I Got Together With the Fake Heiress - Chapter 4
Cheng Hao was stunned for a long time. Only when his butt returned to the stool did he realize what had just happened.
“Damn it, you dared to flick my forehead?” Cheng Hao’s anger instantly flared. He slammed his hand heavily on the desk and stood up. “Are you f***ing tired of living?”
“You threatened me just now. This is my justified counterattack,” Wen Yunqing said, raising her head slightly. Cheng Hao was only a few centimeters taller than her.
“Huh?” Cheng Hao’s eyebrows furrowed tightly. “While I don’t hit women, in my eyes, you don’t count as one.”
Although the flick didn’t hurt, it was an extremely humiliating incident for Cheng Hao. Even if the person in front of him was from the Wen family, he had to save face.
Wen Yunqing took a step back, sizing up Cheng Hao’s build, and said honestly, “If you fight me, you’ll be even more humiliated.”
“You’re full of crap!” The fire in Cheng Hao’s belly grew even hotter. Was Wen Yunqing implying he couldn’t beat her? How was this different from throwing his face on the ground and stomping on it?
Looking at Cheng Hao’s tightly clenched fists, Wen Yunqing’s expression remained unchanged, a hint of disdain flashing in her eyes. “If you don’t believe what I said, then trying it out isn’t…”
“Alright, class is about to start. Let’s drop this matter.” Wen Yimeng hadn’t expected Wen Yunqing to be so aggressive, taking action immediately, and directly aiming for Cheng Hao’s forehead.
“I’m sorry, my cousin usually keeps to herself, so her personality is a bit strange. Please don’t take it to heart,” Wen Yimeng said apologetically.
Damn it! If Dad hadn’t told me to look after Wen Yunqing, I definitely wouldn’t have interfered. I should have just let Cheng Hao teach her a lesson!
“Seriously, so she’s got some issues in the head. I can’t be bothered to argue,” Wen Yimeng offered an out, and Cheng Hao took the opportunity to back down.
Cheng Hao would never admit that he felt a moment of fear just now. He just had principles and wouldn’t hit girls!
Wen Yunqing glanced at Cheng Hao expressionlessly. When her gaze moved to Wen Yimeng, it instantly softened, and a matching smile appeared on her face. “Darling Yimeng…”
“Stop. Class is starting. I’m going back to my seat.” Hearing her name called out by Wen Yunqing, Wen Yimeng couldn’t help but get goosebumps. She immediately cut her off. The best course of action is to run!
Wen Yunqing looked at Wen Yimeng, who was practically fleeing in defeat, and couldn’t help but chuckle.
My darling Yimeng is so cute. She clearly cares about me, but still stubbornly pretends not to. This must be the classic ‘tsundere’ trait?
Grabbing Cheng Hao’s neck and lifting him up, and then giving him a flick on the forehead. The students in the class didn’t dare to do either of these things.
Instantly, the attitudes of the classmates toward Wen Yunqing changed. No one looked at her with contempt anymore. Her so-called background from a poor high school seemed to be immediately forgotten. No one brought it up again.
Just like that, Wen Yunqing smoothly passed the morning. When the dismissal bell for lunch rang, the classroom immediately became lively.
“Yimeng, are you eating with… your cousin?” the girl sitting next to Wen Yimeng asked. Her clothes were similar to Wen Yimeng’s, though the brand quality was slightly inferior.
Wen Yimeng glanced toward the back corner. Seeing that Wen Yunqing was still leisurely reading a book, she snorted lightly. “Why wait for her? I’m not eating with her. Let’s go.”
“Okay.” Li Ruolan looked at Wen Yunqing with some curiosity. Upon closer inspection, she found Wen Yunqing’s features somewhat familiar but couldn’t recall where she had seen her before.
It was lunchtime. The classroom emptied out in less than five minutes, leaving only Wen Yunqing by the window and one girl almost diagonally across from her, sitting in the second row near the door.
The girl didn’t seem to be planning to go to the cafeteria. Instead, she took a lunchbox out of her school bag, walked to the water dispenser to add hot water, and prepared to eat soaked rice.
Wen Yunqing glanced at her with curiosity, then retracted her gaze and intended to get up and leave.
“Zhou Jun, you’re still eating so cheaply?” A boy about 1.8 meters tall appeared out of nowhere. He leaned one hand on the door frame, peering at her.
Zhou Jun, eating her soaked rice, ignored the boy and focused on her food, trying to finish it before it got cold.
“It’s just soaked rice with vegetables. What good is eating that?” The boy, seeing that Zhou Jun ignored him, walked directly into the classroom and picked up the lunchbox from her desk. “Come on, I’ll take you to the cafeteria.”
“No need. Give me back the lunchbox,” Zhou Jun’s height was just over 1.6 meters, and she was thin, looking somewhat malnourished.
“I said, eating this is useless,” the boy said, casually tossing the lunchbox into a nearby trash can. “Come with me, my treat.”
Zhou Jun pursed her lips, her face slightly pale. After slowly exhaling, she walked around the boy and retrieved the lunchbox from the trash can.
“I said, no means no,” Zhou Jun said. Half of the food left in the lunchbox had spilled out. All she could do was wipe it clean with paper and put the empty box into her school bag.
The boy frowned upon seeing Zhou Jun’s actions. After a brief moment of guilt, he became self-righteous. “Tossing the lunchbox was my fault. As compensation, here’s my meal card.”
“No need,” Zhou Jun calmly refused.
The boy tsked, grabbed Zhou Jun’s wrist directly, and held out his meal card, trying to force her to take it.
“Student, didn’t you hear her say no?” Wen Yunqing directly grabbed the wrist the boy had extended, using five parts of her strength.
“Damn it, let go of me!” The boy felt a sharp pain in his wrist and immediately let go of Zhou Jun’s hand.
“Damn it?” Wen Yunqing slightly frowned, applying seven parts of her strength.
“Hiss!” The boy gasped, swinging his other hand, which held the meal card, at Wen Yunqing.
Wen Yunqing stepped back quickly, dodging the boy’s attack. She yanked him once before letting go of his wrist, causing him to lose his balance and fall to his knees on the ground.
“If you asked me like this, I would have let go a long time ago,” Wen Yunqing sneered. “When asking someone for something, you need to set your attitude straight first.”
“F*** you, what the hell are you!” Kneeling on the ground was enough to make the boy furious. The first thing he did upon standing up was swing a punch at Wen Yunqing.
Wen Yunqing retreated again, avoiding his attack. She then seized the opportunity and kicked the boy in the stomach, using nine parts of her strength, sending him flying next to the trash can.
“If you keep making a fuss, people will start gathering,” Wen Yunqing calmly retracted her foot. “I suggest you leave now to avoid further embarrassment.”
Just as Wen Yunqing finished speaking, a boy walked by in the hallway.
“Brother Yao, did you manage to invite someone to lunch?” the boy asked, peering inside through the window to check the situation.
Zhang Yao quickly got up from the ground, pretending nothing had happened. “No, she already has plans for lunch today.”
Saying that, Zhang Yao shot a fierce glare at Wen Yunqing. “Let’s go, let’s get something to eat.”
“Okay.” The boy didn’t notice anything unusual and walked off shoulder-to-shoulder with Zhang Yao. “Student Zhou, Brother Yao and I are leaving now. See you tomorrow for lunch.”
“Brother Yao, why is there dust on your back?” the boy asked curiously after a few steps.
“I don’t know. Maybe I leaned against something dirty,” Zhang Yao said casually, suppressing the dull pain in his abdomen.
After the sound of the two boys talking completely faded, Zhou Jun stood up and bowed slightly to Wen Yunqing in thanks. “Thank you, just now.”
“You’re welcome,” Wen Yunqing leaned one hand on the desk. “Shall we go eat together?”
Zhou Jun shook her head. “No need. I’m not hungry.”
“Alright, then I’ll leave first.” Wen Yunqing didn’t insist. She waved and departed.
As a private high school, the food at the Ruihua cafeteria wasn’t cheap. A simple three-dish, one-soup meal cost Wen Yunqing over a hundred yuan. However, the food tasted good, at least Wen Yunqing couldn’t find any major faults with it.
The lunch break was about two hours. It was early autumn, and since Wen Yunqing had nothing else to do, she walked around Ruihua to memorize the main routes.
By the time she returned to the classroom, the seats were mostly filled.
“These are new mini-cakes. I bought a few extra. Try them and tell me what you think,” Wen Yimeng said, carrying a shopping bag and distributing the mini-cakes inside to the girls around her.
After they each had one, Wen Yimeng looked at the remaining five and took two out, placing them on Zhou Jun’s desk. “You try them too and see what you think of the flavor.”
“No need. I don’t eat those,” Zhou Jun said, pursing her lips.
“Just try it. Maybe you’ll like the taste of the new product,” Wen Yimeng said with a smile. “If none of you like it, I can suggest to the boss that he change the product next time.”
Zhou Jun glanced around. Seeing that the nearby girls all had one, she stopped refusing and softly said, “Thank you.”
Wen Yunqing walked in through the doorway just then and witnessed the scene.
“Yimeng, is there a cake for me?” Wen Yunqing asked, her gaze falling on the three remaining cakes in the shopping bag.
Wen Yimeng looked at Wen Yunqing and reluctantly pulled one out. “Here.”
“Thank you,” Wen Yunqing smiled, taking the cake from her hand. “Yimeng is so kind to me. You must have saved this especially for me, right?”
Wen Yimeng couldn’t help but roll her eyes at Wen Yunqing. How can this person be so utterly unaware? Given our relationship, would I specially buy her a mini-cake?
It’s already noon. She must still be half-asleep!
