I Am Being Raised by a Cat - Chapter 23.2
Chapter 23.2
Cheng Yue blinked, seemingly wanting to say something else, but saw the man had already turned to get the equipment.
The soundproof earmuffs were a bit large. When placed on the youth’s head, they made his face look like only a narrow strip.
Cheng Shang found it amusing. He reached out to pinch the youth’s face and couldn’t help saying, “How is it that I just can’t feed you fat?”
Cheng Yue brushed off his hand. “When you were so hungry before, I didn’t see you getting fat either.”
All his money had gone toward buying cat food.
Cheng Shang paused, then spoke with a hollow sense of confidence, “That’s different. I exercise frequently.”
“By exercise, you mean doing parkour in the house and breaking so many of my water glasses?”
A rare flash of guilt passed over the man’s face.
“And every weekend, running onto the bed to step on my face.”
Cheng Yue got angry just talking about this, glaring at the man resentfully. “Even though you aren’t fat, you aren’t thin either. You almost flattened my nose.”
Cheng Shang gave a fake cough. “Baby, how about you take your revenge tonight? You come to step on my face.”
He’s sick.
Cheng Yue rolled his eyes at him.
Cheng Shang had said it casually, but the image inexplicably flashed in his mind. It wasn’t like he hadn’t licked the youth’s feet before; they were white and soft. If he were to step on his face while throwing a tantrum…
He definitely wouldn’t be able to hold himself back.
“Hurry up, Cheng Shang. How do I do this?”
Cheng Yue was holding the training vest and trying to put it on. The man lowered his eyes and strode over, pulling the straps from behind to tie them.
The clothes were a bit large, and the straps had to be tied very tightly to ensure they wouldn’t fall off.
The man said in a hoarse voice, “You won’t admit you eat too little, your waist is only this small.”
He deserved to let him fill up the youth’s stomach.
When the time came to lecture him, he’d see if he still dared to not eat.
Cheng Yue ignored him, and as soon as the man finished with the clothes, he ran over to touch the guns.
“Are these all real?”
“Hm.”
The man casually picked up a gun and demonstrated the grip to the youth.
Cheng Yue: I’ve learned (nothing).
He tried to pick it up, only to nearly sprain his wrist immediately.
“Why is it so heavy!”
The man chuckled. “I told you to eat more.”
He pressed vaguely against the youth’s waist from behind, his hands reaching forward to grasp Cheng Yue’s hands as he lifted the gun.
“Your hand should press here. Don’t grip too tightly here, or it will chafe.”
The gun was heavy, but with the man supporting Cheng Yue’s arms, it didn’t seem to take much effort.
The man’s fingers hooked around Cheng Yue’s fingers, gently pressing the trigger.
With a “Bang,” a broken glass effect appeared on the electronic display screen in front of them.
Because he was wearing earmuffs, Cheng Yue didn’t hear a very loud sound; he only felt his hand go a bit numb from the recoil of the gun.
With one shot hitting the mark, the man still didn’t let go of his hands.
His other hand was hooked around the youth’s waist, using a bit of strength to make the youth press against his chest. He lowered his head slightly, his voice a bit hoarse, “Baby, so good.”
In truth, Cheng Yue couldn’t hear him speak; he could only feel the hot breath the man exhaled hitting his neck, creating a slight itch.
He moved uncomfortably, wanting to take off the earmuffs with one hand to hear what the man was saying to him.
But Cheng Shang blocked the youth’s movement first.
He held the youth’s arm, tilting his head so his lips were right outside the earmuff, slightly lowering his voice.
“Baby, if you dare not eat properly again, I’ll fill your stomach until it’s big and make you crawl across the bed crying.”
“Master, stop treating me like a cat. I want to f*ck you.”
Cheng Yue’s eyes widened slightly, and he turned his head to look at the man, blinking at him.
The man’s eyes were pitch black. He stared at Cheng Yue for a few seconds and then let go of his hands.
The youth finally took off the earmuffs, his hair a bit messy.
“What did you say? Why wouldn’t you let me take off my earmuffs?”
The man curled his lips, raising his hand to help smooth Cheng Yue’s hair, and spoke nonchalantly, “I said you’re amazing, your aim is true.”
Cheng Yue smiled first, then quickly glared at the man. “If you’re praising me, why didn’t you let me hear it?”
Cheng Shang raised an eyebrow. “Fine. Next time I’ll definitely say it for you to hear.”
Only then was the youth satisfied.
“Another couple of rounds?”
Seeing Cheng Yue looking quite enthusiastic.
To his surprise, the youth shook his head and turned to look at Cheng Shang with sparkling eyes.
“I want to see you shoot.”
The man raised an eyebrow. “Me?”
The youth nodded repeatedly.
Cheng Shang rarely came to such shooting ranges. During the years of war, he had practically slept with a gun as his pillow every day, to the point where he wasn’t very willing to touch a gun later on.
But he would never refuse the youth’s request.
Cheng Shang told the youth to cover his ears. He didn’t wear earmuffs himself, directly picking up the gun and firing off several shots in succession. He barely blinked, his movements as fluid as water.
The youth looked up at Cheng Shang in a daze.
When the man held a gun, it was a completely different aura. His thin lips were slightly pursed, his jawline was tense, and his eyes were cold. His whole body emitted a scent of lethal intent.
Heavens!
His cat was so cool!!
After the man put down the gun, he looked down at the youth. His expression and aura hadn’t shifted back yet; he still had a cold, disdainful look.
Being stared at by the man with such an expression for the first time, the youth was a bit dazed. He felt like an insignificant speck of dust, as if he could be crushed by the man’s hand in an instant.
The man raised a hand and gently poked the youth’s cheek, pressing in a small dimple.
He laughed, and the cold severity dissipated.
“Stunned? What are you dazing off for?”
Cheng Yue blinked and suddenly spoke, “Cheng Shang, these twenty years—how did you spend them?”
The man paused.
Cheng Yue lowered his eyes.
When he first traveled here, he was uneasy and the man felt extremely unfamiliar, so he repeatedly proposed to leave.
Later, he learned of the man’s illness and became close to Cheng Shang again, feeling sorry for him and wanting to cure his illness quickly.
And now, watching the man handle a gun, he couldn’t help but wonder how during the twenty years he was gone, how did Cheng Shang live? The first time he held a gun, was he as clumsy as I was today?
The youth’s expression visibly dimmed.
He whispered softly, “I really am not a qualified master.”
The man let out a low chuckle. He casually put down the gun and gently pinched the youth’s chin, making him look up and meet his gaze.
“Yue-Yue, I think this is very good. You didn’t experience those turbulent twenty years. Being by my side safely now I think that is very good.”
Cheng Shang’s hardships could be ignored.
But Cheng Yue must be safe and sound.
Cheng Yue’s eyelashes trembled as he looked up at the man. This posture made him look very obedient, as if he could be treated however one wished.
Cheng Shang felt his heart itching with unbearable desire.
He couldn’t help but whisper, “Master, did I coax you into being happy today?”
Cheng Yue: “???”
The topic skipped too fast.
And no matter how you heard those words, they didn’t sound right.
The youth tilted his chin up, his expression proud and delicate, “It was so-so.”
The man’s eyes darkened as he stared at the youth’s lips. There was only one thought in his head: I really want to kiss the baby. The baby is so obedient, can I bite him? Will he cry?
He spoke hoarsely, “Is there a reward for the Master?”
Hearing this, Cheng Yue was a bit flustered.
He didn’t have anything; he was penniless. The only two cans of cat food he brought over had been eaten clean by Cheng Shang.
He smiled sheepishly, reached out a finger, and made a swiping motion on the man’s chin. “Swipe the card.”
He had money in his finger.
Even though the money was also given by Cheng Shang.
The man’s eyes darkened. Suddenly, he lowered his head and accurately bit down on the youth’s finger.
Cheng Yue’s eyes widened slightly.
This cat was truly pushing his luck. After biting the master’s finger, he refused to let go. Tooth marks were bitten into the round fingertip, and his tongue repeatedly curled around it. But presumably unwilling to use too much force, he then licked the tooth marks pityingly.
The youth finally pulled his finger back forcefully with a face flushed red.
“Why are you still like you used to be!” He said angrily. “Still so fond of licking people.”
The man frowned imperceptibly. “Yue-Yue, I am not a cat now.”
“Hm? So?”
Cheng Shang looked at him with lowered brows for a long time, and finally sighed in his heart.
Forget it.
They played at the shooting range for half a day. By the time they came out, it was getting dark. Cheng Yue’s right arm was so sore he couldn’t lift it. The man massaged it. “Go back and take a hot bath. I’ll massage it for you.”
“How is it that Governor Cheng knows how to do everything?”
“Hm, specialized in serving the Master.”
The man said these words matter-of-factly.
However, Cheng Yue’s skin was thin and he flushed instantly. He glanced at the driver in front and hurriedly tried to cover the man’s mouth, but was caught by the wrist and kissed near the lips.
“What do you want to eat? That steak from last time?”
Just as he finished speaking, the man’s phone suddenly rang. Cheng Shang frowned slightly.
Because he was accompanying Cheng Yue today, he had specifically told Fang Cheng not to contact him unless there was a particularly urgent matter.
After picking up the phone, no one knew what was said on the other end, but Cheng Shang’s expression darkened slightly. He gave a low response, glanced at Cheng Yue, and said calmly, “I’ll be there as soon as possible.”
Then he hung up.
“Sorry, I can’t have dinner with you. I’ll have the driver take you back first. Tell me what you want to eat and I’ll have someone deliver it to the house.”
Cheng Yue looked at the man with concern. “Did something happen?”
Cheng Shang smiled. “No, just a document missing a signature. I need to go and complete it.”
He gently rubbed the youth’s shoulder. “Xiao-Xiao can also massage you. There should be a program for it.”
After saying this, the man frowned again and quickly dismissed the idea. “Forget it, don’t let him do it. I’ll be back tonight.”
Cheng Yue turned his head away, not wanting to talk to him.
However, Cheng Shang broke his promise.
That night, the man did not return.
It was Cheng Yue’s first time spending the night alone in the villa, and also the first time he felt the villa was so large.
He was a bit scared. All the lights in the house were on, and he curled up on the bed to call Cheng Shang.
But Cheng Shang hadn’t picked up once.
Even Fang Cheng hadn’t answered the phone.
Cheng Yue’s heart was almost crushed.
[Xiao-Xiao] came to the bedside to comfort him and even offered to play a little movie for him.
Cheng Yue whispered, “No need, Xiao-Xiao, I don’t want to watch.”
Xiao-Xiao pressed its big head against the bed, coaxing him, “Don’t be sad. Men are always out indulging in wine and women. I’ll show you a clip of Mr. Cheng; it’s from my private collection.”
What was it saying? It was all jumbled.
Cheng Yue actually wished Cheng Shang was at a banquet or dinner as long as… he wasn’t in danger.
Xiao-Xiao had already started playing the movie for him.
Cheng Yue thought the sounds were a bit strange.
He turned to look.
Well then. Animal World.
“…”
