I Became the Cure for the Cursed Prince - Chapter 110
“Why can’t you say anything? Was your promise not to hurt him just an excuse, Prince Leon Theian?”
Leon stayed silent.
Michelle’s expression darkened even further.
Her sharp gaze seemed to cut through him as she spoke.
“Where is the boldness you showed as a boy, when you begged me to entrust Lucas to you?”
Still, Leon said nothing.
Michelle sighed heavily and continued.
“As I thought. You were only planning to run away all along.
Fine. I’ll take care of Lucas myself.”
As Michelle tried to walk past him toward Lucas’ room, Leon grabbed her arm tightly.
Michelle’s eyes flashed dangerously as she snapped,
“So now you want to pick a fight with me too—?”
“Both of you, stop!”
Before Michelle could finish, a commanding voice rang out.
At the end of the corridor, they saw Asili approaching, her presence radiating authority.
Leon turned pale at the sight of his mother.
Her face, usually so kind and gentle, was now cold and stern.
“Both of you should be ashamed,” Asili said, her voice sharp.
“How dare you speak such terrible things about a royal child of the Theian Empire?
Have you no fear of the heavens?”
How did she find out so quickly?
Asili gripped the stair railing for support, her hand trembling faintly, but her gaze remained steady.
Michelle didn’t back down.
“Forgive me, Your Majesty.
But the one we’re speaking about is my only sibling—my family.
Are you saying I should simply stand by and watch while my brother is forced to risk his life?”
Asili’s voice was cold as ice.
“Lucas is no longer Lucas Rion.
He is now Lucas Theian, Crown Princess of the Empire.
Surely you, of all people, know the importance of law and duty.”
“I know about duty,” Michelle said sharply, “but I will not tolerate cruelty.
Even if royal blood is precious, it’s not irreplaceable.
Do you truly believe a child who takes a parent’s life can grow up happy?”
“Watch your words, Duke Michelle,” Asili warned sharply.
“You should be careful too, Your Majesty,” Michelle shot back.
“If this continues, don’t be surprised if I demand that Lucas’ name be stripped of the Theian title—”
“Enough! Both of you!”
Leon’s voice roared down the hallway, making both women fall silent.
Not giving them a chance to speak again, Leon continued firmly,
“It’s late.
We’ll discuss this in the morning.
Right now, Lucas is my wife.
Are you really planning to ruin the wedding night of a newly married couple?”
Both Asili and Michelle opened their mouths to argue, but Leon pressed on, his voice cutting and cold, forcing them to fall back.
“Anything concerning my mate is my responsibility.
Both of you, leave.”
Asili and Michelle exchanged one last hard look before turning and walking away.
Leon let out a long, weary sigh.
For now, he had managed to silence them, but he knew neither Asili nor Michelle would give up easily.
Especially Asili—she would do anything to preserve the royal bloodline.
Usually, Lucas would have stood firmly at Leon’s side.
But this time, Leon had a bad feeling that Lucas might seek out Asili’s help instead.
Lucas was too stubborn—he would never easily abandon his decision.
“I won’t let it come to that,” Leon muttered.
Driven by urgency, Leon rushed off to find Exer. He had to act before Asili made her move.
He hadn’t realized he could become this ruthless.
But when it came to Lucas’ life, there was nothing he wouldn’t do.
When he found Exer, Leon immediately gave his order.
“Go back to Theian. Bring back that herb—the one that can safely end a pregnancy.”
Exer hesitated, glancing around nervously, and answered carefully.
“Your Highness… I could try. But you know it’s impossible to find that herb in time. And more importantly… you know you cannot make such a decision alone.”
With a sharp hiss, Leon drew his sword and pressed it lightly against Exer’s bowed neck.
“Will it take me taking your life to make you understand?”
Exer remained perfectly still and said calmly,
“Even if you do, it won’t change anything.”
Leon’s hand trembled slightly before he slowly lowered the sword.
There was a reason he had chosen Exer as commander of the knights— It wasn’t just his loyalty; it was his unwavering, stubborn sense of right and wrong.
But right now, Leon felt like he was suffocating.
Even if he forced Exer to act, it wouldn’t solve anything.
Finally realizing the cruelty of what he was trying to do, Leon stood frozen in place for a long moment.
Seeing the sword finally lowered, Exer rose carefully to his feet and spoke with quiet compassion.
“I cannot even begin to imagine how much Your Highness must be hurting right now.
But… surely the one who is hurting and confused most of all is Lucas.
Perhaps… it’s time to go back to his side.”
Normally, he would have congratulated them.
But in this situation, he couldn’t bring himself to say such a thing.
Leon stood there for a moment, blank and motionless, before finally moving toward the exit.
Now, everything depended on his decision.
As Exer watched him go, he quietly folded his hands and prayed.
May peace returns to the newlyweds soon.
Leon rushed to Lucas’ room. Standing outside was Sion, keeping guard.
Their eyes met.
“Why are you standing here?” Leon asked, frowning.
As Leon reached to open the door with what he thought was a casual question, Sion boldly stepped in front of him.
“It’s an order from Lord Lucas,” Sion said firmly.
“…What?”
“Lord Lucas asked me to risk everything to protect the child—for the future of the Theian Empire and the Duchy of Rion.”
Leon narrowed his eyes, his gaze turning cold as ice.
The pressure radiating from him was overwhelming—Sion felt like he was standing before a tiger, his body breaking out into a cold sweat.
But even so, Sion didn’t move.
After a suffocating silence, Leon spoke in a low, dangerous voice.
“Do you seriously think this makes sense?”
“…Forgive me, Your Highness.
But no matter what anyone says, Lord Lucas’ will comes first for me.”
Leon was stunned.
It was their wedding night, and yet Lucas had ordered his knight to block his own husband at the door.
Leon rested a heavy hand on Sion’s shoulder.
The sheer strength of his grip made Sion let out a suppressed groan.
Leon leaned in and said through clenched teeth,
“Move. While I’m still asking nicely.”
His golden eyes flashed like a beast ready to strike.
Sensing his own life was at risk, Sion flinched.
Leon shoved Sion aside and reached for the door—
but before he could open it, the door opened from inside.
Lucas stood there, one hand protectively resting over his belly.
The moment he saw Leon, he spoke firmly.
“Leon. Stay away.”
Leon, brushing past Sion as if he were nothing, took a step toward Lucas.
“Lucas—”
But Lucas immediately stepped back, avoiding him.
He spoke coldly.
“Leon. I know you’re confused and hurting.
But don’t you dare cross the line.”
“Lucas, you’re being emotional right now. Just listen to me—”
“I know where you went,” Lucas cut him off sharply.
“You went straight to Exer, didn’t you?
You told him to find the ingredients needed to end this pregnancy.”
Leon felt like his heart dropped straight to the floor.
For a moment, he was speechless.
When he opened his mouth to reply, Lucas spoke first, his voice rising.
“If you lay a hand on me now—”
Lucas met his gaze without flinching.
His black eyes were piercingly clear and determined.
“—I’ll take it as your choice to never see me again.”
Leon froze.
Lucas was putting distance between them.
Leon could feel the blood draining from his face.
His head spun so badly he thought he might collapse.
But somehow, he forced his legs to hold him upright and tried again to move toward the room.
Just then, Lucas’ voice came again, even colder.
“Don’t come in.
If you try to force your way in, I’ll leave.”
The door shut firmly in Leon’s face.
Leon staggered back, leaning against the wall for support.
Why?
He only wanted Lucas to be healthy.
He only wanted to protect him.
If Lucas would just open the door now and say he was angry in the heat of the moment—if he would just say he didn’t mean it—Leon would forgive everything.
But the silence stretched on endlessly.
The longer it went on, the more Leon felt like his heart was being scorched black inside.
Watching Leon’s miserable figure, Sion spoke carefully.
“Isn’t it the decision of the person you love?
Please respect Lord Lucas’ choice.”
“…”
“It’s Lord Lucas who is carrying the child in his own body.
I’m sorry, but this isn’t something Your Highness can decide.
It’s entirely in his hands now.”
Leon said nothing.
He already knew all of this.
He understood exactly why Lucas was so determined to protect their child.
But even so, the fear of losing Lucas made it unbearable for him to accept.
“…Fine. I understand,” Leon said at last.
He had no choice but to leave Lucas behind.
Thrown out from their bedroom on their wedding night, the only place left for him to go in this entire castle was the greenhouse.
“You’re here, Sister,” Lucas said quietly.
After Leon left, Michelle came in.
Thanks to some fruit given by the physician—something said to ease morning sickness—Lucas was feeling a little better, the nausea fading.
Michelle sat down beside him, forcing a smile.
“Congratulations, my dear brother.”
At those words, Lucas felt his heart tighten painfully.
Ever since discovering he was pregnant, he hadn’t received a single proper word of congratulations from anyone.
It was understandable. Even Lucas himself couldn’t completely celebrate yet.
Feeling guilty toward the life growing inside him, Lucas spoke in a slightly trembling voice.
“Would you… mind saying it one more time?”
Michelle smiled warmly.
“As many times as, you want. Congratulations, my brother. And…”
Her gaze softened as she looked at Lucas’ still-flat stomach.
“To my dear little niece or nephew, welcome. Your aunt has been waiting a very, very long time to meet you.”
