deal with it later. Regardless, Qi Sijiao knew she couldn’t stand on the same side as this woman. They couldn’t even form an alliance.
Allies need to have ways to restrain each other or possess complementary strengths. These two occupied the same social standing, had similar perspectives, and their wealth and family backgrounds were on par. Therefore, they could only be enemies.
The probability of Qi Sijiao forming a brief alliance with Xin Zhu was far higher than with Gu Lingxi.
After taking one last verbal jab at her rival, Qi Sijiao dropped off to sleep. This time, despite the discomfort, she drifted off. After all, she had run all the way from the dorms and engaged in a lot of physical labor—even if that “labor” was just a fistfight.
Gu Lingxi, having been rebuffed, found no further interest in bickering and closed her eyes. All three people in the room finally entered the land of dreams.
It was not a peaceful night outside, however. Below the hotel, a figure stood watching intently all night. When she saw the lights go out and everything seemed normal, her brow furrowed.
From following them, to secret photography, to sending the anonymous text and baiting Qi Sijiao here—everything had gone according to her plan, but the aftermath was completely different from what she had imagined.
Xin Zhu felt a headache. According to her understanding of Qi Sijiao, the girl should have definitely fought with Gu Lingxi, and Gu Lingxi was no pushover. The two should have made a massive scene.
By then, the police would have arrived and taken them both away, leaving her to swoop in and comfort her Senior. But the situation was nothing like what Xin Zhu expected.
For some reason, after they went inside, nothing happened. No sirens, no reports to the police, and then the lights just went out.
Could the three of them be sleeping together?
The more Xin Zhu thought about it, the weirder it felt. The probability was extremely low. She even wondered if Qi Sijiao had killed Gu Lingxi, threatened her Senior, and they were now spending the night figuring out how to dispose of the body the next day.
Of course, that was just a wild thought. The Gu family was no small household; no matter how crazy Qi Sijiao was, she wouldn’t actually kill her.
After observing for a long time, until dawn broke and she saw three intact figures leaving, Xin Zhu’s expression grew tense.
It seemed it was a bit of a failure. Not a total success, but it didn’t matter.
Xin Zhu figured it was at least half-successful. At the very least, she had exposed the intentions of one of them. Now, they would have no reason to stay by her Senior’s side.
Xin Zhu knew very well that her Senior was not someone who was easily manipulated.
With these two lunatics tangled together, Qiu Shuang would definitely not allow this situation to continue.
Upon returning to the dormitory, Qiu Shuang covered her face and fell into silence. There were still a few hours before class. She felt she needed to clear her head and reorganize everything, as there were too many problems in the middle—and a third party had clearly intervened.
Regarding Gu Lingxi’s confession, Qiu Shuang didn’t take it to heart. Saying “I like you” is easy; it’s just a few simple words. If Qiu Shuang wanted to, she could say it a hundred times a day. Without actual action, what were these two even trying to pull?
Qi Sijiao knew that Qiu Shuang was in a bad mood, and she wasn’t about to stick her neck out. Most of the frustration was likely due to the hotel incident. Qi Sijiao knew she wasn’t in the right there—plus she had hit someone. It was better to stay quiet like a tortoise; speaking up now would just be asking for trouble.
“Ah, Senior, the weather is so nice today…”
Qiu Shuang looked at her and said nothing. she stood there lost in thought before finally asking the question she wanted to know the most.
“Qi Sijiao, do you really like me?”
