I Heard That I am a HeartBreaker - Chapter 5
“I didn’t think that much about it, we just started dating.”
Qiu Shuang looked at Song Ya, who was in a very agitated state, and gave a very perfunctory reason.
“Where does she live? What’s her blood type? Does she have any bad habits? Do you even know if she has any contagious diseases? You’d be better off with Chen Wanjun.”
Facing Song Ya’s direct attack, the owner of the hand sat next to Qiu Shuang, without any sign of offense.
“Hello, Song Ya, you must be the best friend that Shuangshuang always talks about. I’m her girlfriend, Chen Jining. If you have any questions, you can ask me directly. Qiu Shuang is quite shy and gets embarrassed.”
Song Ya rolled her eyes, a vulgar action that completely betrayed her name. She sneered in her heart, this pretender is just a pretender, absolutely on par with that bitch Chen Wanjun.
Qiu Shuang looked at Chen Jining with some gratitude. Finally, a good person had appeared after all these years to help her deflect Song Ya’s firepower.
Song Ya is really difficult to deal with—this was the only impression the other party left on Chen Jining during their lengthy exchange.
Chen Jining became more and more curious about Qiu Shuang. It’s truly rare for one person to have so many strange people around them.
Is the person in front of her truly just treating Qiu Shuang as her best friend?
Looking at the hostility and inexplicable possessiveness in the other party’s eyes, Chen Jining thought, this was the most perfect plan she had ever made in her life, and the best deal—being in a “relationship” with Qiu Shuang was incredibly suitable.
She had gained many more observational subjects.
Late at night, when everyone was fast asleep, only one person was still awake. The faint light of her phone illuminated her beautiful face. Chen Wanjun reached out and silently scrolled through messages, her gaze finally fixating on the two hands clasped together.
Didn’t she say she liked me? Why is she with someone else? Liar…
Chen Wanjun bit her lip, and her beautiful, long fingers tightly gripped her phone in anger until her knuckles turned white.
Tonight was another sleepless night.
Qiu Shuang stood outside the classroom, waiting quietly. She and Chen Jining were not in the same grade, and it was already lucky that they were in the same building for classes. She had been carefully trying to avoid the other person lately, so who knew they would bump into each other so coincidentally?
Chen Wanjun sat quietly in the classroom, the only person in the room at the moment, and she looked clearly unhappy. Qiu Shuang bit her lower lip, a bad habit she couldn’t control. Whenever she was nervous or excited, she would always bite until she drew blood and tasted it.
After hesitating for a moment, Qiu Shuang quietly walked in. She “carefully” sat in the back, choosing a spot as far away as possible.
The moment she sat down, the other person suddenly turned back to look at her.
“…”
Qiu Shuang truly didn’t dare to breathe now. After all, the other person’s eyes were genuinely terrifying. In Chen Wanjun’s eyes, it was another sight entirely: sure enough, after starting a relationship, she couldn’t wait to draw a line with me.
She said she liked me very much, but after I rejected her, she didn’t even have the courage to pursue me a few more times. It seems her love wasn’t that devoted.
A woman who isn’t devoted should be punished…
“You’re dating.”
“…Yes.”
“Heh.”
Chen Wanjun’s inexplicable cold laugh made Qiu Shuang instinctively a little afraid. She wasn’t a masochist; why would she like being verbally abused by others? She was genuinely afraid that the other party would say those words again.
After all, once that pitiful flicker of emotion and longing disappeared, she thought she really wouldn’t have the patience to play out this dramatic, sad romance with the other party.
“Chen Wanjun, I’m sorry. My past entanglement with you caused you so much trouble. I know my own issues, and I won’t bother your life again or affect you personally in the future. I’m very sorry for the harm I caused you…”
“Shut up.”
“I’m sorry…”
“I SAID SHUT UP!”
The inexplicable anger and accusation completely startled Qiu Shuang. She really hadn’t expected this strong medicine to be so potent.
It wasn’t until the other party walked towards her, grabbed her hand, and pulled her out of the classroom that Qiu Shuang realized what was happening.
“What are you doing?”
“Shut up and come with me.”
Qiu Shuang looked at the other person. She understood Chen Wanjun’s personality. Could it be that the other party had a breakdown… and wanted to hit her?
Chen Wanjun looked at Qiu Shuang, who was meekly following her out.
Why is she so thin? Is it because I rejected her?
“Your girlfriend isn’t treating you very well, you’ve lost weight.”
“Jining, she…”
“Heh, you’ve only known each other for a few days and you’re calling her so affectionately. You truly are as promiscuous as I imagined. You lesbians are all so casual, loving one person after another. Tell me, how did you seduce her?”
“Chen Wanjun, what do you mean by that?”
Qiu Shuang looked at the other party, bewildered. She didn’t seem to understand why the person she had known for so long had become this way, and why, if she clearly liked her, she would treat her like this?
Previously, when she confessed to the other party and the rejection led to her being insulted, Qiu Shuang could tell herself that not everyone is obligated to accept another person’s affection.
That was her problem. But the other party’s inexplicable accusation against Chen Jining made Qiu Shuang unhappy.
This was an issue between her and Chen Wanjun, completely unrelated to a third party. Why did the other party have such great hostility toward a stranger?
Was it just because the other party was her girlfriend in name?
“Chen Wanjun, I apologize. Perhaps my personal actions gave you a bad impression of the lesbian community, but Jining is not like that. There’s no ‘seduction’ between us. We’re together because we share similar interests and hobbies. It has nothing to do with what you’re suggesting. You can dislike me and criticize me, but please don’t involve her. Thank you!”
“Fine.”
Chen Wanjun answered very directly. Qiu Shuang hadn’t even processed what was happening when she saw the other party suddenly lash out, pressing her against the wall.
“Are you going to hit me?”
Thinking this, Qiu Shuang turned her head and closed her eyes, waiting for the other party’s attack. That way, if she fought back, it shouldn’t be her fault.
However, she only felt a warm, wet object pressed against her neck.
Qiu Shuang opened her eyes and saw Chen Wanjun forcefully pressing down on her shoulders, kissing her neck.
“Chen Wanjun, what exactly do you want!”
“Isn’t this what you wanted?”
Chen Wanjun licked her lips, looking at the delicate skin of her neck, where red, vibrant “flowers” were blooming on her pale skin.
She didn’t understand the other party. Confessing to her simply meant wanting to be with her, and couples do these things. Now that she had given Qiu Shuang what she wanted, did that mean she could break up with Chen Jining?
“I can give you what you want, but you have to break up with her first.”
“What exactly do you mean? Chen Wanjun, I truly don’t understand.”
“Isn’t this what you wanted! What else do you want? To take off my clothes and sleep with you…”
Chen Wanjun paused there.
“…I can agree to it, but you have to break up with her first. I won’t be a mistress.”
“Do you think I liked you just for these things?”
Chen Wanjun felt she had already given the other person what she wanted, so why was the other person still inexplicably sad?
Qiu Shuang struggled free from the other party’s hands. She wanted to control her emotions, but tears still streamed down. This was seemingly completely different from what she had imagined. This cake truly seemed rotten. The self who had genuinely cared for the other person in the past was truly a foolish idiot.
She was crying for herself.
“I liked you because I thought you were bright, generous, and confident. I liked every positive and upward-moving aspect of you. I was very envious and longed to become someone like you. I don’t understand what signal I gave you that made you think I was only lusting after your body.”
“I simply liked you. I simply liked Chen Wanjun the person, regardless of your appearance. Whether you were prettier or more ordinary, I liked Chen Wanjun very much.”
“…I don’t understand.”
“Let’s not see each other again.”
After saying this, both fell silent.
If she loved her, why didn’t she desire her body? If she loved her, why would she inexplicably be with someone else?
Chen Wanjun didn’t understand these things because the person who had once loved her was battered and bruised. She only dared to give her true heart once, and once missed, it could never be recovered.
Chen Jining did not wait for the other person after class. She could only return to the dormitory first. As soon as she pushed the door open, she saw Qiu Shuang lying in bed, tightly hugging her head under the covers.
Chen Jining could tell at a glance that the other person had been crying. She pulled back the covers and looked at the other person’s red, teary eyes, feeling a bit confused. Her gaze then fell on the other person’s vulnerable neck.
“What happened here?”
“…It was Chen Wanjun.”
Hearing that name, Chen Jining raised an eyebrow. Things were getting more and more interesting, and she had gained another subject to observe. She had originally thought the other party was just homophobic, but now it seemed the problem was not that simple.
“I’ll talk to her.”
With that, she left.
Chen Wanjun sat bewildered under a willow tree. Chen Jining spotted her from afar—it couldn’t be helped, as the other person’s highly distinctive and aggressively beautiful face was very conspicuous, practically on a different plane from the general public.
Chen Jining had not expected to see the other person in this state.
The other person looked lost, sitting blankly under the willow tree like a helpless child.
“Are you Chen Wanjun? I’m Chen Jining, and I think we need to talk.”
