Li Lanzhao and Boss Zhao were dumbfounded.
The balding man flew into a rage, screaming at the top of his lungs, “You crazy bitch! Where the hell did you come from, running your mouth like that?”
He lunged forward, his greasy, oversized hand raised to slap Bai Qian. But before he could land a blow, his thick arm was caught mid-air. With an unwavering expression, Bai Qian twisted his arm back with a forceful, heavy press.
“AH! God, that hurts! You crazy hag, let me the hell go!”
A waiter rushed over, startled by the commotion. “Customer—”
The elegantly dressed woman effortlessly shoved the man back into his seat. While pinning him down with her left hand, her right hand snatched up a spoon from the saucer. With a face like ice, she made a move as if to plunge it into a lethal pressure point on the man’s body.
“Shut your mouth, or I won’t mind giving you a permanent memento of our meeting.”
Boss Zhao turned deathly pale, frozen in fear, not daring to make another sound.
Bai Qian tossed the spoon aside and turned to the stunned young waitress with a faint, graceful smile. Her aura was like a cold, proud snow lotus blooming on a peak, yet that slight curve of her lips gave her a surprisingly warm and approachable quality.
“I’m sorry. Could you please bring me a glass of plain water?” Bai Qian pulled out a tissue and meticulously wiped each of her slender, jade-like fingers. “My hands got… dirty.”
The man, slumped in his chair, understood the insult. His face shifted through shades of blue and white, looking utterly pathetic.
Bai Qian turned back to the equally stunned Li Lanzhao, reverting to her professional, detached demeanor as she laid out her chips. “I am offering double his price. Ms. Li Lanzhao, can we agree to hand Siwan over to me?”
The moment Li Lanzhao heard the word “money,” her eyes sparkled with greed. “You… are you serious? You can really give me two hundred thousand?”
Bai Qian pulled out her phone and displayed her WeChat balance. It was exactly a ‘2’ followed by a long string of zeros. “If you agree, I can transfer the funds to you right now.”
Blinded by the payout, the woman nodded frantically, digging out her phone to add Bai Qian. “Of course—”
“Li Lanzhao! You forgot how you begged me to buy your daughter! You money-grubbing bitch!” Boss Zhao roared in fury.
Li Lanzhao stiffened, but before she could speak, Bai Qian answered for her. “Zhao Yinghao. You’re the live-in son-in-law of the second daughter of the Tong Group, aren’t you?”
The man froze. “How do you know that?”
Bai Qian didn’t answer. Instead, she continued, “I wonder, if Ms. Tong found out about Mr. Zhao’s various… extracurricular activities behind her back, would she kick you out of the house?”
The man tried to bluster, his voice trembling. “Don’t think you can scare me with talk. Who do you think you—”
The rest of his words died in his throat as Bai Qian opened her photo album and slowly showed him a series of uncensored, scandalous photos.
She put the phone away expressionlessly. “Get out of here right now. If you ever approach Fu Siwan again, these photos might accidentally find their way to Ms. Tong’s inbox via an anonymous tip.”
The man fled. As arrogant as he was when he walked in, he was twice as pathetic as he scurried away.
With the nuisance gone, Bai Qian quickly finalized the transaction with the woman who valued money above all else. As Li Lanzhao tucked her phone away, Bai Qian called out, “Did she already know about the deal you made with Zhao Yinghao?”
In the face of her benefactor, Li Lanzhao’s attitude was exceptionally cooperative. She spilled everything: “Of course she knew. That hundred thousand Boss Zhao agreed to? She was the one who told me to raise the price. By the way, Ms. Bai, could you please not tell her you paid two hundred thousand? If she finds out, she’ll demand half. She doesn’t even think about who found the client for her—she’s got some nerve asking for a cut.”
The woman grumbled her way out, leaving Bai Qian standing alone for a moment. Finally, she sat at a different table and ordered a coffee.
Bai Qian removed her glasses and rubbed the bridge of her nose. This world’s mission seemed like it would be harder than she thought.

In the original plot, on the night of her eighteenth birthday, Fu Siwan’s biological mother sold her virginity to Zhao Yinghao for a hundred thousand yuan. That was the beginning of the girl’s downward spiral and loss of self-respect.
After that birthday, Zhao Yinghao officially kept her as a mistress. This sordid relationship lasted until her sophomore year of college, when she met the “white lotus” scumbag male lead. Deceived by his gentle, hypocritical exterior, she gave him every penny of the savings she had earned through selling her body.
Later, her relationship with the scumbag was exposed. Zhao Yinghao locked her up and brutally humiliated her for three days and two nights before letting her go, scarred and broken. Some of the scars were permanent. One day, the male lead “accidentally” saw them.
Under his questioning, she revealed the truth. He held the weeping girl, claiming he didn’t care and swearing he would never let her be hurt again. She naively believed him. But within two weeks, his true face emerged. He began to emotionally abuse her, shouting that she was “dirty” for willingly being a toy for a disgusting old man. Finally, he staged a fake kidnapping with his friends.
It was a clumsy ruse, but the girl was so desperate to save him that she ignored the red flags. The final scene of the original plot saw her dragged before him by the “kidnappers” and gang-raped in front of him. Unaware she was pregnant, both she and her unborn child died in that derelict warehouse. Meanwhile, the man who had “painfully” witnessed her torture calmly accepted a large sum of “hush money” from his actor friends.
The original plot hadn’t mentioned the “partnership” between Li Lanzhao and her daughter, so Bai Qian had assumed it was purely the mother’s greed. But based on Li Lanzhao’s answer, it was clear that the girl’s moral compass had already been warped by years of her mother’s poisonous influence.
It seemed that before she could push the girl toward a path of academic success and a career, she would first have to fix her skewed worldview.
Fu Siwan was eighteen. Bai Qian was twenty-eight. A ten-year difference. Asking the girl to call her “Sister” shouldn’t be too much, right?
Bai Qian finished her coffee. It was 5:23 PM. It was a five-minute walk to the hotel Li Lanzhao had booked.
Li Lanzhao hadn’t physically abused her daughter; she had just brainwashed her. Dealing with someone like that with money was, in a way, quite convenient.
Bai Qian stepped out of the cafe and walked toward a low-profile luxury car. Before she reached it, the driver, a young man, lowered the window. “President Bai, heading home?”
“No. Take the car back. Also, have someone clean up the apartment at Lanmei Court tonight. I’m moving in tomorrow.”
Xie Chao, her personal assistant and driver, asked instinctively, “Lanmei Court is quite a distance from the company. You’ve always stayed at Shangfang Gardens; why the sudden move?”
Bai Qian smiled. “I’m going to raise a little rabbit that might bite. Moving there is more convenient for her.”
Lanmei Court was in the city center. More importantly, it was the best school district in the city. A ten-minute walk east was the city’s top private high school, and the country’s best universities were only two kilometers away.
Moving was the first step of her plan.
Xie Chao had been by Bai Qian’s side since her graduation. His boss was a workaholic who cared for nothing but business. Now that she was suddenly “keeping” someone, he was intrigued by this “little rabbit.”
Bai Qian saw the gossip in his eyes. “I’ll introduce you when there’s a chance.”
“Understood! My girlfriend is away on a business trip anyway, so I’ll head over to Lanmei Court right now and personally get the ‘new house’ ready for you.”
Bai Qian frowned at the phrase “new house.” Was he misunderstanding something? But he didn’t give her a chance to reply, driving off immediately.
Bai Qian ignored his wording and sent him a voice message. While Zhao Yinghao hadn’t gotten to Fu Siwan yet, he had preyed on many young girls. Someone like that deserved to be handled by the police along with the evidence she had gathered.

Bai Qian arrived at the hotel. She couldn’t take the girl home tonight because her school didn’t allow phones, and Li Lanzhao had only communicated with her at noon. Changing the plan now would be too much trouble, so they would stay at the hotel for one night.
The moment she entered the original room, Bai Qian was shocked by the explicit adult toys scattered about. Without looking twice, she shut the door and went back to the lobby to change to a standard twin room.
She waited in the lobby. Soon, a beautiful girl in a school uniform walked in. She wore no makeup, but her features were so exquisite she looked like an immortal. Her wrists, peeking out of her sleeves, were as white as snow and smooth as silk.
However, she wore a weary, cynical expression that added a layer of gloom to her clean appearance.
As the girl tried to pass her expressionlessly, Bai Qian spoke. “Fu Siwan.”
The girl stopped. Her eyes flickered with surprise at Bai Qian’s appearance, but she quickly regained her indifference. “And you are?”
“Zhao Yinghao sent me. We changed rooms. 419. Follow me.”
Bai Qian wanted a more private place to get to know her. But when she spoke, the girl clearly misunderstood. The initial spark of surprise in her eyes turned to disdain. She said nothing and silently followed her upstairs.
This room was perfectly normal. Bai Qian closed the door and let her expression soften, wondering how to start their first conversation.
Fu Siwan scanned the room. Seeing no one else, she turned to face the beautiful woman by the door. She curled her lips into a smile. Her almond eyes, which should have looked pure and sweet, were now filled with malice.
“You look quite a bit older than me,” she said smoothly. “You aren’t going to force me to call you ‘Sister,’ are you, Auntie?”
